Strange chive dumplings - strange texture with no flavor
Linda B.

WORST Thai food I have EVER had!! I ordered the spring rolls, chive dumplings, Tom yum soup, and garlic stir fried with pork. I have never had such incredibly TASTELESS Thai food in my entire life!! All of the food "looked" good but was entirely tasteless. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! Do not waste your money here!

Great little Thai restaurant. The food is always presently nicely. The restaurant is very clean. The pad see wee was really good. The krapow could be a bit spicier but still quite good.

2 Steamed Dumplings are really delicious and home made. A little more chicken than sea food

Good Thai food close to home. Ordered through the Yelp app, which was very straightforward to navigate. Delivery came in about 30 mins. The gentleman who delivered our food was friendly and quick. Their menu has a nice variety of Thai eats. Standout dishes from what we ordered would have to be Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice. I wouldn't say this is the best Thai food I've ever tasted, but it was quite good. We're grateful that it's close to home and that they had friendly and quick delivery. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if you're in the area and in the mood for some Thai food, this is a great option.

Spicy Chicken Pad Thai

Love the location of this place. Priced reasonably & the flavor and portion is delicious! I also got the phrik king, it was ok. Honestly the best one I've had was in Hawaii, which had a bunch of ginger & string beans to it. Maybe that's what's missing, I don't know. But, overall the pad Thai is delicious & papaya salad!

**Take-out review** It's the neighborhood Thai place.... and I wish it could have been better. The staff is friendly, the place is homely, and the food was ready when I picked up... Drunken Noodle- I've had a lot of drunken noodle in many Thai restaurants around. This one is so-so. Not a lot of flavor, the noodles were really soupy looking. Red Curry - it was decent, but it was overly sweet. Tom Yum Veggie- this one was delicious. I got it spicy so you can see in the picture that it's red

I ordered drunken noodles with chunk beef but it had stainless still scrubbing. Also noodle was overcooked. I was terrible dinner. DISGUSTING!!!

Papaya salad. Fresh and tasty, a little on the spicy side though.

For local Thai in the Aldie area I enjoyed this. We did take out and it was fresh and ready fast. We got the drunken noodle with veggies and papaya salad. The salad was actually quite spicy. Spicy for my taste buds though. I thought the noodle dish had good flavor and lots of veggies. I will say I think it could have been cooked a little longer. I like a bit of a char on my Thai noodle dishes. Would recommend and eat here again!

The decor makes you think of what you'd find at an eccentric great aunt's home, but in a positive way. Each area has its own mini aesthetic that contributes to the entire place; in the back are color themed books that give it a more serious look, while upstairs is more whimsical in it's random assortment of chairs and couches. The food is in appealing display cases downstairs. The stand out pastries for me are the tiramisu filled cronuts. Drinks wise, they have the typical cafe fare but excitingly so they also have Colombe on draft which I will always be excited about. I recommend this place to grab a snack and socialize!

First of all, it's such a cute spot, the attention to detail alone makes it worth visiting. The music is always on point (and not too loud), so it's perfect if you want to study or get some work done. They also have outdoor seating, plus a not-so-secret second floor where you can usually find a cozy spot. I've ordered cakes from here multiple times, and they're incredibly smooth and not overly sweet, and honestly, it's hard to go back to typical American cakes after trying these. Everything just feels thoughtfully made. The service is just as impressive, everyone seems really knowledgeable about the menu and genuinely willing to help you decide on the perfect order (especially if you're indecisive like me). I wish I had taken more photos from all the times I've been, but that probably says enough. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

Overall, it's sweet but an absolute must-get -- somehow the croffle stays super crispy despite being absolutely drenched in Nutella. The tiramisu snow, on the other hand, didn't quite hit the same. It was topped with chocolate ice cream, which I actually think hurt the dish. The snow itself is super soft and fluffy, but paired with the rich chocolate ice cream, it made the snow taste almost icy in comparison. Separately, the snow is great -- together, not my favorite combo. I also tried the Thai tea with bubbles, just to sample their drinks. Unfortunately, the bubbles weren't the texture I like, and the Thai tea had an artificial taste. I ordered it less sweet (I usually prefer my drinks a lot less sweet than standard), but after the sugar overload from the other desserts, it just wasn't enjoyable. I'd definitely come back for the croffle and to try their "ade" drinks, but I'm not sure I'd get the snow again.

