Woke up craving an egg and cheese sandwich today. I was in the area and my yelp research led me to Sunrise Cafe. It's a quiet unassuming cafe in what seemed to be an office building. I can see how office folks are here for breakfasts/ lunch everyday. Typically deli - fairly spacious and very clean. I got the egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant and it hit the right spot. The eggs were fresh and very nicely cooked, the croissant seemed like it was very fresh and very very flaky and delicious. I don't like my croissant to be overly crispy and this one was the perfect mix of soft, flaky and crispy. Definitely devoured it way quicker than I should have. They also carry voodoo and Dirty brand potato chips. I got the sea salted Dirty ones and think they needed more salt. Good collection of teas, plenty of coffee. They also seem to have a hot bar for salads and lunch but it wasn't operating when I came for breakfast. A few folks that trickled in after 1030 am when I was there seemed to be local/ well known to the place. I'd definitely recommend them for breakfast read more

This is a very solid place for lunch. Kind of my go-to when I'm working in this part of the Reston area. Easy to find, easy to park, relatively fast, and decently priced. The menu has all sorts of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, burger, burritos, along with plenty of chips and other snacks, with fountain drinks, bottles and canned beverages, and coffee. Also look for the chef specials, which are some tasty Korean options. Went with the Bibimbap, which was quite nice. So yeah, all told, just a very solid, straightforward place to grab a night. Sunrise Cafe is a great little hidden gem for breakfast on weekdays (they are closed on weekends). Sunrise Cafe is located in the ground floor of an office building. You can enter from the building lobby through a door - or there is a direct entrance on the back side of the building. I've visited twice now for breakfast. The first time was fried eggs (over easy), with Corned Beef hash (extra crispy), breakfast potatoes, rye toast; the second time I tried out their breakfast burrito. You have to specify your choice of meat - I requested both bacon and sausage - which they were happy to accommodate. Both breakfasts were tasty. The only thing I will ding them on is the Corned Beef hash - it's the canned variety - so at least it's consistent. But I'd like to see more places offer up scratch-made Corned Beef hash. I enjoyed my "home cooked" like food. I ordered the western omelet which come with breakfast potatoes, and toast. My mans got the breakfast burrito with bacon instead of the chorizo. The food didn't take a long time to make, it took about 15 mins or less. The portions were big and staff are super kind! There's plenty of seats inside and a few benches outside. Overall I'd come back here again and try some of the other food options. They have breakfast and lunch options. read more

1st visit: Ordered an egg sandwich with cheese and there was no cheese to be found. 2nd visit: Ordered a veggie sub and fries, no cheese was found again. Even the government produces better cheese than their crap. 3rd visit: Attempted to order an item that has been posted on their menu board every time I've come; was told they don't have it. So why not change the board? NOW I am sitting outside writing this review in the beaming sun cuz I'm p.o.'d that I walked down here for nothing. While i waited for my orders both times I felt nauseous and sat outside instead. Now I wasn't sure if it was due to womanly problems (I have only visited this spot three times in 2025), or was I picking up something from the restaurant. What a perfect local deli! I stopped in after a doctor's appointment in Rockville and got breakfast and a drink to go. The breakfast burrito was so much better and fresher than anything a fast-food joint could provide. I intended to save half for lunch but ended up eating it for brunch instead; I couldn't wait! I was impressed by all the drink options and sandwiches and sides described on the menu. But the friendly service is the prime motivation to keep me visiting again anytime I'm in the area. read more

It's a hidden Mom and Pop shop in an office building on the ground floor. it doesn't look like much when you walk in. One thing I learned in life and may sound cliche, but NEVER judge a book by its cover. This place is awesome! They sell a very small selection of drinks and have a soda machine. They make a pot of coffee which is self and they have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. I went on two different occasions. The first time was for lunch i had, the had a special of Korean steak and cheese. It was spicy bulgogi with cheese, onions, and I want to eat mayo? Or some sort of sauce it was basic but the flavors together are well put together, fries could have been better but you can't expect toooo much from a mom and pop shop at a office building. I was so satisfied I decided to come back a few days later to try a breakfast burrito which consisted with chorizo egg potato's salsa and cheese. Which was also delicious and for the price? Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was joining a group that walked over for lunch from a nearby office. I was delighted to see a picture of Korean bbq and of bimbimbop, a staple of Korean food (rice bowl with bulgogi, kimchi, sprouts, and other vegetables, topped by an egg). A hot bar with a pay by the pound system, that offers a variety of items. If you're not interested in a hot bar you can always take advantage of the different hot and cold sandwiches they offer. I picked up a decent chicken Philly steak at this place for lunch. Sandwich was just okay, the bread overwhelmed the meat. Chicken was cooked well but lacked any great flavor. The accompanying lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. If you work in the surrounding office area, I say give it a shot because your other options are limited. This is really close to where I work but hard to find, as its in the back of the building, not facing Sunrise Valley Drive. Lots of people walked in to order or pick up food while I was there, so it seems to have a following. I got the Bul-go-gee wrap with fries, which was a daily special. Prices are really good, as is the selection of both breakfast and lunch specialities. They have a big salad bar and a large selection of drinks. Quick service upon arrival and ordering. I'll be back and probably very soon and look forward to trying different sandwiches and platters. Highly recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area or work in the area. This is definitely a find and within walking distance so I don't have to get in the car to go out for lunch. read more

It took a really long time for the staff to notice us an take our order. I had a chicken cheesesteak and fries. The sandwich had a few soggy spots, and there were no onions, peppers or mushrooms, which I consider to be standard on a cheesesteak. Getting 1 star solely based on my experience with them for lunch today. I eat here in the morning about 2-3 times a week and they have normal decent breakfast. which would get a 3 star rating from me. Today, however, I had a slammed day and wasn't able to get any lunch until 3:15pm. I headed down to Sunrise for a HOT sandwich since its freezing out. I was told i could only order cold subs as they "turn the kitchen off an hour before they close" WHY NOT JUST CLOSE AT 3?? This recent experience with them has left me extremely pissed off at the way this place is run. I just wanted a damn grilled chicken. read more

First time here after a doctor appointment in the area with my 97 year old mom. They were very polite and helped me place the order for myself and my mom with some very specific things on 2 breakfast platters. The food was hot, and perfectly prepared. I have only come here for breakfast and they do a good job with what they serve. They have most of your standard fare, pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon. The service is good and the staff is generally friendly and polite. The only reason they don't get a 4 star review is the prices for bottled drinks. $2.19 for a Snapple is crazy. Just had a sandwich called the Wall Street; kind of like a Reuben but pastrami and no sauerkraut. It was delicious-bread toasted perfectly and a good amount of meat and coleslaw.
