Five stars for the ube breakfast sandwiches and the breakfast sandwiches as a whole. We came here after the falls and I'm soooo glad. The ube bun on my sandwich (pictured) was so delicious. I didn't use the ube sauce because the bread was already a bit sweeter than I prefer but the sweetness with the savory/salty meat was amazing. The sandwich was also huge and filling. I only ate half in one sitting. On location: this restaurant is located on the golf course but it's publicly accessible and it's not awkward at all. Only reason I'm giving four stars is because the lumpia was terrible. It was nothing like my Tita's or any other lumpia I've ever had. And the price of $5 for two very thin, under-filled rolls was not my jam.

This place has been in my "Must Try" collection for some time now and I finally had the chance to make it happen. I was glad to have reread reviews so that I realized it was on the Herndon public golf course bc if not I would've sworn I was being punked. #1 customer service is a perfect 5 stars! The gentleman running the front of house was so pleasant and patient and helped me make decisions on the menu (& we had great conversation while I waited). #2 all food is cooked to order and fresh! #3 a very unexpected menu given the location and it's definitely authentic! Whenever I see SPAM on a menu I'm ordering it bc I mean how often do you get to grub on retro goodness? The SPAM fries were crispy and salty and all the things SPAM dreams are made of. The Ube Waffle was so unique and the macerated strawberries and Ube syrup that accompanied it were wonderful! I wish the chicken tenders that came along w the combo were true chicken breast but they were fried nicely. Ambiance wise it was cool to overlook the golf course but it definitely feels like the place is still a teenager coming into its own style while trying a few things out of that makes sense lol. I'll probably visit again to try the rice dishes and lumpia :)

Awesome spot. Doesn't stand out since it's within a golf center, but anyone who golfs there or lives in the general area are lucky to have this place so close. Lots of seating space inside and you can either order up front or online to go. Plenty of great options and the bowl I had was amazing. Lumpia in the bowl is also a nice touch! Service was efficient. Can't wait to come back here.

It's at a golf course. One of the staff was rude like trying to rush us. It wasn't really relaxing because there old men cackling. We got the Lumpiang Filipino Beef Egg Rolls, Ube Waffle, Ube Breakfast Burger. The lumpia you could tell it was frozen. The ube waffle should have been paired with coconut ice cream with condense milk. The ube breakfast burger was tiny and it didnt taste like ube. I don't think I would come back except for the fries.

This shop is located inside a golf course in Herndon. It's small inside but with big flavors of yummy dishes!! My favorite is their sweet pork longanisa silog bowl and spicy beef lumpia! If you have not had sweet pork longanisa, it is like sausage meat that is sweet sticky savory but it is ground up and topped on their seasoned rice. Their spicy lumpias are so good, always fresh. Crispy outer layer and very well seasoned stuffing inside. They do get busy, so we usually order pick up. And food is usually ready in 15-20 minutes.

We stopped by for brunch on our way out of town. We had no idea that Egg Karne was located on the Herndon Golf Course. While that was initially a bit shocking, once we saw the menu, we decided to stay and give it a go. So glad we did! I haven't been able to find a lot of Filipino food home. The idea of spam fries was probably the hook. We both got the Silog breakfast - one with sausage and one with pork belly. We felt it gave us a chance to try most of the menu, however, we did miss out on the Ube Waffle (neither of us were in Waffle mood). I cleaned my plate - the best recommendation I could give regarding the food quality. Portion size was decent. Yes, I would wish for a bit more, however, the prices are decent for what you get. Drinks, even soft drinks, were a bit pricy, but that is a function of being on a golf course. Speaking of the course, there is a few seats in the back that give you an excellent view. Overall, not a bad way to enjoy breakfast before heading home.

I couldn't tell from the pictures that Egg Karne was a little odd-spot café for the Herndon golf course. I was starting to doubt my Google Maps directions but fortunately, I saw their small logo on the building. The entrance was also weird. It felt like an emergency exit of the building and kind of prompted me to return to my car but I was like, "Heck, I'm here, let's find out" and went in. The décor was also not quite there. I read somewhere that the golf course sponsors it. Its owner probably wanted to offer food to the golfers. The overall feel of the place wasn't very welcoming or inviting. Its primary function was perhaps to provide some food and not much else. Honestly, if the food tastes good, I don't care about any of that. So, how was the FOOD? The meat bowls were tasty. The runny egg, oiled-up rice, and fresh chilis brought the balance. The downside to Egg Karne is that I didn't see anything else I wanted to try on the menu. The meat bowls were it. VERDICT: If you're craving Filipino food and live near Herndon, get their meat bowl. I wouldn't drive far though.

We ordered the longanisa bowl, ube waffles and longanisa egg cheese sandwich.

The foods was amazing. You have to go order your food first before sitting down. Like a self service. Its a little cute place located inside the golf coarse. Ambiance is great. I would recommend this place.

