I love this coffee shop. They have an extensive prepared tea and coffee menu and a great selection of coffee beans, which you can buy whole or ground to your desired fineness. You can also get full pots of tea here, which I love. I get all my coarse ground coffee for my pour over here. All of the beans are roasted in house, so the quality is excellent. If you're looking to buy coffee, this is the place to go! The food menu is relatively minimal, and I generally go here for the coffee/tea, not the food. There was s a smaller and more bustling front room to sit or there is a more spacious and quiet back room if that is your vibe. I had a book club meeting here once, and the back room was great for that. They also have some fun offerings, like coffee making and tasting classes, which I haven't tried but would love to eventually! It can be quite busy, so you may have to wait for your fresh ground coffee, but just order a tea or latte to sip while you wait:) read more

The atmosphere here is so nice- you can immediately tell this is a community gathering place, with vinyl records on the walls and a shelf of board games available. There were tons of cyclists that passed through while we were there, it is pretty close to one of the trails. The coffee drinks were excellent, especially the iced lattes- there's a wide variety of flavors and they were genuinely delicious, high-quality options. However, we were really unimpressed with the food- the pastries were extremely dry, and when I ordered the bacon egg and cheese on a croissant, it came with a tiny circle of a patty that was like bacon, egg, and cheese all together in one. The pricing here is pretty cheap for above average quality coffee. You can get drip, lattes (and specialty) and this place also has really nice and homey coffee shop vibes. They also have lots of bean options (single origin & blends) you can try here! I got the "Blue Ridge Blend" pour over which is a medium-roast that has blueberry and chocolate tasting notes. Apparently, this is their most popular blend. Overall, it was pretty tasty. I could definitely taste the notes a lot better once the coffee cooled down. Nothing super special, but for about $4.50, you can get a 16 oz pour over here! The pricing is great for the quality and quantity you get here. My friend got the mocha and he thought it was pretty watery. There's also a big assortment of pastries and breakfast items here that you can grab with your coffee. I'd recommend this. read more

This is a really great coffee spot in Vienna. They have a wonderful space with a separate area that is both used for seating and an education center for which they offer classes. The ambiance is nice and soft music playing in the background. They offer some breakfast foods and pastries which are individually wrapped so probably from a local partner. We ordered our usual lattes and they were excellent! The milk was textured perfectly and at a great temperature. Some small latte art was drawn in their porcelain mug. The coffee is smooth and rich and overall a very pleasing drink. The place offers some merch to purchase as well as some beans which are roasted on the premises. I really liked the layout of the place but there wasn't a ton of parking available so you might have to park on the street. Overall, a great experience and highly recommend! read more

Pretty great experience, the little riddle/question of the day is an adorable add to the culture of this shop! I ordered a mocha and a chai latte and they were both, the perfect temperature and consistency! (I have no clue who helped me but they were super great, and quick) The lemon ricotta muffin is not to be slept on, it was quite good. A good review of this place has been long overdue. I've been an on-and-off regular ever since I moved nearby a year and a half ago, and Caffe Amouri never disappoints. The space is cozy, the hours are great, the prices are extremely reasonable, the location along the W&OD is perfect, the staff are all not only extremely friendly but also clearly passionate about their craft, and as a result the coffee is incredible. For me, one indicator of a coffee shop that truly cares about coffee is having an good and interesting house iced coffee (iced drip, not cold brew), and out of any other coffee shop I've been to Caffe Amouri has the best house iced coffee. It's smooth, refreshing, and has no bitterness or burnt flavor. If I could only have one coffee for the rest of my life, it would be their house iced coffee. Additionally, the pour overs are phenomenal. They'll make you a hand pour of any of their very large selection of coffees for a very reasonable price, and no matter what you choose, they're all prepared perfectly and each tastes unique. If you're remotely interested in learning more about tasting coffee, having a few of the hand pours will have you hooked on trying the rest of them Overall, Caffe Amouri deserves every bit of the massive amount of praise it gets. I love coffee. The drink and the lifestyle. I've been to Caffe Amouri sooo many times and I can't believe I'm just now getting to a review. COFFEE CLASS Hub and me did coffee class here. It is basically Coffee 101 with the owner and a bunch of other students. It's definitely a fun NoVA night out thing to do. You'll learn about coffee beans, coffee drinks, taste test, and have lots of fun. If you're into coffee, THE LIFESTYLE, def sign up for a class. They also host a lot of community events here, too. GOOD VIBES & LOST AND FOUND A different visit: I had put my diamond earrings in my wallet and when I was paying, one must've fallen out at the counter. I only noticed it was gone maybe... 5 hours later. I called them around 8PM and they had it! They were sooo nice. I told them my hub would pick it up the next night and they kept it low drama. I was def freaking out so this was a happy ending for me. DRINKS I always get the same drinks. A white mocha or 2 shots of espresso. They're always made perfectly. THE SHOP Lots of seating. Okay so normally I don't like to leave negative reviews unless it's warranted, but I do feel that my visits here so far have been less than satisfactory and to be honest, the food and coffee I had were not up to the standards that are being reflected in these Yelp reviews. I got the grilled cheese the first time which was pretty good, but upon getting the grilled cheese again yesterday I had to wait another 15 minutes past the time they said it would be ready (I ordered from the app). Normally I wouldn't mind much, except this made me late for my appointment and I would have hoped that for the grilled cheese sandwich and soup it shouldn't really take too long? I saw there was a girl making it but it seemed she was new because someone was next to her showing her how to make it. I was disappointed to find the grilled cheese had char marks from the oven/toaster, was not even toasted somehow but still chewy and really, I could have made a way better grilled cheese at home. They basically give you two slices of white bread and cheese in between, and it was a bit greasier than other sandwiches I've had. I don't think I'll be ordering this item again unless they change their bread/toast their sandwiches a bit more. I get that they're busy but they should change time estimates or train their staff more so they can handle food orders even when it's peak time. I also ordered an iced caffe amouri at half sweetness which was okay, but could have been slightly sweeter as I didn't taste much sweetness. The last time I came I also got an iced vanilla latte and I noticed they use more milk than coffee ratio. I'm hoping in the future they change this and use more espresso in the lattes since it's always a bit disappointing when your latte is less coffee than milk. read more

