Why open at 7am if you don't have everything available? Have a sign that states only drinks available! Very frustrating.
This place is a lovely spot! My friend and I first stumbled upon it while trying to find a cafe to sit and catch up, and I loved it so much I dragged my husband back at a later date. The decor makes you think of what you'd find at an eccentric great aunt's home, but in a positive way. Each area has its own mini aesthetic that contributes to the entire place; in the back are color themed books that give it a more serious look, while upstairs is more whimsical in it's random assortment of chairs and couches. The food is in appealing display cases downstairs. The stand out pastries for me are the tiramisu filled cronuts. Drinks wise, they have the typical cafe fare but excitingly so they also have Colombe on draft which I will always be excited about. I recommend this place to grab a snack and socialize!
So, I have had the absolute pleasure of trying Chateau De Chantilly Cafe many, MANY times but never took the opportunity to truly capture the moment. Every pastry and cake that I have ever tried here has been ABSOLUTELY delicious. The moistness of every cake... they have definitely mastered. The perfect level of sweetness, where you can fool yourself from being guilty... is definitely there. Then the yummy pastries... the perfect crisp, the freshness of the fruit and or filling... Needless to say, I am absolutely a fan! Then, if you were curious about customer service... no need to wonder lol they have perfected that as well. The patience with my indecisiveness and the double checking of the cakes in the back to ensure that I made the wisest decision from what was available for my tastebuds for that day, is always appreciated. If you haven't tried them yet, you most definitely should!
It was a bit busy when we went in but we were able to find a comfy spot to enjoy our pastries and coffee. The place was beautifully decorated and gave a warm library vibe. We would revisit.
I usually take people from out of town to Chateau De Chantilly for a sweet treat, mid-day snack, or small breakfast. This experience was similar to my other ones - tasty food, unique flavors, and good vibes. The jalapeno cheddar bagel was seasoned and baked well. It was a savory/spicy/sweet bread I was craving and it paired nicely with the blueberry croll. The blueberry croll had flaky layers, a tart filling, and a sweet cream cheese topping. Not my favorite croll - definitely prefer the pistachio and nutella one from here more, but was a fun try. My friend got a squid ink flatbread, which had a fresh salad paired with an umami base. Would definitely come back to try more pastries!
Love love love this cafe and adore the upstairs workspace! It's quieter and great for junk journaling and catching up with friends ! The best time to come is after 1 pm. The service was quick and the tiramisu latte was very good! Very coffee !

I ordered the chantilly cake, one of my favorites, and it was a perfect mixture of tartness from the berries, mildly sweet chantilly cream and almond essence. I ordered a very basic vanilla latte but it was delicious. There was lot of seating. Dozens of pastries, cakes, and mousse to pick from. The service was quick despite it being busy for a holiday weekend. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Came here for a mid-morning coffee. No vegan pastries (bummer), but everything looked yummy. Got a cafe latte with an extra shot and oat milk. It was delicious, with a nice creaminess. There was a steady stream of customers, but they had our drinks (four total) out in under 10 minutes. I loved the ambiance--there are 3 distinct "spaces" within the coffee shop. A front part, near the bakery, which feels like a kind of eclectic coffee shop (lots of couches and comfy chairs!). Then there's the library room, in the back of the first floor. This had much dimmer lighting, dark wood bookshelves on all walls, and piano in the middle. It was a cozy, slightly crowded feel. Then there's the upstairs, which is a nice, wide, well lit space with bigger tables. Seems like a great space for larger groups, board games, and so on. I came right after Christmas, and they had a very festive vibe going!! Overall, highly recommend. Unique aesthetic & good coffee--the only thing I wish is that they had some vegan baked goods!
Made the drive while I was in Arlington, and it was worth it. Chantilly cake in chantilly Virginia? I had to. Tasted really similar to the chantilly cake from Whole Foods, if I'm being honest. Also got the dubai chocolate croissant AND YES. Flaky, and that pistachio filling was so creamy and lovely.
I've been to Chateau de Chantilly Cafe for everything from a quick pick-me-up to sitting down for a while, and every time they go above and beyond my expectations. First of all, it's such a cute spot, the attention to detail alone makes it worth visiting. The music is always on point (and not too loud), so it's perfect if you want to study or get some work done. They also have outdoor seating, plus a not-so-secret second floor where you can usually find a cozy spot. I've ordered cakes from here multiple times, and they're incredibly smooth and not overly sweet, and honestly, it's hard to go back to typical American cakes after trying these. Everything just feels thoughtfully made. The service is just as impressive, everyone seems really knowledgeable about the menu and genuinely willing to help you decide on the perfect order (especially if you're indecisive like me). I wish I had taken more photos from all the times I've been, but that probably says enough. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

