Awesome service from the seating to dessert. Authentic flavors and great presentation of a large selection of my turkish favorites.

Came across this place while shopping at Fair Oaks. What drew us was the savory aroma coming from the restaurant so we had to check it out. Upon entry, we were greeted with warm smiles and a friendly staff. The general manager was also there and was very welcoming. Right off the bat, we were offered complimentary tea even though we were ordering for take out. The gesture was really cool. The menu has a bunch of offerings so it took us a minute to choose. We ended up getting a little bit of everything so we could try all the flavors. We got the Adana and Chicken Platter and the Beef and Lamb Donner platter. The Adana which is a ground beef skewer was delicious and surprisingly juicy. The chicken was a little dry and under seasoned making it hard to eat. I would pass on the chicken in the future. Maybe they could have benefited from using chicken thighs. The beef and lamb donner was a little underwhelming for my preference. With the meat being cooked the way it was, I was expecting a little crisper texture on the outside which would have made the eating experience more enjoyable with the rice and the bread. The meat could have used more seasoning but that could just be my personal preference. Both entrees came with a healthy portion of rice, bread, and veggies which was really great and filling. Overall something to definitely try if you have never had Turkish food but would only go again when I'm in the area. read more

Kolbeh Turkish Restaurant is a good Turkish restaurant. Food is good. Good quality and good flavor. Nothing over powering and just right amount. Quantity of food is good. The size of their shank and pita bread is notably positive. 4/5 for food. The atmosphere is very bland. It's a restaurant in a mall so it is limited at decorum. It's is clean and feels like a bland diner. 3/5 for atmosphere and overall decorum. Service is good. Staff is quick to say hi, ask what we needed and take our order. It is a small space so it is limited number of customers. The manager (owner ?) was quick to say hi. Our server was Melisi who was very good, knowledgeable and polite. 5/5 for service. Came across Kolbeh Turkish Restaurant while visiting Fair Oaks Mall and decided to give it a try for a quick bite. We ordered: -Veggie pide (4/5) - Loaded with vegetables and cheese, with great flavor. -Chicken shish kabob platter (4/5) - The meat was juicy and flavorful. -Turkish coffee (5/5) - A must-try with a very authentic taste. Very small and cozy Turkish spot, not necessarily authentic as the owner is Persian. The owner was extremely kind and hospitable with complimentary tea and exceptional service. Delicious casual Turkish restaurant. Came here for a quick dinner and we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious and fresh food. For appetizers we ordered hummus and fried eggplant served with huge freshly baked pita bread that was out of this world. For entrees we got the lamb shank and chicken shish kabob. My husband and son said the lamb was one of the best dishes they had ever had. The restaurant unfortunately missed the mark on the chicken which was extremely bland. It definitely needed some hot sauce and the yogurt sauce. Although the meat was extremely tender. Hopefully it was a one off? I see a lot of negative reviews on not getting an itemized bill. As someone who loves Turkish cuisine, I was excited to try this place even though it's a bit too far out of my way. Their menu is extensive and the food was OK, but when we asked for a check -- our server just told us a total amount and handed over a card machine. So no itemized receipt, just the total price. After you pay your bill, you get only a printed slip with that number and an option for tip. So you don't know exactly what you paid and what was included in the bill. Sorry, I cannnot trust and support a restaurant that have chosen to run the business this way. It's usually a shady tactic to hide auto-gratuity, encourage "double tipping" or easily overcharge the customers. Transparancy is a must if you want to build a reputable business and good relationship with customers. read more

