So disappointing. Our first visit was on a weekday morning & there were three occupied tables. Consequently, our service was great. We were a party of two & we ordered a skillet dish & a bubble waffle topped with crème fraîche. Bubble was delicious, yet there is nothing savory about it; it's pure dessert. We both agreed that the skillet dish was substantial yet was a little bland. House coffee was very good. We visited again on a Saturday morning & the indoor area was full but it was a little too hot to sit on the patio. Our 28 year old son was visiting from CA so we were a party of three & had to wait about twenty minutes for our indoor table. The indoor room is very loud when crowded. Two of us tried another skillet dish, & I had the chicken with biscuits & gravy, which we all agreed was delicious. The two skillet dishes with potatoes, beans, avocado, eggs, etc, were VERY bland. The predominant flavor was of canola oil. We had the same waiter as last time, yet service was lousy, spotty. My son finally had to get up to get his attention & he still took a while to come to our table. My husband was a little disgusted with all of the waiting (we all were). He sent his back & ordered nothing else & our son ordered an omelette. The omelette was just ok; nothing special & very basic, served with a piece of toast with jam on the side. I had to flag someone to get a refill of coffee. Clearly management needs to hire a runner or another server on the busy weekend mornings. I think our server was just spread too thin yo provide adequate service. And if people had been complaining about the canola oil, had the servers notified management? I might go back on a weekday for a dessert-like dish, because the location is convenient for me, but I would select my entree with caution. read more

Dear owner of Teaspoon, What a disappointment!! I had really been looking forward to your new breakfast, brunch, lunch spot in the old bluefin location. Things started out well: very nice ambiance, creative menu with higher end pricing for breakfast and lunch, good coffee and clean restrooms. Downhill the rest of the way. We each ordered an omelette- I ordered the veggie omelette, my husband ordered the 3 pigs omelette $8-11 for omelette with one piece of toast - no potatoes. I ordered them extra as a side. First the omelettes- mine had spinach, peppers , mushrooms and jack cheese. Peppers were thrown in raw without precooking to soften them up. I'm sorry, I don't like crunchy raw peppers in my omelette. Jack cheese was so minimal it was almost nowhere to be found even after I deconstructed the whole thing trying to find some, mushrooms and peppers were fine. I would have asked for a bit more cheese to sprinkle on top but the waiter was no where to be found. In fact he only came by to offer a refill on the coffee only after we were finished with the whole breakfast. I can see why they don't put breakfast potatoes on the plate - they were awful! Totally undercooked, not worth the $3.00 spent. Finally, waitstaff obviously untrained as to follow up after food delivery to see if everything is satisfactory or to offer refills on coffee. The best way to describe the food and service quality of this restaurant is simply put as "Outstanding." Although the hostess was rude to us when we came in, our Server Cesar (Sess-Ar) was AMAZING! and quickly turned our group's frowns into smiles. So excited we have a new restaurant in the neighborhood. I wanted to give them a couple of months before trying. Well I went twice this week. I like the menu but food & service so disappointing. I had the sausage & pepper breakfast skillet, very little sausage and peppers but tons of uncooked potatoes and absolutely no flavor. I decided to try again with some friends for lunch, I had the Greek chicken wrap very plain. I'm writing this in hopes that the owners will read some of these reviews and make some changes. The only reason it has one star: good coffee and fresh cream. Horrible experience. This is not hyperbole: Denny's and McDonalds provide much better service, quality of food and price. I guess it's because the potatoes are half raw and the sausage and onions ...I just don't Know what would make them dry and flavorless Never never offered more coffee one of us spilled ice tea on the table ice and tea everywhere. A person took a plate away and never took the ice tea and ice and Wet napkins from our clean up. Person who took our order didn't know what a basted Egg is. I feel real sad and pissed all this $$ wasted in investment etc. one big scam. Really disturbing I gave them my $. Oh yeah--there were flies. The service was good but the food took awhile and we were glad we came early as about 1030 am Sunday it got filled up. The waiter suggested to make some hash browns for us and we elected no. As 2 of the dishes would be impossible since the wimpy hash browns​ were a component to the meal. Didn't ask for a discount but maybe a simple free coffees would have been nice to do. The pancakes side was 4 bucks for 2 pancakes the size of a McDonald's small cheeseburger. Steep for fried buttermilk batter. All I can say is I may be blunt with a review but I have to keep it real. I want new businesses to succeed and hope they learn from yelpers. There is far too much competition in the breakfast market on Sunday. We ended up as a couple out 50 bucks with no alcohol ordered. This cozy and comfortable restaurant is a hidden gem of the Tucson valley. First off the service exceeds in meeting all your dining needs. I went here to celebrate a friends birthday and within minutes of arriving the owner greeted us and began to get our drink orders. The waiter followed suite and promptly took our orders as friends arrived intermittently. On Fridays, they have a live band that doesn't blast out the place with volume but provides that gentle jovial ambience to relax to after a week of work. Their happy hour deals on drinks and apps are a good deal. I had the boneless wings and fried vegetable platter with a red Zinfandel. We will definitely be back and I already recommended it to a Saddlebrooke resident who plans to go as she loves eating out for breakfast. Great addition to expand our selection of breakfast options in Tucson. I love the healthy options, but they also have an indulgent selection too! Had the acai bowl with the "beautiful" fresh juice (apple, carrot, and ginger). Everything was so yummy and was the perfect post-workout meal. My husband had the eggs benedict and the Hong Kong bubble pancakes. I had to amend my review from 5 star to three star. Just went back and it was super busy (Congrats) but it took an hour to get our food, my acai bowl was actually lukewarm, and someone from our party had to give our tickets to the counter to close out. I travel to Tucson for work and often grab breakfast at Teaspoon and get some work done while I enjoy a great breakfast. Today was my first day back in over 6 months and boy this place had a completely different vibe. Staff had an attitude and acted like they were doing me a favor by seating me near an outlet. Next, I tried to get the WiFi password to connect to "guest" and it was as if I was asking for a key to their home. After 30 minutes and asking two different people, I was told the owner doesn't like for guests to be on the wifi. Not a big deal but the treatment I received was really disappointing and I will definitely find a new breakfast spot. The food service was poor also-- slow, unfriendly, and a major lack of enthusiasm. Bummer because I use to love this place. I won't go back. read more

