This place is very meh. Their food doesn't have a lot of flavor, and is overpriced. I'd recommend other places in the area. I loved coming in around noon, there was a few other people, but still pretty empty, so not too much loud chatter going on. I ordered the garlic sauce with beef, and before that, there was a spring roll and a small salad. I was surprised by how much meat I received, even though it was the lunch special. The food is delicious but the service is horrible. They were out of edamame (I ordered delivery). The man called me and demanded I ordered something else to still reach the delivery minimum. He kept arguing with me to order something else. When I told him there was nothing else I wanted to spend money on because I wouldn't eat it (I can't help there isn't anything else I like on their menu), he began to argue with me and at first refused to not only not deliver, but also refused to cancel my order. Eventually, he cancelled the order, but with a lot of attitude. I ordered from here regularly. They do not value their customers at all. It will be a frosty day in hell before I support this establishment filled with incompetent and rude staff. I hope they go out of business. read more

Excellent authentic Thai dishes. Quaint place with very friendly service and delicious food. Highly recommend the chicken satay in a sweet peanut sauce and Rama chicken dish which is in a savory peanut sauce accented with ginger. The chicken vegetable dumplings and spring rolls were tasty and the shrimp wonton soup is in a nice garlic broth. You feel like family when you're there. I ordered the shrimp rolls and the drunken noodle with mixed seafood. It was actually spicy and it was delicious! Ordered takeout from menus and was over charged. Called to clarify pricing and was told our menus must be old ok (fine) Ive only lived in the area a year. My sister goes to pick up the food and the place randomly charges a card on "file". Well I didn't authorize that charge. My sister was going to pay with a different card. They end up holding 2 amounts in error and finally charged correct card. Ok Fine people make mistakes. The problem is customer service. Nothing was done to apologize for the error. Where's the customer service in this situation? No one wants to give business to a dishonest person or establishment. Competition is steep don't treat customers with hard earned money to spend like that. I think Sortel needs to rethink when hiring staff. If your wondering about the food they serve it's good nothing to go crazy about. But when I choose where to spend money I'd rather go somewhere where a $13-15 I pay a plate is equivalent to the portion they serve. And the quality of service is worth my money. If your used to Chinese takeout where the containers are full to the brim your not going to get that here. read more

This place deserves zero stars. Service is terrible. I ordered for pick up and apparently they hold card numbers on file for previous sales because they charged the card without permission (which I found out by surprise when I went to pick up the food). Then they charged my card twice in addition to my sisters and ended up charging us $120 for $40 worth of food! And speaking of the food, it wasn't good at all. The shrimp tasted old and portions were measly. When I called to rectify the payment issue, the lady just argued with me and referred me to my bank and hung up on me. Never again. So rude and with a zillion choices for places to dine they should really think about their customers or lack their of. I wasn't impressed. The dishes were bland, both in spicyness and in flavor, and small portions but a dollar or two more expensive.

While out for a walk out in our area, we were in the mood for Chinese and then settled on Thai food. I sat on a log in the woods, and while the sun set, I placed my order. By the time I was done, a full moon began to climb up. We headed back to our car. Twenty minutes later, our food, even with a last minute addition was ready (15 minutes earlier than promised which was perfect for us). We order from Sortrel at least twice/month. Delivery used to be really fast but now it drags a bit so we usually pick up. We love Thai and although we've had better in the NoVa area, this is pretty good considering proximity to our home. Every once in awhile, their Pad Thai arrives pale and dry, but it's usually pretty good. We love the Rama Chicken, the Chili Basil chicken, and our son really likes the firecracker chicken. Sortel is reliably okay, and they deliver, so that's a plus. We have never eaten in the restaurant but get delivery once a month or maybe a little less. We have repeated several dishes and have found that their food can be tasty but also sometimes bland, which should probably never describe Thai food. Finally a decent Thai place near my house. The place is clean, well-lit and nice but not elaborately fancy or "going too far" like Neisha's new digs in Tysons. The staff is very friendly and work very hard even when it's busy. The food is delicious. I've had the duck chili basil (soooo good), the kee mao kai (drunken noodle chicken), and both were outstanding. I've only had the satay appetizer, but it was delicious and a good portion. My wife's had the pad thai and loved it as well. My only criticism is they need to add sun-dried pork to their appetizer menu. Moo dad deaw is MUST. read more
