Very interesting concept! I went to The Human Bean with my sister to pick up some coffees on a rainy day. It is entirely a drive-through and the staff makes your drinks quite quickly! The location is clean and easy to manuver. I went with a Cold Brew with Irish Creme. In terms of the taste, this coffee was just okay. Very standard with pumps of flavoring. I've only been to the drive thru, but I will swing by when I'm in the area. I love that they top your coffee cup with a chocolate covered espresso bean (mmmmmm!). My favorite part about the human being is that their coffee drinks are not overly sweet. I don't need to ask for a half sweet, it just naturally comes less sweet and it's the perfect balance. My Favorite go to is the oat milk hazelnut latte. It's creamy a hint of nutty, sweetness, and just an absolute delight. Going down to 1 MEASLY STAR this time.... Sure, go ahead, call me a glutton for punishment. But yes, I TRIED this place again for the 3rd time. Was driving right by again and thought "let me just seeeee if things have improved." NOPE. I can't believe these 4 and 5 star glowing reviews. Srsly? Has no one else but me ordered a hot latte? I just don't see (taste) 4 and 5 star quality - not even close. I ordered a small hot Cherry Vanilla Latte. THIS TIME KNOWING THEIR COFFEE DRINKS ARE WEAK FROM THE PREV 2 TIMES, I ORDERED AN EXTRA ESPRESSO SHOT!!! (I've had hot cherry vanilla lattes before at other coffee shops that have cherry syrup and, trust me, they're to die for - so good.) NO ISSUE WITH PRICE - my drink was around $5 - reasonable. I paid, got my drink, popped the choc covered espresso bean treat in my mouth (nice touch) and off I drove. When I took my first sip of the drink, IT WAS BARELY LUKEWARM. BARELY. What was hard to believe is how did the barista making the drink NOT know it was barely warm??? I turned back around and told the order taker about my drink and, in all fairness, she was SUPER APOLOGETIC. COULD NOT HAVE BEEN NICER. I drove up to the window, handed back my drink to her and told her to check the temp of it herself. She was aghast when she dipped her finger into it. She apologized profusely and said, truth be told, their machine at times doesn't work right. ??? (Ahem, business owner...) Then she proceeded to make me a new drink. She kindly upgraded me to a medium, said she would double steam the milk to ensure it was hot and handed the drink re-do to me to taste test. Mind you it had an extra espresso shot in it. This time it was hot. But it was soooooooo weak (similar to my prev 2 visits/complaints) and had noooooo flavor to it whatsoever. NONE. It was like drinking a cup of hot water mixed with a splash of steamed milk! I let the server know (she was the one who made the drink). She was mortified and felt so bad. (Trust me, I felt so bad for her.) So together we brainstormed how to tweak the ingredients to make the drink better tasting. We agreed to up the flavoring/sweetness factor so this 3rd try, she put double the cherry and double the vanilla syrup in the drink (with the extra espresso shot). She asked me to taste test the 3rd drink. I just did not have the heart to tell her the truth - that it was still weak and not flavorful (how can a latte with an extra espresso shot not have a coffee taste to it??) so I gave her a thumbs-up with a smile. She was relieved and told me next time to order my drink "extra sweet" and that would resolve the issue. I thanked her and drove off. I never took another sip of the drink and dumped the whole thing out when I got to my office. :( Again I will say - SERVICE? No complaints. EXCELLENT. I saw all 3 girls (and a guy in the background) through the window and bar none they were all sweet, chipper and cheery. And pleasers - wanting to get my drink right. Kudos to them. But this is the absolute last time I will be back. I know, famous last words but this 3rd visit will truly be my last. ikik good riddance to you ma'am. To the business owner - something is "broken" with your hot lattes (maybe the rest of your drink offerings are better, hence the higher ratings??). I'm truly not a complainer and try to give constructive feedback whenever I can. I can't help it if you don't want to take customer feedback seriously. You need to do a serious training and taste test session with your ENTIRE staff (I bet they are all inexperienced "baristas" that don't even know what latte drinks ARE SUPPOSED TO taste like - they probably don't even like coffee lol). Have them (and YOU) "taste their/your own (latte) cooking" so to speak. Bring in a focus group to do some objective market research. In going back to see if I'm crazy, I noticed that most of the 1-3 star reviews all say the same thing as me - weak, watered down, tasteless coffee drinks. The 4-5 star reviews are about the smoothies and food (I beg to differ on the food). The real test is: how many of your LATTE customers are repeats? That would be an interesting and telling stat.... I do think your little coffee hut concept is a good one and that there's a market for it but not if your hot lattes for chrissake are subpar and undrinkable. I mean this IS a coffee shop right?? (You'd think with 4 workers in your tiny hut (seems like overkill for the volume of business - #doge lol), one of them could make a decent flavored hot latte - ??) A basic flavored latte! I ordered an iced matcha latte with salted caramel and wow! It was great. The salted caramel was a bit sweet for me but I didn't specify an amount because it was my first time going. My friend also got an iced matcha, with hazelnut, and it was great as well! The flavors blended very well with the matcha. The lady at the window was also very sweet and had nice energy. Great concept, excellent service, decent coffee, but poor "quality" food. Let me start with the pros: Almost everyone that works here is friendly and helpful, and the drive-thru concept with the coffee bean on top of every drink are both unique and a nice touch. Unfortunately, none of their foods (I believe) are fresh, rather all frozen or prepackaged/made elsewhere. I bought a bagel and I was under the impression that it would be fresh and or made there at least; however, I understand it was imported from Seattle and kept frozen; it was mildly toasted and I was given a Philadelphia cream cheese cup with a plastic knife. It felt like a motel continental breakfast. The concept and service here are excellent, but not having any fresh foods but prepackaged and frozen goods cheapens the business. If you come here, only come for the drinks; it's better you pick up your food across the street from 7-Eleven or another small business in the area where the food is fresher. read more

