The problem is that their regular coffee is not very good (maybe the specialty drinks are better), their pastries are often stale, and the staff is not especially friendly. Caffe Amouri is quite a favorite coffee shop in the area. It's almost always packed with people. They have a lot of tables and chairs for people to settle down on. It can be loud in there depending on how busy they are, but if you use headphones, you should be fine. I've seen plenty of people do work in there and have no problem concentrating. They have an extensive menu that includes both hot and cold drinks and snacks that include pastries and sandwiches. Even though they do offer pastries, keep in mind that they do have limited quantities for the day. They might run out of something if you're dropping by later in the day. I've had their hand-shaken iced tea and brownies. The hand-shaken iced tea was refreshing, and the brownie was just the way I liked it: chewy and just sweet enough without being too sweet. Café Amouri is a favorite coffee shop and meet with your friends place around Vienna. It's a lot of fun, for people of a certain age, to look at all the album covers on the walls and reminisce about when we first brought those same LP's home. This visit, we had a mango smoothie and a Mexican hot chocolate. It was interesting to note that the smoothie was dispensed in a plastic cup while the coffee was poured in a ceramic cup so loved and obviously washed many, many times that the decoration on it was almost completely scrubbed off. We found that the hot chocolate, much like its container, was worth the trouble of repeating again and again. The chocolate had a really nice kick of heat at the end which made it special. The smoothie was fine but just a little more icy with less fruit flavor than at other places we have enjoyed them. As an accompanying snack, we got an almond croissant which I'm sure was brought in and was just ok. Café Amouri has a wide selection of teas, coffees and other hot and cold drinks as well as some snacks (that I'm sure are brought in from the outside). The staff was very helpful and friendly and the vibe is definitely social but in a relaxed way. The parking out front may get tight but there is more around the back. read more

Caffe Amouri is a really good place to get Coffee at in Vienna. Since it's not a chain, you can feel that it's a community staple. It has album covers on the wall and the next room where you can sit down after order is spacious and just feels comfy. Great if you need to get work or you just need a nice break for a good couple of minutes. I'll be honest, I was genuinely confused about ordering because the counter is a bit hard to see if there is a line but I figured it out and was able to order. I got the Honey Cinnamon Latte & a Croissant as a small pick me up before actually getting dinner. The Honey Cinnamon Latte features espresso, steamed milk, light microfoam with real honey and cinnamon powder. The barista who made the latte also made a cute bear latte art too! It was a good balance of not too overpoweringly sweet and not overpoweringly strong either. This was a pleasant drink to sip on even though I finished in minutes. The croissant, it's great but I didn't really think it was any different from any that I have eaten. If this was closer to me, I'd definitely check it out more. read more

Though my go-to coffee order has changed through the years, this place remains consistent and their beans never disappoint. My order nowadays is an iced americano - the medium has the perfect three shots to ice and water ratio. They've expanded the cafe and there is more seating available. We went here since I had heard about their coffee. The line was long but when we finally got up to the front we got the semi sweet belgian hot chocolate. It was basically $9 and so I was disappointed with that quality of hot chocolate. I was expecting a deep rich hot chocolate and while it was good it was not worth the money since there are other places in the area that have better hot chocolate at the same price point. I have wonderful memories of coming here as a child with my mom and my sister for breakfast and smoothies in the summer. I came back for the first time in a long time recently and got coffee here for the first time (an ode to being a grown-up, I guess?). My go-to when I don't want coffee but still want something creamy. 8.5/10 Honey Cinnamon Latte: Solid drink! A standard if you're looking for something nice and simple. 7/10 Vietnamese Iced Coffee: Strong and flavorful. My go-to whenever I need to get work done. 9/10 FOOD They have all-day breakfast and a couple of lunch options. I had their grilled cheese and tomato bisque combo, which was a nice and warm-- definitely a cozy treat while working! Standard pastry items are also available. SERVICE The staff here are so kind and friendly! Definitely a staple shop to have a treat after running/biking on the W&OD, studying, or working from home in the Vienna area. Stopped by for an hour on a frigid Saturday afternoon in mid-January 2024 and found a delightful place with excellent coffee! Two big pluses. First, the ambience is nice with a local community vibe (i.e., decorative wall of 1970s-1990s vinyl records is lovely in the "bar" style seating area). I sat alone at a tiny table in the large room, which was crowded. Second, the medium roast (Columbian) coffee was outstanding - high quality with a strong caffeine kick and smooth finish. There were only 2 minuses. First, there's limited parking available in front of the store (across the street from Ghaffari Orthodontics), but 15 additional spaces are available in the lot directly behind the cafe. Second, I brought my laptop to catch up on work, but Caffe Amouri has a "no WiFI" weekend policy to support face-to-face conversations. So, if you need to catch up on work over the weekend, this is not a good option unless you have your own WiFi hotspot. Also, if it gets really crowded, the main seating area may be full. read more

Caffe Amouri has become the goto stop on Tuesday nights for my fiancée, her sister, our friend Ki and I. We stop there on our way to a weekly prayer meeting that happens in the area at Whole Word Fellowship church. As regulars, our orders are known and we have become friendly with the staff. Some of our favorite items from their menu include the honey cinnamon latte, the honey matcha latte, the drip coffee, and the seasonal strawberry fields latte! All are really soothing and we have enjoyed some of their baked goods as well. We love that that they allow customizations to your orders. Since we go in the evening, we tend to ask for half caffeine or decaf and they allow adjustments to the amount of sweetness added to your order as well. They always have pleasant attitudes and are so welcoming. Though we usually order to go, the shop has a nice space for dining in or studying with the help of their great coffee. This is my fourth time here and it's been a few years. Ambiance: 4/5 Great, small town feel. Good seating but too many people with laptops take up more than their fair share of space. If you're sitting at a large table then leave room for others to sit too. Drinks: 4.5/ Great. Got a latte and it was smooth, enjoyable. Service: 2/5 This is where this place has fallen behind. You now have cashiers throwing out random compliments right before you get to the tip screen, when it used to be putting bills in a jar before. This is especially seen with the non-male cashiers and baristas. The tip choices are quite high now too, including the prices of the drinks. There are some baristas who need to make sure they come after showering. There's an older gentleman who I assume is the owner but he sits in the back coughing without covering his mouth. She was so cold I was almost asked her if something was wrong but then realized, she was just not a nice person with an attitude problem. We completed our order in a timely manner and moved on. The place is small and has 2 seating areas but not enough tables at either. Most tables and table tops seem to gears towards parties of 2 and that's it. First time visiting, and the interior is definitely on the eclectic side. This café definitely radiates a "community" vibe with the open layout and aesthetics. The employee who took my order was not very friendly, but the barista who made my drink was a ray of sunshine. The honey cinnamon latte was on the milkier side and I couldn't really taste the espresso, so I'd ask for an extra espresso shot next time.
