My friend and I had such a great experience at Dolan Uyghur Restaurant in Chantilly. Dolan is one of the first Uyghur restaurants in the D.C. and Fairfax area, and the greater D.C. area is home to the largest Uyghur community in the United States. Parking was easy, and the restaurant was very clean, spacious, and peaceful. It was quiet enough that we could actually enjoy our conversation and hear each other. Ali was our server, and he was incredibly kind and helpful. The menu has so many options that we probably would have sat there forever trying to decide without his recommendations. Our favorite dish was the lamb, which can be ordered by the pound. It was so juicy, tender, and flavorful. We also loved the mild Korma Chop, the pumpkin Kawa Manta, the Cold Egg Noodles, and the beef and tripe. The Dolan Gul Chai was incredible. My friend and I finished the entire pot and refilled it with hot water twice. For dessert, we shared the Dolan Cake and the Sütlaç rice pudding. My friend preferred the cake, while I especially enjoyed the creamy texture of the rice pudding. There are so many more dishes on the menu that we want to try. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Ali, for the wonderful recommendations! read more

A nova staple. Been very excited to try this place for a long time. Interior is beautifully decorated and very cultural. The restaurant owner was super kind. We arrived a bit before opening and the owner let us in early to get seated and escape the summer sun. Food was delicious and staff had good recommendations. read more

We decided to try this place as a family of four and honestly it was just a very average to bad experience. The menu is not very kid friendly as many items are spicy. There was a burger and chips option but when I requested it they told me that just don't have it. No reason why. They don't have plastic cups for kids either. We ended up getting the beef noodle soup, a noodle dish with beef and a few lamb and chicken kebabs. The beef noodle soup had no flavor / it tasted like water with chillies. The beef noodles were over cooked and needed salt or something. The lamb kebabs were chewy and the chicken kebabs were way too spicy. The wait time for the food took 30 minutes and while I am pretty patient - it was not worth the wait. The servers were non- existent and I had to constantly ask for napkins, water, take away boxes. The only time I saw them Was when I called them to order and then called to pay. They should not work in the service industry as a smile goes along way but clearly they hate customers. There was just no attempt to be nice at all and they were not very accommodating with questions. Let me not even get started on the bathroom. It was dirty and there was no loo paper. Give this place a skip. It's just not worth the time and the money you will spend there. read more

This was my first time trying Uyghur cuisine and it was very good! We tried some traditional dishes like their Polow, Royal Laghman, Goshnan, Noodle Soup, and the Chocolate Baklava. My personal favorites were the Laghman with handmade chewy noodles and the Goshnan which was filled with a juicy mix of beef, lamb, and onions. Always love trying something new. read more

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in the dmv. The korma chop is TO DIE FOR, both the vegetarian and beef versions but wouldn't recommend the chicken because the meat can be a bit tough. Also the yogurt drinks are so underrated but soooo good, and I definitely feel like they aid in digestion from all the probiotics. Definitely recommend!!! read more

First time trying this cuisine with our family members who really wanted to have it for their birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised. As an Indian the menu that seem pretty familiar to Middle Eastern cuisine that was a mix of flu Chinese cuisine as well. I do wish the dishes were spicier than advertised. We got extra spicy for all the dishes, and unfortunately, it was not near the spice levels that we are usually used to for South Asian dishes but that doesn't mean the flavor was not there. We got the Royal login in both beef and chicken, as well as the korma chop noodles and personally like the Tacoma chop more just because the noodles were chopped and easier to eat. The other noodles were very long and part to eat so we had asked for scissors from the kitchen. The actual aesthetic of the place is beautiful beautifully decorated with paintings and chairs and lanterns and service was also amazing very fast and efficient. We'll have to try more Uyhgur cuisine in the future to compare it to other places, but this was a decent enough. read more

Great food and service! We got the beef and veggie samsas, cold noodles, cucumber salad, korma chop, and chicken and lamb skewers. Everything was delicious but the samsas and korma chop really stood out to us. We also ordered tea to share, it had a fantastic flavor and ended up being a highlight for us. We finished with a slice of honey cake as well. They also decorated the space very nicely. read more

