I am a long time customer of The Wild Garlic Grill. Generally i have had good food and dining experiences. The main problem has been an overly noisy main dining room that makes it difficult to hear conversations at the table. There is always a long list of specials that are read by the server. Never mentioning the price. Last night I ordered a shrimp appetizer that came with 3 grilled shrimp, and an order of halibut. The bill for the 3 shrimp came to $26, and the halibut was $58. Additionally there was a surprise extra charge of 4% added to the total bill that I could not understand even after the server tried to explain it. The food was ok, not anything special and they have markedly reduced the vegetables and salad that usually accompany the entree. Going forward I would suggest that prices be included in the description of the specials and extra charges be posted up front. At this point the prices have become too high for the value of the experience. read more

Dinner last night for our anniversary. This place specializes in special occasions - it was so nice of them to provide a gratis desert (cheesecake) as it was our anniversary. We've been coming here for many years since they were in their old location. Noplace else in town does presentation like Wild Garlic. The dishes are always stunning. If you want to impress someone, this is the place to take them. They seem like they are protein focused due to their emphasis on quality steaks and seafood, but the plates have a wide variety of vegetables to accompany the protein. Root vegetables, asparagus, and the sauces really make the meal. It's not like going to a steakhouse where you get a lonely slab of meat - here you get a well-rounded plate. Our server was wonderful - so pleasant, and did a great job of memorizing the specials, because they always are extensive. Always love wild garlic for years Lunch today was nice, but,,,, There was a scallops special, sounded nice, tasted great but,,,, when we received the bill and it was 61.00was shocked, paid the bill, but,,, was bugging me the server did not tell us it was over twice there average price. Called this afternoon to ask if price was correct, after being on hold twice it was confirmed that is the correct price,, the person on phone sounded bothered, suggested they should inform you of specials prices as part of the discription as other restraunts to sounded even more bothered. Tuesday mid afternoon late lunch at acclaimed WGG I heard so much about with accolades . Celebrating my near completion of busy if not chaotic kitchen & living area renovation with designer , artist ,& former neighbor at her favorite restaurant . Her choice was to sit on the large covered comfortable north side patio which includes upholstered bench seating along with tables all cool & comfortable. The large indoor dining room & patio were scattered with a few couples very quiet . She chose the Chilean sea bass that she raved about and with large portions took half home. I started with a bowl of mushroom soup which was wildly enjoyable . Then from the lunch menu chose the beef tips on risotto surrounded by a melange of fresh vegetables . ( also took half home told known for very large portions) . The atmosphere seems like big city with the black & white tiled paths throughout & filled with paintings & sculpture's inside & out. The service was very attentive as expected . There are several large chalkboards filled with specials ! My only mistake was when our server asked if I wanted to hear the specials it seemed like a 5-7 minute oration of so many detailed specials but most impressive her being able to memorize & recite it all! Located SW of sunrise / Ina / n Campbell ave smaller upscale mall with large gold dome on top . Plenty of parking surrounds. I read the mixed Yelp & Yelp elite reviews before arriving , but so enjoyed the great beef tips lunch I would definitely return although I'm not a big city 5 star $$$ guy although. Wild Garlic Grill has a lot of potential. They have a dizzying menu. And an extensive array of nightly specials. Their portions are gigantic i always leave with plenty of leftovers for the next day's dinner. Our service was good. The title of this review should be "Don't Listen to Roberto!" So who's Roberto? He was our bartender at the beautiful Eddy Hotel in Tucson. On our first night in town we enjoyed a terrific Happy Hour with him, along with excellent food from the hotel's Pin & Flour restaurant. When we asked where we could get the best meal in Tucson, Roberto didn't hesitate: *"Wild Garlic Grill!"* He absolutely raved about it. Still, I checked Yelp and noticed the reviews were less than stellar. But we decided to trust Roberto's enthusiasm and chose Wild Garlic Grill for our second night in Tucson. The restaurant is a short drive from our hotel, located in what appears to be an upscale retirement community near the mountains north of Tucson. We attempted to make a reservation online, but the earliest available time on Saturday was 8:45 p.m.--which we took as a good sign. So we decided to arrive early and hope for a table. Unfortunately...we got one. At 4:30 p.m. there were plenty of open tables both inside and out. We chose a table on the front patio since the back patio was reserved for a large party. We were greeted promptly by a friendly woman (who we later learned was the bartender). Our actual server, Nick, arrived shortly after. We started with cocktails, which were perfectly fine. While looking over the menu, we asked Nick for recommendations. He was helpful, offering detailed descriptions and enthusiastically praising the chef. He pointed out both his personal favorites and the dishes most frequently ordered by guests. We ultimately chose the **Prime New York Strip** ($89) and the **Grilled Cabrilla Sea Bass** ($56)--two of the more expensive items on the menu. Naturally, our expectations were high. When the plates arrived, the first thing that struck us was the presentation--and not in a good way. The plating looked cluttered, messy, and overworked. It felt as though the chef placed the main item on the plate and then randomly scattered extra ingredients on top in an attempt to make it look more elaborate. Instead, it just looked chaotic. The steak lacked seasoning and was covered with a sauce that masked whatever flavor might have been there. While the meat itself was tender, it was surprisingly bland. Neither the seasoning nor the sauce did the dish any favors. The sea bass suffered from a similar problem. It appeared to be a beautiful piece of fish, but the flavor was lost under layers of unnecessary accompaniments and treatments. For a restaurant that proudly promotes its chef, the kitchen seems to be the weak link. In my opinion, the chef struggles with the basics--proper seasoning, thoughtful plating, and restraint. Every dish felt overdone, right down to the decorative flower on the plate. We left Wild Garlic Grill thoroughly disappointed. Not only was it the worst meal of our 5,000-mile road trip--it was also the most expensive. So here's my advice: when Yelp says one thing and a bartender named Roberto says another...maybe don't listen to Roberto. Even as a Yelp Elite reviewer, I should have trusted the reviews. We wanted to try something new during Sonoran restaurant week and decided on Wild Garlic Grill after the chef won an award recently. This place clearly serves a nice meal, with the servers needing to remember a dozen specials and appetizers each night. The themeing is eclectic to say the least, we expected some garlic decor and were instead met with a replica King Tut sarcophagus. The 3 course meal was okay. The add in shrimp appetizer and the Scottish salmon were the best dishes. The soup was sub par, and the clam chowder soup de jour was burnt. Our server entered two salads instead of soup so after that had to be corrected, we didn't bother to send the soup back. The restaurant week menu made the price worth it. We won't be back for a regular meal as the price doesn't match the meals seeing as most things are served with the same side dishes. read more

