I like this place for lunch during my workday. My favorite meal is the Bulgogi rice bowl.

One of my favorite dishes is the cauliflower pita with hummus, pickled onions, and apricots. It's THE softest, tastiest cauliflower/gluten-free bread I've had in a long time. SO GOOD!

Leaving takes you through a slightly confusing one way loop. Nevertheless, twas the evening before the blizzard of 2026, and the restaurant was mostly empty. I started with the Chunky Monkey Banana milkshake which was.. well, disappointing. Almost entirely liquidity. Not enough solids. Way too much milk. Disappointed I also had a blood orange sunset, which was good, refreshing, sort of like a reverse Tequila Sunset. The meatloaf itself was good but the pate was hit or miss. There wasn't much meat loaf, mostly mashed potatoes, string onions, and corn. I felt for the price the meatloaf serving size was just not quite enough. It seemed like it was deliberately hidden in there. I was expecting something more. The Kickin Crab and Corn Chowder, sans description, was also..unexpected. It was an option with the meatloaf and contained a lot of pepper. Black pepper. Not the ... Chesapeake Favorite "Kickin" expectation.. We had a mimosa, good, a little weak. Overall, it's an ok place to grab a meal, the menu has many options, they have milkshakes and martinis of sorts, not a full bar, unfortunately, you can't get milkshakes with alcohol, which I think is a tremendous hole in their menu, but I found everything to just be a little rough around the edges. Leaving.. What sealed the deal was that after all that, instead of staying to have drinks, etc. we.. decided to go to a different restaurant for something more.

It was all delicious. Service has always been prompt and friendly. I had the SPAGHETTI SQUASH CASSEROLE caramelized onions, fresh mozzarella, DiNapoli tomato sauce. The bartender was very sweet and understanding when we sent back 3 out of 4 of our dishes. Damn True Food has gone down hill in recent years. The cauliflower to start came out cold, with some strange orange sauce they claimed to be "tahini" but it tasted more like plastic. Sent it back and asked for a chia pudding instead. You wanna know what that was like? 4 day old refrigerated lumpy water that tasted like a combination of everything that was also in the fridge. Then the southwest tofu scramble left me floored. Cold again, but the plate was hot. Micro much? For a place that claims to prioritize good food, ingredients and be intentional about it all, it left me feeling a little sick. Never going back.

John R is an outstanding bartender who knows his craft, is very nice and really just enjoyable to talk to and be around. He takes the time to ask how you're doing, and he'll remember your name after your first visit. The bar has a wonderful selection of drinks, and they're all different and interesting. Most are not just standard classic drinks, but rather ones that feature a spin on such drinks. For example, they don't just serve an old fashioned, because everyone's had one, but they have a coconut old fashioned that is unique and I'd definitely recommend that one. Their food a little pricier than other options around, but it is very good. You can tell the their food is made from scratch, and the quality of ingredients is very apparent, and for that, I do pay their prices. Their coffee and pastries are amazing, sometimes I just go for a little morning coffee and donut break. Try their Jefferson donuts, simply amazing. If you're in the area, this is a great place to stop by, no matter time of day. Grab coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner or happy hour, you won't be disappointed.

The dishes we tried were very good, and we recommend: - Causa Sampler, featuring crocante, tartare, and pollo -- all fresh and delicious. - Ceviche Sampler, with traditional, cremoso, and callejero options. - Tostones Sampler, featuring pulled pork, crab salad, and shrimp on crispy, chewy smashed and fried plantains. - Tallarines a la Huancaína: linguine with cream, Parmesan, and Huancaína sauce, topped with lomo saltado -- a unique Peruvian pasta dish that feels more like noodles than traditional pasta. - Arroz con Mariscos: Peruvian-style seafood rice with squid, shrimp, mussels, and salsa criolla, reminiscent of a Peruvian paella. - Lychee Passion & Chicha Colada: tasty mocktails made with lychee, passion fruit puree, chicha morada, pineapple juice, coconut milk, and lime.

Fried Fish, Beef Stake, Crispy Cod Fish were great too. Our server was very friendly with a big smile on his face. He recommended also introduced everything to us. I have to mention that, their bathroom has one elevator for people who have issues with climbing stairs. So thoughtful and caring! Oh!