I've picked up food from here a few times. Either I was in the area and just ordered to-go or I'd order via the Too Good to Go app. I've never been disappointed by their food. Always good quality, flavorful, and plentiful. I really like their noodle dishes and whatever that dessert is in my photos that they threw in for my Too Good to Go order. The decor inside is so nice. I didn't expect to see their fancy dining tables and chairs when I first went up to this restaurant. read more

I visited this restaurant with my daughter last evening and the experience was excellent. The service was solid as was the ambiance and food. We ordered the cheese stuffed cigars, which were flakey, warm and delicious. My daughter ordered the beef noodle soup, which was similar to Pho. She enjoyed it, but preferred my Mongolian beef, which was top tier and maybe the best version I have ever had. I recommend giving them a try. They are very flexible in adjusting spice too. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time and really enjoyed it. This was my first time trying Uyghur cuisine and it was a great experience. The restaurant is spacious and decorated with beautiful paintings, which gives it a really nice vibe. The menu has so many dishes that sounded amazing. I got the Chuchra Soup and the Korma Chop Noodles, and both were delicious. The food feels like a mix between Chinese and Turkish cuisine, with flavors from both. Definitely recommend checking it out, I'll for sure be back. read more

Really good restaurant for unique Asian cuisine. My fiancée and I had considered this restaurant many times and finally chose to do it. We were mostly impressed with the food. The samsa was good but kinda just tasted like a basic burger in my opinion. The meat pie was the best appetizer by a mile. It reminded us of something similar we had eaten in Greece last year. The flavors are amazing and the yogurt dip is phenomenal. The big plate chicken definitely lives up to the name. It takes about 25 mins to cook but it is amazing. The noodles taste fresh and the sauce has so much flavor to it. There was enough food that we both were full and there was still enough for two meals the following day. The service and ambiance were pretty typical. There was nothing over the top about it but the staff were friendly and helpful. read more

I ordered kabab from this restaurant and when I got home and opened the box, most of the food was burnt and not properly cooked. It was not edible and not what I expected based on what I paid. I contacted the restaurant right away to request a refund or replacement, but they refused and said they could not do anything. I was very disappointed with both the food quality and the customer service. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves food quality control before serving customers. read more

This would be my second time trying Dolan Uyghur and I have no changes to report. As always, everything was excellent! Also, the customer service is great and the waiters were really nice. If you're trying to decide what to get off the menu, I super recommend the korma chop and the tea. Although I highly doubt there's something on the menu I wouldn't like. It was disheartening to read the low reviews that some have left of this place, because I can assure you they are not representative at all of this restaurant. Everything from the food down to the ambiance of the restaurant is 10/10. It's decently sized and a great place to bring friends or family who have not tried this unique Asian cuisine. I am not Muslim myself but love that the food is halal and a great option for the sizable Muslim community in our area. Will definitely be back, thanks so much Dolan! read more

Went for lunch to visit our first time. The starters were ok - a variety of "spicy sticks" were a bit 1 note and bland, naan was good but served cold instead of warm. Korma Chop with chicken was delicious.Laghman noodles with beef were good but could use more flavor. Overall, would try again with different items. Fun and different cuisine. Service was excellent! read more

Rice and veggies were great. The lamb shank seemed as though it had been cooked a few days ahead of time and stored uncovered in the refrigerator, then microwaved on high. It was tough and dried out and flavorless. Perhaps they were just having a bad day. The servers were nice. read more

The food was fantastic, fresh, flavorful, and delicious great service to top it off. Nice find while in the area.

