And as the form shows, they are not nickle and dining you. Most sections allow you to add as much as want, and there is an insane amount to choice from. Plus, you can be super healthy. I got a salad bowl, no rice, spicy tuna and crab, with edamame, pickled radish (highly recommend), red onion and more items that I can't remember. Finished it off with fried garlic for a fun crisp that was nice change of texture. Everything tasted really fresh. The daughter got a sushi burrito, filled with crab, avocado, cream cheese and again, other items I can't remember. Everything nicely distributed. Both were huge, giving us dinner and lunch tomorrow. And such a good price! Mine was $17 because two proteins and hers was $15. It is counter service, get your own water, but they brought the food to us and there are signs saying to leave trays on table, so not total self service. Taichi Bubble Tea This review is based on an Uber Eats order, and honestly... if the food tastes this good after delivery, I can only imagine how incredible it is in person. I didn't see the restaurant itself yet, but after this experience, visiting is officially on the to-do. We started with the takoyaki balls, which were an absolute standout. I'm not an expert on how they're made, but I did notice pieces of octopus inside, and wow so good. The sauce on top is an explosion of flavor: rich, savory, slightly sweet, and totally addictive. I could eat these every time and never get bored. Next, we built our own Tachi burrito bowl and this is where Taichi really shines. The customization options are next-level. You can choose white rice, brown rice, no rice, and even a greens base. Then you get three proteins yes, three. Options include tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, spicy salmon, shrimp, tofu, crab meat, and chicken. From there, it's toppings galore: avocado, cucumbers, red onions, cherry tomatoes, jalapeños, mango, masago, seaweed salad, and crunchy add-ons like fried garlic or fried onions. The variety alone deserves applause. And then... the sauces. This is where you can really get creative. Spicy mayo, poke sauce, chili hot sauce, eel sauce, mango sauce, ponzu, Thai sweet chili, Thousand Island, wasabi the list goes on. We went with spicy tuna, salmon, and spicy salmon, and let me tell you fresh, flavorful, perfectly balanced. Every bite worked. Stopped in on a chilly rainy day and the warm ramen was a good pick on that cold day! I got the veggie ramen and especially liked how the egg was prepared. The ramen was not very heavy with vegetables, which was ok for me but some may be expecting more than the few veggies in it. The spicy miso broth was good too. I really didn't like the coconut flavored milk tea. I do NOT recommend it - to me, it tasted watered down and reminded me way too much of coconut scented shampoo than anything I should be drinking! Sadly, this boba tea shop was below my expectations. Starting by walking into the shop, it was quiet and empty. They have the potential as they serve meals too such as ramen and poke bowls. Due to the lack of their media, I think many people are unaware of this spot. I only saw this because I was looking for a store in the same plaza. We did not order meals. But I think their options are great including the build your own bowls/burrito. Their boba was not the best. Ordered couple of milk teas and they were warm. The drinks could have been more enjoyable if it were cooled before serving. There were couple of ice in the cup which melted right away. The tapioca pearls were cooked nicely- maybe could have cooked just a tad bit more. The most negative part was the flavors. Taro had a terrible taste especially right when you drink it. Almost as if it's old. Brown sugar was too sweet. Overbearing to drink. Unfortunately I do not believe we would be visiting again as there are other strong competitors nearby the area that are much better than Taichi's. I had the rose peach milk tea with boba and the tonkatsu ramen with pork. I would have liked a deeper spoon to have the ramen with instead of a more generic plastic spoon that was only slightly deep. The actual ramen was decent. It came with a lovely soft boiled egg, bok choy, fish cake/naruto, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and roasted pork. The pork had a caramelized crust to each slice and it was beautifully presented. The noodles were cooked a tad longer than I would have preferred but still decently chewy. The rose peach milk tea sugar level is fixed but at the existing level it worked for me. I liked the bits of peach mixed with the rose flavor. The boba was springy and chewy with just a tiny harder bit in the center. I'll just start by saying I won't be going back but let me tell you why... Upon entering, I was immediately greeted and I love that! Took a peek at the menu but I knew I already wanted a poke bowl. The young lady at the register told me there were cards behind me to order poke so I obliged. I made my selections, making sure to check every box applicable. I handed her the card, she rang me up, I asked for it to go, I paid and had a seat in the chairs by the window. However, while paying, the other young lady had already started my order and I didn't like the way she was handling it. I don't know their standard as it was my first time there but she was just throwing the ingredients in the box with one hand while reading the card in her other hand. I believe it was gloved but y'all don't have utensils!? You can see from the photo I posted that it was just thrown about. As far as quality, the ingredients could've been a bit fresher. Everything looked brand new, and the inside looked spacious, with good seating. I didn't plan on dining in this first visit, but I will dine in next time due to the nice interior. I built a classic poke bowl with three proteins: tuna, salmon, and crab meat. I added almost all the toppings available; my favorite topping was the masago (fish egg). So many wonderful flavors were in each bite, and everything tasted fresh. I could eat poke bowls every day! This poke bowl is one of the best I have eaten in Tucson, and I tried almost all of them in town. Both the Thai tea and matcha boba tea were also fantastic. If you want to be healthy choose brown rice, lots of veggies (YES, you choose exactly what goes into your food!), and a fresh protein, or not. When you order ask how to make your dish gluten-free, vegan, or lower in salt. If you want fewer carbs, choose the salad with your choice of greens and all of your favorite fixings. The ambiance is clean and friendly. Because they actually make you food while you watch, it takes a few minutes, up to five, but it is so worth it. The sides are wonderful, gyozo, squid legs, tempura shrimp, and more. The teas and drinks are good, but they do to a few minutes to prepare. It is not like pouring a soda from a fountain. We decided to get a few poke bowls, eel bento, house milk tea and strawberry smoothie. We waited about 15 minutes and then got our food. There's a good amount of seating in the store and it was pretty open for a Saturday early afternoon. Overall a clean and spacious environment. After several days of eating thanksgiving leftovers, I was craving a poke bowl. I'm so glad I decided to try this place. I picked the 2 protein poke bowl with spicy salmon and spicy tuna. The fish tasted super fresh, you can load the bowl with unlimited toppings which were all fresh and you can pick out 3 different sauces to go with it. The sauces I picked were the ponzu, yuzu and wasabi on the side which were so good I ended up just throwing them all in and mixing it all together. I really want to try the sushi burrito next time. My boyfriend ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen which was okay, it wasn't bad but wasn't great either. The broth was a little plain, it didn't have the deep bone broth flavor that we're used to. With all the decent ramen shops in town I would skip this. We ordered the lemon strawberry fruit green tea which was super refreshing. We weren't asked what sweetness level we wanted, in the future I'd order it slightly less sweet and it would be perfect for me. It ended up being around $42 for the poke bowl, ramen and 2 fruit teas. Tapioca pearls' texture means a lot to me, and harder boba inclined me knock off a star. A tiny bit of firmness that holds its completely soft exterior is my go-to! Now to the food, I ordered tonkotsu ramen; they include menma, scallions, corn, bean sprout, and soft boiled egg.
