Decided to order ahead for lunch at a new cafe I haven't tried and the reviews are right, Gavi's pretty darn good. I ordered their London fog matcha (quite literally 2 of my favorite beverages combined) along with their bulgolgi sandwich. The beverage was definitely an all time favorite of mine. Never had something like this and the matcha was so creamy, it was a nice touch to the tea. The bulgolgi sandwich is a perfect size. A bit messy but the packaging to go is also really cute. I honestly was just stopping by cuz I wanted to grab a tea or a drink on my way back to work, but I sort of ended up grabbing a couple pastries because they looked so delish! The bakery had a couple group of customer when I walked in with a handful of customers in line as well. They weren't terribly busy, but they were sorta calming down. They have a solid menu for breakfast items, pastries, coffees and non-coffee drinks! I ordered a mango lemonade drink with strawberry cream pastry, mango cream croissant and a chocolate cream croissant. They initially gave me a strawberry lemonade, but the barista was kind enough to remake me the correct drink. It is such a cute little cafe perfect for a lunch or coffee date with girlfriends or a little family outing thing. They have tables that are good for small groups or a couple friends! They have a menu that puts most local cafes to shame and really lean into the full bakery with options and Korean hybrid fusions that just work. Gavi replaced the Amor a while ago, even though the sign above still says Amor haha. It's got the same bones as most of the other Korean bakeries in the area. The menus are pretty similar with some specialty drinks, but the sandwiches are the same as ones from Semicolon and the baked goods have the same vibes as others. That's not to say it's bad though! I would say that's how you know everything is solid and will hit that craving. I ordered a matcha London fog, which was delicious. They keep the tea bag in the drink, so the earl grey flavor stays strong. The matcha and tea flavors complement each other well. What a beautiful bakery! It's located near the goodwill store and fun land near the 28 exit. I am so glad such a beautiful store with amazing bread, pastries and Korean breakfast sandwiches is open in this area. ***the only issue... and if I can humbly suggest to the owners... the beans being used for the drip coffee is awful. It's primary petrol and not smooth or sweet. I think just changing the beans could make the entire experience absolutely amazing. Coffee roasters like Haan coffee would probably be equivalent in cost and far better. The Korean toast is absolutely amazing and both the BELT and bulgogi (sweet) is amazing. I've tried Gavi in Tillys before they opened their own cafe. The inside was quaint, nicely decorated and clean. They have a small self serve bakery section and everything looked super fresh and delicious. They also have a refrigerated cake section by the register. Their menu consists of a variety of sandwiches, same as the Tilly location and all of them I want to try! I had the bulgogi sandwich last time which was amazing so this time, I ordered the Peruvian chicken sandwich. It was just as amazing with the different flavors wrapped into this one sandwich. One can never go wrong with any of the hot sandwiches offered by Gavi Bakery and Cafe. I didn't care for their Biscoff latte due to the soggy crumbs I kept tasting. The sandwich totally made up for it. I just wish the arugula and the tomatoes weren't so dry tasting. I love salt bread so I was excited to try the squid ink salt bread. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectation as the flavor was lacking and the bread was rather dry. I also got the matcha einspanner latte which I haven't seen since I was in downtown LA. it was very creamy, but it wasn't the amount of creaminess that I had hoped since the last time I got one. It probably tasted the same as the Matcha latte themselves except just slightly less creamy. I wasn't really impressed by the food/drink. Ordered the salted caramel cream latte and it was delicious - not too sweet with the right amount of saltiness for balance, and beautiful latte color/execution. They brew La Colombe beans so you can expect nothing short of amazing coffee. The price of my latte was $8 for a small that consisted of only 2 shots of espresso - it wasn't anything fancy with toppings, which is steep imo. The prices were even higher for their "specialty" drinks. The pastries are beautiful, but have yet to try. The ambiance is cozy, casual with plenty of seating available. The service was a bit slow but generally friendly. Note: Be careful if you place an online order in the link listed on this Yelp page (Centreville), it automatically routes you to the Chantilly location with no option to change/select a different location. TBH I didn't even realize there were 2 locations. I had to show the manager because she initially was super dismissive, even though it wasn't busy - she really did not want to talk. In the end she helped rectify the issue, but only when she realized it was an error on their team's end. Her reaction really threw me off. I've been twice so far. The coffee was great the first time, but not so much the second time. I got a brown sugar cream latte both times. The first time the coffee had flavor and the cold foam was good. The second time, they must have forgot to put the flavor in the coffee and their cold foam was nearly empty so I got hardly any. However, the most concerning part is the fact that they keep their whole stock of various cold foams sitting on the counter. Storing dairy on the counter is extremely dangerous. Looks like they got a health code violation for improper cold holding too... another review mentioned a sour milk experience so if you're going to go here, maybe go in the morning. read more

This place was awesome. I got the Vienna iced coffee and I got a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. The coffee was amazing. The bagel was alright. The place was clean and had a nice atmosphere. One thing that stood out was that way the owner interacted with his two employees when I was in. Clean and homey feeling! Had the strawberry croissant and a bacon sandwich. Croissant was light and crispy and covered with strawberry crumble, cut down the middle and filled with a sort of strawberry whipped cream and topped with 3 strawberries. Soooo good! Bacon sando was in between two thick cut pieces of bread (sourdough maybe), with scrambled egg, more bacon than I would've expected, and a sort of hollandaise sauce that greatly complemented the flavors. And although the bacon wasn't crispy like I thought it was going to be, it was perfect! They have an 85 degree style serve yourself section at the entrance - filled with so many delicious looking pastries. But the quality and selection are definitely a step above 85.
