I had the Brussel sprouts and they were delicious and cooked in butter scotch. My friend was doing the keto diet and the fish special came on a bed of rice. No problem! A Saturday night dinner for two. First off the service was top notch Scott and Kevin both awesome to have help us. Bread and water service all good. Wagyu beef tartare appetizer was made table side we enjoyed the start. The Braised Beef Shank not as pleasing as we hoped, cooked to falling apart great yet the flavor of over powering rendered beef fat left us not enjoying it. The 8oz filet was cooked perfectly and was well seasoned and tasty. The add on Large Scallops were not to par tonight they carried that taste of ammonia not noticed until on the second one. I'd give PY a second chance but unfortunately last night missed all the boxes. The service and ambiance were great, but for the price, the quality of the food left a lot to be desired My husband ordered the truffled prime ribeye to start and I got the calamari. These were great and the portions were plentiful. We both ordered the 14 oz. ribeye, mine medium, his medium rare. When they brought it out, my hubby asked "are you sure this is the medium rare steak" and they said yes. Well, that was not true and by the time we realized it, we were already into them. This was a lesser problem than the quality of both steaks. Both were super fatty and grisel-y. We know fat is flavor and expected some, but half of both steaks were inedible. My husband ordered the potato pave gratin as his side and that was incredibly good. I got the loaded baked potato which was meh. The butter was so hard it never melted and the skin was too tough to eat. I left most of it. The bill was $180 before tip and included a soft drink and two non-alcoholic beers. It was disappointing. We made reservations for my Mom's birthday dinner. Arrived a little early and was seated straight away. Our waiter Luciano and Kaylee were fantastic! If he wasn't checking on us, she was there to make sure we were OK and filling our drinks. Mom wanted shrimp scampi, but it is only offered as an add-on to a steak so he suggested the shrimp pasta. We ordered steaks. Mom said the shrimp pasta was delicious and was happy he suggested it. Our steaks cut like butter and sides were very good with no complaints whatsoever. When we were done, Kaylee was quick to clear the table and Luciano brought dessert menus telling us that since it was her birthday she received one for free. We recently visited PY Steakhouse this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary and found it to be a great way to cap our celebration for the evening. The steakhouse is located inside Casino del Sol and it is a much more upscale and inviting environment than I anticipated it would be, given the ambiance of some other local casino restaurants. The restaurant doesn't seat too many people and offers a private dining area, as well. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they have limited seating and have made an effort to space out the tables. This actually makes the dining experience feel more intimate since you don't have to listen to loud conversations only 2 feet away. The service was outstanding and PY employs the tag-team service method, so if you have a concern or need to order another drink, you regularly have someone coming by to check on you. The actual food itself was plated beautifully, the portions were generous, and the offerings were seasonably appropriate. PY puts in a lot of effort in offering more locally sourced ingredients and preparing them in a way that feels more true to Tucson. We ended up ordering squash toast, a NY strip, the filet mignon, 3 sides (baby carrots, mac and cheese, and truffle fries), and the chai creme brulee. My husband also ordered foie gras with his steak and instead of it being the more traditional pate, it was a grilled slice of the liver. It was interesting, but blended quite well with the rest of the meal. The only negative aspect of the meal was the chai creme brulee was a little bitter, but that's certainly not the worst thing that could've happened with an extravagant meal. We were told this was one of the better restaurants in Tucson, so we were looking forward to a good meal. We eat out quite a bit and definitely like nice steak restaurants. When you walk up it looks nice enough, but then things start to unravel. From the start I was apprehensive when the host came over and had LONG LONG LONG nails. I mean like 3 inches long. It was totally off putting. Usually when you go to nicer restaurants they are sticklers about details. Having this as their first impression was concerning. We were quickly seated in a nice booth. I will say I enjoyed the decor and restaurant itself. Our server assistant came over to give us water and returned with bread, which was tasty, and an amuse-bouche that amounts to a shot of a banana liquid. It was very ho-hum. It seemed like they were REALLY TRYING