Very interesting vibe. Not the trendy, state-of-the-art decor or furnishings but more eclectic older furnishings that serves its use. However, I don't think that's what people come here for. They have open Mike in the weekends. Pretty interesting but entertaining mix. It was very enjoyable. I can't give it higher than 3 stars because there was not much pastries to choose from and clearly not made in-house and I didn't taste fresh. Based on the name, I expected better. I am a fan of Caffe Amouri! I think I need to try more items here (excuse to come back) to bump this up to a 5. So far I've tried their Chai Tea Latte and croissants. I really like the fact that they are so community driven here. I always see them with their cart during events like Oktoberfest or runs! It always makes me want to stop in. I like that they offer courses if you want to learn more about coffee and offer certifications that baristas from other coffee shops can come and get through course education in their classroom room. Personally, not a coffee person, so I would only be interested in their specialty drinks or Tea options. The Latte was good. It was slightly creamy and had good spice level (normally shops ask what milk you would like- they were packed when I went and I was rushed passed the register so I guess I got default). The place was packed on a Sunday Morning at 9am. The line was out to door so the wait was about 45 minutes for a latte to go and a croissant. I would highly suggest bringing a friend with you so that you can talk with them. Overall I am a fan of this coffee shop. I love the fact that they are so passionate about their product that they educate other, I enjoy they have glass containers with beans separated out from various parts of the world and that they are so community driven. read more

I was not impressed with the service or the 2 items ordered. I went during the week at about 9 am. I ordered a muffin-lemon ricotta and a chocolate croissant. I figured that since it was being there 3 hours after they opened, the bakery items ordered would be very fresh. However, it wasn't as fresh as expected. The chocolate croissant was a disappointment. It was a tad bid dry, even the croissants at Costco are more buttery. The taste of the muffin-lemon ricotta tasted good, but wasn't very moist. The service was just average. read more

Disclaimer: I did not get a chance to try coffee at Caffe Amouri, so my review only covers food and service. I placed an online order on a Saturday morning and when I got to the cafe, it was packed. The line stretched out the door. It was my first time, so I asked someone working where I was supposed to wait for online orders. She asked my name and then went and spoke to her coworker. It definitely seems like she helped push my order along in the queue which I'm super grateful for! I got a bacon, egg and cheese English muffin. The bread was delicious but the actual sandwich was very, very disappointing. The "bacon" part was just bacon bits mixed into an egg puck. Simply one of the best coffee houses around, in the true spirit of old coffee houses. Independently owned, Amouri roasts his own coffee: his award-winning Dutchess makes the BEST cappucinos at home. That being said, I'm perpetually in search of a good cappucino. Unfortunately, coffee-flavored milk is too often offered. At Cafe Amouri, you must try their traditional cappucino which is bonafide luscious. I often go in to pick Dutchess to take home and leave with a traditional cappucino as a special treat. Mr Amouri is also legendary in Vienna for his commitment to the community, hosting talent shows during Viva Vienna for local kids and adults for years, among other endeavors. They don't have dine-in available so they take your order at their door and call your name out once your order is ready. I start by saying that I received excellent service here. I know I was being difficult and asking a lot of questions about their lattes. First off their coffee is amazing, they serve giant cookies from Midnight Treats and their Mexican Hot Chocolate is so rich, spicy and flavorful! They have lots of seating and free WiFi so this is a great place to visit if you want to catch up with a friend or get a few hours of work done. They advertise several "Penny University" classes for the community which includes everything from mindfulness to Thai cooking. I always have a fun time to see what their offerings are. Additionally, if you'd like to know more about coffee sampling or roasting they have master classes for that as well. Love this little Vienna gem! read more

The cashier/order taker was so nice and friendly she greeted us with such joy. I wanted to order an iced/cold london fog but it was not listed on the menu, she let me know it is possible! My party of three got an iced london fog, iced honey matcha latte with .25 pump sweetener, and a latte with alternative milk/soy milk. It took a bit for our order because it was a bit flowy amount of people. When we got our order, one of the drinks was hot instead of ice but they quickly gave us another cup with ice so we can just pour it in. It was enjoyable!