I have seen this little structure whenever driving to to route 28. I meam, a tiny little building roughly the size of 3 bathroom stalls??? Ok maybe a little bigger. How could I not want to try it. But once I finally decided to stop and try it, I couldn't find it and I drove back and forth then finally mapped it. The staff were extremly friendly. I needed them to suggest something for me. Deviating from my familar Starbucks drinks...makes me indecisive. I asked for the strongest coffee/espresso flavor hot drink without paying for additional shots. They suggested I get the Mexi-Mocha. And at the last minute, I asked for the cookie. The drink itself was just OKAY. Nothing special and not worth the ~$8+ I paid. The cookie was prepackaged, which was a little disappointing. I love the size, the concept, name of the place, frienfly staff. Would I return? No, probably not. It's pretty pricey and not my kind of strong flavor. read more

The Human Bean always has a long line both for the drive thru and the outdoor counter, so I've been curious to try it out. There is no seating, indoor or outdoor. It's literally a drive-thru kiosk with a counter on the other side. Very small. The menu includes various artisanal drinks, sweet frappes, and breakfast items. I've gone on two separate occasions, once for coffee and once to try their breakfast. I ordered a lavender latte that was a sub-par latte with no hint of lavender. Disappointing. It also seemed to lack caffeine, which was extra disappointing considering it was like $6-8 dollars. Ouch. Then I went again (my daughter has activities nearby so I'm here every week) for breakfast and wondered how they have space to make breakfast...? The answer? They don't. It's frozen and microwaved. The breakfast sandwich was small and looked and tasted like a Jim bean product. Save your $6 and go to McDonald's for ironically a better quality breakfast sandwich! Would not return. read more

Super friendly little drive through Coffee stand. Was around the area for a 2 day basketball tournament. First day got a vanilla cold foam cold brew. I consider myself to be a coffee aficionado and I am so over Starbucks and their subpar, chemically tasting beverages, so on my yelp quest to find a new coffee shop to visit, I ran across The Human Bean. This Coffee shop is drive-through only. I ordered an Irish cream breve that was hot. When I received my beverage it had an espresso bean on it, I thought that was such a cute touch. Now my drink was super hot, so I probably couldn't drink it for like 20 minutes. My drink really had a nice flavor, it wasn't really sweet, it was very creamy I could tell it was made with quality ingredients. The service was great, no complaints, the staff I interacted with were kind, it didn't take a long time to receive my beverage. I look forward to returning and trying other things on the menu. I am deducting one star because the drink was SUPER hot and I didn't have a sleeve on my cup :( read more

