We were at Tumamoc hill doing repeats on Saturday. The truck was our savior as the heat was crazy. The food selection is fantastic with organic and vegan options. The service was fast and very friendly. The location was right at the base of the hill (so perfect for us). You can't miss it as the truck is purple. read more

Absolutely amazing all-natural smoothies, drinks, and bowls! Peter, the owner, is incredibly attentive and truly cares about quality and detail. They use only real, organic fruit in their smoothies -- no fillers, no junk. I had just finished hiking Tumamoc with a friend when he suggested we stop by. I'm so glad we did -- I practically inhaled my smoothie, it was that good. Just a heads-up: their hours can be a little tricky. They're open at sunrise and sunset on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and also at sunrise on Saturdays -- all right at Tumamoc. . read more

Wow this place is tasty! Check out Facebook and Instagram to figure out where the truck is parked. They are able to accommodate gluten free, dairy free, and vegan - just ask (also the menu is pretty clear about these). Found them at the bottom of Tumamoc Hill on a hot Sunday morning. Purple Tree Truck - Açaí bowl - Food Trucks Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Found the Purple Tree Truck at the Rillito Wash Farmers Market. I've seen the truck in several different locations but didn't have an opportunity to try it out until this visit. I ordered a small Acai Bowl which cost $5. I thought was fair however, when it came out it fit in a very small plastic cup. It was the size of a cup you'd see at an art gallery that gives out free wine. I felt that the $5 I paid wasn't equal to the size of food I received. The bowl was delicious and fresh though, hence why I gave it four out of five stars.I'll likely go for the large size next time I try out the Purple Tree Truck to hopefully get more for my money. read more

Purple Tree Truck - Acai bowl small size - Food Trucks Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Now I rarely give a whole five stars but Tucson has been showing up and showing out! I peeped this truck on Hotel McCoy's IG page and purposely sought it out to 1. Support a black food truck owner! 2. Try my first Acai bowl and he did not disappoint. $6 for a small bowl of freshness! If I had time to track him down every morning, I would. The fresh fruit, the individual ingredients: honey, pumpkin flax, granola, coconut flakes for that crunch, yes, Yes, YES give me more. SN: the little girl who I assume if his daughter is too cute, the cashier. read more

Local! Fresh! Organic! Nutritious! Delicious! 5 things I look for in a 5 star review! While walking the Rillito farmers market, I saw the Purple Tree truck. The friendly owner popped his head out the serving window and asked if I had any questions. Hey now! I am a foodie from Portland, OR. Of course I had questions. Owner had the answers and served up the Acai bowl. It was a warm winter day and the Acai bowl hit the spot. Good combination of berries, fruits and granola. I'm looking forward to trying the ice cream, smoothies, coffee and everything on the menu. read more

Stopped here after conquering Tumamoc Hill on a weekday night and this place was a life saver! I was completely depleted and needed something nourishing and healthful and like an answer to low-blood sugar prayer, there they were! I had the small acai bowl and it was the perfect size for the $5 price tag. The guy in the truck was super nice and asked me if I wanted everything that came in the bowl or had any questions about the ingredients. The bowl came out lightning fast and everything was fresh and delicious; I devoured it in less than 5mins! Would definitely stop in again post-TH workout! read more

Purple Tree Truck - açaí - Food Trucks Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Long overdue but definitely worth it! Purple Tree is the definitive food truck in town for all things healthy, organic and cool! Two great owners who are always available to answer any questions you may have (like me - clueless about Acai) and they will adjust any menu item to meet your specifications. Best place to catch them is on Sunday mornings at the Rillito Farmers Market. You can get your full healthy shop on and stop by the truck for a nice treat afterwards. And who knows, you may even run into me and Nino hanging out as well! read more

I had been wanting to try this place every time I saw it at the heirlooms farmers market at Rillito Park on Sunday's. I finally got to try it on A Sunday when we stopped for a pit stop from riding out bikes on the river walk to check out the farmers market. There wasn't a line which was very nice and my açaí bowl came out instantly. I ordered the small organic açaí multi berry blend. That Sunday was a warm day and it was nice to have something to cool down too. I appreciate their location at that farmers market because the other food options aren't refreshing and light like this was. read more

I like visiting Purple Tree Truck when they're on campus for an açaí bowl. I opt to pick them over Jamba Juice to support local. The açaí itself isn't too sweet (in a good way). There's a generous amount of granola and it's crunchy! However, compared to other açaí bowls around Tucson, there isn't as much fruit, especially for the price. If you pay with card, there's a small fee. A large açaí is $8.25 (including the fee). For the same price, you get more value (more toppings) at other places like Pure Love Juice and Berry Devine. The owner of the truck is super friendly though! I'd like to try more of his menu items in the future. read more

Purple Tree Truck - Large acai bowl: the perfect thing to keep you cool on a hot summer afternoon - Food Trucks Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

I ran into this truck on UofA campus and got really excited! Andre was extremely friendly to me and I ordered a small Acai bowl. I've been to Goodness and tried theirs before but tbh I like Purple Tree better. Their granola and consistency is better, goodness has a lot of toppings which sometimes I avoid haha... It's really refreshing and sweet! I'll definitely order again. read more

