Barbys Roast Peace Sandwich
Paul L.

Vegetarian comfort food out of a small old time camping trailer parked outside a brewery? Need anymore be said? Okay, it's a review so, yes. The Barby's Roast Peace Sandwich, thin sliced scratch made seitan stuffed in a sesame bun, with onions and vegan cheese, is incredibly satisfying. The Veganer Schnitzel, scratch-made seitan thin cut and breaded, is another winner. Finally, the French fries. I rarely eat fries and have never written about fries. Fries are pretty much fries. Not much to say about fries. Well, I'm wrong. These may have been the best fries I've ever had. The balance between heft, crunch, and texture elevates these fries to gourmet level for me. I never thought I would say that about fries. Tucson surprises me yet again in a good way.

Spicy Fricken Sandwich

The Barby's Roast Peace and Spicy Fricken Chickn sandwiches are both great. Wish I had come with more of an appetite because the Sonoran Dog looked really good too. It's always great to find a fully vegan menu in Tucson but even better when they have unique menu items and you can bring them into Screwbean next door to eat. Will definitely be back for more.

Enjoyed this spot today. Ordered a few items on the menu. The grilled cheese was really cheezy. The bread is what made it stand out. Same for the Roast Peace sandwich. Not stingy at all the protein at all. Very filling and flavorful. A must try in Tucson

This is definitely my first time going here and I was totally surprised. I was surprised first that I found the place because they're right behind the brewery. You can order food from the brewery and they will get it to you, but you have to find it and they will deliver it to the restaurant as well. The vegan comfort food was such a delicious and amazingly tasty food that I will definitely be back. The gentleman that was there was so friendly and helpful with ordering for my first time. if you are looking for a great plant-based getaway from the norm definitely visit here. Even if you're not vegan, you will love this place!

Crispy fried pickles and homemade ranch

ALL vegan menu and food truck located right outside the Screwbean brewing co. Location, -The food we ordered was fantastic, one of the best Seitan spicy crispy chickun sandwiches I've had, big huge crispy patty, finely sliced lettuce, and yummy fluffy bun. Also had the Philly cheese steak sandwich that was hearty and packed full, along with the crispy lightly breaded fried pickles with homemade ranch, yum! Finally, we also thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate-peanut butter milk shake that was knock our socks off delicious!!! :P Service was friendly, kind, and very prompt, with every item made to order! Nice blocked off petite outdoor table sitting area with quiet surroundings. I truly can't wait to come back to this little gem! :D

Love this little oldies themed diner that's right outside local bar MotoSonora Brewery. The owner is a hard worker, he makes all the order fresh and most of the food it house made. On the busier nights there can be a bit of a wait, we'll worthwhile and while one is relaxing and waiting, they can enjoy the space and drinks of Moto. Classic favorites like fries, shakes and a chicken sandwich or spice things up with the fried pickles... a personal top fave. Totally vegan friendly. Really delicious comfort food.

Substance Diner's new spot on Park and 10th

Great vegan diner food, we can always rely on Substance for the good stuff. Best vegan Sonoran dogs we've ever found. Thick diner fries that are seasoned great, and great vegan ranch. We love their new spot behind Screwbean Brewery, I hope it serves them well! We always go out of our way to find Substance Diner. Yum!

Had this yesterday at MotoSonora Brewery. It was stellar! I had the Mushroom Philly Cheezesteak Sandwich, and was super impressed. They have their act together too. All you need to do is get the QR code off the table in the brewery, place your order, and go pick it up after they page you. Nice to see people actually using technology for a change! The cheese steak was generous in size, and tasted amazing. The toppings were a bit expensive, but that's just what restaurants do I guess. I'd definitely have this again. It's great to know I can get such amazing food at a great brewery!

Fried pickles

Absolutely delicious diner inspired vegan food truck. The food is made to order and worth the wait. I opted for the fried pickles, which were a generous portion for $7 and a side of ranch. I also ordered the substance burger and it had this carnivore fooled! Full of flavor, loaded with toppings and cooked to perfection. 10/10 would order both items again and I can't wait to! If I could prepare vegan food this good, I'd eat it everyday.

