I'm a regular at cafein, and I've always seen "Dumpling Queen", but never went in, until today. I'm glad we tried Parking: tons of parking! Absolutely no need to worry! It's in the same shopping center as cafein. Seating: there's a good number of seats in the restaurant. No outdoor seating. Food: quite yummy! the crispy & spicy chicken was our favorite! The vegetable was good too, but it was a little oily. The dumplings were okay, nothing super special. Price: overall seemed reasonable. Service: overall, our server was patient and helpful. She seemed a little miffed at all our questions, but to be fair, it was late in the evening haha. Oops!

They ran out of chicken liver which would've otherwise been a unique dish. Ordered on DoorDash but within one minute the app said my order was ready. Bad communication: it is not ready at all and they didn't even cook anything. When we arrived 30 minutes later they told us they didn't have chicken liver and asked us to substitute a dish of the same value. It's a hassle and a disappointment.

3 stars: most things were very middle of the road. May give it another try TL;DR: very extensive menu and options for everyone. Okay food. Service was nice. Came here for dinner one night as we were craving some dumplings. One look at their menu, and they have a ton of other things to offer. Service was very nice, attentive, and fast. However, while we were dining, they were extremely loud amongst the staff and for some may influence their dining experience. FOOD: ~Green onion pancake (2.5/5): bland and a little over cooked. Still had a good chew to it and the soy sauce helps ~Spicy wonton (3/5): the sauce/oil was terribly watery, like many other reviews mention. The wontons were good though and the oil had good flavor, it just didn't stick to the wontons ~Pork napa dumplings (3/5): filling was lacking seasoning, but using soy sauce helped. The wrapper is definitely on the thicker side, which I personally liked, but some may not. ~Soup dumpling (3/5): This would be an easy 4/5, but all but 2 of the dumpling were either already ripped or ripped as we picked it up, making all the soup fall out. The ones that did have the soup were very good. ~Fried ribs (4/5): ribs were very tender but still had a good bite. The dry seasoning mix that comes on top was so tasty! Could eat the seasoning crumble alone with rice (personally as someone who just loves garlic). Overall this place was just okay. Not sure if we'd come back, but maybe to try to other things on their menu.

Came here on the word of a friend and was not disappointed. Service is a bit slow but not a huge issue as the place definitely seems like a small family owned establishment, with a lot of staff. You are definitely coming here for the food which was amazing. We got beef onion and Pork chive and I would get both again! Will be coming back to try some more of the menu.

We were a party of 6 for dinner, our first time here. We ordered a lot of different appetizers and main courses to share family-style. Soup dumplings, crab rangoon, Dan Dan noodles, and Cucumber w Garlic (cold) were our apps. I think these were the best crab rangoon I've ever had! Very flavorful, I did not even need or touch the dipping sauce it came with! Soup dumplings were delicious. My cousin had the Dan Dan (I'm a bit of a spice wimp myself), and he said it was very good. I thought the garlic cucumber was also tasty! For main courses, we had Crispy Spicy Tofu which was my first time trying it and it was excellent (even for the spice wimp...I just avoided the peppers). We had the String Bean Szechuan, another first for me, and OMG I loved it so much!! Was not too spicy at all (again, avoiding red peppers). Someone order chicken cilantro dumplings, another had orange chicken, and I had General Tso's chicken. There wasn't a dud in the bunch. I loved my General Tso's...crispy, tender, not overcooked, not too much breading...just perfect. Service was good too, but admittedly there were maybe 3-4 other tables of patrons when we were dining so maybe we didn't experience the full "dinner rush" that others had. I'll definitely return. An excellent meal, and I recommend doing it family style to try a bunch of new things like I did!

Came here to eat on snowy MLK day around 1. It wasn't packed but the restaurant was about 1/3? Full. It's appears to be a small, family operated business. If you come here, it's definitely for the food and not the ambiance or service. Don't get rattled by the owner?, small Asian lady barking orders in Chinese. I did, however, understand, "FASTER FASTER!" Service isn't their strength, but have some grace, they're trying. My friend and I got the house three meat delight noodle soup, pan fried Lili's special, soup dumplings, and garlic cucumbers. I thought both dumplings and cucumbers were a touch salty but still good. Cucumbers were a garlic bomb- probably my favorite thing I ate here. Pan fried dumplings were a little greasy but I guess I should've known better. I didn't like the noodle soup; the broth was underwhelming and lacked flavor. I usually love knife cut noodles, but I wasn't a fan here. My friends love love the dumplings here. I probably won't come here again, but it's worth trying. I prefer Yu Noodle. If you're wondering what the difference between house three meat delight noodle soup (A) and three meat delight noodle soup (B), the owner said A was just clear broth and B has more starch in it and the broth is thick.