Super impressed by Chateau!! I ordered the iced Americano this time and LOVED it. Crisp and delicious. Plenty of seating upstairs and the perfect working environment. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Lots of great pastry goods to keep you going too!
The cafe was delightful, the food delicious, the environment was peaceful and comfortable, and the staff was kind and helpful in packing up items to go and some for enjoyment in-cafe! I'm including photos of all the amazing food and the menu - I found that the online photos displaying all the wonderful food options and any online ordering menu lacked the visibility of how much variety they have, and wanted to be sure guests in the future know how much you can easily make this a lunch stop! Drinks and cake were very mediocre. $8+ for a small piece of cake, overtaken by a large dollop of cream. The "real dark chocolate" neither tastes real nor is it actually dark chocolate. Not worth the price. On a positive note, staff was very pleasant. read more
Located in the Metrotech Shopping Center, towards the Centreville Rd entrance, sits Chateau De Chantilly Cafe. The home of the best cronut in Northern Virginia. Flaky, buttery, perfectly filled, and not too sweet. The pastry selection is huge, and everything looks (and tastes) incredible. The cafe also offer cakes that are light, flavorful, and beautifully made. The cafe does get busy at times, but it's 100% worth it a visit. read more

I had come here a few years ago, and I didn't like the pastries. But I came again recently, and the pastries weren't as bad as I remembered, and there was a good selection. A lot of the pastries are self serve. I got the strawberry croll, peach danish, vanilla filled cruffin, and crème brûlée donut. The croll was not very good. It wasn't very flaky, and I didn't love the strawberry filling. The peach danish was fine, but again, not very flaky. The vanilla filled cruffin was pretty tasty, it had a lot of cream and the pastry was flakier. I also liked the crème brûlée donut. It was filled with a good amount of cream, and the sugar crust was crunchy The shop is a cute spot with a decent amount of seating. But the two times I have been here I just picked up and brought the pastries home. Service was solid, no complaints. I think I would come back again to try some other pastries. read more

We came pretty late in the evening so the bakery items weren't available. They had a few that we snatched up. We also had a matcha and a chai latte as well as one of the ice cream in a can. Service was mediocre. Not friendly but not rude. The cafe is nice with a beautiful room full of books. read more

What a fabulous café experience! My mini and I stopped by after 8pm, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how lively it was. It had been a beautiful day that transitioned into an equally beautiful evening, so it made sense that many guests were enjoying the patio area. Inside felt like a croissant and pastry version of a chocolate factory--so many delicious options on display, it was hard to choose. We came primarily for the pastries, which did not disappoint. The boba was decent--not the standout--but still enjoyable alongside everything else. I especially loved the atmosphere and how diverse the crowd was. Teens were hanging out, college students were working on assignments, moms were connecting over wine and tea, and friends were gathered playing games. It created a warm, community-centered vibe. My mini and I enjoyed some quality time together while indulging, which made the visit even more special. The dining area was clean, the restrooms were well maintained, and the service was lovely throughout our visit. This is my favorite place to go and catch up with a friend. There's beautiful mix matched decor and so much seating on the first and second floor and even outside. Everyone is always friendly and helpful at the register. I saw online that they had a banana matcha but it wasn't on their menu in person but they made one for me anyways which was so nice of them! It tasted soo good. All of their pastries are delicious as well. read more
This is such a cute spot for chatting with friends over drinks/snacks or working. The cozy bookshelf alcove area and the skylights on the second floor seating gave almost a homey atelier vibe. I picked up the pastries and ordered the black tea boba. The service was polite and friendly, and my drink came out pretty quickly. The pastries were really tasty, and the tea had a lot of flavor, which I appreciated since a lot ot boba places overwhelm the tea flavor with the milk. The boba was slightly squishier than I'd personally like, but again, the tea was really good. I also really like that they host events like live music and sip-and-paint. This is not just a bakery, it has a ton of seating downstairs and upstairs hidden away so that it still feels like a small bakery when you walk in. They have such a wide variety of fun pastries and cakes. You can pick some of your own pastries or ask the stuff behind the counter to pull something from the case and it's a pretty seamless process. Whenever I'm in the area, I always try and stop by Chateau de Chantilly for their iced pistachio latte (+almond milk and espresso shot) - never disappoints! I've also tried other lattes, but this is by far my favorite. I also have enjoyed their croissant pastries. Definitely don't come here eye hungry! read more

