Absolutely amazingly delicious deli items. I was running errands and decided to stop by for lunch to go. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner items. I ordered a grilled Pastrami Reuben on rye which came with sauerkraut, melted swiss, pastrami, and Thousand Island dressing. He said I was gonna enjoy it, and I certainly did! The pastrami was the king of the show and it's the best pastrami I've had in years. Man, it was loaded and perfectly made. I also ordered a Potato Latke, perfectly crispy and fried, with a side of sour cream. Yummmmy! Service was welcoming and friendly. They asked had I been there before and we had nice conversation. Cozy diner with warm personality and nostalgic. I plan to come back because Reubens are my favorite deli sandwiches, and they offer about 5 variations. So I'll be back to try different ones and to explore other items on their menu. They also serve breakfast, so I can't wait to try their bagels. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Pulled bbq chicken poutine.

I did a to-go order and the process was great. The website was easy to navigate, when you go into the store there was clear signage, and the food was hot and ready to go when I got there. I ordered the macaroni salad, pulled bbq chicken poutine, and a slice of cheesecake. The cheesecake was excellent, the macaroni salad was good deli style and wasn't dry, and the flavor of the poutine was good and a huge size. My only complaint is there was way too much bbq sauce. I could only eat so much before I was over it. I want to go back and try more food though!

Lox on an onion bagel with added cucumbers. Upgraded to the chive cream cheese

I tried this restaurant as I was craving a good ol salmon and lox bagel, and while I would usually go to a different spot, I was curious about trying a new business. My pilates pal suggested that I try this deli. Upon walking in the place, smells like breakfast heaven a lot of open displays with delicious offerings definitely got my appetite and mouth watering! I saw that they are running a breakfast special for pumpkin pancakes and two slices of maple bacon for $20. I did not allow myself to get distracted, so I quickly went up to the register and needed a little bit of time because the offerings and menu are plentiful. I let the gentleman know this was my first time and to please be patient with me. Of course, this place is known as a New York deli so the fact that I needed a little bit of extra time didn't necessarily help the process in patrons are lining up behind me. I ended up ordering the salmon and lox on an onion bagel, upgrading to a herb cream cheese and asking for cucumbers and capers as well, which are not included in the standard lox bagel. I asked for avocado and the gentleman said "don't push it". When the gentleman at the cash register who I assume is at least the manager if not possibly the owner told me that this bagel would cost me $20. I hesitated a little bit and I asked him. "For one bagel"? He then asked me if I wanted a beverage, which I politely declined. I don't think that was received very well either. I briefly sat down to wait for my bagel and was told to get up and go towards the exit to wait and not occupy space. The vibes were a little different than I expected. I of course got up and moved. If I may say so, the bagel was actually extremely delicious. I asked for a side of hot sauce and got a small portion I had to ask for more. The bagel itself was made quality and from what I understand, imported from New York. All in all my bagel was delicious even when it did not include the capers that I paid for. I suppose as somebody familiar with the northern Virginia area I expected a local hole in the wall deli to have better prices because at this point, I might just go ahead and stick with my fancy bagel shop. I've been frequenting and there I might just not get rushed!

We had really good food and really great service here! The dining room does put you in the mind of a NY deli. One seats one's self and the server quickly comes to take your order our server, Charlie, made great recommendations and was very friendly and accommodating. We were greeted by Benji (behind the counter) who was very friendly. I got the pastrami sandwich and chips. Hot mustard already on the table. Complementary pickles and coleslaw (some of the best I've ever had) served before your meal. My friend got the bagel with locks and said it was good. We came late in the evening (almost closing), so Benji gave us some delicious sweet treats to end our night. If you're ever wanting really good New York deli, please check them out. This was a great way to end a day of shopping-- it's in a shopping center with plenty of parking.

