Chicle Mary's Chicken Presse
Fernando R.

We've dined at PY Steakhouse several times over the years and have always considered it a special place for memorable evenings. Naturally, when it came time to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary, we didn't hesitate to make a reservation here. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a special and joyful evening turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience that left us feeling incredibly let down. We arrived on time for our 6:30 PM reservation and were promptly seated. The evening started on the right foot--our server was friendly, the atmosphere was elegant as always, and our appetizer came out quickly and was enjoyable. We were optimistic and excited to celebrate. However, everything went downhill after the appetizer. We waited well over an hour--nearly 70 minutes--without receiving our entrées, with no communication or updates from our server or any staff. During that time, our drinks were never refilled, and no one came to check on us or offer so much as a glass of water. For a fine-dining restaurant that prides itself on attentive service, this was completely unacceptable. When the entrées finally arrived, the disappointment deepened. I ordered the chicken, which came out visibly overcooked on the outside yet still bloody in the center. Not only was this off-putting, it was unsafe. My husband ordered the braised short rib, which has been a favorite of his in the past, but what arrived was dry, bland, and tough--completely lacking in flavor or texture. It was as if the dish had been sitting too long and had lost any of the rich, slow-cooked quality it's supposed to have. We expected some acknowledgment or response from the staff, but no one asked how our food was, no manager came by, and not a single attempt was made to apologize or make things right. At no point did anyone seem aware--or care--that this was an anniversary dinner or that we were clearly dissatisfied. What makes this all the more disappointing is that PY is not a cheap restaurant. The pricing reflects what should be a premium experience--high-quality food, attentive service, and professionalism. On this visit, we received none of that. The service was inattentive, the wait time was unreasonable, and the food quality was shockingly poor. The value just did not match the price. We left feeling not just disappointed, but actually hurt. We had chosen PY Steakhouse because we trusted it to help us create another beautiful memory. Instead, we spent our anniversary waiting, ignored, and served undercooked and poorly prepared meals. We've had positive experiences here in the past, and we truly hope this was an anomaly. But it's hard to ignore how completely the ball was dropped on what should have been a wonderful evening. It takes a lot for us to leave a one-star review, but this experience unfortunately earned it.

Warm beef tallow oil and fresh herbs syringed herbs at table side to release flavors then immersed into the tallow oil is just one of the many attention to detail, impeccable service, and flavor experienced at dinner. Between the appetizers, fried calamari & shishitos and braised pork belly, the calamari was my favorite- but I would order both again. The calamari portion size could be a meal on its own. The ribeye was cooked as ordered and tender. The potato and celeriac pave was amazing and the leftovers taste just as good the next day. Excellent cocktail, spirits and wine selections. Service was attentive, friendly and focused of providing a great experience. Cozy and elegant ambiance. It is located inside a casino. Complimentary valet parking and a parking garage is available. Definitely will return.

We decided to come here for Christmas Eve dinner, wanting to dress up and enjoy a meal in a beautiful setting. Cocktails: Tyme Well Spent and The Last Word were excellent first drinks; I enjoyed them both, though Tyme Well Spent was slightly sweeter. PY Paloma was smoky, and he liked it. Whoopsie Daisy was balanced--not too sweet or overpowering--and pretty good. Pisco Sour was overly sweet, with too much pineapple. Honey Pot was just okay--also sweet, but not as cloying as the Pisco Sour. Food: The amuse-bouche was a good start. The oysters were fantastic--fresh with no bad aftertaste. I loved the cute and fun ghost pepper, habanero, and raspberry mignonette droppers, which weren't overly spicy. Even the ghost pepper was manageable (said my dinner companion). The beef tartare was good, though parts of it were inedible due to too much tendon. The Filet Mignon was ordered medium rare but came out medium well and was soggy, as if it had been sitting in water. The texture and flavor were awful. The duck had an incredible sauce, but the meat itself had an odd aftertaste. The lobster mashed potatoes were good, as was the side of beets. While the setting was beautiful and a few dishes stood out, the overall experience was mixed, especially with the inconsistencies in the main courses.