Placed the order over the phone while driving to work. The order was almost ready upon arrival. Parking was free, easy, and ample. Was happily to discover Amex available to use. Customer service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant has areas to sit with traditional and auspicious decor. I would not mind dining in the future as it wasn't busy and the service prompt and friendly. The dumplings were delicious albeit strongly flavored with cilantro. My order came with 10 pieces of shrimp and chives dumplings. I appreciated how chewy the scallion pancakes tasted. I look forward to returning again in the future.

Needed a hangover cure and every body knows my love for dumplings, especially when im hungover they're so comforting. My boyfriend has been wanting to take me here because it's his favorite and it was FIRE dumplings were so good, Dan Dan noodles cured me and the hot and sour soup was SPICY - garlic cucumbers didn't look super appetizing but they were def very goof

We had a fabulous time here! I definitely do not think this establishment deserves anything under 4 stars. Lili was our server and seems to be the only server working at this establishment (maybe she's also the owner?). Anyway, she was awesome and so nice to our baby! We ordered: 1.) Pan fried chicken and zucchini dumplings 2.) Pan fried lamb and onion dumplings 3.) Sautéed bok choy with garlic which came with a side of rice 4.) Pot of tea Everything was delicious. Each dumpling order came with 12 dumplings in total. There was an extra dollar charge to pan fry the dumplings. The dumplings do come out oily but they are so yummy and definitely made to order from the long amount of time it takes to get to you. The dumplings are also a good size- nice and plump! All the food here is fresh and authentic. I would definitely come back again. The only negative and why I took a star off my review is that you have to wait awhile for your food which can be frustrating. If the restaurant is extra busy then you might be waiting awhile. But the food is delicious so if you have 1.5 hours to spare, I would come here for lunch or dinner. Don't come if you are in a hurry or order take out instead to save time!

Service is slow they do not have enough staff. The food is decent but I rather drive for more options. They have a lot of seating inside but maybe due to the poor service usually not a lot of people go. I do hear the phone ringing for picking up orders though.

Food is cheap and quick. Popular dumplings are the best sellers. Great with noodles, rice or just by itself. Service is hit and miss. Only one person at the time I went taking care of take out, pick up and dine in. Omg, so just be patient.

Is it BYOB?

You'd have to personally contact them, but I doubt it. The restaurant was overflowing full when we were there & not one table had brought any liquor in.

Plenty of other options were available for when I get my tolerance for spicy food back, as the place leans Szechuan. You get good food at reasonable prices. Some of my favorites include Crispy Shredded Beef in Spicy Sauce, Fried Chicken Nuggets with Basil (a Taiwanese native favorite), and Wrinkled String Beans. Crispy Shrimp with Honey Walnuts is also really good. They offer a wide variety from stir-fries and noodle dishes to seafood, pork, beef, and vegetarian/vegan-friendly options. The kitchen is very accommodating. If you want milder spice, less oil, or custom tweaks, they seem pretty open to it. Because it's not one of those fancy places, the vibe stays relaxed and unpretentious, which I personally like. It's nice for families, friends, or a simple meal out without fuss. I got their cumin beef and their long pepper chicken. Both had the correct, and diverse flavors I enjoy from "non-American-style" Chinese joints. The heat level was also perfect; nice & spicy!! The textures of the proteins were spot on. The amount of seasonings and everything were great too. Definitely would return!

They have a decently sized menu and a few vegetarian option as well. They are transparent about what foods are gluten free, and the staff there are happy to go over those things with you and answer what questions you may have if you have certain allergies. Our favorite things to order here are the lazi chicken, and egg plant dish. We also enjoy the cauliflower. Their food comes with a personal size bowl of rice that is complimentary and does not cost extra. If you order to go, their food is done very quick, and a big majority of their orders are to go. The dining space is small, and can fit parties of 4 easily. It's not a vibey spot but if you're looking for good Chinese food, try this place out!

Everything overall was way too greasy, including the crueller and the dry noodles were swimming in oil. I did like the texture of the noodles, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by the oiliness of the broth it was sitting in. It's really sad to see this place fall short since it opened a couple years ago. I'm hoping that they can improve their quality of food as it's really gone downhill since opening.

Everyone & everything has been affected during these chaotic & unreliable times. Small biz restaurants gotta save where they can just like everyone else to stay alive. I look forward to the day when this restaurant can go back to good-sized portions with a satisfying amount of meat & vegetables rather than having to really scale down. Been coming here for years and it's still in the rotation despite the downgrade in value currently. Being able to count the number of meat pieces on one hand and the number of veggies on the other is disheartening. A container filled with steamed rice & sauce instead of meat & veggies is disappointing and expensive. I've never found Wong Kok to fall into the category of "greasy Chinese food."