Dolan Uyghur is located inside a plaza with plenty of parking and the restaurant itself has a lot of seating available. I've been to Bostan in Arlington and LOVED the food, so I decided to give Dolan a try tonight. I was happy to see so many similar dishes on this menu. When I walked in, the decor was beautiful, with the beautiful ceiling, lamps, and portraits. The service was subpar. Despite having many open tables, they were unable to seat my party of 3 because all the empty tables had dirty dishes on them, or the tablecloth was heavily stained. We were able to scan the QR code to look at the menu ahead of time, but the wait was long to be seated. I checked in on Yelp and was granted a free mushroom salad and was so excited to try it, but when I showed the waitress, she told me it is only redeemable at their DC location, and they were unable to give it to me.. that was disappointing. I ordered the Dolan Royal Laghman which was yummy. It was a hand pulled noodle dish with mushroom, cabbage, onion, red and green bell peppers and beef. I ordered it with medium spice but I definitely could have ordered for it to be spicier! I think it is dependent on the cuisine and your spice tolerance though. I'd give the dish a 3.5/5. When it came time for the check, our waitress would walk by multiple times but never made eye contact to give us the check. We waited for a very long time after we finished eating. Service was soooo slow! It seemed like there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant. Overall, the food was delicious but the service was truly lacking and made our experience one where I don't think I'll return to. I do recommend trying Uyghur food though and I am hopeful to trying Eerkins in Fairfax. read more

Haven't had Uyghur food in a long time and wanted to try out this place in Chantilly. The restaurant was nicely decorated with a lot of big paintings and little cute chandeliers. The waiter was very nice to us and recommended a bunch of entrees to us. I got the traditional Uyghur beef stew and my friend got the pearl noodles. As expected, the pearl noodles were kind of salty but it's typical for this type of cuisine! The beef stew was very comforting and not spicy as it looks. I love Uyghur food and would come back to try the other food! Highly recommend! read more

Family friendly restaurant with delicious food. Generous servings and great value for your money.

I got the karma chop with beef. It is a spicey dish with thick noodles and beef. It was tasty Went there a bit after lunch time so the restaurant was not so full. Came for lunch with my mom after we went to the Christmas Expo at Dulles. The restaurant itself is small and cute and nicely decorated. The staff are quick to greet you and show you to a table. They only have QR codes for menus which I know is the new thing, but my mom wasn't thrilled. We ordered the vegetarian samsa (butternut squash and peppers). It was very flavorful and good for two to share but probably wouldn't be good for multiple people to share. We also got the chicken Laghman to share. This portion was quite large with yummy chicken, vegetables, and handmade noodles that were chewy and wonderful. The sauce was extremely flavorful (but be careful as the whole spices are left in there and biting into one of those is intense. Overall it was a delicious lunch and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu read more

Love love love this restaurant! Haven't been back to the Centreville VA area since the 2000's so it's a totally new area to explore. Beautiful artwork and decor on the walls. Service was good, got baklava to make up for missed mushroom salad order. The mushroom salad was free as part of check-in on Yelp. One star is for presentation and making a dish the looks great! But the lamb shank tasted old and was hard to chew. We were really hoping for a better tasting meal. The kung pao chicken was ok. First time trying Uyghur cuisine and absolutely loved it. Love the fusion of central and East Asian flavors. Also, it's halal so that is an added bonus. From the moment you walk in you feel a warm, inviting and friendly vibe. The place is so cozy and neatly decorated with beautiful artwork. The restaurant has multiple locations and we went to the Chantilly locations. I really like the extensive menu choices. We started with the Dolan Chai and Kawa Samsa. The chai is so refreshing and soothing. We then went on to the order the signature rice noodle, goshnan, lamb kebab, hot chicken stew, fried egg plant, polow, Chuchura, chicken soup and noodle soup. Each of the dishes were delicious and bursting in flavors. The serving portions are good and easily shareable. Our server was friendly and made great recommendations. My friends and I came to Dolan Uyghur for lunch and LOVED it! None of us have had Uyghur cuisine before so we were all pretty excited for the meal. We were seated and served immediately, and our waiter was happy to recommend dishes for us. My favorite was probably the Hot Chicken Stew, which had really tender pieces of chicken and potatoes. All of our food was spicy, but not numbingly so. Great hearty food for a cold winter day. We also got the Korma Chop with Lamb and the Kazan Kebab with Lamb. Lots of lamb so it was the same flavor profile but both were good. The korma chop noodles were short and seemed hand pulled, which is pretty interesting. The kebab came with bread soaked in the sauce which was wonderful! We also got a Goshnan which was the dish that stood out the least to me but was still good. Overall, amazing service and wonderful food. I'd love to try more Uyghur dishes and I am happy the staff was so friendly to us! read more
