I loved this place so much. I was looking forward to it staying a favorite. The professional looking photo is what used to be sold at rice culture for $8 dollars each. This is also what their menu photos still look like. Very yummy, worth it to me. The next two photos are what we received tonight. Still $8. I'm so disappointed and frankly heartbroken. $19 bucks with tax for whatever these are.

Great dessert spot! I've tried the taiyaki, halo halo, drinks and soft serve and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their options. Everything was delicious except halo halo was a tad too sweet for my liking but if you enjoy sweet desserts, it shouldn't be an issue. All the taiyaki flavors are great. My favorite was Nutella and the ube flavor soft serve has a very strong, authentic flavor which was also yummy. If you are looking for a sweet solid dessert place, this is definitely a good stop to stop by!

This place was tech friendly and "old" people like us were fascinated at how we could customize our dessert without speaking to a human. I tried their version of Filipino Halo Halo. The ingredients enticed me: lanka, ube soft serve, leche flan, beans. When it came to taste, it was not my mother's halo halo. A nice copycat but very different. The ice was too thick and the flan was like a flat soft cookie. The soft serve Ube was almost there but not really. Service was super friendly. Staff dude was on point in decorating this Halo Halo. The ambiance of the place is welcoming. It has lots of seating and a big window to stare out into the parking lot.

My first time with this soft serve dish. Ordering via kiosk was fun. The portion size was huge. At the counter I had the option to add toppings. I chose Rice Krispies. This topping elevated this dream cup.. Staff was super friendly. He presented my cup with pride. We enjoyed our treats at the window seats. The place was clean and bright.

I know Rice Culture is known for their taiyaki, but imo... their soft serve is where it's at. The taiyaki has a sweet and slightly salty dough. The texture vaguely reminds me of a warmed up leige waffle? The filling is custardy and not too sweet. They're just okay to me. None of the flavors I had really stood out to me, except their strawberry hojicha which had a nice tartness and brightness. I also enjoyed their savory versions a bit more than the sweeter ones. The soft serve, though, is super good! I feel like the flavors pop out more. The texture is nice and smooth! The small cup is a little TOO small for me, so I would recommend getting the bigger one. The combo of ice cream and taiyaki rules though! The flavors rotate, so it's hard to recommend one. Service was quick! The store is pretty cute and has games on the tables to play! I've never been on the weekend, so it's never been too busy.

Ice cream is good, service is even better. You order at the little kiosks. The taiyaki's are made ahead of time so they're cold- I assumed they were like Korean boongobbang and served warm. I sampled the black sesame and ube - both good. I ended up getting the matcha black sesame swirl with plain taiyaki. I asked the person working what flavor filling taiyaki he liked best and he named a few and said he also loved the pizza taiyaki. You can opt to have pizza taiyaki made fresh but it takes 25 minutes. I chose to do that because my friend and I were caught up playing a game of Incoherent anyway. Fresh is the way to go- outside is crispy inside is gooey cheese, marinara, and pepperoni. The batter is sweet so I liked the savory inside. Ambiance is chill and AC amazing. Wednesdays are BOGO 50% off. Will come back!

Service was quick. On that hot Saturday afternoon, the nice cold shop would cool you down. There are tables and chairs inside. The sweets here are yummy! I think it's because of the ube (purple yam) ice cream that they have - very rich and creamy. Soo good. The OG halo halo with ube elote (purple yam and brown butter corn which is sweet corn with browned butter) was very good. The ube custard taiyaki soft serve and ube Vietnamese iced coffee were great too! Very yummy ube desserts. Good value for your money.

I had the original hot chocolate with homemade ube fluff and loved it. It is a nice hot drink to have especially during winters. I have not had such a hot chocolate before. It was different and tasted really good. It takes some for them to prepare the hot chocolate. The service is good. Staff are friendly.

Rice Culture Chantilly is in a wonderful location with popular restaurants right near it and in the same shopping center as a Costco and Target. The parking lot can get a bit busy on a Sunday due to Costco shoppers, but otherwise location is great with ample parking. The shop itself is beautifully designed very lively, very inviting and has the delicious smell of taiyaki. Me and my partner shared the Ube and lychee strawberry(July exclusive flavor) swirl in a cup with the taiyaki Ube on top! It was delicious and the Ube was very rich. We personally couldn't taste the lychee and strawberry it mostly just was the Ube flavor that over powdered it which is not a bad thing but just a piece to note if you do a mixed flavor swirl! I would 100% come back and try out the additional items on their menu. The halo-halo options looked delicious!