We decided to finally check this spot out before a round of golf! This has been on my "must try" list for a while now... and the wait was totally worth it! I ordered the Silog bowl with pork belly and it was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend! I want to try it again with spam! It was a great combination of umami, perfectly cooked rice, yolkie egg, and peppers. Loved every single bite of it... maybe a bit too much! Having that full of a belly kinda impacted my golf game! I would come back here again for brunch and get a bucket of balls to practice with, or even play 9 holes. The golf course and restaurant are laid back with out the elitism you get in some other spots. There were tons of to-go orders and even a sign w/ a QR code to order. Come for the food, stay for golf. It's totally worth it!

Ube waffle, adobo fries, sisig bowls

Sorry guys, I can't agree with all these rave reviews. There is or was an Egg Karne inside the 99 Ranch in Fairfax... they never seemed to have lechon sisig or adobo, so I thought I'd come out to the restaurant. I was definitely surprised it was on a golf course! We came around 2pm on a Sunday. Prime time for food considering the golfers right? Well right off the bat several menu choices were not available including fish and chicken tenders. These are not difficult ingredients typically as they are fried.. but ok. We settled on a sisig bowl, adobo fries, and ube waffle. I've had a lot of sisig and this one is heavily seasoned with liver. It's not crispy at all, and was only so-so. It was a bit disappointing as we frequently order sisig from other places and this one wasn't quite up to par. Next was the adobo fries. Basic ingredients for adobo are soy sauce, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar. The best part of the adobo is letting all the ingredients meld together. Unfortunately these ingredients seemed quickly put together. The vinegar taste was quite strong and not well-balanced. It was like someone was making adobo for the first time. Lastly, we had the ube waffle. Since chicken wasn't available, we just had it plain. The sauce is actually quite nice though you don't get much ube flavor in the waffle itself. Overall, we thought it was a meh experience and prolly caters more to those unfamiliar with Filipino flavors.

About three years ago, I attended a Yelp Elite event in Rosslyn, and met a couple fellow Elite members who first told me about Egg Karne. I heard great things about this place and bookmarked it. Today, I decided to finally check it out with a friend, and was pleasantly satisfied with everything about Egg Karne. First, I was surprised that this place is truly situated at a golf course. Located in a residential area right before Historic Herndon, this place is tucked away at the Herndon Centennial Golf Course. I went inside and was surprised the amount of seating available. Raj was super friendly, and took the time to explain to my Filipino friend the various menu choices. We ultimately decided on the Lechon Sisig, Adobo Pork Belly Fries, Longanisa, and Ube Waffle with Chicken. I really enjoyed my Lechon Sisig. The chili peppers add the extra kick and flavor to the already delectable dish. I probably could have gone without the fries, as it was not super special to rave about. The Ube Waffle was delicious, and surprisingly not crispy like most regular waffles. The Longanisa was packed with flavor! Can't wait to go back!

Longsilog Bowls and Adobo Pork Belly Fries

My girlfriend picked this place for lunch since we were making a few stops in the area. We've been trying to come here ever since it opened but we never had the chance. It's located right along a golf course, in the same building as the shop. We were having late lunch so there were only 2-3 people in their dining room which is a pretty decent size. They have a pretty big menu but we both ordered a longsilog bowl and an order of adobo fries. It did not take too long obviously and when it came out I was shocked at the amount of food. Well, I mean we brought it on ourselves. The adobo fry portion was huge! Very cheesy and a decent amount of meat. Not exactly the adobo flavor I'm used to but still pretty good. Only finished half. The longsilog bowls were also pretty weighty but I'll eat almost any meat over rice and just destroyed it. It's not whole longanisa links but more chopped up but still good. Lot of rice too which I love but wish there was a little more atsara. Lumpia was decent, not really meaty but I wouldn't say no to more! They have such a large menu that it would take forever to try everything but I would definitely come back. Hopefully they do open another location like this. I know they had Kusina before so maybe that could be revived somehow?

We got this takeout for breakfast since we were working from home. Me and mom go the Longanisa rice bowl. My dad got the bacon bowl. My sister got the Ube waffles. And my boyfriend got the lechon sisig. Everything was amazing! We shared our food and everyone thinks the same. Our favorite was the longanisa though! It was so flavorful and delicious. Service was slow, it took a long time to get our food out. And the ambiance was super nice as it was by the golf course. Service needs to be improved, however food is perfect!

They have daily happy hour from 4-6 pm, which is pretty awesome, starting early and ending late. There is also a power hour from 3-6, where everything on the happy hour menu is $5, which is a little early!! The menu includes regular bar food and a variety of drinks (as shown in the picture). We ordered the following: -Let that "man"go - in general it's an iced drink, so I'd avoid. -Spicy pina marg - another iced drink. It was ok. -I'm Ron Burgundy (2x)- this had a nice strong coffee flavor, doesn't come with ice; I would highly recommend it...they made it so good!!! -Maker's mini nachos - There proportion of chips to toppings was off there wasn't enough toppings and too many chips, but there was a lot of cheese. -Calamari was a good portion, and tasty -Chicken tenders - they were delicious and moist There are so many items to choose from on the power hour/happy hour menu. I would definitely recommend lil B and the wings. There was live music, which was just way too loud for such a small space. We would have been okay with all the music. There is plenty of parking available in nearby garages, I believe free after 5pm. There is also timed/paid parallel parking. Would I return? definitely!

