Simply Social Coffee, located in the Fairfax Court shopping center, offers a warm, inviting atmosphere, complete with an electronic fireplace. It's the perfect spot to enjoy specialty coffees and seasonal lattes such as Creme Brulee and Peppermint Mocha, along with delicious pastries, including croissants, kouign-amanns, gourmet cookies, donuts, and hearty breakfast options like avocado toast and breakfast sandwiches. The friendly staff provides excellent service, and the cozy, beautifully decorated interior, especially during the winter holidays, makes it a favorite place for the community to relax with a good cup of coffee. We first discovered this charming cafe when it opened in Fairfax, and we've enjoyed its other locations in Vienna and Reston as well. Across all locations, they maintain consistent quality, serving excellent coffee with a waffle piece--a lovely gesture that reflects their warmth and hospitality.
Overall a 4.5/5, but bumping it to a 5/5 for good nitro cold brew tasting notes, which can be difficult to find. My friends and I stopped by after lunch this past Saturday since we wanted coffee. I got the NITRO COLD BREW - 16 OZ (5.50) which came with... ice? Typically, the drink doesn't come with ice, but this one did. It did dilute the drink a bit, unfortunately. Nevertheless, the nitro cold brew was creamy and smooth, and I really enjoyed the chocolatey and nutty aftertaste that came with every sip.

It came with a pizelle on the side, which was a nice touch and a pleasant surprise. I also had a chocolate croissant, and they heated it up for me, which made it extra tasty. The staff wasn't the friendliest, but service was prompt and efficient. Overall, a solid spot for a quick coffee and pastry.
Stopped by simply social Coffee which is located a few doors down from Great Wall. It is a small cafe with limited seating. There was a case of pastries. I'm unsure if they are baked there. The inside of the cafe is decorated for the holidays. I saw some people working/studying there. They had a seasonal drink menu at the counter and I ordered a seasonal iced latte. It came with a small piece of pizelle which was a nice touch.
I'm in Fairfax for a doctors visit so I wanted to try a new coffee joint. The staff were super friendly and helped me with a good recommendation. I got a Crème Brulé iced decaf latte with whole milk and it came with a cookie on the side! It was delicious! I would come here again if I was local to the area. I came here on a Thursday morning and it was almost packed inside. I can't imagine how busy it gets over the weekends! The place is cute but tiny. Thankfully they have outdoor seating and I believe it is dog friendly (outside).

They've got a good selection of breakfast sandwiches, some unique syrups for lattes, and plenty of pastries. I'll definitely be back.

I wish I would have tried the egg and cheese sandwich. On the way out, I noticed another customer eating one and it looked so good!
hands down the BEST dirty matcha ever!! whenever i come back to virginia to visit, i always have to stop by here to get an iced almond dirty matcha, if you like espresso and matcha you gotta try it! they also have a decent amount of seating inside and the service is very quick and the baristas are always very nice.

Unfortunately, the matcha turned out much too sweet for me and also quite watery. My friend had a chai latte and felt the same watery and not as flavorful compared to other places she's tried. That said, I don't want to judge the whole shop based only on these drinks. It seems like they focus more on breakfast items and coffee, so I'd be open to coming back to try those instead. The shop itself is very small inside, but they do have a cute fenced patio for seating. One thing I really loved is how dog-friendly. I came in with my service dog, and the first thing the cashier told me was that dogs weren't allowed inside and that I needed to go outside and order online. This was not only disrespectful but also potentially illegal in Virginia, as service dogs are legally allowed in public establishments. I had to step outside, hand my dog to my husband, and then return to place my order. When ordering my latte, I asked for light ice, and instead of just noting my request, the cashier took five extra minutes to explain that my cup wouldn't be filled to the top. While I understand portioning, the way she said it came off as unnecessarily rude and condescending. As I waited for my order, I noticed a board covered in Polaroid pictures of dogs, making the place seem dog-friendly--which made the refusal to allow my working dog inside even more contradictory and misleading. If this café truly cares about dogs, they should at least allow service animals inside for a brief moment while someone orders, or at the very least, offer to take an order and bring the drink outside. To top it off, my latte with "light ice" was indeed not filled to the top, which was just the final frustration in an already bad experience. The lack of respect, poor customer service, and confusing policies make it unlikely that I'll return.

I love the care they put into their food and service. What is also surprising is how cheap their food is for the quality. I always feel like im getting way more than I pay for with their meals. It's a small thing, but they keep their tip menu small as well which makes me happy to see. I dislike how other stores force a 22% tip menu in your face, even if it's by accident. The whole experience at Simply Social is homey and welcoming.

