BINGSOO MATCHA - 21 +0.95 for ice cream The bingsoo here is pretty big and more than enough for the three of us. There was a generous amount of red bean, mochi, cork flakes, and a sizable scoop of matcha ice cream. The bingsoo had a fine texture that was good, but I personally didn't love the matcha flavor or the red bean. I hope in the future I can change my review... but this location is majorly understaffed with how busy it gets. I felt so bad for the two workers possibly three working that night my friends and I came for a "quick" sweet bite. We ended up waiting for at least an hour and half for all of our orders to come out. One of the orders was a single macaroon that took 30 minutes! When we came up to ask for it, the worker merely shrugged us off. I'm not blaming her one bit as we weren't entirely sure if she was the only one working that night. It's small, so I imagine if it gets busy it's crowded. They offer a variety of cafe classics like teas, bevs (also has boba) and pastries. They also offer some Korean boonshik (snack-ish finger foods), including ramen. They also have the nifty ramen cooker as seen in dramas. Can't go wrong with getting dessert right after dinner. It's in the same shopping center right next to H-Mart so you can't miss it. Parking is massive and I'm sure you'll find a spot no matter how you get here. This place is a lot smaller than I initially thought but that's okay. There's like a kiosk up front if you want to order by yourself or the counter if you feel more confident in what you want. It was packed when I came here but by the time I finished ordering what I wanted, there were some seats available. A lot of cute décor if you are into that, that's how they get you if you ever seen anyone's Instagram reels about the place. In a way the place has a lot of pink almost all over the walls and some garden esque décor. Maybe they were trying to go for a cute aesthetic, it really is a cool place if you're into that. Honestly I wasn't even sure what I wanted so I went with ordering Macaroons and Matcha Bingsoo ( cup ). I didn't want to drink anything else as that same day I drank bubble tea and wanted something that wasn't going to make me feel bloated. The Macaroons, I got Tiramisu, Strawberry, and Mint Chocolate Chip. I'm just going to say it right here, the Tiramisu was the worst out of the three. It was also the most messy as there's powder on it and I had to go to the bathroom to clean up my pants as powder kept falling onto it. The taste wasn't good either but a bold coffee taste to it. The strawberry macaroon? Not overly sweet but it tasted as it looked, sweet and delicious. I would get it again. The Mini Chocolate; as the color is a bit off putting, it was like a giant mint oreo; but softer. I think it was my favorite despite the color. I honestly wish I ordered more of that really. The Matcha Bingsoo in a cup was actually the star of the show here. Although it looks small, I thought it was perfect for the price and it's enough for one person. There's matcha cream, red bean, mochi, frosted flakes, and underneath it all is shaved ice that probably has tons of matcha powder on top ( I hope I'm saying this right ). It was very refreshing as when you mix everything, it does feel like you are eating a sweet matcha slush in a way. I wanted to try this new cafe with a friend and everything we got went wrong. We each wanted our own taiyaki swirl but they said they ran out of the bread- I suggested just getting the matcha ube swirl and they only have the ube. Then they suggested substituting the two taiyaki bread with the puffle one. So we thought sure and they processed to charge us extra?? We talked with the manager and they refunded us one of our orders so we just shared one. Then proceeded to tell us that they weren't allowed to put the ube on top of the puffle bread and gave it to us in a cup. Which for that I woulda been fine with, but a customer after us ordered the same thing we did and got it constructed/the correct way. Also the cashier forgot powdered sugar on our bread :( and it came out wayyy before the ice cream so it was cold and not enjoyable. Also they got our topping order wrong and they up charged for mochi?? Again I would of been fine with it if they were transparent on their menu with it like how other businesses are. My biggest concerns were why they decided to advertise menu items if they weren't capable of making. Also somewhat felt like because we were Hispanic, that they didn't really treat us as well as their other main demographic customers. I could be well overthinking it but the treatment and service was obviously better for others than us. Also not sure why they ran out of half of their ingredients when it was 5pm? New cafe in NOVA! They sell a variety of things like croffles and bingsoo. I tried the fruit croffle and strawberry bingsoo. The croffle was yummy, but cold/ not super crispy and flaky. I wish they would make them to order / heat up the croffle portion before serving (maybe with the whipped cream on the side or added on after heating). The bingsoo was fairly pricy ($22) but the shaved snow part was sweet and milky. I didn't love the strawberry syrup part because it tasted artificial but the mochi, red bean, and real strawberries were good. Every ingredients tasted fresh (not doused in syrup or sugary fruit purées). The croffle is phenomenal. The owner/manager? of the cafe came by and spoke to us about how all croffles are made freshly everyday. There is something different about Bdan croffles compared to other competitors. She mentioned the special thing about their croffle is the cream that has heavy portion of mascarpone cheese AND buttery french croissant dough. ALSO, their portion is what it says on the