Sourdough bread roll, honey butter, and amuse bouche

This is a fantastic upscale restaurant! The staff really take care of you, and they go the extra mile to make sure that you have an enjoyable and memorable experience. I even got a little history on the meaning of the restaurant name. The PY stands for Pascua Yaqui for the Native American tribe. I was told that "Pascua" is Spanish for Easter, so they call themselves the "Easter people." Fun little tid bit! But the waiters come around with freshly sliced limes and cucumbers to add to your water. They start you off with rolls of warm sourdough bread with a honey butter spread and a small shot-sized amount of amuse bouche. The amuse bouche was light and creamy with a cucumber-like freshness. I had the wagyu beef tartare as a starter and the jumbo diver scallops for my main course. Before my food was brought out, the waiter brought over some melted clarified butter and torched some fresh rosemary that he cut into the butter, for use as a light topping to the seafood dish. I'd never seen that before! The scallops were great, and it's definitely a meal I would order again. I finished off with the vanilla bean crème brûlée, which I had no complaints about. This was a lovely restaurant with lovely service and food!

Service was AMAZING! Brayson was phenomenal. I would give him 10 stars if I could! However.... I have worked in restaurants for years and the chicken looked undercooked. After this was brought to attention the manager they said it was the brining. However the manager never even came by to talk to us about it. I even sent the pictures to chefs I have worked with and they agreed it was undercooked. They offered an anniversary dessert but it never came and we waited 20 minutes. The hosts and the server and server assistant were amazing though!

We visited for our anniversary they made us feel so special. The staff is amazing so respectful so knowledgeable of wine, pairings and dessert wines and food and wine pairings amazing the food was great. I ended up ordering the cioppino. It was absolutely delicious. They were very aware of my food restrictions and of course they made us feel so special! at the end of the nighThey brought out a delicious dessert on the house; for celebrating our 28th anniversary with them. While staying at Casino Del Sol for a conference, we tried PY Steakhouse for dinner. Despite being near a loud area, the restaurant isn't very noisy. The ambiance is very nice - low lights, linen tablecloths, and comfy booths. We were greeted promptly and offered a choice of drink. Then came fresh bread and gruyère breadsticks. The bread had a crusty outside and soft inside that you could slather with butter and salt. The breadsticks had a nice crisp to them and the cheese flavor was definitely noticeable. We were given an amuse bouche of raw tuna on a crisp cracker. I'm not a huge raw tuna fan, but tried a bite and the flavor was mild and fresh. We selected the NY strip, ribeye special, with brussel sprouts and splitting a baked potato. Shortly before our meal arrived, someone came to char a sprig of rosemary and snip little bits into a melted ramekin of butter and beef tallow. Our steaks arrived cooked correctly with a nice sear. We both enjoyed the flavor of the beef and tried some of the infused butter. The staff sliced the potato in half serving each of us one half in a dish with our own plate of toppings - that was very nice of them. I love a good baked potato and this one was cooked nicely and made better with butter and sour cream. The sprouts were roasted beautifully and had no bitterness. They were served with chunks of Tasso ham, roasted pecans in a not overly sweet glaze. It was definitely a hit. We were brought a small caramel truffle each and it was a delicious piece of candy. The chocolate had a nice snap and the caramel was thin and had the right balance of sweet and salt. I would have bought an entire box. We were stuffed but ordered a chocolate lava cake to go. It was packed up along with our leftovers and our server brought over a small coffee cake as an extra treat for the next morning. The ambiance was lovely, the food was tasty and as expected from a nice steakhouse, but the service was just wonderful. All of the staff were friendly, efficient, and wanted to make sure we had a fabulous meal.