The food is great at Wild Garlic Grill, the service is great, the wine is excellent. They handle it all, personally. They are not a chain. They don't have a little club where you get points. They don't ask you to call a separate company to make a reservation. If you buy a gift certificate for someone, in my case, the chef made it himself. What sets Wild Garlic Grill apart from every restaurant in Tucson is that they care. From reservation, throughout service and beyond, they care about your experience while in their establishment. Went to Wild Garlic for our Anniversary. Location and ambience were great. The wait staff were knowledgeable and efficient, but the food on the menu was "blah". I ordered the Alaskan Cod, mashed potatoes, spinach and some other random vegetables along with a "cup" of clam chowder. What I got was a a small piece of fish covered up with mashed potatoes, a bunch of spinach/random vegetables and a 3 ounce cup of clam chowder that tasted like baking flour. My wife got the San Francisco Pier Stew. It was bland with 4 baby shrimps, some kind of mystery fish and two mussels. The cocktail menu had no prices but the Old Fashion I had was excellent; complements to the bartender. Don't order from the menu. The wait staff will tell you about all the other options not on the menu that sound really good but are a little pricey. read more

Service is great here..attentive and they know their menu and can make good recommendations based on your preferences. Indoor and outdoor seating... and can be a place for a casual night out or a dress up event. Good cocktail and drink menu. Lots of selection of protein as well as vegetarian fare. The Gold Canyon Ribeye was delicious... the peppercorn Hennessy cognac cream complimented the dish. The grilled garlic shrimp appetizer, limoncello cake, bourbon pecan pie desserts and fig old fashioned rounded out the meal perfectly well. I did find the prices comparable to steakhouse prices... but for the value... on the fence. This by no means diminished the taste or service. read more

I always order the Forbidden Vegan when I dine here. It is absolutely amazing. It's a very big portion and I love that that the chef prioritizes Non GMO, locally farmed organic ingredients! They also have a non meat/dairy pasta option but I love this so much, I won't order anything else. Their menu is definitely heavy in seafood and meat. The environment is very nice and classy. We went a few weeks ago for a graduation lunch. We had a larger party and were sat out on the patio which was lovely. I wish I remembered our servers name because he was wonderful. We had so many appetizers, drinks and everyone ordered an entree. There were mussels, caprese, shrimp, fries, beef tips and more. The espresso martini was fire!! The French martini sounded good on paper but it was actually pretty gross. I tried the special of the day ahi tuna over risotto.. it was supposed to be cooked medium rare but it was more like way beyond well done.. read more

