I love love love this bakery! I am a perfectionist and picky but everything I've gotten from this bakery has always been on par with my hoped expectation. 5/5 Delicious. 5/5 Textures. 4/5 Fillings, most of which I love but there are *some* that are consistent in lacking moisture or mouthfeel. 5/5 Toppings. 5/5 Sweetness to savory to saltiness levels. Do not hesitate, don't look at the price :D read more

Le Pain Bakery - Taro Bun, Cream Log, Mammoth Bread, Green Pea Bun, Anko Bun - Bakeries Near Me - Chantilly, Virginia

This bakery is located inside the Lotte Market and just on the left as you enter. Having looking around Northern Virginia for some time, I found that the best "egg salad" sandwiches are here. The bread is light and fluffy; the egg salad has a lot of taste with added ingredients; and the price, $5.49, is reasonable for a simple meal. read more

I never leave this bakery empty handed. I love stopping by this bakery when I'm in this area. It is located inside Lotte near the produce section, next to the entrance. Le pain basically carries the same baked goods as the neighboring bakeries, but they are individually packed (which is a super plus for me) and almost half the price. I've tried so many of their goodies, and have been returning for specific items. I love the basil onion cheese bread, it tastes like sauce-less pizza. I've repeatedly tried other items, as well as newer ones, such as grand palmier, taro bun, cream cheese pastry, etc. The coconut bun was SO GOOD. I always eyed this one item (of course, I can't remember the name...) which only came in a massive circle size ($10.99) or half size ($5.99). I ultimately caved and bought it....SO GOOD! it has bean paste, cream...and it freezes well! I will definitely pick up another one next time and just store in the freezer. There were some items I didn't enjoy such as the hot dog (too heavy on the condiments) and the taro bun (way too sweet). But this didn't stop me from trying newer items. The customer service..well, not much to say. They aren't overly friendly, but just enough. I'm sure they definitely recognize me since I usually walk in there with an insane grin and excitement. It is first come first serve. if they have enough of the item, they refill, otherwise that's it. I haven't really looked around to see if the place is clean because I'm so focused on finding the right pastry to satisfy my craving that day. Depending on the time, they are still packaging freshly made baked goods. If I'm there for that moment, I always ask them to package a specific one for me. read more

Get all my cakes from this spot and it's super convenient to go shopping for groceries at Lotte since it's located inside the store. My go to cake for myself and my family's birthdays is the mango mousse cake, and we recently tried the yogurt cream cake and were delighted with it. The sweetness level is on the lower side for cakes which is why I prefer this spot in particular. read more

Worth it? Yes Repeat? Yes Located inside the Lotte in Chantilly Metro Tech Drive. It's a convenient location to stop by and grab some fresh bread at a value price. It's a Korean bakery shop so don't expect them to cater to your culture's bread and there may be language barriers depending on the workers. (There is still signs in English that explains the bread, and what ingredients go into it so ++ for that.) Picked up some fresh milk bread and it's soooooo good. $5.99 and $7.99 for two different types ( flat top and non-flat) +Croquettes $2.50 is a great deal. Le Pain Bakery - We ordered custom cake here for my daughter's 16th birthday party and they did an amazing job. The velvet cake itself was great too. - Bakeries Near Me - Chantilly, Virginia

Terrific bake shop! Their buns are always fresh, fluffy and of a good variety. I think in the beginning I felt a little alienated, but after multiple visits, they began to recognize me and warmed up to me. Every time I visit my sister and parents in PA I bring each 10 to 12 buns of various variety. My sister loves the strawberry and mom loves the red bean, so they get their fix. Naturally, when my parents had their 69th anniversary, I ordered a cake there. My parents thought it was both beautiful, delicious and everyone raved about it! It was modestly sweet, so the flavor of the green tea was distinct and the butter milk paired very well with the umami of green tea. You do need to confirm your order with them on the cake, make sure they repeat your order back to you... Also, from multiple occasions, stay sharp on the monetary transactions. I don't believe errors are intentional, but the best way to head it off is to sound off things. I think their artwork is the best for Korean bakeries in the area. read more

