Walked in with a large group and the owner and his staff took great care of us! The food was fresh, the service was fast and the place was warm and inviting. We will be back!

Food was so so good. Everything was yummy down to the lemonade. Our server was very attentive and efficient. I live in NC but will definitely come back when I'm in the area again.

Jamaican Jerk Chicken with potatoes and vegetables

I've been going to Amphora, the original location in Vienna and the remaining one in Herndon since I was a kid. I love that I can take anyone here and there will be something they'll love in the inch-thick spiral bound menu. The servers quicky get to know us when we come back. Dennis, in particular, learns your drink orders and favorite entrees--sometimes after just one visit. After you get to know the regular menu, don't forget to try out the specials. Tonight for me was the amazingly flavored, tender Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Loved it.

It has been a minute since I ate at Amphoras, but I was happy to be able to stop in recently before a meeting and enjoy a good hot breakfast. Customer service was great. You are always greeted at the door. The interior has not changed much but it has always been a spacious and clean diner. Not to mention, the fresh baked goods at the front door as you walk in. I ordered a traditional 2 egg breakfast with bacon, home fries, and wheat toast. That hit the spot. The cranberry juice was a bit watered down and more of a pink color than cranberry. I would definitely visit again but order something different to drink next time. Overall, a great dining experience and I look forward to my next visit.

Such a nostalgic diner, with great quality food and excellent service. The banana French toast was phenomenal but my favorite is the Greek omelette that has gyro in it. Definitely one of my fav businesses in the area to support.

Cajun Eggs Benedict

Stopped by here on a Saturday morning with a friend of mine for some breakfast as we've always past by this pace but never went in. Well, this was our chance and from our experience, it was good. The Food: I went with the "Cajun Eggs Benedict" for my meal. Two eggs benedicts with some andouille sausage, and some hash on the side. Eggs were cooked nicely with a runny yolk, muffins were soft. However, there were barely any sausages in my meal. And, the portions for everything was small. It was odd because for about $16, I thought I'd get something a little more fulfilling. I probably won't be getting the benedict again. Maybe something else next time, if I find myself back here. The Service: Service was good! For it being a Saturday morning, the restaurant was decently busy and we didn't have to wait log for a table. Staff were attentive and friendly. The Atmosphere: Very spacious restaurant with plenty of tables to sit at. Also, it looked pretty clean from what I saw around me. Overall, a 4/5. Food was good, better than some diners in the area. Just a little small on the portions for me.

Chicken Fajita Quesadilla

Affordable. Big portions. A WIDE array of options WITH extended hours, is most definitely a win. This place was definitely a life saver as we were searching for grocery stores or restaurants open the evening of Christmas Eve. Needless to say, basically every place we considered was close EXCEPT for here, which I'm glad was the case as I got to experience this diner. I had the Florentine soup, which needed more salt, however, when I added the salt, it was a win. I then had the chicken fajita quesadilla, which had to grow on me. The sauce, at first was a tad strong, however the more I ate it the flavors just hit differently. Overall, we had a really good experience. For another late night meal, they will definitely see my face.

The food was exceptional here. There are so many options, the menu was a book. The waiter was very attentive. It's a great casual diner.

We sent him links to three great Herndon eateries. He responded, "Oh, Jimmy's has the menu with the most to offer." Fast forward, we're at JOTT - I order my fav - the Buffalo Wrap...so good! Hubs orders his fav - the Philly Cheesesteak. Our friend, the world traveler ordered the noodle soup - which he devoured - and, the salmon salad. He clearly enjoyed his meal. A few days later, he's traveling again and reviewed a meal at a place in another town, in another country... "The salmon was just OK. The server was attentive and cool, never rushing us but never disappearing for too long. The Guinness pours werent the best but its not an Irish bar. The buffalo wings, both mild and medium, were perfectly saucy and crispy with a good quality meat used. The potato skins shouldn't be slept on either, they were quite tasty and cheesy. We did get two mains, the chili mac and the chicken parm sub. Both were pretty mid- not bad but not as amazing as the appetizers. The chili mac should have been made on actual spaghetti and I think it would jazz it up. The chicken parm sub was good but too dry. Overall good service, good vibes, amazing apps.

The one blip was when we first entered, the young-ish man at the host desk looked at us with a "What are you doing here?" grimace. I was stunned since the hosts are usually very happy to see patrons come in. Beyond that, though, we had a lovely time. Our server was quite friendly and got hubs customized Cuban order just right. I had the killer tomato basil soup and tasty grilled cheese. I also got an order to go of the Buffalo Chicken wrap. It was yummy the next day for lunch. We hadn't been to NYAJ's in years. It had somehow fallen off our dining radar. We'll be back more often after our recent terrific dinner.

I meet some old friends at this restaurant fairly often and we are always well taken care of. We often have Caesar as our waiter and he has been there a long time, and always does a great job. He is polite, friendly, professional and attentive. The food is good. I don't know if I would say there is anything fantastic about it, but I have never had a bad meal there. I've had the chicken parm, the Cuban sandwich, burgers, and salads and everything had been tasty and freshly prepared. I love a good Cuban sandwich and NYAJ's is a good one, and they are one of the few restaurants with a Waldorf salad on the menu, so I have ordered that several times. My only critique of that would be, I wish it had the candied pecans that are listed as an ingredient on the menu, but the last 3 times I have had that salad, they have been missing. I also love the French onion soup there, as well as many of the appetizers. You really do not have to worry about getting a bad meal at Not Your Average Joe's, it's very reliable.
