Always a good meal at a First Watch. Hope they return the BEG to the menu........ kale tonic and a coffee every time

I have never been to a First Watch before so I wanted to try this with a friend. Food (5/5): I have nothing negative to say about the food. The coffee was good and free flowing. I had at the $14 half and half lunch deal, which got me a half Monterey Jack and turkey melt sammie and a half avocado Cobb salad. I was going to eat half of this but it was so good that I ate the entire thing. The sandwich on brioche bread was really great. I really liked the sweet bread that the ham and cheese was on. Service (5/5): They were so nice here - service is great! Ambiance (3/5): It is a nice upscale diner, so the ambiance was not great. I didn't mind it, but it wasn't a fancy place. read more

This area is in need of a good diner. Breakfast food comes out cold - English muffin and meat. Not hard things to make

Average experience with a few opportunities Parking is abundant and easy to find! Service was mixed bag. There was no one to greet/seat me upon entering for a few minutes which wasn't the biggest deal, when a hostess did approach the front desk another customer cut me, the hostess serviced them before I, and did not excuse themselves to do so; I felt invisible. When addressing me no "Hi", no "Hello", straight to "are you Dining in or taking out". When getting seated my server asked me if I was ready to order 3 times within 6 minute, but also didn't approach in the warmest manner; I don't think he meant harm by it, but it felt rushed. I watched that same server connect with other customers without that same urgency to place an order so it wa strange. The food was great! I got the Chickichanga with a side of homestyle potatoes along with coffee, and a Mocha Mint Iced Coffee! All straight bangers, all great recommendations I'd suggest. My only suggestion is putting coffee creamers into actual refrigerated containers instead of using the little Delight Plastic containers; it would be more classy, you've invested so much into presentation this would be the cherry on top. Also it would save on plastic. The restaurant is beautiful! I'm a big fan of First Watch. I've been to their locations in Chantilly, Charlottesville, and Pittsburgh; they are great with giving each restaurant its own personality. This is an awesome space to bring family, dates, celebrations, anything! All in all I will return, and I hope when I do the customer service etiquette is better! read more

First Watch in Reston absolutely knocked it out of the park! Let's start with the turkey sausage gravy biscuits with eggs -- devious in the best way possible. Rich, savory, comforting, and perfectly balanced, it's the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the plate is cleared. Pure breakfast bliss. The roast beef and Havarti sandwich was equally impressive -- tender, flavorful, and indulgent without being heavy. Paired with the vegetable soup, which was fresh, hearty, and full of flavor, it made for a perfectly satisfying meal. And the mimosas? Made with fresh orange juice and poured generously bright, refreshing, and exactly how brunch should feel. Top it all off with absolutely fabulous, friendly service that makes you feel genuinely welcome, and you've got a five-star experience across the board. First Watch! You've earned every star. Can't wait to come back! read more

First Watch, located on Sunset Hills Rd in Reston near Reston Town Center, offers fresh, innovative breakfast, brunch, and lunch options in a bright, modern, and clean environment. Known for its breakfast favorites like omelets, avocado toast, and healthy juices, and for quick, friendly service, it is a popular spot for breakfast, brunch, and lunch, serving tasty, hearty, and healthier choices. We tried several dishes, all of which were excellent, and we highly recommend: The Strawberry Tres Leches French Toast is a seasonal specialty that combines classic French toast with a Hispanic dessert. It features thick slices of challah soaked in rich custard, topped with fresh strawberries, dulce de leche, whipped cream, and gingerbread cookie crumbs. This sweet, indulgent brunch treat is great for sharing and highly recommended. The Elevated Egg Sandwich is a hearty breakfast option with an over-easy egg, Gruyère cheese, smashed avocado, lemon-dressed arugula, and mayonnaise on a brioche bun. It's fresh, creamy, savory, with bacon adding crunch and flavor. First Watch's Avocado Toast features toasted whole-grain bread topped with smashed avocado, olive oil, lemon, and Maldon salt, served with two cage-free eggs for a satisfying start. Kale Tonic is a refreshing, nutrient-packed green juice made with kale, Fuji apple, English cucumber, and lemon. It offers a crisp, balanced, and slightly sweet flavor, making it an ideal choice for health-conscious diners. read more

