Great local coffee spot! Friendly staff, quality coffee you come to expect in the area, and a fun modern vibe. Nice place to get some work done or just enjoy your morning or afternoon caffeine fix. Love that it's easy to walk around the area with your coffee too!
Came here to grab coffee with some colleagues and the campfire iced latte I got was pretty great. Lots of space inside if you want to get some work done and plenty of parking outside. Cool spot.
FOOD/DRINK: 4/5 SERVICE: 5/5 EXPERIENCE: 4/5 I came here after a doctor's appointment to try to wait out the rain and get caffeinated after hearing so much about this place. The barista helped us out with any questions and was very kind. It was super cozy. The seating was extremely comfortable and I can see myself being here for a while. There was some cute merch too. The place was decorated with colorful posters of the outdoors, which followed the decor of what was in the rock climbing gym upstairs. Speaking of upstairs, you have to use the rock climbing gym's bathroom and the elevator was out of order. It wasn't a short jaunt either to go up the stairs (lol) so this was a bit inconvenient, which made us have to leave earlier than we wanted to. My husband is disabled and it would be difficult for him to use the bathroom upstairs without the elevator working - and there was no ETA on when it'd get fixed. This is an ADA violation to not have an accessible bathroom. FOOD/DRINK: They do have snacks and food to purchase but I did not get some this time around. I got the house special of an iced spiced demerara latte with oatmilk (rich, brown sugar, cinnamon syrup) - it was delightful and delicious. Just the right balance. Hubby got cherry lime espresso fizz (on the summer specials menu). He enjoyed it but I didn't particularly like it (too bitter imho). I couldn't see what brand coffee they used, which I like to know since there are certain brands that bother me. But this place didn't bother me. They do have non-dairy/alternative milk. I would come again if I were in the area but I wouldn't really seek it out. I've had better coffee but I've also had worse. Not sure if the hype lived up.
About a 1-1.5: I was recommended to check out Basecamp, as this place seems to be a local favorite for coffee. They're located below the Vertical Rock Climbing & Fitness Center, so it's super convenient for those who have an appointment to stop by before or afterwards. We stopped by for a caffeine fix, and ordered: +an Apple Square - it was stated that this would be heated, but it was served cold +a latte with oat milk - we requested this to be extra hot, and it was more lukewarm +the Spiced Demerara Latte - prepared with brown sugar and cinnamon syrup; this was requested to be extra hot, and it was more lukewarm; the coffee itself was strong, though Not sure if the barista was overwhelmed, but it took quite some time to get our latte - we went up a couple of times, and they stated that it should be coming out soon, but it didn't. The main issue was that there seemed to be a leak from the ceiling; they had the seating area sectioned off, but it reeked of mildew/old dishrag, which was pretty gross and unpleasant, especially if you're trying to enjoy a bite and a drink. Ample parking, but it can be slightly narrow to get in and out. No dice, Basecamp. +lukewarm coffee +cold pastries +unpleasant odors
Very spacious shop with ample seating. Various specialties available and coffee beans for purchase as well. The decor and atmosphere are the highlights of the shop. You can sense that thought and care were put into the theming/decor. I could see myself coming for a work day or sitting for a coffee with friends. Service was prompt, although the shop was empty for the majority of our stay. One star deducted because the service could have been more welcoming, but overall a good experience.
Absolutely amazing. I ordered the spiced Demerara latte which was soo good. Great balanced drink between syrup and espresso. I usually like my coffee on the sweeter side but I really didn't need to add anything extra, probably because the espresso is also so smooth and delicious. Also got the cinnamon coffee muffin which was really good and dense. The girl who took my order was extremely sweet and just had great vibes and just offered super great service. Wish I got her name to shoot her out! WILL be coming back. This place was also very quiet when I came in and seems like a pretty good space to get work done and also they had lots of seating inside.
I've been here a few times now and love all the lattes they offer. I tried there Valentine's white mocha one on this visit and really enjoyed it. A lot of students here are studying so you might not find seating if you and friend want to just sit and chat. I would have given it a 5 but it lacks seating for those not studying. Not sure they require a purchase every two hours, but they should.

DRINKS I ordered an iced chai latte, and it was great. It was well-spiced and refreshing, especially considering the affordable price and the cozy atmosphere of the shop. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly! They are very efficient in getting orders out. AMBIANCE There is spacious seating inside the store, from booths to tabletop seating. There are plenty of outlets on the walls and extension cords on the floor to charge devices for work/study. Complimentary wi-fi is available, with the password listed at the front counter. Bathrooms are available upstairs. The only downside to my visit was the humidity in the store. The air was very thick and made it uncomfortable. PARKING Ample parking is available in the lot behind the plaza.

