I've been coming here for a while now, and I've got to say. This place never misses with their coffee! The Drinks: My go to drink is the "Smugglers Run". Flavors are chocolate, caramel and coconut. I've tried the other latte specials as well, but this is by far my favorite. The coffee itself tastes amazing. I can tell it was brewed fresh with the right temps. Flavors aren't strong enough to overtake one another. Just a right balance all around. The Service: Service is great here. The staff are so friendly and attentive. They are pretty fast about getting your order out as well. The Atmosphere: Nice and small coffee shop. Not a lot of seating inside, but the vibes here are very nice. Feels very much like a "local iykyk" kind of spot. Overall, a 5/5. One definitely recommend trying Weird Brothers. All the drink options here are delicious! read more

Stopped by this Weird Brothers while on my ladies' trip to the DMV area. Admittedly, I am not a coffee drinker but my friends, who are, were delighted by the various different drinks. I tried the Potions Master latte which was pretty yummy even if it was coffee! We also got some food--breakfast burrito, croissant sandwiches--which were surprisingly delicious. Been here multiple times and it's never let us down. They have so many iced and nitro coffee drinks that you can pick any of them and they won't be bad. App makes ordering easier. Horchata Nitro and the Dark Star are my go-tos. You can also control the sweetness of drinks which is a plus. Staff is friendly and they get drinks out super fast. I was in Virginia for a weekend and stopped by every day . Their drinks and coffee are strong and flavorful. I tried the dark star, mandolorian, and potions master and it was delicious. My friend tried the wookies kiss and Louisiana and she liked them. We tried the drip dark roast "weird and fierce" which was smooth. I didn't realized there were multiple locations. I love love love the different and fun selection of coffee drinks here! Normally, I get my drinks from the roastery location, but decided to try this one finally and am happy to say the quality is on point here too! My husband and I like trying the different chai lattes mostly and I plan to try one of each unique flavor on the menu eventually too. The price is also so much better for what you get than a certain chain with a siren for a logo. There is a nice amount of seating and it felt pretty clean overall; plus I'm guessing it's one of the newer locations. I think I may come here to work for a few hours one of these days too. We are lucky to have a Weird Brothers Coffee so close in our area. If you are from out of town and need a coffee, definitely check this place out! read more

My absolute favorite coffee shop of all time All the coffee drinks are made according to the traditional milk to espresso ratios, which is not as easy to find as you'd think! At most coffee shops, regardless of whether you order a cappuccino, flat white, or macchiato... you end up with a latte - but not here! Lol They also have a super fun drink menu inspired by "nerd" culture (Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc.), and they always have an equally fun rotating seasonal menu (e.g., I'm writing this review while waiting for my "nine tailed fox" latte with orange and caramel). Not every place can be 4 and 5 stars. Frankly, comparable to Starbucks (which Weird Brothers replaced at this Worldgate location). Comparing yourself to Starbucks IS sayin' something. I WILL say Weird Brothers does have some creative specialty flavored latte drink offerings that change seasonally so they do keep their drink menu fresh. They also roast their own beans at their nearby Herndon roasterie (blocks down from Target off of Sunset Hills Rd) - their coffee is bold, strong and flavorful, (like Sbux) not weak and wimpy (like Panera or Dunkin' - ick!). This place is a good option if you happen to be at Worldgate (or close by) and have a hankerin' for a latte or coffee. read more

I was in the area and wanted to get a drink while I was in the same shopping center. There was a clear sign indicating where the line starts so I stood there since the workers were occupied making drinks. Other customers started coming in, but they stood in front of the register so one of the worker stopped what she was doing to take their order. What is the point of having a sign that directs people when the employees don't follow it either? I tried the Iced Chai Latte. It tasted watered down probably because it was filled with ice so it could be better. Otherwise, the interior does appear cozy enough to relax in for a little bit. read more