Le Pain Bakery - Green Tea Cake - Bakeries Near Me - Chantilly, Virginia

Located inside Lotte Plaza. This bakery is super convenient, since it's so close to home. They have a decent variety of baked goods. Employees are quick and friendly. Sometimes they will throw in a free bakery item in your bag when you check out, which is very nice of them. Recently I picked up a cake for my Aunt's birthday. I love that they have a bunch of ready made cakes available in their display case. They offer different sized cakes, which is perfect if you just want a slice for yourself or a larger cake for the family. Like most Korean bakeries, the cakes are not overly sweet and the cream they use is very light. They don't use icing, its more like a whipped cream consistency. The cake itself is also very light, like a sponge cake. The fruits on top are fresh and juicy. It was all delicious and my Aunt loved it. read more

Amazing cakes , delicious coffee , great service and cozy vibes !! I love getting my birthday cake from this place.

The desserts and buns here are terrific. I love the new macarons, they are simply delicious. They have mochi too, but I think they got rid of it? I have no idea why. A bit pricey, for example: 3 macarons are $5 way too much if you ask me. The bread is fresh and airy, if you get a bad one then it's your chance of bad luck then! All the bread I bought is fresh and light. They are a huge fan of buttercream, couldn't find one thing that was vanilla. So, vanilla lovers, sorry to burst your bubble but no vanilla at this shop. The cakes I've gotten for my birthday are a bit too sweet considering it IS buttercream. The cupcakes too, I'm not sure if they do cupcakes anymore though. The cupcakes were topped with LAYERS of buttercream, my taste buds and teeth couldn't take that much sweetness! Overall, a good place but I wish they would lower the sweetness and bring mochi back. read more

For a bakery inside a Lotte, it had a good amount of selection on a Saturday afternoon. The favorite thing I ate here was a taro bun. The filling was a thick paste (sorta like the sweet bean buns). Also tried this two pack of cake slice roll that had nuts in it. This was more sweet and dense than the typical cake roll. Tried the mocha bun that had some almonds on top and raisins in the bun. That was alright. After eating so many sweets, I thought the mocha cream needed more sugar. There were a few things to sample on but not a lot like at Shilla's in Centreville. *Edit* Came back and also tried: Mango steam cake - sorta oblong round shape in a muffin type liner with a couple slices of mango on top. This was so very delicious. Would love it even more if there were mango pieces inside. This reminded me of a denser bao bread. *Came back to have this again and there were more mango pieces on top. I must have gotten one that was picked over the first time. Cake roll slice - had ample amount of creme filling, soft and moist. I chose the vanilla (or what looked to be vanilla). Would choose the mango steam cake over this though. Red bean bun - good but not the best I've had. Filling was good but bread could be better. Thin pecan or almond crisp cookie ($6): this wasn't worth it at all. Wish they sold it by the cookie rather than pack because I had just wanted to try one. They looked like lace cookies a bit but they are not very sweet at all. And they had preservative packs in the container, which I thought was weird coming from a fresh bakery. The almond ones were going a bit stale. The pecan ones were better. A few days afterwards, they did not maintain their crispiness. Was thinking about dipping them in chocolate to try to make them taste better. Black sesame tapioca bun: I thought perhaps there might be a black sesame filling but the middle was just a more chewy texture from the tapioca. This is like a mochi bread hybrid. The sesame flavor was not as potent as I wanted and it wasn't very sweet at all. read more

So the vanilla butter slice was really dry and tasted almost stale. The blueberry was a lot better and the moisture of the bread was perfect. Other than that, I gave it 3/5 because of the service. The lady was just rude and even though we were the only customers there, she didn't give us proper attention. She also refused to give more than 1 spoon per cake slice which I thought was ridiculous but sorta amusing. Cakes are decent, service sucks! read more

I prefer this Korean pastry place vs Shilla, and in some cases I have to say better than Shilla. Giving 3 stars not for their pastry but for the staff, its mostly the younger Korean female staff, rude. No smile, not even a hello. The older Korean staffs are much cordial and friendly. read more

