Short Asian chic is rude as hell. I waited 15 minutes and finally went up to her after not even being acknowledged. Then she immediately greeted someone her ethnicity who walked in, but hadn't greeted me when I had been waiting before the walk in! I went up to host, she had attitude and I eventually left, I was picking up order for a customer, but unassigned it due to the disrespectful treatment and I will not support a business that treats delivery drivers as sub par when they're actually helping bringing business . Overall theme is that there is an emphasis on the show over actually quality of food. The menu, particularly the cocktail menu is beautiful and simultaneously overwhelming! It was our first time here and we really liked it. Starting from interior design, interesting and various cocktails list and food, we enjoyed every bit of it! Service was quick and polite, they paid attention to every detail, even changed noodles( as my friend found it to bee a bit too spicy for her) and in the end they provided separate bills( which rarely happens in other places , especially for groups 6+) If you are coming with a group ( as we did) I suggest to make a reservation in advance, as the place is not very spacious. Celebrated a birthday at this lovely restaurant close to work. The interior was gorgeous and the staff so welcoming. I was running late so I didn't get any photos of the decor. The menu looks like a beautiful upscale fashion magazine and it is filled with selections for everyone. I love Pad Thai so I had it with chicken. I didn't read the details of what was included so to my surprise it was topped with fried wonton flakes. At first I was worried, but it gave the already delicious dish another layer of flavor and texture. Everything was fresh and flavorful. It also came with a spring roll that was light and crispy. I will definitely be back to sit down and try a few more items. They also have mango sticky rice, but were out of it on the day of my visit. I will also try the location is Ashburn where I live. Plenty of parking available, in front of the restaurant there's 15 minute parking, but across the street there is currently free retail parking. Maybe staff was working together on something in the back, but to follow the service was slow with not too many people in the building. Maybe it was my visit this time around but a sense of urgency was missing. The food was pretty good! I got Thai iced coffee, the angry drunken noodles with chicken, and they gave me a complimentary spring roll for free! The presentation was awesome with how these meals were served. The angry drunken noodles boast spicy but isn't too spicy; if you can't handle spice there's a good chance it's going to be too hot for you, but if you're a spice veteran like myself it's a walk in the park. Also they currently have a difference in portions depending on lunch or dinner. I got lunch and they were generous kudos to My Home Thai! The restaurant is gorgeous, the music was delightful with common songs you hear nowadays. I was glad that it included rice, I wasn't sure if it would because on the online ordering it didn't specify. The curry was slightly watery but had great flavor and a good serving of veggies. While I thought the veggie medley and the pad Thai were just okay, the crispy fish was the star of the show. Everything was delicious. My husband ordered his as spicy and boy was it. He was sweating. The special was reasonably priced at $13 and the amount was a good portion. We ordered online and it was ready fast. I recommend trying it. The table-top grill for the satay is adorable and makes the experience more fun. Yam Pla Duk Foo was the only disappointment. Traditionally, it should be made with crispy shredded catfish, and that unique texture is what makes the dish special. Unfortunately, it wasn't made with catfish here, so the flavor and texture came out completely different. Not bad--just not the dish it's supposed to be. Just visited My Home Thai in Reston on my sister-in-law's recommendation and wow--I'm so glad we did! This place is a gem. The atmosphere is lovely--clean, upscale, and tastefully decorated. It feels welcoming the moment you walk in, and you can tell a lot of care went into both the space and the food. We started with the Pan Fried Chive Cake, which came with a chili and sweet black soy vinegar dipping sauce. Absolutely delicious! For mains, I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, which I highly recommend. It leaned a little sweeter than I expected, but still perfectly balanced and very satisfying. Our table also tried the Yellow Curry and My Home's Som Tum (green papaya salad with shrimp and crispy catfish)--both were bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. This location is my favorite go to Thai food! I have been coming here for over 2 years, the quality and service has never changed. When you first walk in, it is a bright cozy atmosphere and I am always greeted warmly. The seating and tables are very clean and comfortable. I came here most recently and saw that they changed their menu, now it is easier to see the variety of foods that they serve because theres a picture of almost every dish! The servers are always polite and more than happy to help. When I last went, I got the lunch specials that are reasonably priced and they come with a fried row. My go to dishes that I order is duck roll and crab fried rice. If you love peking duck, you need to try the duck roll. I have tried multiple duck rolls at other Thai places, but this one is incomparable. The roll itself is large and is stuffed with crispy duck, cucumbers, and spring onions. The plum sauce paired up with the roll makes a perfect combination of savory sweetness. The crab fried rice is always topped with a great amount of lump crab. Once you get a bite, you would not want to put the fork down. The taste is fresh and clean. Eating these two will always hit the spot. Also the restaurant itself is so nicely decorated and perfect for nicer gatherings/dates. TLDR: Great fresh Thai food! Went to lunch on a Sunday with a buddy. Ambiance is cozy and chill-with some cool decor and pics on the walls. For apps we got the pork gyoza and chicken satay-absolutely amazing. The clearly homemade dumplings were just the right crispy/chewy combo with a nice sweet and slight bite soy sauce to go with the pork and fresh cabbage inside. Chicken satay was amazing with both traditional sauces (peanut/cucumber) got the house Pad Thai which was amazing as well! This pad Thai had a new wrinkle-crispy wonton strips in addition to the usual peanuts and bean spouts. Everything was fresh and quick to come out of the kitchen! We ordered pad see ew beef, pineapple fried rice, and Panang curry all with a medium spice level. First, the fried rice was the only thing that was spicy and it had quite a kick. The pad see ew had absolutely no spice so it was just sweet. The rice is listed as having shrimp and chicken but there was no shrimp. A TO-GO LUNCH review update - definitely HiGHLY RECOMMEND MHTB for their reallllly impressive lunch service, lunch specials menu and lunch specials prices! Lunch prices are offered weekdays 11AM - 3PM which is a really impressively long "lunch hour." If you live or work close by, it's definitely worth ordering by phone for pick up (or heading over to eat there). The parking situation is only ever-so-slightly tricky - street parking right in front of the restaurant (on both sides of the street) but if there aren't any open spaces, there's a (free) garage steps away. But honestly, it's totally worth the ever-so-slight parking hassle. MHTB is authentic Thai and THE BEST Thai food in Reston let's be honest. As I said, their lunch specials are decently priced, portion sizes are decent = really good value. LOADS to choose from - all the classic Thai favorites - pad thai, curries, sautéed dishes, pad se ew. The lunch specials come with an app and rice too. Most lunch special entrees are $13 - a bit more for duck or shrimp. Actually. I've been known to order an extra lunch special entree to have for dinner or later in the week. Something for the taste buds to look forward to. :) Their noodle entrees (Pad Se Ew, Pad Thai) don't come with rice (which is the norm) but they give you a whole carryout container filled to the brim - definitely enough for leftovers. The food is consistently delicious, the service is really good (not sure what the other Yelper complaints are all about) and the restaurant itself, though small, intimate and not a ton of inside seating, has the cutest quaintest, charming decor. I feel like this is the only decent Thai restaurant around me in terms of taste, price, and accessibility. The service is ok but we come for the food. I usually get shrimp pad Thai or the drunken noodle and it hits every time. It's so consistently good. I always look forward to coming here. The whole grilled turmeric squid is also good, red curry/panang curry, and Bangkok shrimp are good. I loooove the street fried rice though. Out of all their dishes though, my favorite is the papaya salad (Tom yum) i literally couldn't even take a picture before my entire family ate it all up (usually we need to order two. ) definitely gooooo. What an amazing gem this place is. From food and drinks bursting with flavor to gracious staff, great service, all at an affordable price.
