We came across First Watch looking for a new place for brunch. The service was pretty great. We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated immediately by the hostess. Our server was friendly and had great knowledge of the menu. Now on to the food. We decided to go with the Chicken Pesto Bowl and Biscuits with Gravy and Egg. The chicken pesto bowl is a good idea for a healthy option but the flavors needs some work. The lemon flavor was too strong and the pesto did not really come through. Entire entree needed more salt. The biscuit was flaky and light which was awesome. The gravy was a little bland even though it had turkey sausage. The eggs and potatoes were well prepared which made the entree worth it. Overall this place is probably a 3.5 star overall and not a bad option for brunch. read more

First Watch is such a dependable chain for brunch. The menu is extensive enough that there's something for everyone, and this particular location has a lot of seating. Our service was solid, but they did forget some sides that were ordered. They were, however, quick to correct it once we notified them. What I like about First Watch is that you can get something different every time, but other than that, I would rather go to a different brunch place. read more

Had a wonderful breakfast at this First Watch in the Greenbriar Town Center. We ordered the Morning Market Veg Omelet, which came with a side of toast, and a Veggie Burger with a side of salad. Both dishes were well made, well seasoned, and full of flavor. The portions were quite filling and reasonably priced. The service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. It can get quite busy on weekends, so be prepared for a wait. read more

I got the chimichurri steak and hash, bacon, and honeycomb coffee. Haven't been back here in a while, and I was excited to try the food. The hash was good, with a nice portion, but the steak was a bit too well done for me. Love the iced coffee; the bacon was a nice side dish. The service was a bit slow, not sure why because it wasn't very busy at the moment. read more

Very busy and popular business. We waited our turn and were rewarded with delicious food and great service. I especially loved the pancakes!

I used to go to First Watch a lot in the past but now as I gotten older I realized that it is just alright! There is nothing wrong with the food per say but it does not really stand out to me. I ordered the Bacado Omelet. It comes with mixed greens of seasoned potatoes. I opted for the seasoned potatoes which were well seasoned and very filling. It came with a good amount and I was not able to finish it all. The omelet had bacon, avocado, and cheese. It was topped with sour cream and had a side of tomatoes. The omelet was fine but again nothing great. I wish the ingredients were more combined because it was not too cohesive. I had to spread the sour cream and scoop some tomato with each bite. Otherwise, it was fine. Service was good and average, no complaints. The inside was nicely lit with noise level was minimal (on a weekday) so it was a relaxing lunch. read more

First Watch is starting to feel like the GAR of brunches-- service and food are consistently good. My favorite things to get are chickichanga (eggs, cheese, chorizo, chicken rolled in a flour tortilla with some kind of delicious sauce) and lemon ricotta pancakes. I really wanted to try their limited time prosciutto Parmesan toast, but they crossed it out on the menu. I tried my friend's Bloody Mary with million dollar bacon- both delicious. Bacon was sweet and savory (cooked with brown sugar and maple syrup). I wish the bacon was thicker but all good. I left full bellied, happy, and face flush with glow. They have Cholula and ketchup on every table. They have Tabasco, you just have to ask for it. read more

This was my first time trying First Watch and I definitely will be coming back! My friend and I both ordered the Chimichurri Steak and Eggs Hash and my friend ordered the Blueberry Lemon Cornbread. The hash was delicious and the portion size was more than enough. I tasted the blueberry lemon cornbread, it was soft, not too sweet and the lemon butter on top added a nice touch! We were seated as soon as we came in and the service was nice and swift. The ambiance was very warm and inviting. read more

The service was so bad. Only got checked on three times- which to take our order, give us food, and give us water. Not even to give us the check. They also brought water after our meal. Probably the worst First Watch location I've ever been to. 1.) too many servers standing around doing absolutely nothing but chatting with each other either at the register or by the kitchen 2.) servers are not attentive matter of fact - you literally had to get out your seat to get their attention and few of the female servers would right by us and completely ignore us and walk the other way on purpose or say they will get our server and never do. 3.) our server took forever even to take our order and once our order came - she was no where to be found - couldn't ask for anything - couldn't tell her our food wasn't cooked well done as we requested 4.) asked for food well done - didn't come well done 5.) I asked for pickled onions - they claimed they don't have it but they clearly do ! 6.) drinks were trash read more