My first statement should be that THIS SHOP IS LOCATED IN A LOTTE GROCERY STORE. I drove around the parking lot twice scratching my head as I looked for it, thinking it would be a stand alone establishment. The small Korean bakery had many small pastries as well as a good selection of cakes. All of the cakes were very aesthetically appealing. I bought a tiramisu cake for my mom for her birthday and while it may not have tasted like a fully authentic tiramisu (to be expected) it was still solid, flavorful and was devoured in one sitting. Bottom line: The pastries here probably won't blow your taste buds away, but they are still good enough to make them smile. read more

Stopped by here after eating at Big Mama. This place is located inside the Lotte. Cute, small place. My rating is more a 3.5. I liked the place but they're lacking in the variety that you'd find in other similar spots. I got the mung bean bun and a slice of one of the rolls. The mung bean bun was good and tasted fresh, the roll was also soft and tasted just as good as other places I've tried. Nothing stood out to me (as far as the baked goods go) at this place. If I'm eating at Lotte again and need a quick sweet treat afterwards, I'd probably stop by again but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

Kid birthday cake looks nothing like the picture. I have been buying cakes and other pasties from Le Pain since they first opened. From my experience, their cakes and pastries tasted good. So when it's time to order a birthday cake for my daughter's birthday, i decided to order from them. I picked Frozen theme sheet cake, it turned out nothing like the picture shown. I've order theme cake from Wegman's, Giant's and other places before, so I know it's depending on the cake decorator's ability to imitate the color and decorating details. This is by far the worst cake decorating job. Color was way off and many elements were missing. If the party was not on the day I picked it up, I would just gave it back to them. I was so disappointed and almost too embarrassed to serve but I had no choice. Very very disappointed!! read more

I ordered a cake from La Pain Bakery recently(in person) two days in advance for a celebration event at work for a co-worker who recovered from illness. I requested for my co-worker's name on the cake. When I ordered it, I wrote down the name and gave it to them. They have it written down on the order and pick-up slip. On the day I went to pick up the cake, it was 8pm at night, the worker at the bakery looked at my pick-up slip, puzzled for a few seconds and start looking around cake area, trying to figure out which cake is mine. Then another worker at the bakery pointed to a 8" freshly whipped one(the type of cake I ordered) inside the display shelf, indicating that one is. The first worker then confirmed with me the name I requested, start packing and handed the cake to me. I did not think much and took the cake home. The next day at work at the event when I opened the cake box, I cannot find any writing or card with my co-worker's name inside the cake box at all. so disappointed!! Now I realize, they just gave me what's available (or left over for that day) for the type of cake I ordered, it's not really a personalized cake, I don't even know when that cake was made. What is the point of ordering it in advance then? I feel their practice is dishonest, and just try to sell out the cakes they have left at the end of the day. I will not go back to that place. The cake is delicious though. read more

My bosses birthday was 3/2, I looked up bakeries last Friday to order a cake from to celebrate; I came across Le Pain and decided to head in to order as it's close to work. The ladies behind the counter are really lovely and kind (they gave me a free pastry after I paid), I placed my order for a 7 inch round cream filled cake topped with fruit (the one I ordered is identical to the picture posted by Mayra F. in 2012; yes that's quiet a while ago but the cake in the case was IDENTICAL to her picture). I ordered that exact cake to be picked up Monday 3/2 at 10:30 am. I was disappointed with the way my cake turned out; it was nice, but not what I ordered. When I spoke with the ladies Friday they made sure I said the fruit topped cake and pointed to it 4 times, I said yes- exactly like this (it was really lovely) and mind turned out looking like the weird cousin to this lovely cake. Total cost around $30...total worth..? Not quite there. The cake itself was decent, the filling was nice but the yellow cake was a bit wet tasting as my coworker pointed out. I was the only one who was really let down out of the 4 people that ate the cake; I believe they can do better and am willing to give this bakery another chance one day. read more

We ordered a birthday cake for family member in advance last month. It was obvious dry and not fresh when we picked up. This isn't an honest business method. I feel bad, for birthday is only once a year. The bakery tried to save money and gave the old cake to the customer who had ordered in advance.
