This is our favorite Chinese restaurant to go to. The service is always great. The food is wonderful. we always start off with the egg drop soup and I normally get the sweet-and-sour shrimp and my wife gets the chicken lo mein . Always plenty to take home for leftovers. Jade Garden serves the best east coast style Chinese food that I have found in Tucson. Their sweet and sour sauce is the proper consistency, their eggrolls seem like the proper, fat hand-rolled eggrolls with the proper amount of pork to veg ratio, and big fat lo mein noodles, the square kind that you can bite into and it has that feel to it. They will customize your food, I don't like peas and carrots in my fried rice, but I do like bean sprouts and they make those changes for me with no problem so I think that means they're making it fresh and they never make a big deal about it. Before I go, the wonton soup, the wontons are sometimes a little bit softer than I'd like but the broth is spot on, it has the pork slices, and cabbage in the soup. They add some additional veggies to the soup but you can ask to have those left out. That wonton soup if the first thing my sister and I think about when we get sick. It is the best. read more

Terrible service. I've door dashed from this place multiple times. Their Chicken lo mein is my comfort food. Today I payed in full just like i do any other doordash order and my poor door dasher gets BS from them saying they're still owed! Even when showed receipts of being paid. They continue to give my dasher a hard time to the point where i call to confirm my order with them. right away whoever answered the phone was rude and impatient saying i'm stupid for door dashing there and that "they don't accept doordash" Well hate to break it to you but i have countless times, and if so take it off the app! just highly disappointed with the lack of respect on their end. will NOT be giving them any MORE of my money. read more

We ordered food twice from this place and it was always good. Sometimes I crave Chinese food when I don't feel like cooking. Our food was ready in 20 minutes, so I think that wasn't too bad. Probably they are not as busy. I haven't stepped foot into the restaurant, yet. Usually my boys pick up our order. One of these days I will try dining in, just to see the inside of this restaurant. My wife and I come here every couple of weeks and we always get two family dinners with soup, eggroll crab puffs, fried shrimp, and dinner entrées. It's a really cozy place, nothing fancy. The food is good, nothing magical. Steady quality and very reasonably priced. We always take a lot of food home because we are too full to finish our meal. Very good service, with no judgment. Other Asian restaurants that we go to we hear a lot of gossiping, but here they are strictly focused on giving taking our order, giving us food, and making sure we are happy. read more

I've been a loyal customer at Jade's Garden for several years because the food has always been excellent. Unfortunately, my visit today will be my last. I ordered a cup of egg drop soup and found a cockroach in it. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter, she casually told me it wasn't the first time something like that had happened that day. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the situation, making it seem like they were used to such incidents. I left feeling disappointed and will not be returning. Better than panda express, but not by much. I'm comparing Jade Garden against authentic Chinese food from Jun Dynasty, Kung Fu Noodle, Ba Dar, and what is now known as Chef Wang. Granted, I never visited Hong Kong, and that might be where this restaurant originates from, but they only had one traditional Chinese dish, Mapu Tofu, and it tasted terrible. I ordered another dish, Ho Fun Beef, expecting it to be similar to biang biang mian. It was my favorite meal that we ordered, but I couldn't stomach more than one third of a serving. The last dish we ordered was chicken fried rice. Not authentic, but it's My Husband's favorite. And again, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. As far as ambience, I wasn't overly impressed. The brown colors and the cafeteria tables make it seem very low budget and fast food like. However, I was completely willing to give the food a chance despite its looks. Last was the service. I can only assume that it was the owner who saw us first and basically said, sit anywhere. Even though there wasn't a sign for it. But our waitress was top-notch, and she went above and beyond to make our family feel welcomed, warm and taken care of. I would give the Service four stars because she saved the whole night. However, based off of authenticity and overall taste, I would not recommend going back to this restaurant if you are looking for real Chinese food. read more

My sisters and niece had a girls night last Tuesday, and we ordered from Jade Garden. We got the lettuce cups, ribs, crab puffs, and chicken fried rice. We wanted to keep it light. Everything was absolutely delicious. Very fresh tasting, and lots of flavor. The only thing I would have changed is if they would have given us 2 halves of the lettuce (we got 2 orders of the lettuce cups) rather than 2 quartered lettuce portions. We had a lot of left over filling for the lettuce cups, and a little more lettuce would have been great. But we were all very satisfied, and we will be ordering from them again. My sister says their noodles are great too. I haven't been inside, as this was a delivery order...but perhaps next time! Looking forward to ordering a meal next time. read more