I came here on a late Sunday morning with my dog. They had a nice outdoor patio and offered him some water too. I didn't wait to be seated because I put myself in line on the app. It gave me a time estimate, and when I arrived it was accurate and I was seated immediately. My server was Bridget. She was very friendly. My food was delicious! I got a cold brew alcoholic drink, lemon ricotta pancakes, and million dollar bacon. It was a huge amount of food and everything was delicious. My only complaint is the bacon was soggy, but I don't think it's possible for bacon covered in syrup to be not soggy. Overall I had a great experience! I am glad they opened a First Watch near me. read more

Second visit to this restaurant. Waitlist worked well, were seated shortly after arriving. Tried the smoked salmon frittata that is supposed to come with greens and toast. Frittata was tasty. I asked to swap for gluten free toast and it never came. I reminded the runner, never saw the server until he brought the bill. He declined to make any adjustments to the bill. I had just done 2 hours of cardio and the carbs were sorely missed. read more

Yeah I will never return to this location. It's always something. Something is always wrong. I can never enjoy a meal. After waiting 30 minutes to be sat and another 30 minutes for EGGS to hit the table - my meal was WRONG instead of preparing me a fresh entree. They served me the same dish except they removed the eggs and put eggs they clearly already had working because those too were over cooked. When you mess up a meal you make a fresh one. I asked for the new hash with over easy eggs. It came out with scrambled eggs. The next meal came out in 3 minutes w overcooked eggs on it. And at that point I was over it. They ended up comping the entire meal which I did not find necessary I would've paid for my daughter's entree. I still will not return despite the meal being comped. There has not been one time I've dined at this location where I left happy besides the very first time. read more

Luv the remodel... inside is open and inviting with a lovely patio option. Was fun to see a familiar face... our waiter used to work at Chuy's as well as other spots along his career! While I'm sure all servers great... ask for Darrell... tell him PRPLE recommended him... I get nothing from that other than a smile when I see him next! Please review the menu before you come as their options are eclectic... some might say upscale... but it's great to have these inventive options on pancakes, salads, and more... We have been to first watch once before and early awaited the Reston opening... Hubby ordered the million dollar Bloody Mary and a waffle adding real maple syrup. Luv they have real as an option. I decided to do the 2 by 2 and ordered the Monterey club and honey pecan salad First thought on his Bloody Mary... a little heavy handed in the old bay but okay. He isn't into candied bacon which is the garnish but I am... it's tasty and if I remember something you can order on the side... it's sweet and peppery. My sandwich was stacked... hard to fit in my big mouth (lol). Liked the salad but a bit too much dressing ... if you like warm sweet and bacon it's for you. Glad to see them open... welcome to Reston read more

Grand opening of First Watch in Reston in the former Carrabba's location next to Chic Fil a and across from Target. We signed up for Friends & Family which is a great opportunity to try a new addition to the community. Kudos to the First Watch corporation for doing this. We were frequent diners at Carrabbas and the remodel job is outstanding. Very modern look and a large outdoor covered area which makes for a very pleasant dining experience especially on a beautiful spring afternoon. The food? First Watch is a more upscale IHOP or Cracker Barrel is my assessment. The Elevated Egg Sandwich, Works Omelette, Floridian French Toast and the Honey Pecan Salad were all spot on and tasty. Portions are quite large and the omelette and egg sandwich comes with nicely browned potatoes. Coffee was also very good. First Watch has been expanding significantly and we're glad there is a location in Reston. We will be adding First Watch Reston to our roster of breakfast restaurants. One note...Friends and Family provides an opportunity for staff to get acclimated and 'dry run' with real customers. You could tell our waitress was new to waiting tables so service was definitely on the slow side. Mgmt-please make sure you use this as a teaching opportunity for your less experienced staff. read more

