Based on some other Yelp reviews, I decided to check K Kabob House out when I was in the area last and craving some kabobs. To avoid waiting around inside the restaurant, I opted to place an order online via their website. I thought it would be more convenient, but the lengthy process that required me to register and create an account in order to place a simple one-off order was a bit excessive. (Offer a guest checkout if someone is simply placing an order to-go; you don't need my home address if you're not delivering!) After finalizing my online order at last, it quoted me a pickup time in 12 minutes. Not too bad for made-to-order food. In my order, I added instructions for each of the two entrees: no chickpeas and double rice for one; no chickpeas and no salad - just rice - for the second. It was only until I returned home to find the second entree had double salad--a clear misinterpretation of the request. A minor inconvenience, but for those with food allergies I caution the staff to read instructions a bit more carefully for safety sake. Pickup was fast and easy. Friendly guy at the counter greeted me and handed me my food that had just been prepared and bagged. It remained fresh and warm for the car ride home, so I didn't need to reheat. Bonus! I had the boneless chicken breast kabobs and my husband had the combo of chicken and lamb. Both were very flavorful, juicy, fresh. A slightly smaller portion of chickpeas than I'm used to, but I blame it on the compartment in the plastto-go container. Nice large crusty pieces of naan, but I wish there was more than one sauce included with each entree. It was delicious, but their sauce is a little thin/watery compared to some others so it was entirely gone by the 4th or 5th bite. I had half my naan but no sauce left! So ask for a third ramekin if you like it in every bite like I do! All in all, I'd definitely return here. Solid Afghan-style kabob place that probably doesn't get as much foot traffic as it should due to its corporate office park location across from the more prominent Chantilly shopping center. read more

A great authentic restaurant nearby the Air & Space museum. Took my dad out to the museum and we stopped in after. Like one of the other reviewers, I also served in Afghanistan and likewise I fell in love with their food dishes as well. I am especially fond of their spicy yogurt sauces. This restaurants sauce, did not disappoint. With its sweet flavor followed by a kick of spice I like it a lot. We ordered, lamb, beef and chicken kabobs. Food is made to order and each dish came out cooked to perfection. Packed full of flavor, the meat tasted great. We also ordered hummus and enjoyed that as well as the baklava which was amazing tasting. Seriously I'll probably come back just for that tasty dessert because I'm still thinking about days after. We ended up eating in and taking the rest to go because it's a lot of food. During that time I got to speak to the family and share about my time overseas as well as listen to their stories. First for the ok: the ambiance is clean. Some walls bare while others have amazing paintings. Calm and not noisy, and generally without a TV on. The food is amazing. Highly recommended and of the lamb dishes and in particular the Quabli Palau. Chickpeas are mouth watering and beautifully spiced. All the kabobs are properly marinated and spiced so come out moist and tasteful. Take the time to talk with the folks behind the counter service is prompt and very friendly. while waiting for your food. I served in Afghanistan and fell in love with the food. Simple and delicious is the only way to describe the lamb kebab. The lamb was tender, charred to perfection, and full of flavor. The chickpeas are the best I've ever had (many places just lack any real flavor... these don't). The long rice was really good and, as always, paired great with the lamb. The bread was great and the sauce carried a good spicy aftertaste to it. The owners were very friendly. Be patient and dine in is my recommendation... it's the only way to eat something that should be enjoyed fresh. Really really good experience here, I'll miss it as I fly home tomorrow. read more

The hummus was over the top overloaded with garlic, the Afghan soup was a strange soup made with ramen noodles, and the Afghan salad was overpowered with onions. My friends and I had a really nice dinner here. Fast, casual, comfortable dining room with tables and some booth. The menu has a little bit of everything. I appreciate they have a few vegetarian options. The food was very tasty, generous portions and a fantastic price. I got the vegetarian platter: rice, chickpeas, spinach, eggplant and a side sauce. It's off of route 28 across from hooters and the other eateries, next to tropical smoothie! It's a small quaint space and like I said, it deserves more foot traffic. The gentlemen is so very polite and I believe he is the only running it from what I can tell, he'd take the order and then go to the back and start cooking everything. The quality and flavor of the meat and chickpeas are delish! It's different at every kabob house or places that serve shwarma/kubbideh, I like the chickpeas more at Kabob express because the spice it kicks. Their food was AMAZING! My hubby and I were coming from the gun show and decided to try a new spot & it was my pick this time!! I love kabobs and wanted a real meal (not fast food) and not something that would take over an hr to be served. It was just that! Where to start. 