I have found the coffee shop I didn't know I was looking for. My wife told me I needed to check out Weird Brothers Coffee because, as she put it, "You're a huge Star Wars nerd. You're going to love this place." She knows me well. Walking into Weird Brothers feels a little like stumbling into the cantina after taking a wrong turn through Mos Eisley. The place is loaded with Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and Nightmare Before Christmas memorabilia. As a longtime Star Wars fan and hardcore comic collector, I immediately went into "Okay, let's see what they have" mode. And that's before even getting to the coffee. Weird Brothers roasts their own beans and has a bunch of sci-fi-themed blends. The names alone had me reaching for my wallet. I'm the kind of person who will buy a comic because it says "First Appearance" on the bag, so naturally I'm susceptible to coffee with a geeky name. They even have a special blend for the CrossFit gym next door, which I thought was a pretty cool touch. Nothing says community partnership quite like supplying caffeine to people voluntarily throwing heavy objects around at 6 a.m. Supporting your neighboring businesses? +5 reputation points. Now, about the food... Come here for the coffee. When we visited, they were completely out of the breakfast sandwiches. The remaining options were quiches, so we grabbed the ham & cheese and spinach. Unfortunately, they weren't freshly made and were simply reheated. They were perfectly edible, but definitely more "side quest" than "main storyline." The Americano, however, was good. That's what brought me back to the primary mission: coffee and geeky stuff. I definitely want to return and pick up a few bags of their beans. At this point, I'm basically looking at the coffee menu the same way I look at a wall of long boxes at a comic shop: "I don't need all of these... but I should probably check every single one just in case there's a key." Four stars for the coffee, atmosphere, in-house roasting, and ridiculous amount of geek cred. The food kept this from going to five stars, but I'll absolutely be back. I've always love Weird Brothers coffee! Not only they have awesome, tasty coffee, but the atmosphere is nice, plus the employees are friendly! No wonder this location is always packed with customers! It has always been a local favorite. This location has two floors, plenty of seatings for hanging out, or just getting your work done. Parking is super easy. I tried their espresso flight menu for the first time because there are tons of unique creations that I wanted to try and I couldn't just choose just one! With the espresso flight you can choose three espresso drinks you want, including their specialties. You can choose hot/iced, but all has to be made with the same type of diary, which is not a problem for me! I ordered an Oat Latte, Dark Star (espresso, oat milk, dark chocolate & Azteca), and included one matcha drink, My Little Green Friend (matcha, oat milk, white chocolate & vanilla). They all tasted so good. Creamy, sweet, but not too sweet. And they came in three little mugs, with aesthetic latte art. I got so full (lol), but it was the best decision of the day! Sure - if I'm in the vicinity. I'd stop back in for one of their many creatively named (!!) and uniquely flavored lattes. In the Sunset Park industrial business park where Dunkin and Wooboi Hot Chicken are - near YMCA and Target on Sunset Hills. Parking is convenient and easy except iwhen the dance studio next door is in session but you can usually always find a spot in the lot even if it's not right outside the shop. Service is friendly and efficient. Servers are super nice. Prices are fair and competitive. Check out my menu sign board pics. I've only ordered hot lattes which are tasty and on the bold side coffee-wise which is a pet peeve of mine with coffee shops that serve wimpy-weak coffee drinks. The shop is a fun nod to some sci fi but unfortunately, the coffee was not good. I ordered my usual latte and the barista was friendly enough, but the drink created was poorly made. The milk was way too hot and the drink was very bitter. Not even adding sugar (which I never do) didn't help. Basically not drinkable - had to throw it out. They only have paper cups so that's not great either. Not recommended. read more

Such a fun coffee shop! Came here with friends, we are big Star Wars fans and thought the coffee shop would be a fun place to check out. It did not disappoint. I had an iced latte, my friends had a hot latte and one of the blended chillers. My latte was very good. The vibe is fun and nerdy, they have great drink names and nostalgic decor. They have a good amount of seating between upstairs and the main area. We were talking about games while sitting upstairs and actually made several friends who we now play board games with. We've been a few more times since our initial review and decided that the coffee isn't what we originally thought it was! The flavoring for the coffee don't taste like what they say and we just prefer other coffees now. The interior is still so cute and the service is still stellar though! The cool thing is that they have so many options to choose from as far as coffee goes. I really love the decor, what stood out to me was the legos and Geoffrey, the Toys R Us mascot. Nerd Paradise. My kid was going crazy for all the HP references. We came for the coffee and gluten free pastries. Cinnamon roll, isn't as expected, more of a warmed cinnamon cake with glaze. It is good, just not what you'd think. Donut looks like a Katz gf donut. Taste ok. But really, truly appreciate at least giving us GF!!! It was busy! Middle afternoon, long line, but went fast. Discovered Wierd Brothers Coffee at the 2025 Taste of NoVA! Absolutely loved the Pumpkin seasonal Iced Coffee. It was so delicious I had two! There are only three locations and they are all at least a 30 minute drive from me. The coffee was so delicious that I am going to make it a point to drive out at least once this month to have the Pumpkin coffee again and check out their store. I also love that this is Veteran owned and family operated, I read that from their website. The service at Taste of NoVA was awesome, I'm so glad they were there or I would not have learned about them otherwise as I'm hardly in the Herndon area. The vibe the owner set at Taste of NoVA was fun and welcoming, I definitely wish Weird Brothers Coffee continued success, I plan to tell all my friends about the Pumpkin coffee and for my friends who live nearby to check them out in person! read more

