    Crispy shrimp cooked perfectly!

This is our go-to Thai restaurant. Food is good and the service is super friendly and attentive! I love that they started having specials to add variety to the menu. We're here 2 to 3 times a month and still not tired of it.

Siamese beef. Little sweet but very good.

Had a dinner before movie and it was very enjoyable. The soup was very good and hearty ans tasty and the beef dish was very good as well- maybe little bit sweet. Service was quick and the servers do ask frequently if you need help. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is connected to the movie theater and has outside seating as well- but haven't seen people using it though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall great ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Basil Fried Rice with Crispy Duck and no basil to be seen

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I was originally to be seated at a raggedy table in the corner--nope. I asked to be moved, and they did so with no issue, which I appreciated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I asked for the lunch special and requested the soup while I figured out what I really wanted. The soup of the day was lemongrass--pretty traditional. After I placed my order, the soup came out right away, which was fine... I still could've changed my mind....right? Tell me why the soup had no flavor. None. I've been to Thailand multiple times, so I was expecting at least something authentic. I ended up ordering the Basil Fried Rice with a fried egg on top. They said the egg was an extra $3--no problem, we have money. I sent the soup back and the woman did not look pleased. I asked for spring rolls instead. Let me just say: those spring rolls are never worth $11.99 unless it's during the lunch special. I also ordered three spicy Basil Fried Rice dishes with crispy duck. Mistakes were made. Crispy duck had no flavor just crisp. That said, I'll be back to check out their happy hour and update my review. I got there around 2:15 PM--only one other person was dining in. Kitchen closes at 3, happy hour starts at 4.

My friend and I went to Nan Thai for lunch. She was craving crab rangoon and Nan is her favorite spot to go in the Herndon area! Great experience overall, we both decided to go out of our comfort zone and try something new. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff were patient with us deciding and friendly and the ambience was very cute! Had a garden vibe to it with flower and vines throughout the space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Appetizer: Crab Rangoon - Unfortunately I don't have it pictured since we were just busy enjoying had a crispy flaky outside and a tasty crab cream flavor inside and paired perfectly with a sweet and sour chili sauce. Wish it was on the menu though, if my friend hadn't been there we wouldn't have known it was an option. 5/5 Main Courses: Salmon Panang - The curry was a tasty red sauce that had a bit of a kick to it but was toned done nicely with the sweet coconut flavor. The salmon was crispy which made it pair well with the curry. I was initially fearful that salmon and curry wouldn't pair, but the crispiness of the salmon made it work well. They only critic I would have was although I love broccoli and it tasted good, it wasn't very cohesive with the overall dish. It seemed like it was randomly placed. 4/5 Drunken Noodles w/ Pork Belly - My friend really enjoyed the noodles with the pork belly. She decided to add the pork belly to the drunken noodles instead of chicken and I think it was a good choice. Many Thai places I have been to don't offer that so I loved that add on! I do feel when I tried the dish myself, it could've been a bit more spicy or more flavorful. 3/5

We came to celebrate a birthday and wanted some good and authentic Thai food. And Nan Thai didn't disappoint! The food is very yummy and service was amazing!! There were only two people taking orders and serving and somehow they managed it, honestly better than some places that have many staff. Both people served and came by to check on us multiple times throughout our meal. And I have to mention that when we first arrived, we were asked if the temperature was ok (we had baby with us). Never been asked that at a restaurant before, and I appreciate that they are also considerate of the little ones. Everything we ordered was delicious, although portions could have been bigger. Fried Calamari - Super crispy and aromatic and sauce it came with complemented it very well. Would order again. Shrimp Kapow - This was recommended to us, not sure if it's on the menu but it's one of the best dishes we had. The shrimp was crispy and the flavor is amazing. Recommend! Fried Flounder - This item is not on the menu and was at market price, the wait for it was a bit long but when it came out, it was very delicious. The sauce it came with tastes like it has tamarind which brings a nice tangy and pleasant savory taste. Love it! If you love fried fish, you will love this. And the norm, we got a seafood fried rice and 2 kinds of noodles Drunkun Noodle and Pad See Eaw. It was all very tasty. We had a brought a cake which we'd asked for them to hold for us, and at the end without request, they surprised and brought out the cake, even dimmed the lights and sang happy birthday for us. It was so sweet! Just love how much they care for customer's experience.