Just ate a damn near prefect bacon, egg & cheddar sandwich on an English muffin. Washed down with a large cup of hot black coffee. Served by friendly folks in a pleasant environment (notwithstanding strip mall location) with inside and outdoor seating. What more could you want for breakfast? read more
I love this place! The coffee is consistently great, and it's one of those spots I genuinely look forward to visiting. The food is always made fresh and comes out satisfying every time. What really sets this café apart is the people. The staff goes out of their way to get to know their customers and make everyone feel welcome. It's clear they're making an effort to build relationships within the community rather than just serving food and drinks. read more
I have always driven by this when going to the gym but I have never stopped by. But I finally had the chances which is great cause it was a pretty good experience :) The fact there is a outdoor and indoor seating was great but that also meant it was dog friendly and in my opinion the more places that are dog friendly the better! The latte itself was pretty well done! I wish it was little less sweet but other than that I would get again. They also had a blueberry muffin which was very interesting. Like idk if I can say if it was good or bad haha but overall fun experience. I just wish that the interior seating was a bit more comfortable but I liked this place. Oh and the service was pretty standard which is always preferred :) Like I would go here again but I would probably rather go to the middle eastern cafes. read more

My husband and I were in search of a good coffee spot while in the area. Simply Social popped up as a recommendation. I'm so glad we gave it a try. Nice spot here. Definitely really nice employees and vibe. It is a chain, but doesn't feel that way. This is a smaller more intimate location. They have a variety of coffees, teas, and foods. All are quite good. I like this better, than corporate giants Peet's and Starbucks. You'll get a better value here. Also I think it's more laid back. All of us need "chill time" here and there. This is a wonderful spot for that. Definitely stop here. There's plenty of parking. Good employees and a comfortable spot. read more

This was an outstanding experience, from the clean space to the delicious coffee. My latte was so yummy, in fact, that I had them grind some beans to take home. Of course I don't have their fancy machine but I could t help myself. Nice presentation with the included pizzelle, too. Wish I lived here so I could return! read more
Service isn't the best here, our cashier was a bit rude. They do not give you water and charge for this, which is strange for a cafe. On the day we went, they had "run out" of bottled water to sell but clearly had tap and ice which the workers were drinking from. It shows negatively on a business to not provide buying customers a drink of water and being cheap. The harvest smoothie was good and the coffee was just okay. The interior is quite small with 2-seat round tables and they have outdoor seating, but it is roughly 4 feet from the parking lot and is loud. We live quite close but would definitely drive a bit father for a different shop. read more
This place has the best prices, the best service, and such a good ambiance where you could easily get work done or chat with friends here. Their breakfast sandwiches are great and always have excellent cheese pull. I would recommend that everyone tries their lattes as their coffee is pretty great. read more
I really enjoyed this place! The ambiance isn't anything spectacular but it's a nice pit stop for some coffee and quick bite. I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich I had. I typically don't care for coffee but I really enjoyed their coffee. I'm a chai consumer so that was excellent as well (it was spicy) they warn you ahead of time, but I enjoyed that a lot too! They have outdoor seating and a small area inside, so it might not be the best place for big groups to chill at but to grab some food/coffee to go its the place for sure! read more

I wouldn't say I'm an expert in coffee quite yet, but I'm definitely--at the very least--a mild enjoyer. As opposed to Cafein, which I tried for the first time yesterday, it was a bit lacking. I had originally gone in hoping for almond or oat creamer, but they didn't seem to have the option for anything other than oat milk, coconut milk, and almond milk. I ordered a nitro cold brew with oat milk and there was a bit too much ice in it, which watered down the taste a bit too quickly (within ~8 minutes). The coffee tasted decent--not as flavorful or concentrated as I'd expect cold brew to be, but much more full than if it were made thoughtlessly. They serve all their drinks with a wafer piece which was a nice touch, though I think it distracts you from the flavor of the coffee a bit. It may complement the coffee better if it were slightly less sweet. -- The vibes in the shop are bright and made me feel productive. A good place to meetup with friends and chat! Can't speak for the food as I haven't tried it, but the atmosphere was definitely lively! read more

If you're near Fairfax you should try this cute coffee shop! I would give this cafe a 3.5! The coffee is nice and sweet, staff are always kind, and the chocolate croissant & chocolate chip cookie are yummy. I will say, my order (iced vanilla latte) is more on the sweeter side than other places i've tried before, but no biggie. Check them out! read more

My review is similar to one a week ago from another Elite. This place is up the street from me so I was excited to try it out. Initially I wanted an iced coffee but was told they don't have iced coffee so I upgraded to an iced latte. I also was asked if I wanted an extra shot which I declined to avoid the cost going up. For a large latte with 2 shots (not 3) and an almond croissant it was $12. So not a place I'd really go to every day let alone once a week. I will try it again with a normal coffee order and hope to raise to four stars. read more

I don't know how they can be so consistently incredible. They know their espresso drinks and no matter what I order I'm impressed. This coffee shop is completely out of my way as I live in Ashburn but I will use any excuse to drive out here an have a coffee. Everyone I've ever brought here is like "wow! This is the best ____ that I've ever had." Their cappuccinos are perfect, their flat whites, the chia latte is spicy and full bodied, the espresso shot is bold but smooth. I'm sitting now sipping on my London fog which is just spot on. I got it without the vanilla syrup so I could really taste the tea and it has tons of flavor. read more

What are the vegan options?
Hi! Are there sugar free options for the frappes? Or are they powder based?
They are powered based. Unfortunately we don't have sugar free options. However we do have sugar free syrup we can blend with milk and ice to create something similar to frappe, but not exactly. We have sf caramel and vanilla. Thanks