The grilled shrimp starter is to die for and my linguini bolognaise was incredible. My husband had a short rib type dish that was also delicious. The food was very tasty and the portions were a nice size! Expensive but quality food! The drinks, however, were expensive and subpar. One literally tasted like paint thinner. The service was mediocre. We didn't see our waiter for nearly an hour and had to ask somebody to get him. We then politely asked for a box and he grabbed my dessert and threw it in upside down before I had a chance to do it myself. The dessert was also rather disappointing since the food was delicious. I've been to the Wild Garlic 3 times. Once, on my birthday. I got the prawns. They were acceptable. Next, I went for lunch and had the sea bass and again, acceptable. The third and last time (ever) was for lunch several days ago. I had the wild Oregon mushroom soup which was very tasty, and a caprese salad to take home. I promptly refrigerated the salad and ate it at 9 pm. This is all I had to eat all day. Soon after, I did not feel well. By 2 am I was violently vomiting up the cheese, basil, tomatoes, and pesto. It was disgusting and I had to leave for the airport at 4:30 am. I contacted the doctor who advised me it was likely food poisoning from the mozzarella. I got on Zofran and sipped electrolytes and made it through my flight. I won't be going there ever again. I hope nobody else got sick too. The server and ambience were fine. I just could have done without getting violently ill. read more

Great service, amazing location, lots of food! Most definitely a family restaurant, but higher end experience. We had a group of 7, and they accommodated us moving the tables around so one person could sit at the "head" of the table so there was no empty seat across from anyone and we could all talk better :) The location made it nice as we were able to go to the galleries beforehand which are in the same plaza that itself has structural art in it. One of the galleries even had catering from Wild Garlic which was no surprise but funny. They brought lemon wedges out (vs the thin slices of lemon that I hate), the bread was fresh & warm. There were LOTS of specials not on the menu, so don't get too attached to the menu right away. When ordering, keep in mind the entree portions are massive, yet also beautiful :) you'll be taking leftovers home with you for sure. The star of the show was the cioppino which was ordered by all 3 men in our group. I tried some of my dad's lobster and it was divine. One of our friends said - and I quote - "this is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to." Which is all great & dandy, but keep in mind this is coming from a man that has traveled the world and eaten at many many nice restaurants! So it was a bold endorsement! One note on the cioppino is you're supposed to have your choice of spaghetti or potatoes but no one got asked and one person was wondering why he didn't have spaghetti, but it's because he got the potatoes (again he wasn't asked haha, so it was random). That said they did bring out spaghetti for him to add to his. Now on the other end of the spectrum was my mom who just thought the portions were way too big, so much so that she couldn't eat hers while looking at such a large portion LOL. I think she also regretted her order as she changed her mind last minute and didn't get what she actually wanted. I was boring and ordered the California house salad, but it was a good salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lettuce (duh). All in all a very nice experience and I highly recommend! OMG! What fabulous restaurant. The staff were all so amazingly gracious and upbeat. The ambience is amazing. And the food! There were five of us for dinner and each had something different. Everyone was ecstatic with their choice. The presentation was gorgeous, the abundance of veggies with each dish, and the flavors. Wait, I fainted. My husband and I visited Wild Garlic Grill for the first time on our anniversary in April. It was very chaotic the night we visited, as there were numerous groups of 8-10+ throughout the restaurant (one that was seated before us looked to be around 20) so we absolutely allowed some grace to the staff that night. My husband got veal, I got salmon and they were amazing. The salads were works of art, and the creme brule was the best I have ever tasted. As expected, service was a bit slow, but we just took it as time to enjoy being out together and people watching. And honestly, the fact that is was so busy really does speak to the quality of the food. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back. read more

Chef Schultz is award winning for reasons! Don't let the humble entrance fool you. What a lovely experience! He and his team delivered one of the best evenings we've ever had. The specials made us all start wondering what new term we could use to describe the "specials"; it's just not enough to say they're special. The menu is impressive, the variety is unrivaled in Tucson and the staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable. I'm talking about you Jack! How did you remember the many Chef Specials in such vivid detail? And everyone seemed so happy to be working there. That makes a big difference. I believe a restaurant with an average menu can score 5 stars because the staff is so amazing but when a restaurant has a seven star menu on top of incredible employees, it makes the five star rating system seem insufficient. And the terrace is exceptional for dining. It's quiet and the sound of the water dribbling from the courtyard fountain makes for a calm ambiance. Also, there was a couple with a German Shepherd dining outside, so I'm guessing that they're pet friendly but that didn't diminish the finer dining feel whatsoever. I would say last night was an 11! I will definitely be counting Wild Garlic on my go-to restaurants whenever I want to impress my guests, or my tummy! read more