First time trying this location; I placed the order online even though I was already in the parking lot. There was one person ahead of me which went quick. The guy behind the counter was super nice; offered all the toppings (which you don't see online btw) and topped it off with the fish waffle! I did see the low reviews about a hollow space in the middle where they swirled around the edge but honestly who cares... the hole is small and they swirl above and beyond so I'm not complaining. It was delicious and I will be back!

Rice Culture is a fun little spot for soft serve and taiyaki. It's definitely a great addition to the area, especially since it's open later than most ice cream shops. They offer unique and exciting flavors like ube and pandan, which are both not commonly found at other places. I wasn't a fan of the sakura milk, but that might just come down to personal preference. As for the taiyaki, the filling seemed a bit grainy and lacked the smoothness I was hoping for. Service is quick and efficient. Customers order at the kiosk, and everything is made on the spot. Once your order is ready, they'll call you up so you can add toppings or drizzles at no extra cost.

UGH this place is so delicious. I just found out that they had their fall flavors too. There's not too many people and the place is cute. There's board games scattered around if you wanted to hangout and play board games but the space isn't too big. The cashiers are nice, there's probably like 1-2 at a time when you're there. I heard that the owner really cares about the matcha quality here. Love it! The taiyaki are okay... I think I'd go for the ice cream and drinks more!

finally tried Rice Culture in Chantilly so yummy 10/10 we tried the espresso and cheesecake swirl and the ube pandan swirl. I loved the retro modern vibe with checkered floors, inviting and lively colors and MCM furniture. The staff was friendly and you can choose as many toppings as you want.

Overall, it's sweet but an absolute must-get -- somehow the croffle stays super crispy despite being absolutely drenched in Nutella. The tiramisu snow, on the other hand, didn't quite hit the same. It was topped with chocolate ice cream, which I actually think hurt the dish. The snow itself is super soft and fluffy, but paired with the rich chocolate ice cream, it made the snow taste almost icy in comparison. Separately, the snow is great -- together, not my favorite combo. I also tried the Thai tea with bubbles, just to sample their drinks. Unfortunately, the bubbles weren't the texture I like, and the Thai tea had an artificial taste. I ordered it less sweet (I usually prefer my drinks a lot less sweet than standard), but after the sugar overload from the other desserts, it just wasn't enjoyable. I'd definitely come back for the croffle and to try their "ade" drinks, but I'm not sure I'd get the snow again.

We ordered the Greentea Mochi Snowflake and were pretty disappointed. I was hoping that the green tea flavor would be more of a matcha flavor but that wasn't the case. I like the taste of green tea so I wouldn't have minded but the bingsu was so sweet, I could barely taste any green tea flavor. The best part about the bingsu was the corn flakes and mochi bits but I don't even like corn flakes. The portion was pretty generous and could easily be shared with 2-3 people, which would be nice if the bingsu was actually good. We ended up only eating less than half of it. Would I go back? : Definitely not. I've never had a bad bingsu before and unfortunately this will be the first. We ended up going to Chateau de Chantilly Cafe afterwards because of how unsatisfied we were with our experience.

The decor makes you think of what you'd find at an eccentric great aunt's home, but in a positive way. Each area has its own mini aesthetic that contributes to the entire place; in the back are color themed books that give it a more serious look, while upstairs is more whimsical in it's random assortment of chairs and couches. The food is in appealing display cases downstairs. The stand out pastries for me are the tiramisu filled cronuts. Drinks wise, they have the typical cafe fare but excitingly so they also have Colombe on draft which I will always be excited about. I recommend this place to grab a snack and socialize!

They also have outdoor seating, plus a not-so-secret second floor where you can usually find a cozy spot. I've ordered cakes from here multiple times, and they're incredibly smooth and not overly sweet, and honestly, it's hard to go back to typical American cakes after trying these. Everything just feels thoughtfully made. The service is just as impressive, everyone seems really knowledgeable about the menu and genuinely willing to help you decide on the perfect order (especially if you're indecisive like me).
