I ordered the 8 oz. Angus Country Fried Steak Combo, which came with home fries, two eggs, and a biscuit. Everything was fantastic. The country fried steak was huge, and the biscuit was light, fluffy, and perfect for soaking up my over-medium eggs. My wife went with the Kashmir's Sterling Combo, which included golden-brown French toast, two eggs, hash browns, and bacon. The hash browns and bacon were both perfectly crispy. Jennifer was our server, and she was incredibly friendly. We hadn't visited in a while, and she filled us in on all the improvements since a car crashed into the building back in May 2025. The renovations look great--the new flooring brightens up the dining room, and relocating the check-in counter has made the space feel much more open. We arrived around 10 a.m. on a Wednesday, and it was pleasantly quiet. By 11 a.m., the place was filling up quickly, so our timing couldn't have been better. The bathrooms are a bit cramped but were clean and well maintained. There's also a second dining area with additional tables and booths if the main room gets busy. Just note that there are two entrances on opposite sides of the building, but you'll still need to check in at the host stand to be seated. Overall, Virginia Kitchen consistently delivers good food, friendly service, and excellent value. It'll continue to be one of our favorite breakfast spots in Herndon.

You can enter from the building lobby entrance - or they have their own direct entrance at the back corner of the building. I ordered the breakfast croissant sandwich and a large cold brew. The cold brew was really good. However, the breakfast sandwich was very disappointing. I requested extra bacon and extra cheese on it. What I was served was a sandwich with the slices of cheese cut extra thick, bacon of the extreme paper thin variety, and the Croissant itself was stale. If there was extra bacon on it - I sure could not tell - and because of the way the cheese was sliced and the way that the sandwich was made (it appears he is using a Panini press), the cheese was totally unmelted. Very unsatisfying. The owner came over to ask me how it was - when I shared my thoughts on the sandwich - as he rang me out - he told me he was not charging me for bacon. Don't golf but I…read morehad seen it on Yelp, and after pointing it out to a Filipino acquaintance who knows me as an adventurous eater, I had some suggestions: "Try the Longsilog (Longganisa - Filipino sausage with fried rice and egg) and ube waffle." The sausage is cut up with a spicy brown sauce and served with a rice preparation. The waffle is dark colored, round and served tith a dark purple syrup; had to take half of it home. Worth stopping by.