to be upscale, but also too trendy. Our server came to ask about drinks. I quickly ordered a martini, but boyfriend was still looking, so she asked I'd she could get mine. This was great, but she didn't clarify if I wanted vodka or gin, so she brought gin. Since I felt bad for not clarifying myself I drank it, but felt like that was a missed detail, since I know it's a common mistake. Boyfriend got some specialty drink. We ordered dinner once we finally got drinks. I do want to say that their bar is slow and it wasn't that busy. I ordered a salad then we ordered entrees. We both got steaks. Salad was fine but a little lacking in any toppings so I kinda just had a big piece of iceberg. I will also point out that they put their salads in a very large, high sided bowl. I'm sure they're trying to look trendy, but it's a nightmare as a diner. I kept having to fish my silverware out of the bowl since it kept sliding off the edge. Not really comfortable when you're trying to have a nice meal. And once again, the girl who ran my salad had long, overly decorated nails. It was very off putting. We got our steaks and I was happy to see a nice bone marrow on our plates. That was a nice touch. We also ordered Brussels Sprouts, which were honestly too sweet. The steaks weren't bad, but they weren't seasoned. The chef was clearly just depending on the fact that they were nice cuts. A little salt and pepper would have been a nice touch, but we liked them. It was all just ok, though. I know we ordered dessert and something with matcha, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was if that tells you anything. We settled up and headed home. As we were walking to the car we both commented that it was ok, but probably no reason to drive all the way down there again. I have to say our server was very nice and so was the server assistant. We weren't mad, but we did both think him addressing us both as Mr and Mrs with boyfriend's last name was awkward. They should probably be a little careful with things like that. first time here and it was just okay. my boo took me for any early birthday celebration. we had a wonderful bottle of wine, and then it took an unusual amount of time to get our food. the fries were cold and meh, but the beef was great. our waiter was pretty slow with us and didn't take multiple hints that we were celebrating a birthday. when he asked if we saved room for dessert, I said I was allergic to almonds. he then brought us a dish that had almonds, which was then replaced with the trio sorbet which was not touched because the flavors were terrible. no birthday celebration with dessert. read more

First visit and I would say there are a few wow factor things that set them above others. Loved the rosemary butter presentation. The sides served in cast iron so your second tasting was as hot as the first. The experience and service are what you would expect and they execute it well. The steak was cooked to perfection and side were shareable and delicious. The win here above all else is the outstanding service and attention to detail accomplished by great food. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly tasted great. One piece had a lot of gristle and blood veins, not to mention that both pieces were 1/4 fat. Who eates all that fat, for the price of the fat it should be edible! The problem is: The chefs DO NOT practice safe and hygienic cooking behavior. I informed the Manager one of the cooks wore his mask under his chin. Sneezing, wiping his nose, hair and face over and over without ever washing his hands!!! In fact. The manager saw this going on. We made reservations for this steakhouse for a Friday evening. The ambiance is very upscale, servers treat you like royalty. We ordered the beef tartare as our appetizer- it was delicious! Decided to go to PY Steakhouse for dinner last night and everything about it was bad. We were first told there were no tables available when it was clear there were very few people in the restaurant. We chose to eat at the bar. When we placed our order we were informed that the kitchen was running "a little behind". That translated to waiting for over an hour to get our food. When the food did finally arrive, the order was wrong and two out of three meals were cold and had to sent back for re-fire. Once we finally got our reheated meals, the steaks were below average for a chain steakhouse and far below average for a place like PY. Last night we chose to celebrate my daughters medical school graduation at PY steakhouse and was utterly dissatisfied and disappointed by the entire experience. The calamari and crab cake appetizer were flat and not flavorful. When it came to entrees 3 steaks were room temperature and the recent graduates steak was over cooked and cold. When it was brought to the attention of the waitress, she said she would refire a new steak for her. When the waitress returned, she brought back the same steak that was heated up. That