This is a quirky cafe, filled with tons of fun props and decorations that give it a unique vibe. I tried the small iced Time Lord Latte, which is a blend of chocolate and caramel. At $6.31 after tax for the smallest size, it was definitely on the pricey side, but the drink was still pretty good! It was sweeter than I expected was the only downside. I am moving to this area soon, and I think this is going to be my new go to coffee shop. I love the nerdy, chill interior. It doesn't take itself too seriously. The drink menu is superrr extensive. I can't wait to try all the options. They also sell a lot of artisanal coffees, and you can get them ground as well. Also, they have a drip on tap menu, which is cool. The food menu is more limited, which is fine with me. I got an egg, cheese, turkey sausage sandwich (heated up), which was very good. I also saw they sell MidnighTreats cookies (another local shop), which are literally my FAVE (and wayyy better than Crumbl, etc. in my opinion). Their chai was by far my favorite and of the best chai I've ever had!!! Vanilla chai, dirty chai, almond milk, no matter how you modify it it's amazing! A little "weird" cafe with unique decorations! It has 2 levels with a bit of indoor seating and some outdoor seating as well. There is also free wifi. The servers are friendly. The menu is huge but I went with one of the seasonal drinks, hot cherry lavender mocha! Served at the perfect temp of hot but not too hot and I can definitely taste the cherry in it. It was very unique and slightly sweet but definitely not too sweet. I enjoyed it a lot! 4/5 Ham and cheese croissant was about average. I'm on the hunt for the best local coffee shop (I live in Herndon) and finally gave Weird Brothers a try! I was excited their menu is so expansive and had the option to order a flight of any 3 espresso drinks (including seasonal). I always order a cappuccino out of habit, but I've always wondered how different a cortado etc. taste. I ordered a flight with cappuccino, cortado, and flat white (cost~$13). The cappuccino was my favorite. The espresso had very good flavor and I think I've found my new go-to coffee shop! There was a decent amount of seating (including upstairs) and the coffee shop had a cool vibe. I'm looking forward to bringing family here when they visit and trying another espresso flight! Well, Weird Brothers could not be more appropriately named. A business like this, you have no idea what you're walking into except that they should be selling coffee. But once you see the aesthetic and the menu of drinks, "Weird" takes on its intended meaning and it all makes sense. This is primarily a mega-fan coffee shop for Harry Potter & Star Wars followers. Though, it's definitely just a place to geek out and feel comfortable doing it, which as a Harry Potter fan myself, I can definitely respect and appreciate. All of the specialty drinks are themed after these two iconic franchises, and boy do they have a lot of flavors to choose from. I went with the "My Little Green Friend" which had matcha, white chocolate and vanilla. As far as matcha goes, it was decent. I wasn't in love but I drank it pleasantly. Honestly, of the 4 drinks my party got we really only liked one enough that we'd get it again. Also, the azteca flavoring is spicy but I don't find it to be a good spice- it's not a nice cayenne type like you'd maybe expect but almost more like a burnt black pepper. Whatever it is, it's not real nice. My gingerbread muffin was pretty decent. The pumpkin scone was not- it was very dry and not much to speak on. Honestly I see how this is a super sweet local shop that can be a nice place to sit in (especially with the loft area), but based on the quality of the drinks and food we had, I think I'd try some other places before coming back here. I'm in town visiting and we stopped by this spot for coffee and some pastries! With an average rating of 4.4 stars, I figured this had to be a solid spot. We were not disappointed! The menu is overwhelming (in a good way) because of how many options they have. I loved seeing all the unique flavor combinations and types of drinks they serve! There's even a few Harry Potter themed drinks which is fun! I went with a medium matcha latte and a strawberry cream cheese danish. It came out to about $11 for both which wasn't bad. My latte was made perfectly and the danish was delicious, even served warm! My friend got a regular drip coffee and said even that tasted like great coffee. There is plenty of parking outside and several tables for indoor seating. This coffee shop is unique and I love the vibes of this shop that I keep coming back for more! On my first visit ordered the Mandalorian latte iced and it tastes watered down. I was not impressed and just took the drink as is. My friend ordered a Vanilla Latte and seemed to enjoy this drink. I also ordered a ham and cheese croissant and it was a decent size for the price. I cut this in half and had to eat it for 2 different meals. I was traveling so this was the only true local coffee shop in the Herndon area close to my hotel. I went back the next day on my second visit and tried the Dirty Chai Latte iced with whole milk. I usually always order Dirty Chai's but nothing ever compares to my favorite shop in Norfolk called Cure Coffeehouse until now. This coffee shop has one of the best Dirty Chai Lattes you can order and I love that they do not use syrups for the chai lattes. It's good not great. It was afternoon so did not want to order a medium or dark as I typically would. The morning sunshine was suggested when I asked for a smooth light roast. So I got the small pour over of that with almond milk and raw sugar. And three pop tarts which they warmed for us. The service was fine, no concerns. The ambiance was in line with the name. I contemplated ordering the "potionmaster" and settled with the red eye for myself and a cappuccino for my mom. 5/5 service Right after I had paid the cashier the order was basically ready.