Sone of the best Thai food I've had in the DC area. (I'm a dual citizen of Thailand and the U.S., and lived in Bangkok for a while). This place is legit. A little pricey, but worth it. I could tell from the pics that this place was less Americanized than others, and I was right. Apparently they sometimes have steamed chili lime sea bass on special and I wish they had that this night, but I wasn't disappointed by what we got. Taste: We got the soft shell crab curry (pad phong garee), the glass noodle salad (yum woon sen), and crispy duck drunken noodles (pad khee mao). I hate it when Thai-American restaurants add bell peppers to dishes, and they did add bell peppers to the crab curry, but it was not noticeable, mainly as garnish which is fine. The soft shell crab was amazing, perfectly fried, still crispy under the curry, perfect spice level *chefs kiss.* The pad khee mao noodles were just right, not too thick, not mushy/easily falling apart, again no over use of bell peppers. They did use instead of and no fresh green peppercorns, but honestly where can you get real kaprao leaves in the US? Solid execution. Absolutely no complaints on the yum woon sen. Sour, spicy, salty, fresh. Experience: We sat immediately and service was good. They don't have a fountain yet still gave free can refills for Diet Coke. The staff was friendly and it was clear they have regulars who come in often. The decor is whatever, but the food was solid, so it doesn't matter. Mood Before/After: I was exhausted from traveling to and from Pittsburgh on the same day, but this picked me up really nicely. Fullness: Very full for three people. We did order a beef dish, but I can't eat beef. There were leftovers. What else did I eat/do today affecting my experience: I spent almost 10 hours in a car starting from 4am and also went to a really bad Chinese restaurant in rural Pennsylvania, so the contrast may have made me feel biased.

Panang Curry Chicken and one order of crispy spring rolls (4 in one order!!!)

NOTE: This is the old Tara Thai (Worldgate) Herndon location. SAME OWNER, SAME COOKS! So if you liked Tara Thai at this loc, HAVE NO FEAR - it's just a name change. I was told when I asked why the change - it was because the owner didn't want to be part of the Tara Thai franchise anymore. Had no idea Tara Thai is a franchise business! Ahhhhhh - got it! So add: "savvy business owner" to the list of pluses for this place. I can confirm - the food is just as wonderful, the staff is just as friendly, accommodating and customer service oriented. The interior is just as lovely, clean, comfortable. SAME SAME SAME. I ordered the Panang Curry Chicken - it came with rice and the dish portion size was HUGE. It was amazingly delicious. The Panang sauce was not thin and soupy - it was thick, flavorful and peanut-y just the way I love it. Just the sauce itself could be spooned over rice to make a meal. My friend ordered the duck salad - it looked awesome. We split an order of crispy spring rolls - 4 ROLLS TO AN ORDER! Incredible value and even more delicious - perfectly tightly wrapped rolls, deep fried and crispy just so and piping hot. FRESH FRESH FRESH INGREDIENTS! I mean, take a look at my pics - they speak for themselves! Seriously. Look! The icing on the cake was the Thai beer we each had to accompany our meal. The beer came with FREEZING COLD GLASSES - a nice touch x 1,000. A lovely meeting spot for our girls-dinner. Scorrrrrrrrrre!

We had a large, hearty meal here! Everything was quite delicious, and really fast service. Like we weren't even done with the appetizers and the entrees starting coming out one by one really quickly. Very fast service was much appreciated. Everything tasted fresh as well. I loved the appetizers - Kanom Jeeb, which I'd compare to the Chinese dish shumai. The tofu pad thai was pretty good, I've had more flavorful pad thai but overall it was good and the tofu was crispy! I'm not the biggest fan of Chicken Panang Curry in general but my boyfriend loves it and he was a big fan, and thought it tasted great ! We also ordered Crispy Duck Drunken Noodles - my favorite dish for sure. It was spicy but really good, noodles may have been over cooked cuz they were pretty soft but I still i liked, could also be due to having a lot of sauce which I'm not complaining about. The crispy duck was amazing and so so good. Overall, pretty decent Thai food. We drove about 50 minutes to try it out especially because we were drawn by their very active social media presence. A good place to eat when in Herndon!

