Neither of us were very hungry, but knew we needed a little something. I picked this place because they had dumplings. There was not a person in the restaurant. We hesitated because it was a Friday night with no customers. We decided to go for it anyway. We ordered the chicken and carrot dumplings. The order comes with 10 dumplings. The dumplings came out very hot and juicy. They come with a sauce that was not very spicy at all. I added a little bit of low sodium soy sauce to it and it was better. The dumplings were sufficient and hit the spot. Another group of customers came in later. Shared parking outside.

What a delicious experience! This is a true mom-and-pop spot, with their son even working the counter, which adds to the charm. You can really taste the authenticity and unique flavors in every bite. I highly recommend the green onion pancake and the beef shank noodle soup--both were absolutely fantastic and packed with flavor. Definitely a place worth checking out!

Their beef fried rice and shumai, resulted in me getting food there twice in a week! And no complaints on the sesame balls, ham sui gok, bbq pork or orange chicken either. I did try their triple pie and it was okay- it was the least flavored item of everything I have eaten there... but I must note it is a unique offering you won't find in a lot of places. No frills space and minimal amount of seating. Staff are nice. Food is fresh. Will be returning again.

the taste of their dim sum is excellent, but far more expensive than what I'm used to paying in Chinatown. I bought four small dim sum plates and a salt and pepper shrimp dish that came to $50... nice taste, mediocre decor, good service, but while dim sum was very good, wasn't the best I've ever eaten

Wonton in spicy oil/ sauce

I ordered to go. Steamed dumplings, wontons and fried sesame balls. Hands down sesame balls were so good light and had great filling to outer dough ratio. Was not super oily. The wontons were good especially with the spicy sauce. Dumplings flavor was good but dough was a bit thick. Overall this is a hole in the wall. It seems to be owner run which she seemed very nice and she packages everything securely so it wouldn't spill in car.

A Tucson's must for foodies/ food geeks and people who enjoy culture like me. Updating my review because I wanted to add some more photos since we previously only done take out and I got better pictures eating in for the first time. This place is a true Jewel. Simple mom and pop, homey, everything made from scratch to order, super fresh, including the noodles for the cold noodle dish. Seems to be less known and focused on than other spots with better ambience and social media presence but I highly recommend not sleeping on this one if you want an authentic chinese experience. You will not find Americanized dishes here but instead dishes that are common in Chinese daily home cooked meals. We order the fungi salad, shredded potato salad, cold house-made fresh noodles with sesame paste (egg free) and sesame balls. We order the vegetarian dishes but they have tons of dishes with meat etc. for anyone who cares to know their veggie dumplings and veggie pie contain egg. English is limited when their young adult kids are not around but the parents seem very eager to communicate as much as they can and seem kind. Always lots of welcoming warm smiles. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

Mini pork buns and boneless chicken thigh

This is a real hidden gem here in Tucson. The restaurant is small and cozy and reminds me of San Francisco. It's run by the whole family, and they are so sweet. They are definitely known for their meat pies, but I decided to go with pan friend mini buns and chicken today. The dough was nice and thick and the filling was flavorful. The chicken was so tender and juicy and delicious. I will say, my heart broke a little when I was the only one in there and it always is when I go in. More people need to check this place out and try their heartwarming meals :)

Pork and leek dumplings

If you are looking for good dumplings and Chinese style meat pies, Jewel Noodle Kitchen is a jewel in the rough! We got an order to go consisting of a variety of items from their menu. We got the cold shredded potato, pork and scallion meat pies, pork and leek dumplings and cold noodles. It was all packaged securely and probably tasted as good as it would if dining in. Surprisingly enough, the best items we got weren't the noodles despite being called a noodle kitchen. I enjoyed the meat pie and the dumplings the best. The dumplings tasted similar to how my mom used to make them and they illicited a homey and comfy feeling after eating them. The meat pies were perfectly crispy on the outside with well seasoned meat on the inside. The cold shredded potatoes were also similar to a dish my mom used to make when I was a kid so I enjoyed those as well. The marinade for the potatoes tasted vinegar based. I wasn't really a fan of the noodles. The sauce tasted grainy and the dish itself didn't seem to have any flavor. The noodles were very super soft as if they were really overcooked and left out for some time. Details: - Online order available - Vegetarian options - Styrofoam and plastic to-go packaging

Amazingly delicious food. Was on my road trip and stay one night in Tucson then heading back to LA...surprisingly found this dinner place...even better than many Chinese restaurant in LA...I'm so happy and proud of them to contribute their work here and I will definitely be back to order different food.