1. They give very little rice. So, the big part of the styrofoam container that other kabob places fill with rice, these guys just throw in the kabob pieces there wrapped in naan. Usually naan comes in a paper bag at other kabob places. Their rices goes in one of the smaller sections of the box 2. The kabobs are very dry...we tried both lamb and chicken. Really really dry. 3. Recently super impressed with this little joint, the inside doesn't look like much and DEF is not indicative of the taste or quality of your meal. Portions are small in terms of the skewer but what a yummy meal, bread is thick and fresh, green spices yogurt sauce is heaven (a little thin and watery like but packs a punch) chick peas great! The nail salon I go to is located right next door to K Kabob so I've been aware of this establishment for quite a while. Yesterday after my nail appointment, I finally decided to stop in and give their food a try. There was a sign outside advertising their lunch special for right under $10. When I walked in no one was at the counter so I stood there for a couple of minutes reviewing their menu. A gentleman walked out from the kitchen area and politely greeted me. I asked him what's included in the lunch special and he advised me that it comes with chickpeas, rice, salad, chicken kabob and naan so I went ahead and placed my order to take home. I waited about 10 minutes for it to be prepared and was tortured on the ride home by the delicious aroma of the food in my car lol When I got home I was pleasantly pleased with the presentation of the food as well as the portion. So excited to have found my new go-to spot for my kabob fix! I no longer have to drive out to Arlington for good quality, delicious kabob combos. I had the deluxe combo with boneless chicken, lamb, and seasoned beef - served with onions, rice, and a huge naan. The chicken was delicious and juicy, the lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the seasoned beef was probably my favorite seasoned beef/koobideh in all the DMV. The management is super accommodating and let me request things like: no salad, rice, more sauce, etc. - all without making me feel badly about it. First time visit & likely my only visit. At 3pm on a Sunday, I was the only initial patron upon entrance & found the 2 employees onsite sitting at a small table in the kitchen area. The music was loud & not typical of such a setting. One of the guys that had entered was turning down the volume, but not before the Post Malone song blasted out some verbage that made for quite an uncomfortable exchanging of glances. Speaking of uncomfortable, the bathroom had the same vibe... dirty and lacking essential supplies. Order up! Which was intercepted by the same guy that turned down the music & handed over to me... again, he must have some kinda ties here. Grabbed my water from the cooler & was quite relieved to get out of there. The wrap itself was massive, with a lot of Naan to get through to find minimal chicken. TL;DR Employee is so rude and fake. Food is good. ______________________________________________ I haaaaate having to rate these people a 1 star bc their FOOD IS AMAZING. The only reason I'm giving this place a 1 star rating is because of one of the guys working there; my aunt and uncle owned a restaurant and I think the manager should know when his employees are not worth hiring. I put in an order for a sandwich on the website and the order was going to be ready at 1:20. I purposefully left my house late so that I wouldn't have to wait. When I got there, the guy who opened the shop had clearly opened it later than he should have...and then proceeded to tell me that the order was put IN at 1:20 when I clearly had on my phone when it was placed. The thing that upset me as a customer was that when they first said the order was late, I said okay and had no issues, but then this man continues to press on and was acting as if I was wrong and he was definitely doing me a favor by making the order "early". He seemed really inauthentic and I will bet my money that he will leave a bad taste with others customers as well. I hope the manager supervises these kinds of employees better because his restaurant deserves better. Unfortunately, despite absolutely loving their food I won't return because I don't want to deal with people like the guy at the front register. He was clearly saying stuff to act as if he was doing me a favor, when really he was saying things so his manager wouldn't find out about it. I've worked in customer service before and these types of people are so detrimental for business.