Since I am always curious to try new things I got one of the lattes with marshmallow cream, it was good but very sweet. Overall, 3.5/5 but will bump it up to a 4/5 because it's more unique coffee roaster in the DMV and the beans seem promising (sadly, they didn't have 8oz bags for the single origin I wanted and I couldn't commit to a whole pound, lol). I stopped by this Friday afternoon since I was in the area and I've been meaning to try Weird Brothers for at least a year. Herndon is pretty far, unfortunately. I got a cappuccino with oat milk which was 6.30 after tax, I think. Overall, the drink was alright. The nuttiness and creaminess of the oat milk made it bearable, but the espresso was a bit burnt. We ordered a Chocolate Croissant and two iced teas. The croissant was very bland and hard, tasted very store bought. Tea was very bland, tastes like water with a hint of ginger. Weird Bros Coffee is a solid coffee spot, and worthwhile addition to Herndon's Worldgate. I actually prefer this kind of coffee joint slightly to a chain store such as Peet's or even Starbucks. Here's why -- * They have unique, geeky DnD-style themes and their own spin on coffees and lattes. For example, "Witch's Brew" -- what a cool name for a drink. * Also, one can see nerdy, Sci-Fi themed paraphernalia floating around -- like Star Wars and Mandalorian posters. As a SW enthusiast and lover myself, I say, game on! * There are croissants, scones, and some healthier(ish) breakfast options such as bacon + egg sandwich. * Hole punch cards as incentives toward repeat visits, and on the X'th visit, guess what -- free drink! I've tried a couple of their signature lattes. So far, I believe my favorites are the Time Lord, Potions Master, and Wizards Delight. All of them are decent enough, albeit a few are too sugary for me. They also have Nitro options. Haven't had too much experience with that, but I tried it once and it seems ok. Somewhat healthier I believe. Try it out and see. Their Protein Smoothies in particular are pretty solid. I've tried Apple Pie one and Breakfast of Champions. Both were way too sugary for me and I disliked that, so I'm probably going to only get them once in a while, especially on a day I'm going to work out right after. My suggestion on PS's -- Beast Mode smoothie, sugar-free. Learn about their sugar-free options, this is a real game-changer. I really don't understand why this isn't the default. These days I try to avoid or limit sugar and even artificial sweeteners (like Sucralose, aspartame, or even Stevia leaf or w/e) either bc they spike the blood sugar, or else might be proven to be harmful to human health in a future study somewhere down the road. So it might be a small thing really, but in a world where you really have no choice over sugar, salt, much less ingredients and crap that people put into your processed foods and drinks when ordering out, I like to seize what little control I have. So, kindly excuse me, I'll get myself a goddamn protein smoothie loaded up with fruits, oats, and (hopefully) natural sugars and healthy fats, and attempt to skip added sugar and unnecessary crap by grasping at available options, like "no-sugar". Trust me, get yourself some modicum of control over the crap that people put into your lattes and drinks. Look out for healthier options such as this, and inquire about what *exactly* that entails; for sometimes, the cake is indeed a lie, and it might (unfortunately) be too good to be true. Such as Diet Coke. Ask about artificial sweeteners as well. I for one, would like to know about what crap goes into the concoction I'm paying good money to imbibe. Anyway, forgive my rather long-winded ramble. I get rather opinionated on such things. Long story short, decent coffee shop, they have unique and interesting coffee, latte, nitro, protein smoothies, and other food/drink options. Check it out, and the inner geek in you might very well be pleasantly surprised (and handsomely rewarded). The one minus, most of their food/beverages are rather sugary, and wish there was "no milk " or reduced-milk options. Overall, this is still a decent coffee shop -- with sister locations in NoVa area, currently in Leesburg and another spot in Herndon -- and would recommend to others looking to broaden their horizons and check out new and interesting coffee joints. I wholeheartedly believe this spot is a welcome addition to the shops at Worldgate Centre in Herndon! Do recommend. read more

This is another location that I love the service and the offerings. This location used to be a Starbucks (last time I visited was almost 5 years ago), they kept some of the setup but what they offer is so much more: energy drinks, coffee concoctions, pastries.... all their drinks are interestingly named but delectably prepared for your enjoyment - coconut, white chocolate and hazelnut, lavender white chocolate , delicious combination of flavors. A honest opinion: + Drinks are unique and no other cafe/coffee shop compares to the diverse flavors and tastes + Food is unfortunately below average. I've ordered and egg and cheese sandwich, bagel and others here before, but the taste is bland and effort put into it is below par. Neighboring Panera and other cafes have the upper hand for food. + The service is good, overall, but there are a few employees that stick out as unfriendly which dampen the vibe at times. + The atmosphere - although more "weird" than the previous location - is better branded but a bit cramped. In that sense, I preferred the more spacious and easy-going setting at the previous location. With that said, the Weird Brothers in Leesburg is better; spacious, dynamic, and unique. Areas for improvement for this location is the food; it needs to compliment the drinks and be more creative, zesty, tasty, and intentionally made. read more

I'm in VA for a wedding and stopped into this location when I saw it. i had to wait 10 mins for decaf coffee which wasn't a big deal. I found it strange however as there was no napkins at the station where you can add your sugar. Also I had to ask for cream which was behind the counter. Very weird! They proceeded to pour a little in a tiny cup for me so I had to ask for more. It almost seemed like they had to ration out the creamer. Thankfully the coffee tasted good however I doubt I'll be back. read more

Saw this place online. They had a drink called Dark Star. This appealed to me as Peet's used to have an Aztec Mocha. The ingredients for the drink were similar. The barista asked me to try it. This place is good. I like that they're not a chain, they roast their own beans, and they offer a ton of options. Also, they have products from other local businesses like Midnight Treats cookies. The sausage egg ands cheese croissant was good. Wife got avocado toast, strawberry muffin, and the weird brothers latte. All were quite good. My pour over is the reason they lost a star - they said they didn't have any light roast beans available, but the baristas didn't know the difference anyway. The signs only tell you where the coffee is from, but not the roast level. To be a top tier coffee roaster in my book, they've gotta know about and clearly communicate their actual coffee offerings. As it is, I'm not sure I actually got what I would have ideally wanted given the options. On the plus side, you can get a large pour over, which would be great if they had a light roast... The Herndon location is small and cramped. Wood chairs not comfortable. Don't get me wrong, overall this place is a welcomed improvement to the chain stores that are far too prevalent. read more