price. You will get it when you try it. The service was great. Staffs are wonderful and friendly. The order was served less than 15 min considering how busy they seemed. The ambiance is trendy. Interior is very colorful so definitely instagrammable for anyone! Every decor and table set remind me of Ice Cream Museum in NYC. It was such an amazing experience. The food was absolutely amazing. the service was great from the moment we walked in. The young lady in the front asked for help when we presented her some cards that have the allergies of the kids. Usually, you order on a screen so that the people in the back can make the food fresh. I tried this place a few weeks ago and really liked it! It's right next to the H Mart in Centreville so if you ever want a sweet treat give this place a shot. It does get super busy. I came on a Friday around 8 pm and it was packed and my order took a long time. They have one kiosk if you want to take your time when ordering or you can order at the cashier, but if it's busy you might be waiting a little bit. The servers were nice and pleasant The vibe here is super cute! One thing that is a little weird is that they have the trash can behind the counter. They pull out the trash can for you when you ask where the trash can is. I'm not sure if that's because it was busy, but it is a little weird. I ordered the customizable puffle ice cream and it was so good! I loved it! I thought it would be a lot smaller but wow it was huge. I believe it came with about 4 scoops of ice cream in it. You choose 2 flavors so you get double the scoop of each flavor. They have a wide variety of toppings to choose from too! The puffle cone itself is so good as well. Honestly this ice cream can be shared between 2 people because it's so big. They make the puffle cone fresh so it does take a while to be made and if they're busy it will take a lot longer. Decided to try this place on a whim after searching up desserts in Centreville. Cafe Bdan is a small, quaint cafe next to HMart. The interior is really cozy, but it got cramped. We went there around 3pm on a Sunday, and the place was packed the entire time my friends and I ate there. You can order at the register or via one kiosk, but it was not obvious that you could order at the register so the kiosk line got very backed up. I ordered an ube/vanilla soft serve swirl, and it came out within a minute of ordering. If you order any other menu item, expect a much longer wait, around 10 minutes. No complaints about my soft serve at all. Tasted like ube and vanilla! My friends ordered cookies & cream ice cream, a taiyaki, strawberry cheesecake ice cream, ube milk tea, and brown sugar milk tea. They all enjoyed their desserts, aside from the ube milk tea, which they said tasted as if it had expired milk. It's difficult to establish yourself among all the dessert spots in the heart of Centreville, but I think Bdan has carved a nice niche for itself with Asian ice cream/soft serve flavors and bingsoo. read more

I noticed this place recently opened and there were quite a few people sitting inside and outside. I don't think bubble tea is their specialty but I was craving it so I tried the brown Tiger sugar milk tea. It did not have as many customizations like most boba places with percentages on ice and sweetness. It asked either no sugar half sweet or sweet. I usually like 100% and sometimes 80% in other places so I opted for sweet and then had to wait almost 20 minutes for my order. It is so incredibly sweet I couldn't take more than a few sips. Not balanced at all. The boba was inconsistent as well as I tasted a few that were cooked nicely and some still hard. The ones that were cooked nicely at least I can tell they were slightly sweet which I usually like but with the overpowering milk tea it was not good at all. Cute little pink cafe that stays open late at night! I love the vibe here but it gets super crowded on the weekends so be aware as there is limited seating and it can be loud. I mostly came here to try the bingsoo and loved how generous with the fruits they are at this place. This makes it one of the top bingsoo places I have yet tried in the DMV. You get a scoop of ice cream, mochi, red bean paste (adzuki bean) and mixed nuts which is pretty traditional. Came here to try out a new cafe and absolutely LOVED it. The interior is SO cute and insta worthy even including the bathroom with real bamboo like secret garden. We tried their matcha bingsoo which was 12/10 hands down the best bingsoo i had in the nova area. It was so creamy with phenomenal toppings and you can even choose what flavor cream you want. I absolutely do not recommend Bdan due to false advertisement and extremely poor service. During my visit today, I experienced 3 significant issues within just ~10 minutes: 1. Their sign outside advertised "Taiyaki Ice Cream," but it was not available because the machine had not arrived from Japan yet, as per one of the female employees' explanation. 2. I decided to give Bdan another chance and ordered a "Ube Milk Tea" through their kiosk. However, the female employee came up to inform me that it was also not available and asked me to choose a different Milk Tea. I asked her for other options and settled for their Bdan Milk Tea. 3. She then told me the owner required an extra $2 for the Bdan Milk Tea. I refused and requested a refund instead. The owner finally came to the front and was extremely unfriendly. Because he did not know how to issue a refund, he unwillingly offered to make the Bdan Milk Tea for me, but I declined. With so many other wonderful cafes and tea shops in the area, I'd rather show my support elsewhere. Avoid Bdan if you're looking for a pleasant experience and excellent customer service. read more
