    Cold Mezze Sampler

This was a last minute decision when searching for Mediterranean restaurants. The decor was beautiful, the noise level was great for table conversation, and the food and drink was delicious (pot of Moroccan Mint Green Tea, Cold Mezze Sampler, Kofte Kebab, and Grilled Wild Salmon). We were seated promptly and food arrived quickly. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because after asking for to-go boxes, our waiter did not come back for quite sometime so we couldn't get the check and pay. We didn't really mind since it was not overly loud.

Moda is a gorgeous, Turkish-style cafe with beautiful decor and hanging lights. Both their menu and staff are truly Turkish, from their Turkish brunch menu to their Turkish tea, Turkish delights, and the waiter's Turkish hats. The food is pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The Turkish brunch and desserts are where they really shine. They also have surprisingly really yummy iced lattes, and amazing tea of course. I'm really surprised this place doesn't have better reviews because it's one of my favorite spots- and they're also open extra late during Ramadan (until 4am)!! Love Moda cafe downnnn

We happened to be in the Chantilly, VA area and I remembered hearing about Moda Cafe, so we decided to stop in for breakfast. We ordered the Turkish Brunch for Two, which came with an assortment of spreads, fresh bread, two different styles of eggs, French fries, a Turkish cheese stick, and two small hot teas. Everything was delicious -- I could've eaten the spreads all day. Although it's listed as a brunch for two, it's definitely enough for 3-4 people to share. I also ordered a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice, which was great. The restaurant itself was clean with plenty of seating, and they have a big selection of desserts on display that looked really good. Service was okay, nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. It did seem like they have a lot of regulars, and the staff interaction with them felt a bit different. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and if I'm in the area again, I'd love to come back and try their lunch or dinner menu.

This cafe was lovely and relaxing to be! I went here with my family and baby cousins! They offered some free desserts and the coffee here was amazing. A great family store!

Service is variable. I sat for what seemed to be a long time until I was waited. on. The atmosphere is a mixture of spare tables in an over decorated space. There are many menu items worth exploring. I enjoyed the Lahmajun, a sort of ground beef flatbread.

This place was truly spectacular! Stepping into it was like stepping into another world with its bright ambiance and the artwork that was each dessert in the display. I got some of the savory baked goods, and the biscotti cake with some coffee and it was absolutely divine. The staff was very sweet and calm despite the big rush that was there. I went back for a total of 3 times during my 2 week stay; it was really that good. A gem in NOVA!

I ordered through DoorDash and the service was quick! The food arrived hot, and it was absolutely delicious!! I ordered the Moda Mix Grill and it was phenomenal!! It came with a variety of meats, and everything was cooked perfectly! My only complaint would be is that it came with too many red onions, but that's just me. The DoorDash app doesn't allow you to make that option to remove the onions. Regardless, will definitely be ordering from here again!

Big fan of Moda Cafe! It looks so unassuming from the outside but once you walk in you are greeted with bright decor and a positive atmosphere. The seating is almost divided between tables catering to the cafe vs more seating for the restaurant. We came as a group of 5 for dinner on a Saturday night. We didn't have a wait - got seated right away without having a reservation. Our orders were promptly taken and food was relatively quick to arrive. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals! I had the chicken adana kebab and would definitely get it again. I especially love when cafes/restaurants are kid-friendly and Moda Cafe was great! Everyone on the staff was so nice to my toddler. She got crayons and an activity book upon getting seated in her high chair. We ordered hummus for her and she loved it! They do have a kids menu but the hummus appetizer sounded better to us. They have diaper changing tables in the bathrooms (surprising how many places don't). Definitely recommend for a meal with kids. When you dine-in you will notice that occasionally the music gets very loud and it either means their signature on fire meal is coming out or a birthday dessert & song is coming. I found this disruptive at first because it's so loud you can't speak with others in your party. However by the time we left we were all clapping along each time the music came on :) Save room for tea & dessert! At the end of our meal we were treated to Turkish tea & treats - so great! And this was after we polished off dessert. My husband, daughter, and I split the Moda Pudding cup, the pistachio & chocolate flavor. It was sooo good! We ended up coming back again more recently to get this dessert again, for takeout. All the desserts in the case look so great. I do highly recommend the Moda Pudding or the Pistachio Magnolia (the Dubai Tower was just okay to me).

Very clean, stylishly designed place with nice atmosphere and music. Extremely polite personnel, fast service and delicious food just like you would have in Turkey! Trust me, as for over 20 years I've been traveling all around Turkey Your kids going to feel very welcomed and treated nicely They also have a wide celection of deserts, Turkish tea&coffee . And a very nice detail as for bday party, they bring a candle, put different music for a moment and make you feel special! ( I've witnessed 2 tables congratulations this evening) I'm definitely coming back and suggesting it to my friends &family.

