Has Old Peking recently changed management? This has been our go-to for take out since we moved to the neighborhood 10 years ago. Tonight I ordered take out with delivery. The food use to come in large white styrofoam containers. The friend rice would practically fall out when the lid was opened, it was piled so high. Tonight it came in a container 1/2 the size and was oily. In fact all 4 things we ordered were dripping in oil. I have included a picture of the Mongolian beef. That's oil in the container. That doesn't include the oil that was on my plate. It was swimming in it. If you don't believe me about the container size look at the restaurants photos on the yelp page. It shows the food in the big white containers. Now look at the picture I added of my container tonight. I know times are tough. Much improved from a fyears ago. I've been back a couple times in the last few weeks. We always get it to go but I believe the dining is remodeled and open for guests. Friendly staff. Ordered vegan specialties, Crispy spicy salty tofu and it was delicious, but the Crispy spicy sour tofu was even better. Fresh Yu Choi with Garlic. Big servings, reasonable prices. Skip the sesame balls they were not good. Husband enjoyed his veggie egg foo young and house chow fun. We had leftovers for the next day both times and we have big appetites! We were enthusiastically greeted upon entering and offered food recommendations based on our preferences. We chose steamed dumplings, Szechuan shrimp, and chicken fried rice, all spicy. The spice level provided the perfect bite enhancing the dish without overpowering the flavors. The dumpling noodles were light with a flavorful filling. I was impressed with the tenderness of the shrimp and variety and amount of vegetables in the Szechuan Shrimp. Walked in to place an order for pickup. First impressions was a clean restaurant. Lots of decorations. Lots of different food choices ranging from noodles, fried rice, to popular Chinese dishes. I ordered the broccoli chicken, lettuce wraps, and gyoza to go. The food was pretty good. Lots of onions in the lettuce wraps (not a fan of onions), but that was ok. It was still well prepared and full of flavor. The broccoli chicken was typical, but still flavorful as well. And the gyoza was pretty good. Can get these steamed or pan fried. I chose pan fried, and the sauce they use is decent as well. If I am in the mood from some Chinese food, I would go here again. read more

The Hot and Sour soup is now sweet, the chili oil has an herbal flavor to it that did not complement my meal and the chicken chop suey lacked flavor. I used to love Old Peking but now I refuse to eat here because of how I was treated earlier this evening. I ordered and the picture will show my food at 3:11 pm, I forgot a drink so I called them back to add a drink to my order about 3:15 pm. online it also shows ready time the time it took for them to cook my order in for it to be ready for delivery and it was marked for 3:56 pm, about 4: 15 pm I started calling the business because it is just down the street from my house it is not far at all maybe 5 minute drive if that. Because my order had not arrived. The lady on the phone said that she would be contacting the driver and that she would give me a call when she got a hold of the driver. so I waited for her to call me she never did. So 4: 22 I called back and just asked why it was taking so long for my order to get to me she said she didn't know and that she could not contact the driver herself and she doesn't know why he hasn't shown up to my place yet. So I say that I'm going to give it 5 to 10 more minutes, so I do. About 4: 45 still nothing. I called the restaurant and said that I don't want the food anymore because at this point it's not in a temperature controlled area and it's probably just on the floorboard or on the seat of someone's car and I should not be waiting 2 hours for food that is literally 5 minutes away. She said "oh okay" and hung up. 5:10 pm, there's a knock at my door and it's the driver with the order and I specifically came outside and spoke to him saying that I contacted the restaurant already and that I did not want the order because I was not waiting for 2 hours for food that has been sitting out in an uncontrolled environment. Those of you who don't know if certain food is not in a heat controlled environment it starts growing bacteria the longer food is sitting out that is cooked could make you sick. And my food had apparently been in his car for an hour. So there is no way I was going to eat it. Obviously he was bummed and kind of pissed off which he had no right to be if anyone had a right to be angry it was me because here I was wanting to spend money on order that never arrived at the time it said it was going to. However this situation doesn't stop here. Shortly after the app sends me an email pin stating that my order was canceled due to the fact that I never answered my door and that I never showed up to claim the order even though I had called to cancel the order because it was food that had gone bad and I also spoke to the driver whose fault it was for not delivering it on time to his face so for them to say that I never showed up to claim my order I think is absolute insanity. The fact that they would think that I would eat 2 hour old food that has been sitting in a person's car is absolutely ridiculous. I was not going to get sick from eating food that was not controlled properly. If you have gotten sick here this is probably why if you have ordered food from this establishment and you have gotten sick it is probably because your food was sitting in someone's car. I will never give business to this place again. read more

My honey likes egg foo young and this place is one if only a few that make it let alone deliver it. It is outstanding. They remodeled and it looks so nice and clean. I went to wash my hands and there was no soap in the dispenser. I told the waitress there was no hand soap in the bathroom to wash hands. She acknowledged my comment. She was friendly at first but when I asked for lemon with my egg drop soup she gave me one dried up slice. The soup had a different taste then I was use too. It was okay. I ordered the lunch special that came with the soup. I ordered bbq pork Lo Main, it was a really good serving size for lunch portion and the price was great. I had water to drink. Over all it was good. THE SERVICE ON THE OTHER HAND!!!! Horrible! our waitress was so rude!!! She fround at us and even rolled her eyes when I asked for chili oil. I know I was not being rude nor was my friend. We didn't know why she was being so rude to us. I let that dictate my hunger and I lost my appetite. This will be the last on my list if I ever go back.