Hmmmmppp Came in on Friday, 28 dec at noon for lunch. I was given thevdinner menu. When I asked the lady I'd like the lunch menu, she said they wont be serving lunch menu till JANUARY 2nd 2019. WHATTTTT I should have left right then and there. But because I with my dad and he moves slower than a snail with arthritis, I decided to suck it up. Begrudgingly I looked at the menu knowing that my appetite has just been suppressed. No warning no notice of their lunch as special. No bueno!!!! I wasnt feeling it. I ordered the 6pcs thai chicken(appetizer) and my dad ordered the "happy family" it had more "happy sauce" than veggies, surprisingly it was good. Came with rice, no soup no wonton...just rice and the entree. Again, I was expecting the typical lunch specials. Can you feel my agitated state? I found the entrance welcoming, the service efficient, the food borderline inedible. The ribs were so tough! I expected succulent meat almost falling off the bone. I got tough meat I had to bite and just try to rip at least a morsel! When I asked for a knife, I was handed a table knife - not sufficient. I was wishing for my Spiderco at that juncture. Ok, Bathroom: at least 9 bottles of bleach stored there. Door handles grungy, toilet bowl clean, sink had built up soap. I scrubbed out the sink, top of toilet, and the trash can top. Typically we would order our food for take out. Usually just Sweet N Sour Sauce, their Chicken Fried Rice, or even their Egg Flower Soup. We would get the large sizes since that was typically enough for the entire family. However, as wad evidenced last night, they have upped their prices and shrunk their sizes. Terrible Customer 1st service mentality. Placed a order for delivery.should have went to get it. Online order placed said 60 mins....they call 1.5 hours later and say they are on the way. We live 4 mins away and nit took them 17 mins from when they called. Driver leaves and order is short 1 of the 3 dishes for the family. I called immediately and we ate what we had and finally called back after 8pm and owner on phone said they would refund and replace the dish. Driver shows and get this said you can have a refund or the pork dish...not both. Wtf. We took the refund. They can choke on the food , no care for customers. Never will go back. In my 60+ years this place was the worst. Had we not got take out and dine in, I would of refused to pay. They got 1 star, because I couldn't give them a zero Starting with Won Ton Soup broth was good, but it was weird the container was filled with slices of meat like chicken, beef and pork. Hardly any broth some veggies and won tons filled with an unknown to me meat. The egg rolls had a thick shell, not light and thin. It was beyond greasy and what the heck was inside. One bite and in the trash it went. The pot stickers were burnt on 1 side, dry, and again with the unknown meat. The lemon chicken's coating again was thick. I would think the coating would of been crisp but it was soft, mushy and the chicken dry and greasy too. As I stated in the beginning, it was absolutely the worst food we ever had. We ended up throwing $35 in the trash. I'm so disappointed. I didn't expect a gourmet meal but I hoped it was somewhat edible. read more

Very disappointed with the shrimp Pad Thai as it was dry, stringy and had only 6 small shrimp out of the whole dish and did not live up to what a Pad Thai dish is. I have to sadly say I'm quite disappointed with Jade Garden. I've eaten here for many years. I love their food but they have raised prices and have skimped on the food. Tonight I ordered the War won ton soup. This comes with wontons, beef, chicken and shrimp with verges. There was not even 1 shrimp I it. I also ordered the house special Lo mein. There we 2 pieces each of chicken beef and shrimp. I ordered 2 egg rolls and a half order of crab ragoons. Those you can't mess up. I tipped $8 on my $44 bill. This is so sad. I've ordered takeout several times from this particular restaurant. I absolutely love the classic lo mein. I always order the chicken lo mein. Ordered at work. Perfectly flavorful in its own way. I couldn't have asked for a better dish from this restaurant. My mom absolutely loves the food from here. I've become a regular here myself for takeout. Service is average, not necessarily above and beyond; however I would knock a star off for the Beef Chow Mein and Chicken Chow Mein. Notice the menu says "Chow Mein" as crispy noodles. There's another option for "Lo Mein" for soft noodles. I have ordered lo mein in the past. As it was mentioned, we expected to get noodles on the entreé. We did not get any noodles, just veggies and for the person I went with got beef and stir-fry veggies. I got stir-fry chicken and veggies. Supposed to be shrimp,beef and chicken with vegetables in spicy sauce.I got som chicken a couple pieces beef and shrimp, no vegetables and A LOT of water chestnuts and bamboo shoots. Given this place a few chances and I've been disappointed every time. I ordered the sesame chicken and it overwhelmingly tasted like fish, to the point that I couldn't eat it. As someone with a shellfish allergy, I also wasn't going to chance it, and took Benadryl immediately after I realized it was contaminated with whatever they cooked before it. Ordered 2 family dinners. First entree sweet and sour pork which was good. No issues there which is a good thing because it was for my husband and he's a bit picky. Second entree sesame chicken. It was horrible. It was so dry I couldn't eat it. It was like eating jerky. I was so disappointed. The sliced pork was also dry and over cooked. The dinners came with soup. We chose egg drop which was fine. The egg rolls were tasty as were the crab rangoons/wantons. Not sure if it was just an off day but as expensive as they are I will not be trying again. read more