    Simit breakfast

I would agree with others that ambiance is really nice. It feels luxurious yet cozy. HOWEVER as we've learned growing up, never judge book by its cover. Honestly food was terrible. I used to be an enthusiastic fan of Turkish food but this place made me have a second thought. I don't know whether they microwave all breads but bread that came out as appetizer & simit were terribly hard as if they were microwaved for way too long that the breads lost moistness and became so dry that you can even tell from your eyes how weirdly bread shrank and its texture like rubber). I couldn't even cut with my knife and my jaw was hurt after the first bite from excessive chewing that I didn't even try the bottom part of simit. I am a pretty patient eater (meaning unless food is outrageously terrible I would still finish it) but this is my first time having so much leftover that I had to fill my stomach with appetizer bread (even this was tough that I almost dissected the bread to only eat relatively soft part). Also be wary that they charge you for water!!! It's not like we are in Europe. They have no tap water and you have to pay for it like wth?! It is such a rip off. I am not sure if it will be better with just takeouts but definitely not recommending dine-in. You heard enough through other reviews so I am going to drop the mic here

    Modern trendy decor

We were the first ones here at 9:07 am even though they open the cafe at 8 and the kitchen at 9 for breakfast at 9 on Saturday. However, the place was lively by 9:30 with a wide range of patrons. The decor was modern and trendy with a unique and classy vibe for this area. The food was excellent and delicious. We ordered the "Full Turkish Breakfast" for two and were not disappointed by the quantity, variety or quality. Our server was friendly, as was the host who seated us. We heard several languages being spoken at the tables around us, including English, Turkish and Arabic - it draws a diverse crowd. Great place to try new things if you don't know Turkish food or to get modern takes on classics if you know it well. Enjoy!

The atmosphere is modern and inviting, and not overwhelming. I ordered food to-go because I did not want to deal with the Hookah smoke, and this is what I suggest for anyone else not comfortable with Hookah. The food is absolutely worth it! I ordered the Uyghur Samosa and Lamb Kabob. Uyghur Samosas are flaky, buttery pastries packed with a ground meat mixture(just like Vietnamese Pate Chaud!). Super delicious. Now, I'm not a lamb guy but the lamb kabob just blew me out of the water. Not gamy in the slightest, the meat is tender and has plenty of spice. Pickled onions and pita are a nice compliment. Could not recommend the lamb enough!! Please do yourself a favor and visit Ocean8, they deserve more recognition.

Incredibly…read moregratifying especially in the rich flavors and succulent taste & textures of the food served at dinner. Ali, Raoul, and the spectacular staff of Ocean8 for created a superb dining experience & introduction to exotic Ugyhur & Afghan cuisine. The staff and people we met there and dined with were very kind & gracious towards us. It was our first experience with Uyghur and Afghan cuisine and food we never had. All of the food was highly delicious. We had appetizers, dinner, and desserts in a buffet style. Servers came to our table and provided cups of ice and canned / bottled drinks of water and soda to us. The manager, Raoul, went from table to table to talk and provide assistance to us and all of the guests. Despite the huge crowd of diners, the staff were very professional and made sure all the guests needs were met. The appetizers we sampled were the: *Turkish Cheese Rolls The Star of all the appetizers. We loved the rich, lush, and creamy flavor. It was ideal to eat this appetizer first before sampling the other appetizers. ( Crispy, thin pastry rolls filled with creamy feta cheese and fresh parsley, lightly fried to perfection - reminiscent of the Italian version of a mozzarella stick) * Punjabi Samosa This appetizer gave an intense punch of flavor & spice in the first bite. It was the spiciest, unique, & most memorable flavor among all the appetizers served. ( A Punjabi Samosa is a crispy, golden pastry filled with a spiced blend of potatoes, peas, and aromatic herbs. Deep-fried to perfection and served with tangy tamarind and zesty mint chutneys. A classic North Indian street food favorite. * Uyghur Samosa Very easy to eat, delicious, and reminded me of a hand held version of chicken pot pie. My least favorite yet still a good appetizer. ( It is a breaded appetizer filled with seasoned minced beef and onions, topped with sesame seeds. ) This was the last appetizer I ate, and it reminded me of an Asian & Arabic smaller version of a chicken pot pie. Very tasty. ) * Afghan Homestyle Bolani I love how it was mildly flavored with spice and it was like an Afghan version of a quesadilla. ( An Afghan Bolani is a crispy, stuffed potato flatbread from Afghanistan filled with potatoes, green onion, chili peppers, and fresh herbs. It's pan fried until golden brown and crispy then cut into wedges.) * Garden Salad - A fresh and vibrant mix of cucumber, tomato, onions, and peppers. Dinner was Uyghur Pilaf Rice, Lamb chops, Uyghur Lamb Shish Kebab , a meatloaf like burger with an onion filling inside it, Ocean8 Chicken Chops, and Cacık Yogurt. The dinner entrees had more spice and intense flavors than the appetizers. My favorite entree was the lamb chop especially when eaten with the side of Uyghur pilaf rice and the cacik yogurt. The other meat dishes were superb in their flavor, spices, and presentation as well. Cacik, pronounced ja-jik is a Turkish yogurt and cucumber dish that's very common in almost all regions in Turkey. It was my favorite side & condiment to combine with the rice and dinner entrees. It reminded me of raita, and I ate the cacik with my dinner entrees the way I would eat raita. Raita is a classic Indian side dish made with cool, creamy yogurt, crisp cucumber, onions, and fresh herbs. It's a flavorful way to balance out the bold, spicy flavors of Indian food. We ordered two takeouts of the dessert we wanted to try at home after eating so much at the restaurant - the Tiramisu Cake. It was light, airy, and melted in your mouth - dessert perfection in taste and texture. I usually skip dessert but I could resist not trying this dessert. Overall, we were very highly satisfied and grateful for our dining experience at Ocean 8. We look forward to having future food experiences there.
