Inconsistency. I moved from Leesburg to Aldi, Virginia and the Hunan Café in Leesburg was delicious. Maybe the chef and Aldi wasn't feeling very well yesterday but the food did not taste good at all. I think they put the wrong sauce in the chicken bad tie, but it was not good. Children did not enjoy it. I don't recommend this Hunan Cafe in Aldi. read more

after waiting an hour for my food delivery that was only supposed to be 35-40 minutes, I called the restaurant and the first person that answered told me my food was out for delviery and she should be there soon. it was only until i presses that the next person told me they "lost" my order "but ill try my best to get it out to you as soon as possible". As I ordered online, I dont know and i dont care if its beyond menus fault or theirs. all i know is they charged my credit card. in general, the food is the same thing just with a different sauce but will do if you have to have chinese and there arent other options around. bring it but i'll give my money elsewhere. this will be the last time my family orders from this place. read more

Its exactly what I would expect anywhere else. The triple delight was good, the only thing I noticed was the veggies were kind of thicker and tougher than usual. Shrimp w/broccoli was alright. I think it could have used maybe a bit more seasoning or something, but one thing wet like about here is no MSG! We did delivery too, and it came pretty quickly. So far, so good. Absolutely horrendous. The main guy is a total a$$hole who likes to yell at paying customers. Almost made my wife cry because she didn't like the food. Our 2 year old kid was with her and he was terrified by his yelling. This guy just lost a regular customer - we had been ordering from them for years. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Do not make the mistake of going here whenever village is down the street. My family has called the wrong place 2 times and both times we were disappointed throughly. Another Americanized Chinese joint - recently opened in the new Gum Spring Village Center retail complex in South Riding, VA - just off of U.S. 50 and Gum Spring Road. The address should read as "South Riding," but Yelp - auto-changed the address when I saved the entry. South Riding is the city name printed on the menu and credit card receipt - although if one goes to the USPS web site - it will interchangeably accept both "South Riding" and "Chantilly" as the city name for this location. Got food to go - Kung Pao chicken - extra spicy, Shrimp fried rice, fried egg rolls, and Hot and Sour soup, with a side of house Chinese mustard. Took them about 12 minutes or so to have my order ready. When I got home, I found the container with the Kung Pao chicken was not properly sealed - all of the Kung Pao sauce and goodness contained therein had leaked out of the container (the top was not tightly sealed). As a result, the inside of the bag and some of the other containers were a bit messy - and the Kung Pao chicken lacked that sauce it needed. The Kung Pao chicken was unspectacular, The Shrimp fried rice, soup, and egg rolls were decent. Hunan Cafe delivers with any order over $15.00 in a limited delivery area and is open 7 days a week. I'll have to eat in next time and see if it is any better. I'd be interested to see other folks check this place out and evaluate it. I don't know what happened to this place but it used to be a good takeout place. I noticed new folks on te counters, so possibly new management. I ordered Boneless Spare Ribs (appetizer) and it got expensive than before. Also ordered Hot & Sour Soup, Beef & Broccoli, and Combination Lo Mein. There is a clear difference between my previous orders and now; a very distinct difference in taste. Not bad, just different. Portions are smaller. Maybe blame it on inflation? I have been a customer for more than 10 yrs. and honestly, I'm not sure anymore if I would buy here again. I just got used to the previous taste of their food. I'm not saying their food taste bad. Last year I used to be a frequent guest for lunch. I would order almost every week. I usually ordered the Hunan chicken lunch special and I usually liked it it, and the chicken was usually fairly tender. So on New Year's Day I ordered the same usual order and when I got home I tried eating it and it was inedible. This was the first time ever after over 50 times last year. The chicken was extremely rubbery like it was not chicken. This was highly unusual. So I complained on the phone and they weren't going to do anything as the stupid person answering the phone told me that they didn't get any complaints about it today. I was highly offended by this language as I was a frequent customer, and after checking my Quicken account I figured out that I actually went there 50 separate times for lunch in 2021. So one time out of 50 I complained and the people there don't have any good customer service common sense. I felt very unappreciated and I rushed back to the store to demand a refund in which they did. I don't really understand why basic customer service skills are not there. If somebody orders 50 times and has one complaint, they should be recognized as an amazing customer and should be much appreciated. I think the owner of this place is clueless and should be ashamed of the way they manage this restaurant. I haven't been to the restaurant since and the restaurant lost out on a lot of revenue. This restaurant from what I have calculated pretty much makes money on the lunch crowd that it consists of construction workers, mainly from Central America. read more

Stopped by here for a late lunch, takeout with my neighbor. She's been here before but this was a first for me. I had the combination fried rice, 6 chicken wings(app) and a soda, total $18 give or take. Took about 20 min from ordering for it to be done and we were on our way. The restaurant was small but clean for the most part, except a half eat'n bowl of noodles on a table. There was a flat screen on the wall broadcasting CNN. The establishment is in a small shopping center with a gas station, dominoes, a sushi place and tae kwon do facility. My rice was good, moist and still relatively hot when I got home which took about 10 min. It was packed in the usual black bowl with a clear lid, soy sauce and ketchup were included in the bag along with one fortune cookie. I had chicken, shrimp, beef, eggs, onions, etc in the bowl but it seem to be more shrimp than anything. No biggie, I like shrimp! However, while indulging I bit on a shrimp tail so they weren't cleaned well or maybe it was accidentally in there but I just spit it out and continued to enjoy.