I really enjoy frequenting this First Watch. The atomospere is always pleasant as are the servers. I am always greeted with a smile and the service is top notch. Even when it is busy, I do not feel rushed or that I am an inconvience to the staff. The food is great and the variety is fantastic. I appreciate the way they decorated the Reston location - very modern and fresh looking. Definitely recommend for breakfast or brunch. read more

This is a great establishment!! There is lot of diversity. The food was amazing and great servers! The inside is very clean and fashionable. I love it!! The family did not like how the eggs were too cooked when they ordered Benedict. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pancakes but the rest of the food was fabulous! read more

Honestly, I love first watch, but this location was quite a disappointment. Great location with plenty of parking but the staff seem unorganized and overwhelm with too much customer. Ambiance nice and clean. Kale tonic $5.79 - Nice refreshing green drink full with veggie Pick 2 $11.99- The Ham sandwhich was delicious but the salad barely have any chicken or dressing on it. I will still support First Watch maybe they will improve later on since they just open . read more

The food was tasty and well portioned , pleasant and attentive service staff, with a quaint surrounding.

This location had a "soft opening" on Saturday 17th and Sunday18th of May, Opening day was Monday, 19th of May and we went for the first time on Tuesday, 20th of May. I am happy to say that the staff "has it together". We spoke with one of the trainers and the trainers will be here until this weekend. Clearly, the staff seems to all be new, but are doing a great job. This is the 4th First Watch we had visited. This in Reston seems to be the most efficient one so far. Maybe it is because this is a new location, but I hope that the great service and quality of the food continues. We had the usual Trifecta (i.e., Belgium waffle, eggs and bacon but without the blueberry compote as we find it too sweet). The waffle was cooked correctly with crisp edges, the bacon is some of the best we have had at any restaurant and the eggs were cooked perfectly. We asked for warm syrup and it was warm. And, payment can be made at the table by scanning the bill with your camera phone or pay at the register. Out waitress, Jennifer, did a great job. We wish her the best of luck in this new job. We will be back! read more

For a breakfast/lunch spot only, you would think they have exceptional or at least above average breakfast/lunch...it was not. Very bland food with almost no flavor. Disappointed because it is always packed. Not sure if we got the chef on a bad day but it was a huge miss! read more

Very disappointing experience (again) at First Watch in Reston on a Wednesday morning at 9:30. No one was at the host stand when we arrived, and this seems to be an ongoing issue whenever we visit this location. Service was extremely slow, and our server rarely checked on us and we would go find her inside. My order arrived incorrectly because they had run out of sausage links but hadn't informed the servers. I requested bacon instead, but it never arrived. We also had to ask for syrup after pancakes were served. The manager comped the meal, which we appreciated, but there seemed to be excuse after excuse for the poor service. The Fair Lakes First Watch is consistently excellent. The difference between the two locations is remarkable read more

food is always good here, I'm a regular here and would always recommend this place to anyon who comes to visit. Ambiance is great, with very welcoming environment, but the servers it depends who you get. Today, when my son and I came in, the service was good and prompt, we got seated right away because it was slow, and the server came right away and took our order but not once she introduced herself. My recommendation is for the staff to always introduce themselves that's all. read more

Love First Watch. They offer a healthier breakfast menu without all the added grease other restaurants around here do. I'm sure it's going to be hard for some of those who claim the menu to be "complicated" but it is only a page and very simple. I've been going to First Watch in South Florida for years and I'm glad it's up here, especially when you want to grab something really good that doesn't disappoint. read more