The first time I visited Nan Thai, I came to meet up with Reston Foodies group for happy hour. I wasn't in the mood for an alcoholic beverage, but thankfully there were tons of boba options to my heart's delight! I felt like my drink was so much more fun than alcohol! (What am I saying?) The staff took great care of us and I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, especially all of the fun neon signs! I was motivated to order takeout from them because they take special care to mark what items are coeliac-friendly, even online. It's so hard to guarantee what is actually gluten-sensitive, so I appreciate that I can order easily from them. Everything always tastes great and the portions are huge.

The Brownie double chocolate cookie is hands-down my favorite and tastes like a fudgy brownie. The dark chocolate chips just melt! The Classic Chocolate Chip cookie was a bit too sweet and tastes like a sugar cookie with chocolate chips. I wasn't a fan of the Cookies and Cream Oreo cookie. The Cina-Cookie tastes like a buttery Snickerdoodle cookie with cream cheese filling. The Birthday Bash cookie was fun to try, but quite sweet and loaded with sugar. Highly recommend warming up the cookies in the microwave for 20-30 sec, they soften up and taste like they were just baked with that delicious ooey gooey texture. The chocolate chips just melt in your mouth! If you get delivery, the cookies are stone cold. Delivery takes 2-3 days after placing an order, even local shipping takes a full day. While it was fun to try the 4 pack of cookies with delivery, it was just too much and I was on a serious sugar overload. It would be nice to have an option to only get a set of 2 cookies with delivery. The cookies just don't taste as good cold even with reheating and it's better just to get the cookies at the shop. They're enormous, and for sure big enough to split (... to share, sure, or just to enjoy yourself later; they even recommend cutting them in half before freezing them [if they last that long]). PRO TIP: you *have* to reheat them before eating them (otherwise the flavor/taste/texture just isn't the same). We've tried... + Birthday Bash (funfetti rainbow sprinkles cookie): personally, I like the nostalgic flavor of generic "birthday cake" that's recently become a thing, and I think they do a fantastic job capturing it! + Strawberry Shortcake (shortcake cookie smothered in strawberry icing): This was the taste of summer I needed. So bright! Just the right amount of sweet! And they definitely didn't hold back on the icing! +/- The Classic (a blend of dark and semi-sweet chocolate chips): compared to other vegan chocolate chip cookies that can be shipped to your home, this one's actually one of the better ones! +/- The Chocoholic (fudgy double chocolate chip cookie): you have to REALLY, REALLY like/be craving chocolate for this one. - Cookies N Cream (oreo bits with chocolate chips and vanilla chips): this one was just okay, and I take the blame for missing that it contained white chocolate chips which I am not a fan of. It says they're vanilla, but that's not what they taste like to me. - The Cinna-Roll: I believe the recipe for this one has changed over the years, because it used to be a cinnamon roll flavored cookie with cream in the center (and there was *barely* any of it, making it a very dry, very boring cookie). It seems it's now a cinnamon roll cookie smothered in vanilla icing, so I just wanted to make sure I had corrected info here. Other things of note: they've donated thousands of dollars to animal sanctuaries across the country! they've planted close to 20K trees with reforestation projects! they've donated thousands to local schools and shelters in their NOVA community! How can you not love a company who's built in giving back to their community in their core principles?!

