Moved from Denver to Tucson 4 years ago and couldn't find "that place" we had back in Denver. You know the place. It was a smaller place that fit in the area of town it was located. As soon as you walked in, someone would catch your eye and acknowledge your presence as if you were walking in their kitchen. You could see the grill and watch the cook craft that perfect breakfast. The staff was giving each other a hard time and joking around and the bustle gave you a sense that this was "the place" to be in town. On arrival the place was crowded with customers enjoying their food. The food I got was good. However, one thing was wrong on my order (I asked for no cheese and cheese was on my burger). Since the food quality+flavor, service, and price were good it didn't matter much to me. I will try this place again. read more

It was pretty dang good. Parking lot was packed. More parking across the street. Very loud bustling place. Walk in seat yourself. I started outside but the morning had a cold wind blowing. Ended in a 4 seat table. Felt bad as people came looking for a big table. Had 2 eggs over medium that were cooked over easy. Grilled ham, cottage cheese & english muffin. Decaf coffee was really good. Price was inline with current restaurant high prices. Loud, busy, boisterous eating. Grill with 2 cooks is right out in front. Must have been 5 or 6 wait staff keeping plates & coffee flowing. Plenty of tables inside & counter service. More outside seating. Didn't look at the bathrooms but i believe they were outside. Greg's meat breakfast burrito with bacon and hot salsa was also very good although just a bit too much liquid inside. The iced mocha was nicely presented with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle. The big surprise disappointment was the chicken fried steak with eggs over easy... The eggs were a tad sweet, as was the chicken fried steak. Not sure if this was an anomaly or if this dish or possibly the gravy gets sugar added. The person who ordered is a huge fan of chicken fried steak but unfortunately Franks version is not recommended. read more

Tortilla was so thin, overloaded, and soggy that the entire burrito fell apart on the first pickup. Please let customers know this is not a burrito you can hold and eat with your hands. Went for breakfast after checking Yelp, of course. Little hole in the wall with funny signs outside and a great vibe inside. They had 70s music on and the waitresses could be caught singing along. It was at just the right volume to not be annoying but you could still feel the jams. On to the food. Amazing. I had the Chile cheese omelet with a tortilla. The hash browns though. Crispy on the outside, done on the inside. You get a huge tortilla to mop it all up. Hubs had hash and eggs done perfectly. Coffee is hot and good and served in mugs you think the employees culled from their own cupboards. No two are alike. We love places like this and Frank's is a real gem when in Tucson. read more

The service and staff were the best part of the experience for me!! Husband and I both had the patty melt. His was okay, nothing special. Mine came out with burnt bread the first time. The waitress encouraged me to send it back, explaining that they were training a new cook & saying the food there is usually excellent. The cook brought a second sandwich for me and apologized for the first one. Unfortunately, the meat in the second sandwich was still quite pink in the center. I showed this to him immediately and he said he'd fix it. The third time it came out cooked correctly and he also brought out fresh French fries as well, apologized again, and told me I wouldn't be charged for my meal. The problem couldn't have been handled more graciously!! If I were to eat here again I would try their breakfast instead. That seems to be their claim to fame. read more

My husband introduced me to this place about 5 months ago and I fall in love. I have been in the food for close to 30 years. Big name companies and have never got this kind of outstanding customer service and amazing home cooking food! Over all amazing vibe!