We first heard about Kolbeh from a Yelp newsletter. After looking at their menu, we decided to give it a try. Plus, we hadn't been to the Fair Oaks Mall in quite some time and I was curious as to what stores and restaurants they had these days. Once inside the mall, I looked at a directory and saw it was across the hall from Sushi On. The spot it occupies once held a fast food Indian restaurant and the set up was still the same. When we entered, it was unclear if we had to order at the counter or if we were expected to be seated by a server. Turns out that the counter was for takeout orders. A server saw us looking around and she seated us. The menus are on the table in a napkin holder. We had looked at the menu online so we had a good idea as to what we wanted to try. For an appetizer, we chose to try "Muhammara" which consists of: "dairy free roasted red pepper spread with walnut, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, parsley, served with bread". FYI---the walnut consists of one piece on top of the spread. Also, a cucumber slice and 2 tomato slices were added. The bread arrived at the table piping hot with a nice crust and a soft interior. Some slices had black sesame seeds on top. We both really liked this appetizer. The flavors all blended well together. The garlic was in very small pieces and we could easily taste it but it didn't overpower the other ingredients. When we used up the bread, my husband just took the serving spoon and ate the remainder that way. For our entrees, we both chose the "Kiymali Pide" which consists of: "ground beef, cheese (we think it was mozzarella), tomato, onion, pepper, parsley" A small salad of sorts which is predominately sliced red onions, followed by a tomato slice and some arugula. A lemon slice also comes with this dish. Our server suggested we get lahmacun but while we like it, we wanted to try pide. My husband asked if we should share one or each get our own. She said to get your own as she thought it wouldn't be too much food. We both enjoyed the Pide as the amount of filling was just right. It was served fresh, right out of the pan. My husband easily ate his portion. I was starting to feel full at the end. We both wanted to try their baklava and were pleased that one order consisted of 2 small pieces---just right for the 2 of us! The baklava was fresh and crispy with a nice honey drizzle. I'm picky about my baklava as I grew up eating homemade ones. My grandmother and great-aunt would make them from scratch. The don't serve alcoholic beverages so we both ordered ginger ales. It turned out that the only had one bottle in stock so we shared it. Having tried various items both in store and to-go, my recommendation for Kolbeh would the lahmacun and the pides, i.e. the Turkish flatbreads. The doner kebabs are for those who enjoy a thicker cut and heavier lamb to beef ratio. Friendly service and solid addition to the options at the mall right by the parking lot for easy in and out. read more

Whilst waiting for my daughter's iPhone repair, we needed nourishment. It was between lunch and dinner, so fairly quiet on a Tuesday afternoon. We were warmly welcomed by (what I assume was) the owner. Before we knew it, we had a freshly made meal brought to our table! This place is great. I had the sandwich (chicken) with French fries. My sandwich was delicious. Portion sizes are generous. My daughter had a kebab plate, also very tasty. French fries were delicious and served piping hot. This restaurant makes its own breads fresh. Homemade. Prices were $15-$20 range for sandwich platter or kebab platter. Generous portions. I would be interested in trying a Pide (kinda like a Turkish pizza) and can easily imagine it's great, too, This Turkish restaurant has only been open for a few months, and I wish them great success! There is attractive outdoor patio seating. It's right next to the big parking garage and - as you walk in the double doors- it's immediately to your right...very easy to park and just pop in. I love this place. Everything I have tried so far has been perfect! They make the best Lahmacun I have tried in the area. Their menu is amazing & a great value. I have also tried their sauteed beef dish, that comes with rice, bread, & salad. It so good. Their Watermelon drink was also delicious! It doesn't feel heavy after eating. Nice people, good food but overpriced. The piroshki are 2 for $12.99. In San Francisco, Russian deli, you could get a fried beef piroshki that is nearly twice the size for $5.50. I know this isn't a Russian deli, but it's the same type of food..it was good, but after eating 2 I was still hungry. It's just not worth the price. I ate here yesterday with my mom and sister. Initially we thought the Kolbeh was full and was going to leave as it is a small establishment. However, we were wrong and seated immediately. The service was very personable and talked us through the menu. All three of us ended up with a lamb dishes - Adana kebab platter, Lamb shush kebab and the lamb shank . My mother went here with my sister a few weeks ago, and she raved about this place. I took my mother here tonight because it sounded so good. I had the Chicken Shawarma, which was delicious. The proportions of everything were perfect, as were the flavors. I brought home the Suzuki Fide to share with my girlfriend (it smelled delicious when it came out in the box from straight out of the oven), and it was fantastic when we got it home (I reheated it by putting it in the microwave for 30 seconds, then putting it in a dry skillet on the stove long enough to take the moisture out of the bottom). I wish that they were closer to where I live so that I could have it more often. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. This will be my go to place any time I go to the Fair Oaks Mall (i.e. where it is), and I'm sure I'll have to make a special trip now and then. read more

Came here on a weekday evening and ordered the Lamb and Beef donor kebab and the Lamb Shish Kabobs for pickup. The food was ready very fast and was hot when we picked it up. The rice was flavorful and the salad was refreshing. The meats tasted fresh but I found myself wanting more juice and sauce than what was given in the condiment cups. Got to meet the owner at the cashier and he was very friendly! He sounded very proud about what he is serving. He also mentioned that their brunch can get quite busy on the weekends, so making a reservation is highly suggested. read more

We got the CHEESE ZA'ATAR , MUHAMMARA, ADANA KEBAB, MIXED SHAWARMA The food was very bland. We only liked the cheese zaatar. The Muhammara was very cold like straight out from the fridge. If you going to this place ask for itemized receipt before paying because you will be rushed to pay without the receipt. The amount displayed in menu might be different in the bill and also they charge extra for tip by default without mentioning it anywhere.