What a well kept secret!! Such creative drinks and a great selection of seasonal fun options. Super delicious and made quickly. There's plenty of seating which is great for meeting a friend here or saw plenty of people studying/working. The employees are so kind too!! I dunno if it's the cold weather, or I'm just getting lazy but I've been going out for coffee more often...which is rare since 99% of the time I make and consume it at home or office. But it is a nice treat to pop into different coffee shops around town to sample their brews. I was in the Tysons area and needed a caffeine hit. I've had Basecamp Coffee Roasters bookmarked for a while, and was encouraged that many of my Yelp friends rate it highly. It's a bit hidden and the best way to describe the location is "behind" the Chik-Fil-A. There is also parking near the entrance, so just drive down the side of the building, instead of parking in the main front part of the mall like I did since it'll save you a few steps. The interior is a mix of modern with outdoorsy chic. Poured concrete floors are juxtaposed against hardwood furniture and posters of America's national parks. I like that unlike some coffee shops, this place is brightly lit with natural illumination from the big windows and overhead track lighting. The wi-fi is also speedy and didn't lag during my visit. Since I was staying for a bit and also needed to get some work done, I ordered a "plain" drip coffee. I agree with some of the other reviews that the main criticism is that the prices are on the high side. A 16 oz drip coffee was almost $5. Was the coffee good? Yes...in fact, quite good for regular drip. The beverage was smooth, with a deep full bodied richness, and wasn't diluted when a small amount of 1/2+1/2 was added. But would I stop in on a regular basis for this coffee? Probably not. I spent a productive hour here and some people I met up with, also commented that the coffee was nice and strong. Restrooms are located up a staircase, and shared with the indoor rock climbing gym on the upper level. All in all, despite it's higher prices, Basecamp Roaster is one of the better coffee shops and worth a try if you're in the area.
I could not believe what happened here! Not a place for Black People!!!! Just had the worst experience with a company called Basecamp Coffee Roasters. Yesterday I went to the Tyson's location and was disrespected by the manager, who refused to help me because I had my phone to my ear. He ignored me when I asked to pay for an item and asked "are you done with your phone call". After I gave him feedback he responded with a typical response that he was right and I was wrong. The next day I went back to get the same item and the girl at the counter refused to ring me up and picked up the phone to call someone and he came out to tell me that he wasn't ringing me up because I was rude to him. He then said he called my manager and admitted to defaming my character because i was honest with him about his unprofessional approach. One of the most racist experiences that I have encountered in this area, was a small business around the corner from my store. As African Americans we are constantly told that our responses or challenges are rude and it's clearly because of the color of our skin. I will make this very clear to all of you in this thread, never let companies or people defame your character. They will see that everyone doesn't just turn the other cheek. I will respond but it will the courts that send the message. I have relationships with several of the locations in Tysons. I do a lot of business with them, to include the business in this plaza. I am still in shock with what happened at this location. It felt like something out of the 60's

Ordered a raspberry whit mocha which was delicious. Inside the vibe is super cool, dark moody, modern. Pictures of National parks throughout. Plenty of seating and power cords. Free WiFi. No outside seating. Drinks in my opinion were a little expensive at $6 for a small. Otherwise great coffee shop. read more
Chai was way better than I was expecting. This is a great place to do work with tons of outlets for laptops. It would be cool if the place had a headphones policy so we don't have to hear other people's zoom calls, for example. Quick service! read more
I was in the area on a weekday morning and was in search of a coffee shop. I'm glad I stopped by Basecamp because I had a pleasant experience. It was easy enough to find and there was plenty of parking. The customer service was great and the person assisting me was patient as I decided what to order. I ordered their summer special s'mores latte (I forget the official name) and a cheese danish. Both were delicious. Although I got my order to go, there was plenty of space and seating available inside. read more

I heard so much about Basecamp and I had to give it a try. It was a cold day outside and I wanted to get something hot, so I decided to do just that. It had such a home-y vibe inside and I wish I had more time to spend inside but I had to just go to grab a drink and leave. I ordered a medium hot vanilla latte with almond milk and it came out quick and perfect. It was a drinkable temperature right when I got it which was a huge plus. I really don't enjoy when some coffee shops make their drinks scorching hot when they hand them to you. When I am back in the area, I hope I can come back to Basecamp to try a different drink! read more

Got a Japanese cold drip($8) and an iced leprechaun coffee($5). The Japanese cold drip coffee was very smooth and light. I added some half and half with vanilla syrup. Leprechaun iced coffee had dulce de leche syrup and mint. Barista were nice and quick making it. Pretty solid coffee for the price, I would come back again. I absolutely love the coffee here! It's a bit pricey, but honestly, Atleast the quality lives up to it. I come here often to work because the atmosphere is super relaxed, and the staff is always friendly. The bathroom is upstairs, which is connected to a Bouldering / fitness place, so that could be a fun combo for some people! read more

After a climbing session at Vertical, my friend and I went downstairs to visit their coffee shop. The Drinks: I went with a class Iced Caramel coffee here. The coffee was good, mixed well and didn't have a burnt taste at all. Well flavored for my liking and at an affordable price as well. The Service: Service was good! The staff here are friendly and welcoming when you walk in. Ordering was easy and straight forward with orders being sent out in a timely manner. The Atmosphere: With the climbing gym being upstairs, it only makes sense that the decor and atmosphere fit into the "climbing/adventure" aesthetic. The coffee shop is spacious with plenty of seats to either relax/hangout or get some work done. They had nice National Park posters/stuff decorated around the shop as well. Really nicely decorated. Overall, a 5/5! Great coffee, very chill and relaxing vibes. Would definitely come back. read more
Stopped in to check out Basecamp Coffee Roasters while in the Tysons Corner area - found the place while using the Yelp App. Ordered the medium Nitro Cold Brew - with a splash of Half n' Half. Overall, a decent cold brew - BUT it got warm quickly - they don't serve it with ice. I'm assuming if you ask - they will add ice - but it would be a small amount of cold brew after adding the ice to the cup. There is a lot of inside seating here. Pretty big and spacious place to hang out or do some uninterrupted work here. I recently went here a few weeks ago for a meet up with friends and I do have to admire that everything wasn't loud and it was very relaxing. I got the Harvest Haze Latte as something I wanted to try something fall like. It did not disappoint but I was a bit confused when the drink came in a take away cup. I really should have asked when I ordered. I'll keep that in mind next time. The cinnamon swirl? It's really good. The person who rang me up asked if I'd like it warm and my god, I think that was the best decision I made that day. It was really good with just the right amount of sweetness while drinking my latte; really compliments each other. I think I'll be back for more; that slow drip coffee sounds enticing.. and dangerous. read more
