She got the daily special which was a potsticker inspired noodle dish. WOW!!!! Absolutely amazing. It was sweet and savory with lots of flavor and yummy vegetables. I ordered the biscuits and gravy because it is my favorite dish EVER. Urban Fresh did not disappoint. The homemade biscuits were fantastic, with chive mixed in throughout. I could have eaten an entire bowl of the gravy and not been disappointed! It was so so so delicious. I was nervous bc it was coconut based but it all came together very balanced and I could not detect any coconut. I also ended up getting the sweet heart juice which has beets, carrots, ginger. It was so good!!!! Chauncey blended it as soon as I ordered. He pulled out the ingredients in front of me so it doesn't get fresher than that!! Please support local! The owners are really doing something special here and I would definitely come back to enjoy more things on the menu.

When I was new to town, the owner actually came out, chatted with me, and gave me a whole list of places to check out, people to meet, and things to do. It was such a welcoming moment that I've made a point to pay that forward to every new-to-town person I meet. Looking back, Urban Fresh was one of my very first experiences here -- and it set the bar. Fresh juices, house rolls, rotating specials, and all those scratch-made sauces keep things exciting every visit. Cozy vegan oasis energy tucked into a cute downtown cove, and still one of my consistent go-tos. The African hot sauce is my fav!

First, we have been to here many times but often get food to go because it is so busy and we are usually on our bikes. So we know the food is excellent. W also go to various places at the Mercado, so we know what the patio is like. Our friends have never been here and were craving burritos and tacos, and they had their dog with them, so we decided to try the patio dining, and it was amazing. The food was excellent. The three levels of spicy salsa were perfect for everyone's pallet. The tacos were amazing with fresh veggies and perfectly prepared eggs and potatoes. The burros had fresh tortillas that were overstuffed with eggs, potatoes and various meat. All of them tasty and fresh. The guacamole was not too heavy on the cilantro and had some nice acid from the lime. The elote was flavorful and not too creamy. The horchata and spiked eggnog were wonderfully flavorful. Everything by left people saying yum! The pups loved the attention from everyone, the patio was busy but had a good turnover pace. We were fortunate with another people day in Tucson so it was lovely to sit outside. If you love robust and flavorful Mexican food, outdoor casual dining that is perfect for dogs, and a spot that is lively and creates community, this is a great spot for Seis dinning!

The burritos, once full and well-made, are now noticeably smaller and lacking ingredients, despite higher prices. This decline in quality and value is hard to overlook. A pleasant surprise! We were near downtown on a sleepy Monday morning, and hoped to find a place to…read moregrab a breakfast. My wife pulled out her trusty phone, where she soon was directed to the highly-rated Raptor Canyon Cafe. So off we went. A warm and sincere greeting was the first of many pleasant things that we would experience in the next 45 minutes or so. The attitude and warmth of the staff here is exceptional. One really feels appreciated and welcomed while here. (*at least, my wife and I did) The place is decorated with a cute desert-Southwest vibe. A large building-sized mural of Father Kino mounted upon his rock-pony, is framed by the cute windows that look out on the quiet downtown streets. "Comfortable, with a slight splash of a mid-1970's Tucson cafe" is the energy I felt as we dined. One of my favorite things in the place is a steel-welded hawk figurine that is perched above the stately kitchen door. I imagined him tapping gently as he sat above the busy floor. And quoth the raptor, "The quesadilla is fy-orre". (Yes, I know, "floor", and "fire" don't really rhyme.) I never said I could spit fire (street lingo for being able to rhyme well.) My wife broke-character and ordered a breakfast sandwich. She normally goes for something more exotic, but as it turns out, this choice was a hit. Sometimes, simple things can offer great pleasures-and her egg and bacon filled biscuit offered proof of this statement. I listened to the imagined whisper of the watchful hawk, and decided to follow his raptorial wisdom/advice. Soon, the bacon quesadilla was placed before me (see photo). I added a splash of the locally produced hot sauce offered with a bit of ketchup and it all came together beautifully. The textures of the grilled tortilla; the barely not too hot melted cheese, and the crispy thick slices of bacon were as close to perfection that plate of breakfast could come. It really was good-eating in the neighborhood. We both ordered the fried potatoes with peppers and onions. If you go and don't get one of these, it will be a rookie move. Do not forget to order this side...esta muy bueno! It is actually a lot of food, and my better-half and I agreed that we could have split the dish. But, as we stood to say our good-byes and thank you's, neither of our plates had any evidence that fried potatoes had recently rested upon them. They actually looked like they had just been taken from the dishwasher--spot less. All-and-all, this place quickly worked its way into my heart. It's got wonderful chow (just In case I didn't emphasize how tasty is was--it was "really-really-really" good eats). The entire Raptor Canyon's staff shared pleasant demeanors, and the place has a comfortable and welcoming ambiance. Officially, I would categorize this establishment as a, "hidden gem" of Tucson. You have my permission to go there, but please keep it, "on the down-low "so that it doesn't get too popular. (*wink)

I knew this would be true, but the contrast is unnerving because it makes you realize that what you think is "good" Mexican food has been totally distorted by mediocrity. The service was friendly and helpful -- no complaints there. The dining rooms itself seemed a bit overspaced, but certainly was clean and serviceable. Starting with the salsa and chips, well, that alone makes it all worthwhile. Having it homemade and fresh makes all difference. Then onto the steak taco I had, which was flavorful, juicy, plentiful, and had all the right toppings. That was only exceeded by the shrimp tostada I ordered with amazingly fresh and sweet shrimp. Honestly, $10.99 is a steal for this item. My wife was happy with her beef taquitos, although it wouldn't have been my first choice.

The campechana is the standout and easily the reason to come here. Fresh, flavorful, and done right it's seriously to die for. Everything we had was solid and satisfying, especially for a slightly unassuming place. It's not fancy and doesn't try to be, but the food speaks for itself. A great hidden gem for mariscos and an easy 4-star spot I'd happily return to.

Once my husband and I arrived, at 7 o'clock on a Friday a couple weeks ago, we were sat immediately. I ordered a Horchata, I found their take on it, refreshing and unique. The pistachio coconut rim was so different, but good! I ordered the chef board appetizer ,which comes out looking like a work of art. I believe there were four different cheeses/spreads, and multiple arrays of fruits and sides. I loved it! My husband liked his pork belly appetizer too. Our meals were both phenomenal, with my husband, choosing the salmon dish and I had the chicken piccata dish. Fries taste fresh and had the perfect crisp tothem., well, though I didn't expect the olives with my entree, they really helped him make the dish! Even the leftover was amazing. My only complaint from this visit was the $14 curry I ordered which was severely lacking. I love curry and order it often at different places. This one could've used more flavor, and I really wish it would've had more than just potatoes in it. I definitely took it home to work on it. This place is pretty pricey , and boosts are very small menu, but they did have some nightly specials to also order from. Not sure if they move around, but we found them in the downtown area. The gentleman manning the truck, was very friendly and nice. They only had enough of the regular ice cream to do one serving, so I got the Vegan ice cream and my husband got the regular. I must say the Vegan was pretty tasty!