We ordered the Greentea Mochi Snowflake and were pretty disappointed. I was hoping that the green tea flavor would be more of a matcha flavor but that wasn't the case. I like the taste of green tea so I wouldn't have minded but the bingsu was so sweet, I could barely taste any green tea flavor. The best part about the bingsu was the corn flakes and mochi bits but I don't even like corn flakes. The portion was pretty generous and could easily be shared with 2-3 people, which would be nice if the bingsu was actually good. We ended up only eating less than half of it. Would I go back? : Definitely not. I've never had a bad bingsu before and unfortunately this will be the first. We ended up going to Chateau de Chantilly Cafe afterwards because of how unsatisfied we were with our experience.

A small word of caution - I was here on a Sunday, mid morning, and there were a LOT of young children scrambling around the restaurant while their parents enjoyed breakfast. They were not misbehaving, they just brought a healthy, high-spirited energy to the place. Not a problem to me in any way, but something to be aware of on certain days of the week if you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy breakfast.

I also appreciated that the donuts were individually packaged, which gave the presentation a more polished and upscale feel. My wife really wanted cookies the other night so we decided on here because it was closest. It was a tad hard to find at first because it's inside the SoftSpot and doesn't have any signage or branding anywhere outside the building. It was super busy for a Saturday evening but they also serve fancy hot chocolate so it made sense why it was busy. The cookies themselves were very very good. We ordered the red velvet, cookies and cream, s'mores, triple chocolate, and one other basic cookie. The cookies and cream, red velvet, and s'mores were all premium cookies and much better than the normal ones. Highly recommend those 3. We wanted the Reese's cookie but they didn't have any already baked so we would have had to wait an additional 15 mins so we went with the red velvet instead. You can also order cookies to be fresh baked but it says it'll take about 20-25 mins for that. The service was super friendly and helpful. My wife also really just wanted a cup of the whipped cream and the employee was super kind and gave her one. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating but felt cramped due to the volume of people inside on Saturday night.

The Brownie double chocolate cookie is hands-down my favorite and tastes like a fudgy brownie. The dark chocolate chips just melt! The Classic Chocolate Chip cookie was a bit too sweet and tastes like a sugar cookie with chocolate chips. I wasn't a fan of the Cookies and Cream Oreo cookie. The Cina-Cookie tastes like a buttery Snickerdoodle cookie with cream cheese filling. The Birthday Bash cookie was fun to try, but quite sweet and loaded with sugar. Highly recommend warming up the cookies in the microwave for 20-30 sec, they soften up and taste like they were just baked with that delicious ooey gooey texture. The chocolate chips just melt in your mouth! If you get delivery, the cookies are stone cold. Delivery takes 2-3 days after placing an order, even local shipping takes a full day. While it was fun to try the 4 pack of cookies with delivery, it was just too much and I was on a serious sugar overload. It would be nice to have an option to only get a set of 2 cookies with delivery. The cookies just don't taste as good cold even with reheating and it's better just to get the cookies at the shop. Important reminders: each MidnighTreats cookie weighs over 1/3 pound! They're enormous, and for sure big enough to split (... to share, sure, or just to enjoy yourself later; they even recommend cutting them in half before freezing them [if they last that long]). PRO TIP: you *have* to reheat them before eating them (otherwise the flavor/taste/texture just isn't the same). Build your own box for currently $30 ($20 plus $10ish for shipping), and some of the flavors change each month. We've tried... + Birthday Bash (funfetti rainbow sprinkles cookie): personally, I like the nostalgic flavor of generic "birthday cake" that's recently become a thing, and I think they do a fantastic job capturing it! + Strawberry Shortcake (shortcake cookie smothered in strawberry icing): This was the taste of summer I needed. So bright! Just the right amount of sweet! And they definitely didn't hold back on the icing! +/- The Classic (a blend of dark and semi-sweet chocolate chips): compared to other vegan chocolate chip cookies that can be shipped to your home, this one's actually one of the better ones! +/- The Chocoholic (fudgy double chocolate chip cookie): you have to REALLY, REALLY like/be craving chocolate for this one. - Cookies N Cream (oreo bits with chocolate chips and vanilla chips): this one was just okay, and I take the blame for missing that it contained white chocolate chips which I am not a fan of. It says they're vanilla, but that's not what they taste like to me. - The Cinna-Roll: I believe the recipe for this one has changed over the years, because it used to be a cinnamon roll flavored cookie with cream in the center (and there was *barely* any of it, making it a very dry, very boring cookie). It seems it's now a cinnamon roll cookie smothered in vanilla icing, so I just wanted to make sure I had corrected info here. Other things of note: they've donated thousands of dollars to animal sanctuaries across the country! they've planted close to 20K trees with reforestation projects! they've donated thousands to local schools and shelters in their NOVA community! How can you not love a company who's built in giving back to their community in their core principles?!
