We came in right before closing on a Sunday night and instead of shushing us out we were welcomed and told to take our time and enjoy our food, and we definitely did! One great aspect of this experience is that the portion sizes are huge. Chicken katsu, macaroni salad, two scoops of rice were are delicious and plentiful which is fantastic for $11, and even at closing the restaurant was clean and well taken care of.

Coming from one true hammah from da 808 dis place is better den Hawaiian bros. Almost feels like da aina. Da music is not all that but i recommend freestyle from topshakaz being played 24/7.

Instead of eating lunch alone Costco during a Costco run we thought we'd try this Hawaiian BBQ and pass on pizza. It was very busy, both drive through and inside, so obviously a popular lunch spot. We did two plates, one Katsu Chicken and one Mixed Kahu. The portions are huge, we could have split one for sure... super tasty and clearly made to order. Liked the self serve teriyaki and katsu dipping sauce station.

Amazing amazing food loved every second of it tasted delicious and a very good price as well My mouth was very happy to taste. The flavors they offered. The service was very helpful and quick and it was a nice clean restaurant and I had no problem finding seating. I will be going back!

This is my daughter's plate. She doesn't do cooked veggies, so she opted out of the cabbage but I ate plenty for both of us!

We finally got around to eating here and wow, I'm just sorry we didn't add it to our list sooner! The place is quite small inside but adequate. It was clean and tasteful. It's nice they have a drive-thru option too. The staff were friendly and our food was done quickly. My husband, daughter and I decided to order the family meal so we could try several things and take some home. We opted for the katsu chicken, kalua pork and the BBQ chicken. All entrees came in their own container on a bed of cooked cabbage. There was also a container of rice and a container of macaroni salad. Everything was beyond delicious and the helpings were very generous. I feel we really got out money's worth, which in this day and age is unusual. The katsu chicken is the best I've ever eaten. It was cooked to perfection, moist inside and crunchy outside and the katsu sauce was delicious. The chicken even retained it's crispness after being microwaved later at home. The kahlua pork was super tasty! Nice and smoky and very tender. Yummers! The BBQ chicken was mouth-wateringly delicious! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. We will definitely be returning and trying more dishes, which will be difficult because the first three entrees we tried were excellent.

Kalua Combo: Kalua pork, chicken katsu, rice, and macaroni salad

Surprisingly good! Portions are large and affordably priced. The kalua pork was tender and moist, and the chicken katsu was a good size, thickness, and except for the very edges, juicy. I'm not much of a macaroni salad person, so I thought that was just fine. Rice was a little dry, but not terrible. It's counter service fast(ish) food, so you're not really there for the ambiance, but the dining room was clean. My only complaint would be the staff behind the counter talking smack to each other, frequently punctuated with mild expletives. Not a huge deal, but it would be more professional to not talk that way in front of customers.

Service is only at the counter at this place and it's not good. The older Asian man behind the counter was rather condescending actually. He will talk to you like you're dumb if you have any questions about their menu. Their restroom had no paper towels, but the dining area seemed pretty clean. Food was just meh and not made to order. Their chicken katsu was cool to touch and their katsu sauce - watery. Short cut to save money it seems. Teriyaki beef wasn't bad but again, room temp. Mac salad tasted like tuna salad for whatever reason and the rice was old dry. We've grown accustomed to getting freshly cooked Hawaiian food from L&L and appreciate hot food cooked to order. Three things they can improve to up their game: customer service, cold food, and that awful watery sauce.

All that's left... for now.

I lived in Hawaii for years, so I don't throw this compliment around lightly. This was hands-down the best Spam musubi I've ever had. The rice was perfect, the Spam was perfectly seasoned, and somehow every bite tasted like a quick trip back to the islands. I fully intended to eat one and be done. Instead, I spent the rest of the meal wondering how many more I could reasonably order without embarrassing myself. 11/10. Broke the scale.

Gave this place a try again and wow, highly recommend! Aloha plate is the way to go. Kalua pork- must try. It was 50 cents extra but very worth it. The flavor was just right and the meat is tender and juicy. Plus the portion was super generous. The bbq chicken and katsu pork was also delicious! Overall love the prices here with generous portion portions, fresh veggies and hot soft rice. And this time around the food was ready so fast! Highly recommend and I will be returning!

