    Medley!

I recently had the chance to check out FiLLi in Chantilly, and I'm excited to support this new business in the area! As with any startup, there's always a bit of working through a grand opening, but I really appreciated the effort they've put into fine-tuning their workflow and delivering a great experience. The staff went around speaking to all the customers! Everything was flavorful! Definitely try the Milk Cakes, Samosa Chaat, chai, etc. The room is always packed and is another late night option in the area. A great family- friendly Halal option! It's definitely worth supporting a local business! I know everyone was excited for the opening, so it was a great way to socialize with folks! Everyone was extremely kind! I'll be back for sure!

Chaat papdi (left), Chicken Dynamite Fill Bunz (middle) and Butter Chicken Rice Bowl (right)

Meh! I was really excited to try this desi fusion street food cafe but was mostly disappointed. We got butter chicken rice bowl, dynamite chicken sandwich (a take on zinger), chaat papdi and i got the berry mojito (i had originally gotten the mango but they mistakenly gave me the berry). The butter chicken was the least liked of the lot because it was too saucy and kinda confusing as to the flavors. The dynamite chicken was somewhat in the middle and was neither too good and neither bad. It was a-ok. The chaat papdi was our favorite. Given it wasnt the best chaat papdi but was pretty decent. The berry mojito was just ok, nothing too great. If we go nxt time we'll try smthng different to see if there is anything that is moving taste wise by uptil now, we left unimpressed.

I honestly don't know how this can even be called Karak chai. This was an absolute disgrace to what Karak is supposed to be. First off, the texture was completely wrong. Instead of the rich, smooth, well-balanced tea that Karak is known for, this tasted like watered-down milk with random foam floating on top. Karak should have a deep tea flavor with proper strength and aroma, this had none of that. It felt like someone just poured milk over weak tea and hoped for the best. Anyone who actually knows what real Karak chai tastes like would immediately realize this is nowhere close. Karak is meant to be brewed strong, with the tea properly simmered with milk and spices so the flavors develop. This tasted like it skipped every step. Rather I saw the worker put powder and milk in a blender.. what even. If you're advertising this as Karak chai, it's misleading. This isn't Karak chai..

    Chicken burger, smash burger

Tried several items on the menu and everything was excellent! Smash burger, chicken zinger, chicken tikka flatbread, ramen cup, and ofc the karak Chai with saffron. Common flavor in all the food was desi spices, some dishes were spicy others were just rich and flavor. Chai was sweet and saffron flavor was palpable. Time it took to be served was reasonable and space worked for a large group.

I was sadly not impressed. I arrived right when they opened and got an iced chai. I would not get it again, since it wasn't my cup of tea, but it was pretty good. I tried ordering a butter chicken rice bowl, but they said the kitchen wasn't ready and was only serving breakfast items. I asked a different employee when they were serving lunch, and they said only breakfast and flatbreads. I asked when the other items will be available, and they just said later in the day...seems like they are still working out their kinks, but they should work on their organization, customer service, and communication. Because of this, I don't want to come back and be disappointed again as I'm not sure if or when they will offer the full menu. The interior was pretty, and I'm sure they will get better with time, but this was a disappointing first impression.

Nice new cafe with decent food. The food was obviously not super healthy. It isa good place to go for a bite to eat and to meet up with friends or family. The chai and other drinks are good! It was crowded and family friendly.

Everything is good at Filli! Highly recommend the Paneer Tikka Flat Bread. The vibe here is good. Love the design of everything, from the restaurant interior to the menu. The team here is also so kind and friendly.

FiLLi Cafe in Chantilly is an international casual restaurant chain offering a unique global-fusion menu, including zafran chai and milk cakes as must-try items. It has a family-friendly, halal atmosphere with friendly service. We visited to enjoy some desserts the cafe is known for and were pleased with their milk cakes, similar to tres leches but sweeter and with added ingredients. Their drinks, including milkshakes and caramel macchiato, were also very tasty. However, we noticed the restaurant could use some cleaning; chairs had drink marks and food crumbs, and service was extremely slow despite it not being crowded during our visit.

Service was nice, ambiance is great! Very lively and colorful setup. Food was delicious, I felt it was well seasoned and not too strong. We ordered the butter chicken foodle (regular spice) and the punjabi somosa chaat.

I met up with friends and their kids there, and it honestly felt like the perfect place for both adults and children to relax and spend time together. Sourdough Brioche Cinnamon Roll was really good as well. One thing to keep in mind is that they have a limited stock of pastries, so if you want to try their baked goods, its definitely best to visit early before they sell out. I also love the story behind the shop. The owners are educators from Texas who pursued their dream of opening a coffee shop. As an educator myself, also from TX, I really appreciated that they celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week for educators. My friends who homeschool their kids unfortunately weren't able to get the teacher discount because they didn't have school IDs, but hopefully that's something they can consider expanding next year.

The seating is a bit limited as it's a small place but I always order to go. But let me tell you this is some of THE BEST Food I've had in a looong time. It hits all the marks: fresh ingredients; perfect spicing, flavors and mixes; healthy options; tastes homemade because it is; and has a variety of food to choose from. I usually get the Caribbean Jerk Chicken bowl which is amazing because its individual components are just as tasty by themselves as they are complemented by each other in the bowl. It has grilled dark meat chicken which is packed with a unique jerk flavoring special to this place; I literally don't like chicken most of the time and especially have a hard time with grilled chicken, but at uptown cafe I would eat that chicken for every meal by itself that's how much flavor it has! Then it is complemented by house made pico de gallo (I always get extra) always fresh, seasoned white rice, corn, shredded cheese, grilled onions (I don't get these as I'm not a huge onion fan), lettuce, and homemade chipotle sauce that is particular to Uptown cafe (I haven't tried another like it) and so good it's addicting! To top it off they always have a soup of the day which is made from scratch. My favorite so far has been the vegetable dumpling soup which included carrots, scallions, onions and a tasty broth. They also have had tomato bisque, chicken noodle, chicken pho, and spicy chicken tortilla. They offer a range of other food items like salmon poke and beef bulgogi bowls, wraps, and breakfast burritos which I hope to try soon. They also have a huge variety of unique drinks and bakery items that change day to day. The portions are huge and definitely filling. I usually can't even finish my bowl by myself, so the value for the quality and quantity of food is excellent. The service is amazing as it's run by the sweetest owners who are always very kind and accommodating and truly care about you and your order. They always make my day with their smiles. TLDR: A small cafe with plenty of delicious food options and owners who make your day and truly care. Definitely try their Caribbean jerk chicken bowl and their homemade soups! I have been so obsessed with this place since I first went and go there at least once a week now. Their food is so good I literally crave it all the time!! Go, you won't regret it!

Perfect companion for the butter croissant I ordered. It also came with a delicious waffle cookie on the side, which was a nice little treat with the coffee. The only thing I wish is that the coffee were served in a mug when dining in, but they mentioned that they plan to offer that eventually. Other than that the service is great!