Yaaaaaaasssssss! FINALLY I can get my acai bowl groove on in Tucson! About. Darn. Time. I was craving an Acai bowl and desperately needed my fix so I went on the hunt and found this truck parked by Main Gate Square (University and Park) - right around lunchtime on Monday. The bright purple truck is hard to miss! (There is plenty of parking there so you can grab food quick, if you're on the run!) Andre (the owner) was kind and patient as I read through the menu to decide what I wanted; he asked me many thoughtful questions before making recommendations for ways to personalize my acai bowl. I ordered the small Acai bowl, (acai with organic granola, strawberry, banana, coconut shavings, honey and Hemp seed. There were many other add-ins available - including cacao, hemp seed, bee pollen, peanut butter, mango and chia seeds, but I kept it simple for the first time. Once ordered, It took less than five minutes to make, and was worth every minute of the wait - this was the best acai bowl I've ever had. The acai was deep purple and finely mixed with other berries to create a deliciously smooth treat. The granola was fresh and layered perfectly so that it didn't get soggy. The fruit on top was fresh and beautifully arranged. I was very impressed! It truly was a beautiful bowl to behold - I can tell that Andre takes pride in his work! I ordered the small ($5.50), and actually, I found that to be a perfect size for me - but, if you're looking for a serious meal, perhaps the large would be more appropriate ($7.50). Also, for my future orders (which will most certainly be happening!) I will probably ask for a little less honey as I found it made the bowl a little too sweet for my taste. This is a great business; I will definitely visit this truck in the future.... you should, too! Be warned though: if you goto the Facebook page for this business to locate where the food truck is, it will not give accurate directions/instructions! Best bet is to call ahead and confirm their location. An added bonus: Andre will even get a head start on your order for you so it's ready when you arrive. :) read more

It was my first time having an acai bowl and I absolutely loved it! I have always seen this truck parked at U of A and I'm so glad I finally tried it. I thought it was expensive but it was a good mini lunch. I will be buying one again soon! The bananas and strawberries on top were so GOOD read more

Purple Tree Truck - Small acai bowl without shaved coconut on top - Food Trucks Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

My favorite thing about this truck, aside from the fact that it provides healthier whole-food options, is that they know who they are catering to. I have most definitely seen this truck outside of Tumomoc upon occasion. This amusing observation aside, they parked outside of work and promised something the walk to QT couldn't: real food. The acai bowl provided to the customer in front of me looked absolutely beautiful. Not wanting to pay as much when I had my own food back at the office, I settled on a smoothie. I subbed out the coconut milk for almond and happily welcomed the beverage after feeling my face melt in the June sunlight. The wait for your food is a bit disheartening, but fully justified when you realize the amount of time and effort the truck's hand-crafted food takes. It appears to take pride in quality and provides a good product. A bit pricier than I would have liked, but with the promise of good ingredients. I enjoyed this food truck and am happy to see healthy options provided. Good spot for refreshing fruit. read more

Love this truck! The Acąi bowl is the best I have ever had. Healthy and delicious, I recommend this to everyone.

Great, refreshing açai bowls. Good prices. Friendly customer service.

If you want absolute mind blowing deliciousness, refreshing, nourishing and healthy in the same dessert there is nothing in town that can top the Purple Tree Truck. The acai bowl with everything recommended on it is my first suggestion, but you won't go wrong with any of the smoothies either. Super cool owner, local and family owned - I am telling you - you won't regret trying them out! Plus, lucky for us - it never gets too cold here - so we can enjoy this deliciousness through the winter too. Yumz. read more

I am not sure why this has so many stars... Here is what I know :) Great stuff: everything is clearly made fresh and it is organic which is a plus in today's world. The iced coffee was pretty yummy and so was the acai bowl. The people working in the truck were super nice. Needs Improvement: we had to change our order 2 times because they were out of items (I totally get busy days but it was only 2:30 and being out of 2 items shuts down a good part of your menu which stunk). As yummy as the food items were they were tiny. The acai bowl was $6 and the bowl wasnt even filled up half way with the acai part of the bowl which I find to be a rip because thats the part I am really paying for. The iced coffee was great too but the tiny cup it came in was not worth it. I know that this is a small business I dont like giving so so reviews for small businesses but I really think it could be better for the prices. read more

This food truck is delicious. The acai is a deep purple, the honey is delicious, and they put granola at the bottom of the cup!! I love this truck !!! They are always very so nice and I love the taste, I have been to other places and nothing compares to here

Acai bowls are becoming more available in Tucson! It took me a while to finally get around to trying this food truck, mostly because I could not catch it when it was on campus. However, when I finally was able to make it to the truck, I was not disappointed. I had an acai bowl and it was freshly made with fresh fruit! I enjoyed it, it was not too sweet and the granola to fruit ratio was on point. I would have hoped the small would have been a tiny bit bigger, but overall it was well worth the wait to have finally been able to try the Purple Tree food truck. I will be going back to try the other things on their menu. read more

I love this food truck! The ingredients are so fresh and nourishing and leave you feeling energetic. The pricing is very fair and you get a lot of goodness in each serving.
