We had two experiences while staying at the resort this week. Last Sunday the bartender was very professional and nice but missing a lot. There were only eight seats at the bar and I recognize she has a lot to manage for all the request that come from the wait staff, but she was very overwhelmed. Both of ourselves came out without a requested dressing we had to repeat what the dressing was. She brought the wrong one for my husband. A little bit of a rocky first try. Later in the week we had dinner at the bar, my husband and I we had the steaks which were fantastic and our bartender was awesome! Young guy had don't remember his name, but he was really good. Very friendly. made small talk asked where we were from you know he works in hospitality. Great experience the second time around. read more

Great location to meet and relax with friends. While I'm not sure I would choose Signature Grill again on a return visit to the JW Marriott, I might opt for Salud instead. The atmosphere is nice, and service is attentive enough, but the prices don't quite match the value. In our party of four, three of us ordered the organic green salad with added protein (either steak or salmon). Without the added protein, the salad would have been quite underwhelming. The salmon, however, was cooked perfectly. The fourth dish was the Angus burger, which was good but didn't stand out in any particular way. One major downside for us was the water service. When refilling glasses, the servers repeatedly let the pitcher touch the rim of the glass, which felt unhygienic and was a real turn-off for my husband and me. The chairs weren't particularly comfortable either, which made the overall experience a bit less relaxed than it could have been. read more

Visited the Starr this past week. Took advantage of the main restaurant for both breakfast and lunch. I really enjoyed the morning smoothies .. AntiOx and Nourish. Super healthy options. The yogurt and granola was loaded with homemade granola and berries...plenty. Then lunch was juicy, well seasoned hamburger with lots of sweet potato fries. But ooohhhh dont miss the pickles! Sweet jalapeño, thick and crisp. Other than a hostess who spends more time on the floor than at her station ... the service was really good. read more

Came here last night to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary. The ambiance and vibes are top tier and the views are exceptional, especially during night time. The indoor area is beautiful and loved the decor. Our server, Cyndi, was truly exceptional. Her attentiveness was off the charts and was genuine. I also appreciate how sweet she was to my 9 year old! I had the grilled NY strip steak and it was terrific. Perfect temperature and was flavorful and juicy. The mashed potatoes with gravy and the arugula salad were also delicious. I'm such a dessert lover especially for chocolate. I've tried all the desserts at this place and usually the crème brûlée is my to go to but I decided to get the chocolate cake this time and they changed it up. They put these crunchy balls on top which I wasn't a fan of. Also too much cream on top. Other than that you can see that it's pretty much the same. Wish they served it with more fruit! That would be such a nice compliment. Always sit near the bar - Noelle is a great bartender and goes out of her way to make you feel appreciated and taken care of! The music they play is jazzy and calming. There is hooks underneath the bar to hang your purse. It's a very lovely place to go have a nice drink or dessert for me Thank you! read more

Worst service ever! I would not recommend to anyone. Waited over an hour just for drinks.

It had been years since we visited this lovely resort but decided to do their Easter Brunch at $110 pp. we had a reservation and were seated right next to the server station. When I asked if we could have another of their several empty tables... the young lady said they were specifically assigned to certain people... what? Okay. Underwhelming on the food/brunch for that price point, and to only include a few standard breakfast beverages was a bummer. They had tons of inexpensive filler foods... the French toast was cold, the scalloped potatoes crunchy (eg potatoes still raw). My hubby did get his fill of shrimp and I enjoyed a couple of the very nice desserts they had on display. It was unclear if Mimosas were included, as we were never offered and noticed at the end other tables imbibing. Server Brenda was absolutely the best part of the entire experience... all smiles and very attentive. The valet guys were great too. read more

They tried to get creative with the dishes but that doesn't always land well. I ordered the salmon, it was cooked well but I did not like the bbq sauce or the sides that accompanied (black beans and corn primarily) as it felt kind of cheap and tasted not that great to me- especially at this price point Also ambience could have been better, it looks pretty but we were seated close to the kitchen and it was noisy. Beignet for breakfast and coffee.... Delicious... beignets were fluffy on the inside, crispy outside and dusted in cinnamon sugar with strawberry and chocolate cinnamon sauce for dunking. I wanted to just drink the strawberry sauce so good. Ordered at the bar and lady bar tender was very friendly and helpful. I'll have to come back to try entrees next time. Every year for my birthday I take myself out to a nice lunch alone. Since I had been to this restaurant and bar several times over the last few months, I went back today. My go to is the Ahi Tuna Tostadas. Fresh and cut perfectly. It's not a tartar, it's full chunks of tuna! (I should have taken a photo.) I sat at the bar and Ari was amazing! She not only made recommendations for cocktails but she also checked on me frequently and was so friendly! My food came out timely and was so delicious! The bar area is quiet and since it was a Friday afternoon, there was not a lot of people there. It's really pretty at night too when the stars are out. The staff brought me out this birthday dessert but since I was so full, I was only able to eat the cheesecake! Thank you all for a great experience! read more

