    Mushroom tart (3.8/5)

TL;DR: the return of this location has been great! Pastries and coffee were both good This place was TLJ a very long time ago, changed to something else, and now it's back to being TLJ. The renovations/re-decorating they did is fantastic. Very clean and pretty space. Coffee comes out quickly. Only con is that they do not offer any Wi-Fi, but likely to keep people from camping out. They have a huge selection of pastries, breads, cakes, and macarons. Some of them are hit or miss, but I think eventually you will find the items that fit your personal preference. Our faves so far: ~Iced Americano ~Tiramisu Latte ~Jalapeño Cheddar croissant ~Croquettes ~Milk bread ~Macarons: the floral ones are my favorite, but not for everyone

This is my favorite place ever. I go here very often and every time I go, I try a new pastry and have loved every one that I've tried. My favorite drink is their honey lavender matcha latte and their pumpkin spice latte is also good. The service is always friendly and quick. This cafe is pretty big with ample amount of seating for big groups and small groups.

They improved the interior a lot! It looks much more modern and like a great place to work. I tend to stop by later in the day when many breads are already sold out so maybe if i was able to catch some of the early day items my review would change. Salt & Butter Bread - I toasted it slightly in the air fryer when I got home to warm it up. Unfortunately, this didn't taste like the salt bread I had in Korea -- maybe the "salt and butter" twist made it heavier? I didn't enjoy it. It lacked fluffiness, the butter pooled at the bottom, and overall the bread felt thick and overly rich. 1/5 Shaken Tea Latte - Tastes similar to their Assam black milk tea but slightly lighter and milkier. There's a mild bitterness and aftertaste from the tea, which isn't unpleasant, but the sweetness felt unbalanced. Not bad, just not something I'd get again. 2.5/5

The customer service was good but the pastries look OLD. I didn't see anything that looked appealing besides the macaroons and when I told them I'm allergic to nuts, the cashier asked "is cross contamination ok?" I immediately said no! What kind of stupid question was that! Needless to say, when I come back to visit this won't be a place I visit. I have a great camera and that's the only reason why my pictures look good because in person the food looks old and dry!

It has such a great selection of pastries and the latte was delicious. Everything looks very clean and their service was fast. The place is a good size with a lot of seating for big groups. Will definitely come by again when I'm in the area.

Strawberry stuffed donut, croissant, tiramisu iced latte.

I've had the best tiramisu iced latte and hot latter too. They are both so pleasant. I always buy my cakes from here, they are absolutely delicious! The croissants never miss and last time I was there I tried a stuffed donut that was filled with the most delicious custard. I was amazed at the soft but robust flavor bit too sweet or to thick, the donut itself tasted freshly baked as well! Highly recommend this establishment. The baristas are very attentive and friendly. They don't have wifi; so just come by read a book, enjoy some offline time, chitchat with friends, or just people watch while you sip your coffee and enjoy your pastry!

Parking: there is a huge parking lot right in front of the cafe. You don't need to worry about parking at all! Seating: there a good number of tables and seats inside the cafe. There is a lot of space inside. Food: I think their bread and drinks are okay. They have the basic Korean bread and drinks. Bathroom: they have 2 individual bathrooms. Price: average price for Korean bread and drinks. I think the drink prices are fair and the bread prices are slightly higher. Service: my cashier was helpful and patient. It was a good experience.

Now called Mark Bean Bakery! Still amazing, and the desserts/baked goods/drinks look the same, but I couldn't find my favorite milk buns today :( The iced chai tea latte was the best I've ever had! It had a delicious and strong chai flavor. So good.

    Strawberry cake with whipped icing
    Starvel D.

The strawberry cake was excellent. It was so light, so of course it made sense to have a whipped icing that was equally light. I had two slices easy. I would definitely order it again. Since there was a group of us we decided to just buy a whole cake for $40 versus paying $7/slice. I also tasted some of my friend's strawberry rosewater lemonade and it was delicious.

Glad there's a TLJ right next to the spa. After spending a whole day in the sauna, you get really hungry and need some bread and coffee.

Having instant coffee at home is a lot more satisfying than their lukewarm, bland coffee that lacks aroma and flavor. Not worth the price.

The service was…read moregreat--I asked if they could split two full-size Thai tea boba drinks in half for my little ones, and they happily did it with no hesitation. Even with four cups, they still filled mine generously, which I really appreciated. The disappointment came once we started drinking. It honestly tasted like milk with unsweetened boba. I don't mind if the boba isn't sweet as long as the drink has enough flavor, but in this case, the milk flavor was overpowering, and the tea was barely noticeable. We also ordered a bean pastry, which was surprisingly delicious! It was sweet, and if you didn't know it was made with beans, you probably wouldn't even notice. Overall, I'd be open to going back. I'm not sure if the overly milky flavor was a fluke from splitting the drinks or if that's just their usual recipe. The café itself is cute with cozy vibes. It's right off a main road (Route 29). Parking is available on the side and in the back, and there's a decent amount of seating. Just note they close at 9 PM, so if you're looking for a late-night café spot, this may not be the best option.

In fact, we are cake tasting for a wedding and this bakery is a top contender out of 6 different Asian bakeries we've been to. The interior is quaint and was decently sized. There were some paintings from a local artist on sale hanging in the walls! It's a really calm place on the inside, the only downside is that it is located right off the road, like RIGHT off the road and I almost missed the lot going in.

Renowned for its use of organic ingredients, the bakery provides breads and pastries that are healthier compared to those from other bakeries. During our breakfast visit, the environment was clean and welcoming, with baked goods orderly displayed on the shelves. Unfortunately, the ham and cheese sandwich, usually prepared fresh and ready by opening hour, was not available--disappointing since it takes 30 minutes to an hour to prepare. Ordering is done at the counter, and the process was quick and easy. The staff taking orders were friendly and helpful, and our food was brought out very fast despite the lunch crowd. My husband and I both had the ham and cheese sandwiches. They were good, although nothing especially memorable. The desserts, on the other hand, were delicious. We also picked up a couple of muffins along with an iced tea and coffee. One thing that really stood out was the huge selection of desserts, danishes, cookies, teas, coffees, and other drinks. There was plenty of indoor seating plus a few outdoor tables, so it never felt cramped. The only disappointment was that there were no free refills on the iced tea, which is what kept this from being a five-star visit for me. On the plus side, we signed up for the loyalty program and were pleasantly surprised to earn a free pastry from just this visit. Since we don't live in the area and probably won't be back anytime soon, that was a nice unexpected bonus. Overall, it's a solid spot with friendly service, great desserts, and plenty of seating.