My husband and I love trying new eating establishments. We checked this place out for brunch a few weekends ago. I love the ambience at this joint! It reminds me of a restaurant in San Diego. The patio looks lovely and I love that they have the large garage type doors that can be opened during nice weather. I got the fresh squeezed orange juice. Delish, but for $4 a piece I would expect it to be substantially larger sized. My hubby got a balt (bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato) and said it was fair. The Parmesan fries he got were tasty. I got he loaded baked potato skillet. It was just okay. It was mainly potatoes, which were cooked well, but I was definitely disappointed in the potato to toppings ratio. Our waitress was nice, but was very quiet (maybe she is shy?). Overall it was a good experience, but I feel there is room for improvement. read more

Good food, ATROCIOUS SERVICE. I went there with my family and we were told to wait 45 min. We happily waited since we knew the place was busy. After AN HOUR we did not have a table. There were tables available the whole time just sitting there because no one would go and clean them. They gave a table of four to a couple that arrived after we did. We were a table of five, so I told the owner that we were before them and she responded: ''that table doesn't fit five people''. She could have easily added a chair like she did for a table of five sitting 7 people. We sat and ordered and our food arrived before our drinks. Turns out they are VERY LOW on staff and the waitresses have to prepare the drinks. Not only do you wait so long to get a drink, but they also screw up your order and make you PAY FOR IT. Although we had a very UNPLEASANT first experience, my girlfriend and I decided to give them a second chance. We assumed that this bad experience was because of how busy the place was. We went again and the place was very empty, so we got a table as soon as we got there. Wohoo! At least they didn't make us wait an hour for a second horrible experience. We sat and we waited 10 MINUTES for a waiter to come and offer drinks. Again, the place was NOT BUSY. We ordered our food and to our surprise they screwed up the order AGAIN and we PAID FOR IT again. Clearly, whoever runs this place does not know how to run a business. Stop being cheap and hire more people!!! You can't run a restaurant like this. One thing is sure, we are NEVER GOING BACK. This place is tucked into the plaza center with a couple of helpful signs to guide you through the construction zone. Upon arrival I was greeted by two hostesses who asked inside or on the patio. Patio! Of course! Ambiance was comforting, inviting and the perfect vibe to start your day. The turkey sandwich with avocado was amazing. Our server was attentive and quick. Our meals came out in no time at all. The grapefruit mimosa was DELICIOUS. Best mimosa I've had in Tucson to be honest...They do offer bottomless mimosas as well, however I'm sure that if I had bought that, I'd shut the place down since they aren't open into the night. Arrived on a Sunday excited to try a new breakfast restaurant. Signed up for the wait list and was told it would be 30 to 45 minutes. Settled down and relaxed on the brick patio while we waited. After 45 minutes I inquired as to how much longer. The hostess informed us that we would receive one of two tables on the patio once they opened. Thanked her and sat back down on the brick patio for another 15 minutes. When we saw one of the tables clear we anxious awaited our reservation to be called. Now, one hour into our reservation we saw another couple who arrived after us be seated in the promised table. After speaking to the hostess she advised another 20 minutes, which by this time would have put our wait to one and a half hours. Asked to speak to a manager , and after another ten minutes of waiting, left. What a huge disappointment and waste of a Sunday morning! Its a shame because the restaurant looked really good, but the incompetence of the staff could not be overlooked. read more