The freshest dim sum in town! Everything I ordered was amazing. My personal favorite were the shrimp fun gow, shrimp hargow, and the sesame balls.

I go here for the vegetarian and vegan options - they have a lot of great house-made faux meats. I often get the "chicken" chow mein with crispy pan fried noodles - a childhood comfort food for me that actually tastes better than I remember from my childhood. Lots of veggies in addition to the faux chicken. Egg rolls and soups are great too. My husband has gotten Mapo Tofu (meat-based) and says its the best he's ever had.

The shrimp tempura is light and crisp. The beef kabobs are well flavored and cooked crispy, which is an interesting and yummy presentation, The ribs are large and flavorful. The crab puffs are amazing! We could have eaten ten of them; a crisp outside is stuffed with a melting cheesy crab mixture. Divine! House -made Chinese mustard (so good and really clears out the sinuses!) and sweet dipping sauces completed the appetizers. I've reviewed our entrees before and they are as delicious as always. I had the Three Delight Moo Shu, a platter filled with fresh vegetables, shrimp, and chicken; accompanied by sauce (hoisin?) and rice pancakes. I enjoy making my little "burrito" bites! My dining friend had the Mongolian Three Delight; shrimp, chicken, and beef prepared with at least three kinds of onions and a mildly spicy sauce, and a large bowl of rice. My friend has a spice-loving palate, and was brought a bowl of hot chili sauce. Visible pepper flakes floated in the sauce and it was pronounced perfect. I love being greeted by name and the food is scrumptious. Golden House is immaculate throughout and it is a pleasure to visit and enjoy their food. See you next month, Ming!

We got an array of standard fare as well as some things that I don't normally see on menus of other Chinese restaurants around town. The dumplings were good, though I was underwhelmed by the lack of spice on the Spicy Pork wonton dumplings. The flavor was very good, but it was not spicy at all. For entrees, we got Curry Chicken and Cumin Lamb. I'd never had Cumin Lamb before, and it rocketed to the top of my favorites list! It was gorgeously flavorful, fragrant, and spicy, warming as I ate. The spiced oil soaked into the rice, spreading the flavor to every last grain. It's really lovely and I highly recommend it. The restaurant is bigger than it appears from the outside, with a bright, cheerful ambience. Despite being busy, it never felt too loud, which was nice. The servers worked as a team and were very attentive. It was a great meal!

Pork intestines: (5/5) These were so crispy and oily. The spicy aroma from the peppers also isn't that unpleasant. Overall a very oil heavy dish and just as delicious. For example, in the middle of taking our order - the server asked the gentlemen at the table right next to us who just sat down, "What would you like to drink?" while standing talking to me. Perhaps a little training inside and outside the kitchen would raise the tide across the board.

Promptly seated, drinks brought out, order taken and food delivered fast, hot and correct. The background music was some chinese music tv station playing modern easy listening tunes and, along with the comfortable chairs and solid table made for a relaxing environment. The food? meh. You can see our order in the latest photo and how expensive it was. the Lo Mein was mostly tasteless and certainly lacking in thast "lo mein flavor." Although the meat was tender, the sauce was just a sticky brown sauce. Surprisingly, the Spicy Pickle Tofu was essentially the same sticky brown sauce as the Lo Mein but with some fried tofu in it and without the noodles but nothing otherwise remarkable. You can tell by looking at my earlier picture attached. The old picture shows a bright and colorful plate. The dish today was a dark brown (you could hardly see the tofu from the beef) as everything was just dark. Eggplant seemed to have a similar brown sauce as well but the eggplant was otherwise tasteless. Nothing popped. Chicken bites were bland and not at all crunchy. Just fried to soft texture but no real flavor. According to our server, the menu was just recently updated about a month ago. We noticed because one of our favorites was the Fried Taro Pie which is now gone from the menu and the server said yes, that's right. Maybe this place has a new owner or chef, but it's no longer in my top asian restaurants for Tucson.