Close to Costco and a good place to get a low cost Neal for Hawaiian flare. Don't know if there was a problem with the cooling system but the day I was there they had a portable cooler running. The food was hot when I received it and we also had vegetable spring rolls which were also pretty good. The space was small and a bit cramp but many people got their orders to go. Getting out back to the main street was a bit challenging.

Pretty good! You can usually tell if a Hawaiian BBQ spot is solid based on their mac salad and this one did not disappoint. We visited their drive thru and got their Hawaiian Mix plate and Kalbi plate. The meat was tender and seasoned well. Didn't care for the sauce cups but also didn't feel like we needed it. Definitely would come back!

Chicken, Beef, short rib, rice, macaroni salad and underneath cabbage & broccoli

Since I needed to go to Costco, I decided to give this place a try. Clean inside. Ordering is done at the counter. The man at the counter was pleasant and friendly. I asked what I should try. His recommendation was the BBQ plate, BBQ chicken, BBQ beef and beef short rib with cabbage & broccoli, rice and macaroni salad. I asked to sub teriyaki chicken for the BBQ one. Done. The teriyaki chicken was good, the beef (both kinds) was dry and borderline tasteless. One pet peeve I have is food served in takeout containers (at least they weren't styrofoam) and plastic utensils. Servings are generous, I just wish I chose differently. A couple sitting next to me had fried shrimp that looked really good. If I ever go in there again, I will order it. They serve Pepsi products and since I hate Pepsi and want Coke products, I drank water. Prices are okay given portion sizes. My plate was just under $17. For dine-in options, please use real plates, not take-out containers. Same thing with plastic utensils. I don't do take-out as I want my meal fresh from the kitchen. If food is served in styrofoam containers, I won't eat there. These were some kind of plastic/paper recyclable containers and too small for the amount of food stuffed in them. I don't really think this is true Hawaiian BBQ.

When looking for some stuff-your-face, downright irresistible Hawaiian bbq to fix your craving, you can find me at Kahu. This spot gives you everything you need and more, from the juicy golden brown chicken to the sweet and succulent glazed beef rib everything you can stab with a fork from this restaurant is mouth watering, with huge portions that made even someone like me wonder if I bit off more than I could chew. Inside you'll find a simple fast-casual style cashier with friendly staff who promptly take your order and give you your order number. My one critique would be the hard to grasp menu layout. Seating is limited but oddly cozy, and the tables are always kept clean. The condiment situation can get cramped when busy but this BBQ is worth any struggle. Will be coming back for years to come

The portions are amazing and will last me for more than one meal every time. Although I just found out about the new mini sizes which are great for smaller budgets and smaller stomachs if you're not looking to have leftovers. All of the options are so great, it can be hard to choose. But you can't go wrong with any of them. I haven't tried the pita items yet because I just can't break away from the poke bowls! I usually get my meals to go so I can't comment on the experience of dining in. I will say that just last week when I was there ordering a mini bowl to go, I was really appreciative of the staff who were happy to answer all of my questions about the different options for those, since I was used to just ordering bigger bowls with toppings that I chose. The main gate location is centrally located and convenient even if you're just in the area for an event.

Fine dining with a New Orleans flare. Great value for quantity and quality…read more Simply amazing atmosphere!!

I didn't realize this was a chain until I looked up the menu on line…read more Friend and I walked in to a somewhat dark place that's very large. The walls have (fake) graffiti on them; for some reason I thought of the Florida coast food shacks. The place was pretty empty for a Saturday lunch time. Our server (Maricella? Aricella?) arrived immediately, took our drink orders and then gave us enough time to look over the menu. She came back and took our orders and was very knowledgeable about the food. Friend ordered the (cold) lobster roll and onion rings; I ordered the shrimp basket with seasoned fries and cornbread. After a 10 minute or so wait, our food arrived. Friend said the lobster was good but a touch weak on the intensity of lobster flavor (Florida lobster perhaps?). Friend is from the coast in Massachusetts and so knows lobster. The onion rings were really good. My shrimp basket was perfect. The seasoned fries were much like the ones at Blakes Lottaburger and very good. The shrimp were breaded and fried with the tail on. The corn bread was tender and a touch sweet. Our drinks were kept full. The, I'm guessing, manager stopped by twice to see if we needed anything which was nice. This is a nice, hidden gem near downtown. The menu has so many options that everyone can find something to eat. We'll go back. I want to try more things on the menu.