Located in the JW Marriott resort, open for breakfast and lunch and then again for dinner, offering a massive buffet as well as omelet, pancake and waffles stations, this spot did not disappoint! I ate here for breakfast 2 days out of the 3 while I was in Tucson and food was fantastic! I was working so not really able to take too many pictures but managed to get one of the breakfast menu and my yummy whole wheat blueberry pancakes and Turkey sausage. If you are nearby or staying. Highly recommend this spot however be prepared to pay $32 for that Buffett or $20+ for breakfast. read more

This review is for breakfast. I've eaten here three mornings in a row. Each morning I have chosen a different item. My favorite has been the tamales, but, they are extremely filling. This morning I had the yogurt and granola topped with fresh fruit. I wanted something lighter before setting off on a hike in the park when it was already hot early. It was yummy! There is also the option of a breakfast buffet for $34 and a continental for $21. I drink iced tea and Terry always brings me two, plus an additional to take with me to the park. Excellent service! While I think breakfast here is pricey, I always find it tasty and enjoyable. read more

We ordered continental breakfast at 21.00 a person and I am totally ok paying that much for a delicious breakfast. This was neither delicious nor fresh. We live down the street from Starr Pass, so Signature Grill is our go-to spot for celebrations and special occasions. I appreciate that they change up the menu seasonally, but also leave some of the staples relatively the same. The pasta dishes are always tasty and I really enjoyed the cast iron chicken pibil enchilada on our last visit. The gem lettuce salad is one of my favorite salads in town. My husband always has the angus burger or whatever steak offering is on the menu, which is always very good. When it comes to desserts, the churro beignets are always fantastic, but the lemon piloncillo cheesecake we had last visit was very, very yummy. You really can't go wrong with anything on this menu. Service is always impeccable and the setting is beautiful whether you're dining inside or on the patio. read more

I ordered pesole soup and a pear goat cheese salad with shrimp. The shrimp were good but the salad was very Sandy. Not sure why but I could not eat it. I know service industry is struggling with staffing and our server (we were seated on the outside patio) was also serving as the place's bartender. But when you are going to spend $100+ on dinner you just can't have that poor level of service. Don't seat folks that you can't timely serve. It's not fair to your staff or to the customer. The food and view saved the evening a bit, but couldn't overcome the long waits for cocktails or the check (the sun went down and we were freezing in front of empty glasses and dirty plates when I finally walked inside in search of help). With high season coming I'm not sure I can recommend this option unless staffing changes. read more

We were very excited to try Signature Grill at the J. W. Marriott. I have had some of my most memorable meals in J.W's, We had Elote Fritters..which could have been excellent, however, due to ineptitude or laziness, in the kitchen were soggy on the outside and just dense and unpleasant for the filling. So we had higher hopes for the Chicken Pibil Enchiladas. Nope, not good! the chicken was old and stringy, the sauce just bland. We had cilantro rice as well, actually hard from sitting under warmers, inedible! upon reflection should have sent the whole meal back. Service was excellent. WE DID HAVE BREAKFAST THERE ( only option) and that was really well done. I wish the kitchen would put as much care as Salud, and pool bar. We enjoyed different lunch selections! read more

The views are great from this restaurant and the food is pretty good with some interesting flavor combinations. I had the cauliflower adovada which was gluten-free and vegan. The dish was huge, a whole head of roasted cauliflower with a chili rub sitting in a bed of quinoa with wild mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and a mole type sauce that had a hint of sweetness. The spice and slight sweetness of the sauce were a good compliment, though the tomatoes didn't really blend that well. Average average average. The food is average resort hotel restaurant food. I spent two dinners and two breakfast here. The first night is Father's Day night so it was very busy. I sat outside for the view, but the service was super slow. I was left unattended for quite a while. I don't blame the waiter because I later found out everything at Thais restaurant is just slower. I had crispy Brussels and red wine braised short rib. They are both disappointing. The Brussels sprouts was too salty while the short rib has no taste of red wine at all. The cocktail was good but nothing too special. The second night was much slower since it is a Monday night. I had seafood linguine. It tasted good but a little too heavy. Breakfast buffet is decent but options are a little bit limited. I recommend the French toast since it is freshly made. read more