I came here on a Rainy Afternoon looking to try out Chutzpah Deli, and it didn't dissapoint! This jewish deli is a bit interesting as you'd walk in and assume you'd be waited to sit down, but nope! You'd just sit down and just wait to be served. I came on a slow afternoon so maybe it may be different if you were to go on the weekend or peak hours. I got the Matzo Ball Soup & the Reuben Sandwich. The Matzo Ball Soup; it's chicken noodle soup with a giant ball of Matzo made from matzo cracker meal, eggs, oil, and spices. It's savory, comforting and delicious to eat when the ball is soft too. I would get this to go if I am looking for a quick meal but it's hard to not pass up on this. The Reuben Sandwich was really gigantic! Corned Beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss Cheese & Russian Dressing are the only ingredients made for this sandwich. For most people I recommend getting only half of the sandwich as I had to take the other half home. The fries were also fresh as they were hand-cut fries and they had a delicious crunch to them. I would get this again! Check this place out if you like Jewish Delis!

Going to Chutzpah Deli was my first time going to a Jewish deli. They bring out pickles and cole slaw if you order an entree. The pickles were delicious, we had to ask for more. I got the matzo ball soup, which was pretty good. I also got the corned beef Reuben which was so good. The fries with it were okay, I'd probably order a different side next time. The deli is small with just a few tables to sit at.

I love this place!!!! They got homemade pickles to cream cheeses! Service is kind and ambiance is so lax!

I love Chutzpah Deli for authentic and delicious jewish food. The flavors bring me right back to New York City. I'd consider getting the salmon lox bagel, the corned beef omelet, and the rueben of course. Also never forget to get a potato latka with applesauce AND sour cream. A big shout out to our fantastic waitress Erin. She was extremely considerate, she toke our order with precious and care. She was very attentive and friendly. Can't wait to come back again soon!

Oh boy. Went back and service was extremely slow. The waitress kept forgetting to bring drinks, took way too long throughout the entire time, the soda was flat, pretty sure I got scoffed at by another waitress for asking for a straw. On a brighter note, their sweet potato fries were surprisingly delish. Crispy and hot.

Great Reuben! I've walked by this place for years and finally decided to try it. I got the corned beef Reuben with a potato latke and it was great! There are a few reviews here saying, "Meh!" or, "NY has better." No ship, Sherlocks. That's like saying the Thai food here isn't as good as in Thailand. You can't swing a dead rat in Manhattan without hitting a bagel shop or delicatessen. NOVA? We take what we can get and this one is pretty darned good. The Reuben here was great - I can't speak for the rest of the menu, though. I bet you it's better than Firehouse subs, Jason's, or Santini's. The Reuben was juicy, flavorful, and huge. I had a choice of sides and chose the potato latke which also came with a small container of sour cream (I could have also chosen apple sauce), as well as a whole mild dill pickle. $20. A bit expensive? Yeah, a bit. But consider you would pay the same at Five Guys for the same volume of food. Trust me, you'll feel better putting this lovely sandwich down your gullet than a double burger (an admittedly good one) and a pound of peanut oil-laden fries. Crunchy tangy sauerkraut , sweet tangy dressing, mildly sharp Swiss cheese, and juicy savory corned beef - the best lunch to start a food coma off with. The latke was pretty good. You might find it lacking in salt but that's easily remedied. I'll be back to try the pastrami version of this soon.

Stopped in for some grub for lunch. Ordered the Turkey Club on toasted Rye bread - with a bag of Jalapeño potato chips - to go. The sammich was stuffed full of tender turkey. The only thing I was not a fan of was the flavor of the dill pickle that came on the side. Paid with Apple Pay. Service was good! #Chutzpah

There aren't many Jewish delis in the DMV, but this is one of them. With a massive menu, we came for some breakfast classics like Eggs Benedict's and Omelettes. The eggs benedict were perfectly cooked with runny yolks, served over potato latkes that were amazing! The omelette was solid as well - no frills, good ingredients served with home fries. Great diner spot for a morning breakfast! Entrees: Eggs Benedict Chutzpah Style and Mushroom Bacon and Cheese Omelette

I love a good sandwich and one that's too big to eat is definitely my favorite. This thing is huge. The onion rings are amazing too.