is absolutely unacceptable, when dining at a high end establishment, one would think they could fire a new steak especially if the first steak was over cooked from the beginning. It ruined her celebration and her outstanding accomplishment of graduating from medical school. She had to eat the cold sides that were order for the table and her steak alone as everyone was done eating. We were not seeking a free dessert, we only wanted our meal cooked correctly the first time. Lack luster response from the manager and was not handled properly. We were excited to try this place for a special occasion, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The wine and the breads were great, however, the truffled prime rib appetizer tasted like dry chuck beef in a very salty sauce. After that I ordered oysters while my husband ordered the cowboy ribeye. The ribeye came out medium after he ordered it "rare," so he politely sent it back. It took almost 30 mins to get a new steak and when it came back it was not edible (very chewy with no marbling that a ribeye should have). While the oysters tasted fine, I ended up getting really sick in the room shortly after dinner. The waitress removed the steak from the bill, but was not remorseful about our bad experiences. For our 22nd anniversary, I wanted to take my beautiful wife out for a very nice dinner and enjoy an upscale dining experience, along with my teenage daughter, who is equally beautiful. These girls are my world and deserve everything and more and normally we go to Flemings, but I wanted to try something different, so I searched around and while this place did not come up as one of the top 10 steakhouses in Tucson, I still wanted to give it a try, something different and special for my girls. Now for the results, but first let us focus on the positives, the staff is very attentive, professional, clear, quick to serve, but by no means rushed and the atmosphere is very pleasant and does have an upscale environment and more like a modern industrial feel, lighting is brighter, while Flemings is more inviting and has a warmth too it. More of what you would expect in an upscale dining establishment or what we enjoy. An evening out with my wife and daughter is always a joy, even if we were out for hotdogs at BKs, which would have been a better meal. Now we get to the unfortunate and disappointing portion of the evening. Keep in mind, my wife and daughter loved my attention to detail and my desire to please them, which was a win for me no matter the meal. However, the meal ... It was not what we expected. We all ordered filet mignon, three sides, their roasted mushrooms, mac 'n cheese and Yukon whipped potatoes. We expected a very nice meal, mainly from the way we were received, from the hostess, to the waiter's assistant and the waiter, all very uniquely poised. The steaks were over-cooked, dry, lacked much of any real flavor, aside from an excessive amount of salt, yet still tender ... odd, I know. The potatoes were very creamy, generous garlic favor, but very salty. The mac n cheese, nice amount of bacon, pasta well cooked, but little or no cheese and yes, excessive amounts of salt. The mushrooms, typically my favorites, were well cooked, well amounts of shallots and garlic, but ... yes, very salty. The presentations of the plates were impressive and could have been prepared for a lovely magazine photo shoot, but in the end, not worth the price of admission. Both my wife and daughter are blunt and direct, yet still loving and caring, and while we fortunately have the means to do so, they sweetly told me that Texas Roadhouse would have provided us a pleasant experience, with a far better steak at fraction of the cost and as usual, we would have enjoyed our evening out. Something to think about, when dining out, it is not where, but who you enjoy it with and how it tastes, and when you consider that you might settle for a mediocre meal at an upscale location or have four meals for the same cost, and leave satisfied, plus bring home a doggie bag for your pooches to also enjoy. I generally only leave reviews when I find value, appreciate service or quite the opposite and tip accordingly. Food for thought and sorry for being truthful and will be our one and only visit. read more