The Birria Munchies Truck - South side food truck park at the TVSM - Sat 7/2024

The Birria Munchies Truck

Birria Munchies Truck - A Total Hit…read more Birria Munchies Truck pulled up to my apartment complex on Tuesday, and let me tell you, the hype was real. They sold out fast, and when they came back on Thursday, I made sure I was first in line no way I was risking missing out twice. Their menu is incredibly easy to read, streamlined, and straight to the point: it's all about the birria. They keep the payment process simple too, cash or card, no drama, just efficiency. I ordered a birria taco and a mulita, which is basically a double-tortilla birria quesadilla situation, and both were absolute standouts. Prices are on point, especially for the quality. You can literally smell the birria before you even get close to the truck. The meat is juicy and seasoned perfectly; you can taste every layer of flavor. And the cheese? I'm convinced they're using Oaxaca cheese because it is incredibly rich and melts just right. I'm not sure where their permanent spot is, but if you ever see Birria Munchies Truck out in the wild, do yourself a favor and stop. This truck is absolutely worth chasing down. Thank you, Birria Munchies! See you next time you swing by

Cool Runnings Jamaican Food Truck - Oxtails plate

Cool Runnings Jamaican Food Truck

Excellent authentic food…read more The jerk chicken was really tasty and superb. It comes with steamed veggies: cabbage, carrots, onions. It also came with rice which was good. I also got a Jamaican pop--Cola Champagne. Really good stuff. You just have to ignore food truck prices and bite the bullet to bite the food. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I've had some disappointing experiences with mediocre Jamaican cuisine in the past, so I'm gun-shy…read morewhen it comes to leaving my comfort zone and trying it at all. I've seen this trucked posted up at The Pit for a while, and I've heard good things, so I went full send and tried the oxtails. They came with plantains, rice and peas, and steamed veggies. The oxtails were perfectly cooked and fall-off-the-bone tender. Great flavor! Delicious plantains, rice, and veggies. What a stacked meal. I grabbed the bag and was surprised by how heavy it was. Definitely enough for 2. This was next level from what I've had in the past, and I look forward to visiting again and trying more.

This truck is owned by Dante's Fire's, Ken Foy…read more So first a story on how they came up with the name. Sam Fox of Fox Concept Restaurants (Wildflower, Blanco, Zinburger, Culinary Drop Out) told Ken Foy of Dante's Fire upon opening his Culinary Drop Out directly across the street that "I'm going to put you out of business so fast..." Not too kind nor professional of words to a fellow chef. Well, Dante's Fire is still open and going strong. So Chef Foy decides to do a food truck. So in a slap in the face to "Culinary Dropout," he names it "Culinary Graduate." I think that's funny. Lost some respect for Sam Fox. So, you look at this food truck's menu and you salivate at every item. The worst part of this truck is having to decide what you are going to order. Part of the problem is that the menu items are $10 a pop or more. Not cheap. I decided to go baseline and tried the Sexy Grilled Cheese. Delicious combination of flavors. My only disappointment was the way the bread was grilled. Uneven. Still had plenty of ungrilled white real estate. Not grilled to perfection as my former favorite food truck, Burgerrito (since moved to Tennesee), could do. That will be my bar of standard for grilled sandwiches forever. The garlic fries were good and I enjoyed them. I was disappointed that he was out of the tomato herb potato chips. I can't remember his name, but I sure enjoyed service from the employee. He was super friendly, passionate about the truck, and energetic. Follow them on Facebook for days of service and location. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I can't imagine surviving that hot box in Tucson heat (looks like no AC inside). The folks are incredibly nice and I learn that this is a venture of newly minted Tucson Iron Chef 2022 Ken Foy, who operates the acclaimed Dante's Fire restaurant. Now I get where the inspiration for the eclectic Sammie's came from. I still love the Dirty Pablo - just don't mistakenly call it a "Dirty Sanchez". Go look it up!