If there was a 4.5 option I'd pick that for my experience here. First time coming here for a family birthday dinner and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised how much me and my boyfriend enjoyed this place! We only really had very minimal concerns with our experiences but not bad enough to make me have a negative impression. The location actually feels a little small on the inside, which really gives a nice intimate feeling and very elegant inside. For sure a nicer place that it feels appropriate to dress nicer to. The bread/breadsticks were amazing. It came with a palate cleanser bite of goat cheese that was great. Our family love oysters so 3 of us got an order and they were great! They had a cautious approach to a habanero sauce they make in house that was very nice added to the oysters. Appetizers were so yummy, and our entrees where a great size. I ordered duck and my boyfriend got steak. This place, like other high end steakhouses don't often come with sides with the steak order so consider a side order. Now up until now, we had a great experience. We all ordered dessert and my boyfriend got the chocolate lava cake, and sadly, as nice and light as the cake was, after two attempted orders of the cake, the lava drip never happened. We had the initial order, then they re-made it. We even had our waitress watch as we tried to cut the second cake and even she was surprised. We are unsure why this never panned out but overall, the cake was very good on its own. Our waitress was very nice but sometimes it felt she wasn't really hearing what we told her or maybe her attention was in multiple places but I had to re-say orders to clarify to her. She also didn't come back to our tables often between service and I had to flag others down to clear plates and empty drinks. We will come back. But we won't order the lava cake again. We both agree you are better off with the chilis one if you have the craving!

I love this restaurant, is intimate and so romantic inside . Is located inside casino del sol . Is a perfect restaurant for date night and any celebration. All the hostesses and waiters are super professional and attentive . I have been to this place a couple times already , and it never disappoints . This time we got their special cut of steak I can't remember the name but it was the best steak I've had in a while . And we got some potatoes and brussel sprouts to go with it and both sides were 10/10 . I also tried one of their mocktails which was so delicious.

Great food! Great service! It's nestled inside casino del sol, and a great dinner spot! They have a sommelier that has always given us fantastic wine recommendations, we always take his reccs and save them to buy when we get home. The food is not only good, but also an experience. They offer this rosemary oil that is infused by burning the rosemary in the table . They have had great specials , as well. If there is a wait or you can't get in, you can order their menu from the bar, fyi. And if you are a gambler at the casino and have a players card, you can use your comps/points there. It is not cheap, the sides are ala carte, but it's fair for the quality and service.

Overall my experience here was fine, the music wasn't overly loud, and Olympic coverage was on most of the TV's. Again not sure about at night, but during the day this place was just fine.

The ambience is beautiful, relaxing, and upscale without feeling overly formal. Between the lighting, outdoor seating, and overall vibe of the resort, it makes for a perfect place to unwind and enjoy dinner or drinks with friends and family. We visited on a Friday night, so the restaurant was extremely busy, which clearly showed how popular the place is. They also had live music playing throughout the evening that was absolutely fantastic and added so much to the atmosphere. The music created a relaxing and enjoyable vibe that made the entire evening feel even more memorable. One of the best parts of the experience was the incredible view overlooking the Tucson city lights. It was a perfect night outside, and watching the full moon rise over the Santa Rita Mountains made the setting feel even more special. Between the cool evening weather, the city views, and the live music, the atmosphere was hard to beat and easily one of the most enjoyable dining environments in Tucson. Because of how busy the restaurant was, service was a little slower than expected at times, especially with refills and checking in at the table, but the staff remained friendly, professional, and worked hard throughout the evening despite the large crowd. The food was absolutely the highlight of the night. The pork belly was cooked perfectly with an excellent balance of tenderness and crispness. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the sauce that accompanied it was incredible and really elevated the entire dish. It was easily one of the best appetizers I've had in a while. The Brussels sprouts were another standout item. They were perfectly cooked and fried to give them a great crispy texture without being overdone. The seasoning and flavor combination worked really well, making them addicting and easy to keep eating long after we were full. Overall, Salud offers an amazing atmosphere paired with high quality food that definitely lives up to the reputation of the JW Marriott Starr Pass. Even with the slower service due to how busy they were, the food, ambience, live music, stunning city views, and overall experience made it well worth the visit, and I would absolutely return again.