However, we never saw Kelly from the time she took our order until we finished eating. She then showed up with an empty wine glass, said the wine order did not get put in, and asked if I still wanted it. I said "no" since we were done with our meal. At that time, I requested the Cheesecake w/cherries for my complimentary dessert, a small box for pizza, and the check. More than 20 minutes later, Kelly brought a box and the check, but no dessert. She then asked if I "had decided" on a dessert. I repeated that I would like Cheesecake with cherries. After nearly 30 minutes there was no sign of our waitress and no dessert. We were not happy at this point, left cash payment on the table, and walked out. We have eaten at Reston 60 Vines multiple times. No complaints about previous visits; food and service were very good. However, due to the long waits, inattention, and mistakes by our server on this visit, we were very disappointed. We felt management should be aware of this so they can correct the problem. In comparison to our most frequented Ashburn outpost, the interior here feels more cozy and old school rather than bright and modern. Despite a very busy dining and waiting room, the host sat us almost immediately during peak hours at a generously sized booth, a nice touch given we had our infant son in tow. The food here tasted consistent with what we have had at other locations of Ted's. While the food here does not necessarily amaze the palate, it is executed competently and the large menu caters to a variety of tastes with some creative, global touches. My wife always selects the Turkish eggs, which comprise a trio of poached eggs swimming in a garlicky yogurt and topped with piquant chili oil. The dish makes for a light, fresh breakfast with plenty of flavor. I opted for a Sichuan hot chicken sandwich. The cripsy, juicy chicken breast coated in a heavily seasoned chili dunk yielded a surprisingly flavorful bite. Despite the chicken quality, I did not love the sweet American style coleslaw that topped the sandwich nor the limp fries that arrived alongside. Service ran smoothly, as our waitress promptly took our orders, remained available throughout service, and even subbed out my wife's latte for no charge when she found the taste too sweet. Prices here are about $15-20 per entree which is standard for the Town Center and reasonable given portion sizes. Overall, Ted's remains a reliable option for a satisfying and consistent lunch or brunch, and we are glad to have a location so nearby.

I had the killer tomato basil soup and tasty grilled cheese. I also got an order to go of the Buffalo Chicken wrap. It was yummy the next day for lunch. We hadn't been to NYAJ's in years. It had somehow fallen off our dining radar. We'll be back more often after our recent terrific dinner.

I meet some old friends at this restaurant fairly often and we are always well taken care of. We often have Caesar as our waiter and he has been there a long time, and always does a great job. He is polite, friendly, professional and attentive. The food is good. I don't know if I would say there is anything fantastic about it, but I have never had a bad meal there. I've had the chicken parm, the Cuban sandwich, burgers, and salads and everything had been tasty and freshly prepared. I love a good Cuban sandwich and NYAJ's is a good one, and they are one of the few restaurants with a Waldorf salad on the menu, so I have ordered that several times. My only critique of that would be, I wish it had the candied pecans that are listed as an ingredient on the menu, but the last 3 times I have had that salad, they have been missing. I also love the French onion soup there, as well as many of the appetizers. You really do not have to worry about getting a bad meal at Not Your Average Joe's, it's very reliable.

It appeared that there was an entirely new crew and that there had been 100% staff turnover. The manager seemed to prefer to stay in the back instead of being out front helping. Figured I'd stop in for a bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich and an OJ for a hearty breakfast hankerin'. The place had been renovated since my last pre-covid visit - much needed - and was nicely done up, clean and neat with plenty of table seating and a nice ambiance. I was grabbing to go - order taker was friendly and pleasant and my sandwich was made quickly. The rub for me though was how skimpy and anemic the bfast sandwich was! I took a pic of my sandwich and I'm sorry I didn't take the picture with something to show scale. First and foremost - Einstein bagels have gotten significantly smaller in all around size. What the HELL happened?? Dudes - you aren't fooling anyone with your version of shrinkflation! Laughable, the size of their bagels! Second - to add insult to injury - the bacon, egg and cheese portions in the bagel sando were skimpy as all get out! THIN SLIVERS OF EACH. Check out my photo. I will say that they do ask you if you want 1 or 2 eggs in your BEC sandwich - yesssss I chose 1 egg but ASSumed that 1 egg would be plenty enough. I mean "1 egg" is never really 1 egg, right?!!! WRONGGGGGGG. My reaction to that silly "1 or 2 eggs?" question is - c'mon Einstein - don't ask - just put a decent portion of eggs in the sandwich - it all comes out in the wash and you make your profit whether it's 1 or 2 eggs if you do it right and train your workers. (Anyway, with your shrinkflation-ed bagels, you should be able to afford to put more BEC in the sandwich and still maintain the illusion that the sando is stuffed to the gills. lol.) #eyeroll My goodness - dare I say - McDonald's makes a better and heartier bfast sando (for better value) than this place. First time back since pre-covid and sadly my last. With even fast casual joints fighting for every dollar in consumers' pockets, Einstein you need to show us decent value for our money - this ain't it. BIG RIP OFF AND NOT WORTH THE PRICE THEY CHARGE.