We went with the VIP Board Room Lunch which for $17.95 per person included assorted sandwich platters, salad, chips, fruit salad, and a dessert tray. I sent an email request online and was contacted by a manager via phone to coordinate the details. School lunch times are ridiculously early and the staff came in an hour earlier than usual to make sure our order was ready to go by 10:15 am. Is that service or what? Everything was packaged beautifully so it was easy to serve, and the staff was so impressed by the quality of the subs and salads. Platters were plentiful and guests were able to go back for seconds which was amazing. Two small recommendations for next time: 1) Make sure to specify that the dessert tray is properly labeled. There were a few items with surprise nuts in it which could have been an issue if not spotted. 2) The catering menu mentioned that fruit salad would be served with the meal -- we got a few boxes of bananas instead which is a bit misleading.

It was a rather pleasant reminder. The pizza was spot on: beautifully baked with a crisp base and generous toppings, while the chips were golden, fluffy within, and exactly as they ought to be. Simple fare, perhaps, but executed exceedingly well. Ordering at the counter was straightforward and efficient, and the service itself was courteous and welcoming without being overbearing -- always appreciated. I shall most certainly be making a point of visiting far more regularly from now on. It would be a shame not to.

The roll was reminiscent of a Philly sub roll, which - now this may be polarizing - is the standard by which I judge all sub rolls. Philadelphia just has the best subs ;) Anyway - they use good deli meats here. I don't think they make their own fries, but they were nice and crispy with a bit of seasoning on them and went well with our sandwiches. My husband had the cheesesteak and said it was just meh - definitely steak-ums - but we are from the self-proclaimed cheesesteak capital of the world :) Don't pass up the dessert case though - I am not a sweets person, but they had this triple cheese thing that was like a cheese danish, but with a million times more cheese and just a little bit of pastry, we... uhhh... devoured it... It paired really nice with their house chocolate gelato, which was the definition of rich, decadent chocolate. The lady at the register was kind enough to allow us to try a side-by-side of the house and the machine gelato... word of advice... skip the machine, go with the house gelato - the flavor (and the serving size) knocks that name-brand, machine mumbo jumbo out of the park :) Honestly, just a great sandwich joint with a little store selling specialty items, many of which are from Italy (I will be back for some squid ink pasta the next time I am cooking for friends!). I was there to pick up a sandwich for lunch and witnessed very entitled customers treat the staff disrespectfully. Unacceptable. THIS PLACE IS ONE OF THOSE TOP 10%-ers! * Conveniently located (even though I hateeeee that little gummed-up stretch of Main Streer in Fairfax!!) but the shop is on the little side strip out of the fray of the main retailers Ace Hardware and TJ Maxx. Lot parking is abundant for a quick in and out if you're grabbing to go. * SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF and FAST, EFFICIENT SERVICE - I went in around 9AM on a Sat - no long line - walked right up to the counter and ordered - sat at a table and my order was called about 10 minutes later. * It was bfast time and I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sando $8 on a lightly toasted ET bagel - delicious and they didn't skimp on any of the ingredients! The bagel was big, hearty and chewy. A perfect breakfast to go. * PRICES ARE VERY FAIR and I felt I got good value for what I paid. $13 basically for a bfast sando and a bottle of juice (drinks are always a rip-off - $3.50, half the cost of my sando but it is what it is...) * The inside of the restaurant itself is sorta small and cramped - as you walk in, the left side is the ordering side, the right side is the seating area with a good amount of tables and chairs - most importantly, they keep the place neat and clean which is a big deal to me. It's a little dark and drab in ambiance/decor and I could see it getting a bit chaotic if the place fills up and with long lines at the counter. On nice weather days, there are some outside tables. I don't come to this area of Fairfax all that often - just happened to be in the area that morning and literally searched for a bagel place on Yelp and hardly any came up. Fortunately I happened to be close by. When I'm in the area again AND happen to be hankerin' for a bagel sandwich, I'll most definitely come back here again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS INDIE BAGEL SHOP IN DOWNTOWN FAIRFAX!
