Trying Mei Hon over on Irvington. First I will say that the lady who took our order was super nice so I can say the service was good. As for the ambiance it's pretty basic, cozy and welcoming. BUT when it comes to the food I was disappointed. We had a $40 order my husband got curry chicken and it was ok. I got hunan chicken and it was bland nothing much to it. My crab rangoon didn't have any crab and like 1/4 teaspoon of cream cheese in it. My egg rolls were so soaked in grease that we couldn't even eat it. My sister got orange chicken (paid $18) and it was the best of the bunch it was good. Overall I was a one time thing for us. Ordered take out here and so happy I did! The online ordering portal is super easy and gives good descriptions of the food. It helps to understand ingredients used and prices seemed reasonable. Order was completed as scheduled and the staff were organized and efficient. We were so hungry we don't take pictures of the food-sorry. Whenever we go somewhere new we get a variety so we can get to know the place. Went here for take out. We ordered Mongolian beef, mixed vegetables and garlic chicken. The restaurant as clean and quiet. Our order came out in about 15 minutes. We had spicy and it taste great with the chili spice sauce. The garlic chicken was not as flavorful as the other dishes but still not bad. read more

They don't put pork in their Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, which is a criteria of mine. We tried the hot and sour soup, crab puffs, house lo mein and the shrimp fried rice. The soup was good and not to salty, vegetables and tofu tasted fresh. The crab puffs were really good. The house lo mein noodles were not thick noodles but thin noodles (like ramen) the were yummy, the beef was grey looking, so I didn't eat it - but the others in our party ate it and liked the beef, chicken and shrimp. I came here on my birthday and ordered takeout with some friends. This restaurant has very strict COVID protocols, so dining in was not an option. They were more than happy to fulfill a takeout order in person though. We tried what seemed like the gamut of the menu, and were not disappointed. Our orders included lo mein, a tofu dish, beef and broccoli, crab puffs, egg rolls, a spicy chicken meal, among others. As a rule, whenever we go to a Chinese restaurant, we make sure to eat the meal family style, so that everything ordered is shared amongst the group. The general consensus among everyone was that while the food was tasty, many of the dishes needed more sauce, especially those that had a meat like chicken or beef in them. It's very rare when I complain that a Chinese restaurant has too little sauce. Many places I go provide too much sauce, to the point where everything seems like it is drowning in it. However, this place was the opposite. The portions were very generous given what we paid for. Maybe a little too generous in our case given the sauce situation. read more

She stated, 'Would have been nice if you would have said something " She walked away and sent someone else to assist us. All this time the first waitress ignored our table and assisted the other two tables, we were in the middle. The waitress who served us was courteous, and was not fazed by having to write up separate tabs. She had a smile on her face and her attitude and tone friendly. The restaurant was extremely busy preparing take out orders for customers and we didn't mind the wait. Pick up was fast & friendly. Our meals were so delicious and fresh! We ordered the family dinner meals - a Mongolian beef and cashew shrimp, and both were prepared perfectly. Their hot & sour soup has to be one of the best I've ever had! Service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious! Every thing we ordered was hot and perfectly seasoned. Combo lomein noodles just the right amount of flavor and toothiness. It was okay, I ordered orange chicken spicy, didn't taste orange or spicy it was kinda bland. My grandma ordered cashew chicken which was kinda bland too. We had hot and sour soup which didn't taste sour but it was ok. I will say that I liked that the chicken wasn't all crust so that was good. But overall not impressed. Disappointing. The food was good, but the service was bad. They charged us extra claiming that it was the gratuity, but it was over $20, it was taxed and not indicated as the tip. If they are just going to force you to tip, they should let you know before you order or at least write it on the menu. They didn't use to do that. I recently called in to make a to go order and the Chinese lady has no patience and hangs up! The food is alright there noodles tastes like they been sitting in there fridge for weeks sometimes I get disgusting little green noodles as the beginning stage of mold. There never really nice here I don't know where everyone else is getting good service must be from the white servers they have. It's definitely not the Chinese lady behind the counter. I've tried to always give this place a try but food never is better!Only old people come here to eat it's always dead inside so that should be enough of a sign to never go!