The server Stephanie was more interested in her dinner than her customers. The bartender at the steakhouse was marginally better. Sadly PY was one of thé finest restaurants in Pima County. One of the best steaks cooked to perfection and seasoned to absolute mouth watering taste!!! Had the asparagus also and wow so dam good. Bake potato was ok but hey it was a baked potato. The lobster bisque I had was amazing, everyone a our table had steaks and we where all blown away!!! We also had drinks there which where amazing I had the Cesar and it was one of the best I have ever had! This place was perfect, the service was on point. I've had several dishes at PY and I highly recommend the scallops over anything else. They are served at the perfect temperature and firmness but then you glide a knife through one and realize it's almost buttery soft inside. The taste is incredible with just the perfect amount of sea salt cooked in to the scallops. Seriously the best scallops I can remember having in a very, very long time. We recently tried the saffron seafood chowder that is covered in a great big puff pastry. This dish is not only impressive in appearance but so full of scallops, crab and lobster along with corn and potatoes that it could be a meal in itself. And tasty too!! I really don't think you can go wrong with any dish at PY. The service is absolutely impeccable. We've been lucky enough to have the same server each time we've been to PY. Daniel (oh boy, now I'm not entirely sure on his name and may have to edit this once I verify) is attentive, knowledgeable, and never intrusive. He has an all knowing eye and knows exactly how long to wait before approaching to make sure your meal is perfect. The restaurant has a light, airy feel to it -- the decor is bright and welcoming, though there is somewhat of a formal aura to this place. I felt I should be wearing gem-encrusted stiletto heels with a formal dress. Incidentally, the establishment has no formal dress code. There were folks wearing the range -- suits, mini skirts, baggy jeans. Quite the compilation. Everything seems textured -- the floor, the walls, the semi-thick tablecloth. This is a place that pulls on all senses. We were greeted to a very warm welcome and promptly seated in the private dinning room. Not sure why -- we didn't request it. But it was nice, quiet with a nice view of the racks of wine. Our servers were very attentive, but not in that annoying way. We promptly received our menus, water and, soon thereafter, an amuse-bouche. What fun. It was a lobster-shrimp ceviche with celery and mangoes (at least from what we could gather). Very fresh and light. A perfect start. We ordered two appetizers -- the crab cake and the tuna sandwiches -- and went for the fixed menu which, at $40 per person, was quite the decadent yet reasonably priced meal. The appetizers alone were quite filling. An amazing display, and not at all skimpy with the crab. The tuna sandwiches were served with seared tuna and a light, spicy sauce. Just delicious! We both went for the filet, which was like butter and came with a nicely ornate display of stacked potatoes. We also received a sampling of gourmet salts and a host of sauces. All very, very tasteful. For drinks, we started with Cambria's Chardonnay, then went with a bottle of Klinker Brick's Zinfandel and also shared a glass of Dom Perignon (with an amazing special going for $20 per glass). For dessert -- the lava cake and the crème brûlée. Both stellar presentations. It really was a magnificent treat! I am looking forward to my next visit. Why not five stars, then? The only complaint was that the tv was tuned to the game mid-way through our dinner. That seemed such a contrast to the amazing mood that had already been set. It's ok... I ordered the wagyu, whiskey ribeye, and filet minion. The wagyu is definitely not a A grade as the marbling is not there and the tenderness is nowhere near that. It's closer to a B/C grade wagyu, it was cooked perfectly with a nice crust and red center. The filet was horrible, it was cooked well but the meat itself was rotten. It smelled and tasted rotten, not an aged smell but more like it was left out for days smell, the meat was no longer tender. The. ribeye was cooked to a perfection as a medium rare should be but the flavor was lacking, it was a little bland and the whiskey used overpowered it, would have been better with a traditional seasoning. The service was grest and staff was very attentive. Expect to spend between 50-80 per person. read more

For my dinner experience PY will get a Zero, but my dinner date had a beautiful duck breast served with black rice which was wonderful! As for me I chose the scallops but didn't want creamed potatoes and tomato relish so offered to pay extra for choosing different sides. I was told NO, there are no substitutes????? So decided to give the crab cakes a shot. One bite in and I knew no way! PY has never disappointed so why would I not think crab cakes would be crab with minimal binders? I was very wrong. I couldn't even taste crab which has a very distinct flavor. Besides the crab cakes I ordered cooked carrots. The description sounded yummy but they came soggy and overcooked. My dinner consisted of a 1/2 salad and a couple rolls. Oh and the Asiago bread sticks that I covet were stale. Since this is the first bad experience of many, many dinners there we will surely try again, what I ask management is to allow substitutions even if necessary to up charge, watch for over cooking vegetables and finally crab cakes are made with Crab, seasoning and a very small amount of binder to form the cake. read more