I've been waiting for this gem to open! The day has finally arrived and it was worth the wait. Today, we ordered brewed coffee, Irish cream breve (made with whole milk instead), mexi mocha, and a vanilla cold foam cold brew. There was a few cars in the drive-thru, and being newbies we decided to do walk up ordering to prevent clogging up the line. There were two managers present from Oregon to help with opening day, and they were full of spirit and joy. One of the ladies helped us navigate the menu and suggest drinks based on our norms. It's a small footprint so you're really able to see most of the inside from just being at the window. Newly constructed so things are nice and shiny. The staff appeared to be engaged and eager to serve good drinks. They all wore their branded attire and smiled as they filled order after order. So how did the drinks taste? I enjoyed every last one of them. I would probably skip the mexi mocha next time just because it was the least of my favorites. I would replace that one with another cold brew option or perhaps a holiday drink like eggnog next time. The flavor was really hard on cinnamon (which I am a fan of by the way). The cinnamon just over-powered the rest of the flavors...even the chocolate. I would say if you love a mexi mocha drink or a drink of chocolate and cinnamon, give it a whirl and let me know what you think. The cold brew was number 1 followed by the Irish cream. The brewed coffee had a good flavor and wasn't too weak. I almost forgot about the little 'beans' you get. There is one 'bean' per drink. They are these little espresso beans covered in marble chocolate. It's a cute touch for the brand!! Kudos to the team and see you again soon. read more

If you're in time crunch, best thing to do possibly the latter, online order beforehand, park and get to the window. Although it's usually a long line in the drive thru but moving pretty fast. This coffee shop is just a small standalone booth in a parking lot across from a gas station. It's great for a drive-thru but we for some reason decided it was a good idea to park and order at the window on a hot summer day (which I don't recommend). The drinks didn't take long for them to make but when their drive-thru gets busy, it can take a while. My husband and I tried their pumpkin snowy and a different flavored snowy that I don't remember but they both honestly tasted subpar. Both were not memorable in flavor and I was disappointed that the pumpkin snowy didn't taste at all like pumpkin, just some watered down coffee with milk. I personally didn't find the drinks worth their prices. They do have a wide array of interesting drinks though, so I may try this place again but maybe with a customized online order. read more

I'd give them 0 stars if I could! If you're in the market for a watery, bland cup of oatmilk with absolutely no trace of coffee, come here! The coffee was so diluted, it was practically non-existent. I've never seen coffee this light in color (see photo) did they forget the espresso? Not sure, but I certainly will never return to find out. I ordered the salted caramel latte and what I received was flavored water. You'd think the salted caramel syrup could somewhat save the drink but nope! That was disgusting too. I arrived at 5:23pm on a Saturday (37 minutes before closing) and when I tried ordering a sandwich, I was told "sorry our oven is turned off" so I guess the "All Day Breakfast" items are not really all day. But here's the kicker: as we got our coffee, the employee turned to her coworker and said out loud (even my kids in the backseat with their windows up heard her) "great now I have more dishes to do". Came across this place when looking to grab some coffee nearby. Pretty low key spot and it's also drive thru only so if you're lazy like me, you won't have to get out of the car. I've been about 4 times in the last week and a half and it was great every time. The line can vary depending on the time/day though. Customer service was on point as well, just straight friendly the whole time despite being slammed at certain points. We've tried the Mexi Mocha twice, iced Chais, the Bourbon Caramel Cold Foam on cold brew, hot chocolate, and their bacon, egg, and cheese on an English Muffin. The bourbon caramel cold foam was probably my favorite thing but really I'd get any of these drinks again. They have such a big menu and a lot of speciality drinks that I still need to try. Have to point out how friendly the staff here is. The customer service was on point every time. If you do go, they have a tip jar at the pickup window but you can also ask to add a tip on your card as well. Also, make sure to get the app to get some points for each visit! read more