First time visiting this location, we dined on a Saturday around 1:30. There was a 30 minute wait, we decided to wait in the car bc they didn't have the biggest seating area. (Which was fine. ) Apparently the bar is first come, first serve seating, but it was full. They currently have a fall menu, everything looked so tasty. We ordered a mimosa and iced coffee. I ordered the Salmon Frittata and my friend had a classes waffle and eggs. Our server Conor was super kind and helpful. 100% recommend! read more

I usually love First Watch, but I will never return to this location. I came in last Saturday morning a little before 8am. The restaurant was very slow, and I was waiting to pick up a to-go order. During my wait, about five employees walked by me. Not one of them said hello, looked at me, or even acknowledged that I was there. Meanwhile, I watched other customers get greeted and assisted right away. Eventually, I just grabbed my order off the pickup cart and left, still without a single word from anyone on staff. As someone who is a big fan of First Watch, this was very disappointing. I don't want to assume intentions, but I couldn't help but notice I was the only Black person in the restaurant, and the lack of acknowledgment stung. This experience was unacceptable, and unfortunately, I won't be back to this location. read more

Sunday breakfast (the 2nd time we've been there in a month) table for 2. Wait time was as quoted and about 30 mins for a Sunday around noon. My husband had the traditional breakfast with over easy eggs, potatoes, ham and sides of grits and 1 biscuit & gravy. That's his go-to order at First Watch and never disappoints. The biscuit & gravy was really good! It seems they cut a biscuit in half and toast it and then pour gravy on top and it was quite tasty. Off the new fall menu I had the maple bacon croissant sandwich which is delicious! The combo of sausage and maple with the apricot jam on a buttery croissant is fantastic. Food was excellent this visit thankfully because the service was awful. Once seated we weren't greeted for 10 minutes. Food took over 1/2 an hour to arrive. Server was very apologetic for the late greeting and acknowledged it took a really long time for our food. Then she was never to be seen again except in passing. I got the blazing dragon juice drink which was very good and my husband had coffee, small OJ and small glass of milk but she never brought the water to our table at all. I will add that the server gave us 2 cups of coffee even though we only ordered one. No clearing of plates or glasses and we waited almost 15 minutes after finishing our meal for her to come back to our table. 2 mugs, 3 glasses, 2 entrees and 2 additional sides is a lot of stuff to have on your table for the entirety of the meal. If she had brought water she would have had to make room for the cute carafe they serve it in and 2 more glasses. All in all, great food and check was $47 after using free entree promo but sadly the service is hugely lacking in comparison. We will go back for the food but will bring my water bottle in with me next time just in case service hasn't improved. read more

Great service and yummy breakfast items. We had the bacon parmesan hash special and the trifecta and really liked having our own coffee pot.

It was ok but way overpriced. We were supposed to be a party of four so we had put our names on a waitlist. There was no reason for a waitlist on Sunday morning is less than half place with seated. Two of us arrived first and our other two showed up with someone they had run into so they've decided to join us. There was an empty tub top next to us and instead of just moving that over they made us pick up all our stuff and moved to a different table. We were short silverware, we were short a glass, we were short coffee cups, we had to ask three different times for them to be brought to the table. One meal came out missing its bacon one meal came out with salad or greens instead of potatoes. Two people ordered French toast and pancakes. No syrup was brought. One person asked for a toasted English muffin with butter and an untasted, plain English muffin came out with jam/preserves on the side. Yeah we won't be coming back to this place. read more

I just had the most unpleasant experience at Reston's recently opened First Watch location. It's a steamy 89 degrees outside and the host seats my party near a propped door with an adjacent side by the bar area that is opened to the patio. When I approach the host, he said he would send over the Manager - but they never did. Then when our food was served, it was not as I ordered it. Even when they attempt to re-serve it, it still was not made as ordered and needed to be re-made once again. Incredibly disappointing dining experience. What was most troubling was the apathetic and unapologetic response I received from the Manager, Bernadette. I have been frequenting First Watch for decades and this is not the level of service I have come to expect. One and done for me! read more