Been going to Signature grill for brunch as a treat and special occasion since I can remember UNTIL NOW! Last few times it just isn't the same, both service and quality of food. GRANTED I still love their Pasole!!! After a 5 min waiting in line to be seated, we were sat in the very corner of the room. And waited for another 20 mins before the hubs and i were offered something to drink. While we waited I looked at the a la cart menu hoping to find my favorite French toast. It was discontinued. At this point the food runner mistakenly try to give me an oatmeal that the table behind me ordered. (As if I came to a buffer to eat oatmeal...lol) C'mon now!!!! The Hubs decided to peruse through the buffet and was highly disappointed. The pastries we cold and hard as if they bought them at a local grocery store, the bacon were not the regular thick cut but rather (again) the grocery leftover brand that the 99cents store put on final clearance. The bread and cereal station was in shambles as if a pack of hyenas ran sacked it. Mind you I'm still waiting for my coffee and at this time I can feel the the Incredidble Hulk metamorphosing through me ready to explode. The omelette line is now ordered through the server, oh which by the way we haven't seen yet. The hubs came back from his site survey and finally flagged down 2 bussers to see who is our server! Ugggghhh the frustration of not getting good service for the price! All in all, a major disappointment. Gone are the lavishly eye appealing well presented array of sustenance fit for a king! Breakfast at Signature grill was nice. The OJ and Apple Juice glasses are large and yummy. Nothing bugs me more then a breakfast joint that charges $8 for juice then brings out those little 6 oz glasses your grandma used in 1980 lol. The food came out fast and was very good. Only issue we had was the waitress didn't make her rounds to the outdoor seating very often. This lead to no peanut butter or jelly for our toast and my water glass sitting empty for 15 minutes. High expectations from this establishment as I had incorrectly assumed either the food or service had improved from a year ago. Neither was the case. We had the ribeye and pork belly. The ribeye was not as seasoned as one would hope and the tamarind-laced pork belly left one disappointed beyond belief. We had plans to have the buffet breakfast on Christmas morning at Core Kitchen, Ritz Carlton. We were surprised to be turned away at the gatehouse after speaking to someone who said they weren't taking reservations, but we were welcome to come between 7:00 - noon. Not knowing what we were going to do (it was 9:00) and hoping to have breakfast we called Signature Grill at Starr Pass and were encouraged to join them. Breakfast was excellent; so many choices. There was an omelette station, pancakes made to order, hot chocolate table with marshmallows, sprinkles, whipped cream. We enjoyed fresh fruit, muffins, blintzes and many other breakfast items. We had a nice dinner and we all enjoyed our apps, entrees and desserts. They offered a nice bread basket as we waited which we all enjoyed. They also had plenty on the menu to choose from. We had chips./salsa/guacamole, and some salads. Entrees were enjoyable as well...steaks...burgers etc. Side dishes ( some come with your meal depends on the entree you order ) Don't miss those garlic mash potatoes those were really terrific. Fries and other sides were good too. For Dessert we went with the churro's and chocolate brownie cake. All were delicious! He was also helpful in making suggestions to his favorite dishes, which I totally like. The little bread platter was great; however, super salty. We were wiping off the salt from all the things on the plate. The views in the restaurant are amazing making it a really great treat. I was there with 3 other friends and we definitely had a great time. We were so super stuffed from the meal. Im giving it a 4 because I found it a tad too pricey. I had the opportunity to dine at the Signature Grill al fresco with a large party here last week while staying at the JW Marriott Starr Pass for a conference. Patio dining was a beautiful experience. We got to watch the sun set and the city lights of Tucson sparkle below us. Our waitstaff were excellent and did a good job managing our large party. They brought out our drinks quickly with a basket of awesome breads including a cracker-type wheat bread with pecans and amazing white rolls. I ordered my drink off-menu with a prickly pear margarita, and it was refreshing, although too much on the sour side compared to the same cocktail served downstairs. We enjoyed the quality of the food here. My colleagues gobbled down bacon fat steak fries, and I enjoyed the ahi tuna crudo for a shared starter. People loved the short rib and the Arrachera steak salad main courses. I ordered the seafood and wild mushroom risotto, which was the highest price point on the menu at $38. The flavor was good (not the best or worst risotto I've ever had), and the scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly (the lobster was a little too cooked). However, the portion was very small for the price point. I was a little shocked at the size for the price, especially compared to the ample "entradas" around me with some of us even taking portions back to our rooms. It would be good for the staff to let folks know the smaller portion of this dish. In closing, the Signature Grill patio is straight up romantic, so consider them for a date spot, even for just drinks and apps. read more

Last year, my wife and I were married at the JW Marriott Starr Pass and had our small reception in the private dining room at the Signature Grill. J.B. Was our server and really helped make our wedding memorable. While here for our 1 year anniversary, we had dinner at Signature Grill and EVERYONE from Wilson the manager to J.B. who took care of us again was absolutely amazing. Everyone involved knew who we were, welcomed us back and congratulated us on our 1 year together. JB really made our evening top notch and provided us with the kind of service that really made us feel like the red carpet was rolled out. I cannot say enough how amazing our dinner was, and it was JB who made it that way. Now here we are one night later, Wilson the manager of Signature Grill and Carlos just came to our room and completely shocked us by presenting us with a tier of fresh wedding cake and a bottle of Moët! They actually went and found our wedding cake order from last year and the same chef (Chef Chris) remade a tier of the cake for us today. I have never been anywhere in my life that was staffed with people who are this thoughtful. Thank you so much to Wilson, JB, Carlos, Chef Jenni and Chef Chris the Signature Grill team! You all have really made this anniversary getaway for my wife and I incredible and we just got here yesterday! You've really made us feel like one special couple! read more