The service was prompt and attentive. We started by enjoying a few of the craft cocktails, which were simply wonderful and the product of a talented and adept bartending. If your idea of a good cocktail involves slush or machines, this is probably not the place for you. I enjoyed a dirty martini, as did my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter enjoyed a French 75. All lovely and all perfectly mixed. I would return here if nothing more than the cocktails! For starters, my daughter shared the Pate De Campagne, which consisted of country style pâté, cornichons and toast points. They loved it! My wife enjoyed the Salad Verte and I loved the Roquefort Salad. Both salads were simply marvelous and went well with the freshly baked bread. On to the main event! Fo her entree, my youngest daughter had the Roasted Cornish Hen. She had never had Cornish hen before, but this particular rendition made her a fan of the dish. Perfectly cooked, juicy and savory. My older daughter enjoyed the Salmon en Croute. The salmon was perfectly cooked to the correct temp and the pastry was spot on. A lovely dish and one I will try on our next visit. My wife and I each devoured the Chicken Paillard. This is one of those dishes that is so simple, but the lemon butter knocks your socks off. If it wasn't such a lovely restaurant, I might have licked my plate. Yes....it was that good. I ate every last caper! For dessert, we shared a portion of the luxurious pistachio cheesecake. An excellent ending to an amazing meal. This charming restaurant is a jewel in the heart of Herndon. I highly recommend it for your next special occasion. We look forward to returning soon!

Very interesting concept as this place seems to be more of a dessert shop, I am curious on how good the viet food is.. maybe one day! I ordered the valentine bingsu which consist of a bunch of fruit and vanilla ice cream. The bingsu was advertised with "milky ice flavor" which I did not taste the "milky" part. The shredded ice was a great consistency, though! Easy to scoop up, melts fast, & not ice-y which to me is crucial to a decent bingsu. The strawberries paired were great and very sweet, the peach felt like it was from a can, pineapple gave off canned vibes, except it was extremely bitter and basically gone bad. Mangoes were OK not very sweet and Vanilla ice cream was good but you can't go wrong with that if it's store-bought. Overall would give this a 5/10 maybe 4.5/10. You order on the kiosk or at the counter. I opted for the kiosk as the employees were busy, I did however asked at the counter to Change my order after once I realized they had the valentine bingsu since I was feeling more fruit desserts (originally ordered the strawberry & cream). They were accommodating which I appreciated! Service was nice for the most part - the guy that served me my order did not acknowledge me when I said thank you... or when we took him the dish after the food and said thanks again lol service can be spotty based on who you get I guess? Again Curious on the viet food here!

I think they were by themselves when we came in, and then we heard someone else come in shortly after. I don't remember what milk tea my friend got, but I got the Ube milk tea and it was absolutely delicious. I know my friend also enjoyed her milk tea (I'm sorry I just forgot what it was!). We also ordered a bubble waffle with half strawberries and half oreo toppings. My friend also got herself a hot cheetos original hotdog. She loved the hotdog! We shared the bubble waffle and we both enjoyed it! We loved everything we got! They just have a small storefront where you can wait for your order. They don't have any tables and chairs. There's a small table on one side where you can grab napkins and utensils, but otherwise, there's nowhere to eat them. They also have a small fridge on the opposite wall with bottled and canned drink options if you wanted some. Overall, great experience and the food and drinks we got were tasty! Will definitely be back again.

When we walked in, we weren't greeted at all -- the vibe made me feel like we were more of a bother than customers. What was even stranger was that the person who originally took our order (a lady at the front) didn't give us our food. Instead, a random guy who had been sitting in the front suddenly left, went to the back, and came out with our order. While handing it to us, he touched himself inappropriately beforehand, which was very unhygienic and off-putting. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and unsanitary. I definitely expected better from this location.

My wife really wanted cookies the other night so we decided on here because it was closest. It was a tad hard to find at first because it's inside the SoftSpot and doesn't have any signage or branding anywhere outside the building. It was super busy for a Saturday evening but they also serve fancy hot chocolate so it made sense why it was busy. The cookies themselves were very very good. We ordered the red velvet, cookies and cream, s'mores, triple chocolate, and one other basic cookie. The cookies and cream, red velvet, and s'mores were all premium cookies and much better than the normal ones. Highly recommend those 3. We wanted the Reese's cookie but they didn't have any already baked so we would have had to wait an additional 15 mins so we went with the red velvet instead. You can also order cookies to be fresh baked but it says it'll take about 20-25 mins for that. The service was super friendly and helpful. My wife also really just wanted a cup of the whipped cream and the employee was super kind and gave her one. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating but felt cramped due to the volume of people inside on Saturday night.