A perfect spot if you've got a sweet tooth and want something to wash it down with. There's a wide variety of drink options, from coffee to fruity refreshers, and a generous selection of pastries--you're bound to find something you'll enjoy. Despite how busy it gets, the customer service is usually pretty solid. The lighting is just right--not too harsh, not too dim. There's plenty of seating, but thanks to the place's popularity, it's often packed. *** It shares a parking lot with a few other businesses, so parking is limited--but there is street parking nearby, or you can park at the At Home shopping center if you don't mind a short walk. I tried the crème brulee macaroons and they were an absolute hit! Probably one of my favorite treats to get from there. read more
I saw some really aesthetic croissants from this place so I had to try when I was in the area. I got a couple different croissants that looked good and a quiche for my savory tooth. The quiche was great - super fluffy middle that was loaded with cheese and ham. The croissants, on the other hand, were just alright. A bit too sweet for my preferences but they were nice a flakey. Food is baked daily. Bakery is exquisite with a huge selection of savory and sweet selections. The service is swift and friendly. The baristas definitely knew their craft. Ambience is very European Farmhouse. My favorite coffee house/bakery in Virginia thus far!!!! read more

After seeing Chateau de Chantilly quite a few times on Instagram, I had to try it. We visited on a Saturday morning and it was decently busy. The cafe itself is beautiful and has a cozy atmosphere. There is also plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating. Parking is a bit sparse, so you might have to look a bit of park across the street. When you walk in, they have cases of pastries that you can choose from. You are able to grab the pastries from the cases yourself. I ended up with 4 pastries. I really enjoyed the bacon and cheese bread pastry that I got, it was tasty. I tried the strawberry croissant roll which was okay, it was crispy but lacking flavor. The cinnamon roll was disappointing, I prefer my cinnamon rolls to be soft over crispy. Also the almond croissant was okay, it didn't have a lot of flavor. I also got the dirty chai latte, which I didn't like. It had so much cinnamon, I had a hard time drinking it. They even put a large cinnamon stick in the drink. Overall, the cafe is super cute, but the drink and pastries were disappointing. read more

OMG THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. My friend took me here as I'm visiting from out of town and she said it's her favorite bakery and I am on that boat with her. We walk in and it is the most whimsical interior. We came on a Saturday and it definitely was busy but the line moved quick and there was plenty of pastry items to choose from. I ended up getting a strawberry matcha with my pastries. These pastries were delicious I got what I thought was a waffle with whipped cream, strawberries, and custard and to my surprise it was a waffle but it was a croissant pressed into a waffle and it was fabulous. I really wanted to like Chateau de Chantilly on the vibes alone but sadly my order just wasn't it. Maybe their other drinks are good but I wouldn't recommend the "black tea boba" which is heavy on the brown sugar syrup even though it's not marketed as a brown sugar drink. The boba was also off, less chewy and more on the blobby side. Which is unfortunate because it really is a cool looking spot with a ton of different pastries and other drinks options if you're a coffee fan. read more

I have been here a few times for coffee. Today was the first time we decided to pick up a few croissants to try to celebrate the new year. We are suppose to be eating healthy but they looked too good to pass up! The service is great here. There were no pistachio croissants out so I asked the cashiers and baristas if there were anymore. A very friendly staff member went to the kitchen and grabbed two for me. Thank you!! I'm so glad we got to try the pistachio croissants because although they are probably a million calories and expensive, they are so delicious! Yummmmmm Stuffed with pistachio cream and powdered with sugar and chopped pistachio, your first bite into this warmed pastry (make sure to warm up before eating) is pure ecstasy! We look forward to coming back here again and enjoying our order next time in the library. If you didn't already know, there is a library in the back of the cafe where you can sit and enjoy your time here. There is also an upstairs section in the cafe! read more
I was so excited when I got to Chateau de Chantilly. It's not every day that I'm in this part of NoVA so I convinced all my friends to stop by on our way out of town. One thing is for sure: the decor is so cute and I bet the work atmosphere on a day over the week would be all you need to enjoy a cute little coffee while you work in a lot too loud cafe. It's the kind of coffee shop you'd imagine in the movies with lots of sweet pastries & an abundance of latte flavors. While this is true, almost all our friends picked the s'more lattes, and for the price, our minds weren't necessarily mind blown. By the time I got home, the matcha crinkles I got were super hard (almost impossible to eat), and the only thing I was really able to eat was the red velvet cake that I did not regret one bit (though - if I did have one piece of advice, it would be to switch to cream cheese frosting). It was still good with lots of space but super pricey. Would come again but probably wouldn't be in a rush just yet. read more

Do they sell cheesecake and if so, thoughts?
Mostly sells cute pastries of all varieties, they are like European Cafes inspired with Korean or Asian twist but you are welcome to browse. They have Boston Kreme not the Donut but a cake or a pastry.