My last night in the desert I decided to dine with family. I'm so glad we chose this place We did the dinner for 2 for $130 + an additional entree Comes with an appetizer 2 entrees and 2 deserts. We ordered: Mushroom soup 10/10 perfect for fall. Creamy and rich Wedge salad 9/10 fresh, those pecans are next level and the bacon was phenomenal Filet mignon & lobster w/risotto 9/10 This is a huge filet. Juicy tender and the risotto is creamy and flavorful. Elk steak &scallops 9/10 Seared nicely with the steak and the scallops they were so buttery. Creme brulee 4/10 I've had better. I feel they burnt the top too much and it tasted like burnt vanilla and left an after taste. Cheesecake 5/10 it was decent but I prefer my cheesecake a little sweeter. The chocolate caramel raspberry sauce on the side was a nice addition. Limoncello cake 10/10 light, fluffy and sweet with a hint or tartness. This cake melts in your mouth. Bwsr desert in the menu in my opinion Lamb chops 11/10 what can I say besides perfect! Perfect cook perfect seaosoning and a perfect pistachio crust. These will melt in your mouth they're so tender. I weaved in a song into this over-the-top restaurant review... Last night, my wife and I wandered into Wild Garlic Grill and left convinced it deserves a laminated, official five-star rating. Walk in hungry, walk out proud, Smell so bold it draws a crowd. Sizzle, snap, that skillet thrill, Welcome to the Wild Garlic Grill. We shared the Osso Bucco, and it was the kind of dish that makes you stop talking mid-sentence and just nod like, "Yes. This is correct." Rich, tender, and clearly made by someone who takes flavor personally. Our friends went with the Linguine Bolognese and a shrimp appetizer, and the table got suspiciously quiet. The bolognese had that slow-built depth that only comes from doing it the right way, and the shrimp starter disappeared fast enough to suggest it should come with a warning label: "May cause fork-related conflicts." Wild Garlic Grill, Wild Garlic Grill, Big bite, bold life, can't sit still. One more clove, one more thrill, Love at first bite at the Wild Garlic Grill. Kiss me if you dare... Wild Garlic Grill! On October 25, 2025, my dining group of 28 had dinner at the Wild Garlic Grill. We were all amazed at the wonderful setting. We had three tables in the courtyard around the fountain. Everyone commented on how wonderful it was. The night was beautiful and warm. It was a perfect setting. This was not my first time at this restaurant, and it has always been one of my favorites. The waitstaff is always spectacular. The menu is very well appointed, and the specials are always interesting and wonderful. We were all surprised (expect me since as I had experienced the staff's great memories previously) how the waitstaff remembered the numerous specials on offer. There were numerous extra offerings of steak and seafood. Many of the diners ordered steak. Many of the other diners had cod, swordfish, lobster and seafood stew. Everyone was very happy with their dinners and were amazed how much food was prepared with each dish. This chef cooks numerous kinds of vegetables for each dish. Most came away with a doggie bag. Vegetarians would love this place. This restaurant does cost a bit more, but the food and service are wonderful. It is a great combination. I've never had a bad meal or bad service at the Wild Garlic Grill and I certainly was not disappointed. The setting, the food and the service were spectacular. Everyone needs to try this place. My girlfriend and I had dinner at Wild Garlic this evening, and I have to say, the staff was absolutely wonderful. She ordered the elk special, which was very good. I ordered the NY Strip special, and unfortunately, it was a major letdown. It had no flavor whatsoever...not even a hint of salt or pepper. For an $85 steak, it was extremely disappointing. The vegetables were also bland, though the potatoes were the one bright spot of the meal. The total came to nearly $300 for two people, and that was with only one drink each. I don't mind paying that kind of price for a great meal, but for bland food I could have easily made at home, it's just not worth it. I came in with high expectations because so many people had raved about this place, but I left really disappointed. Sadly, I won't be returning it just didn't live up to the hype or the price. read more

I stopped by for drinks recently and really enjoyed the Vesper martini. However, I found the French Kiss to be overly sweet and syrupy.

How this place has a 3.5 is crazy... this is the best restaurant in Tucson. The portions are crazy big! I normally will get the lamb, bison steak or the prongs with some sort of lobster something on it. Its an extremely rich plate thats for sure. But these three are my to go on the menu. read more

Went with family for $800plus dinner. Waitress was terrible. Drink orders were wrong. Ordered dinner, the two steaks ordered were cooked wrong. One was supposed to only be seasoning. Came out with Sause. Sent back then came out under cooked. Other steak was supposed to be med rare. Came out med well. No steak knives were offered. Water wasn't refilled and never offered more drinks. After a terrible experience got hit with their mandatory 20% tip for terrible service.