Wow is all Ican say. Wife and I decided to make it a date Sunday and we settled on here for breakfast. It didn't disappoint. Though they were busy we only had a short wait. We met one of the managers, Kasey Carpenter, who told us his favorites, along with our server. We both had the Tri-fecta. Delish! We will definitely be back. read more

I had a mid-morning (10:30am) meal on a weekday here. The dining room was about 3/4 full and we were greeted and seated right away. The ambiance is nice and lively and a step up from the larger breakfast chains in the area. Our server was nice and attentive. I ordered the carne asada hash (seasonal menu) and my dining partner ordered from the Two For You menu, selecting half a market veggie sandwich and a cup of cheese and broccoli soup. We also shared a pot of their coffee. The hash was excellent. I opted to have the included two eggs scrambled. It was a very good portion and even though I used up the two corn tortillas making mini tacos while still having a lot of the dish remaining to get through, those tortillas were enough. They had Cholula original hot sauce on the table which added a nice zing to the dish. The broccoli cheese soup was pretty good. It was thickened a bit too much for my dining partner as she likes a runnier soup. The market veggie sandwich was great. The sauteed vegetables and pesto sauce came in between two well-buttered toasted pieces of bread. The regular coffee was pretty good and I had to full cups. Our waiter presented the pot of coffee to us when he first came to our table. Of course, I could have declined it, but I did want coffee regardless. However, the price of the pot (free refills) was not listed on the menu and I was surprised to see it on the receipt at $3.99/person. Maybe that's normal for all you can drink coffee at breakfast places, but it would have been nice to see it indicated on the menu before it being brought to our table by the waiter. Overall, this is a breakfast (or lunch) place I'd come to again, and especially before going to any of the other larger breakfast chain restaurants. read more

Came here for Sunday breakfast- nice food and service. The seating is good too. Quick and attentive service.

We tried to go here on the weekend around 9:30AM; the line was out the door and with a long wait. However, being retired has some benefits! We returned mid-week around 10:30AM and were seated immediately with our waitress, Stella, arriving within a couple of minutes. The Trifecta (i.e., Belgium waffle but without the blueberry compote, eggs and bacon) is our "go to" item on the menu; this always tastes good to us. The coffee is strong, but comes in a pot. At $3.99 per cup, we do multiple refills. Stella was attentive and we truly appreciated her attention to our table. We are looking forward to the First Watch opening in Reston. read more

Update: Husband insisted on calling and getting my order correct. After speaking with the manager, I made another trip to pick up my pancakes. As annoyed as I am, these pancakes are delicious. Been ordering the lemon ricotta pancakes for years. But the last few times, I've very disappointed with their to go service. They are always forgetting something. Today, I received a pancake without the lemon curd and fruits it usually comes with. I don't even taste the ricotta. This pancake is very dry. I may need to reconsider going to this location. read more

Just want to start off by thanking out server for being super welcoming and kind. He was great at double checking out order, smiling, and speaking in a kind tone. The inside of the place is very comfortable and cozy. I enjoy eating at this locations with the spacious, open, and bright environment. Food was delicious! Large restaurant and was excited to see a location opened nearby so I can try it out! Overall the food was good but didn't feel like it was worth the price Cinnamon toast cereal milk - 3.5/5 barely taste alcohol, sweet (maybe slightly too sweet) and really taste like cinnamon cereal milk! Mimosa - 2.5/5 standard, always decent Million dollar breakfast sandwich - 3.75/5 very good! Like an upgraded version of breakfast sandwich and egg was cooked perfectly! I'm not crazy for bacon but their bacon is better than average for sure Honey bacon brussel hash - 2/5 I feel like some pieces of brussel and hash could've been cooked longer. recently visited this brunch spot on a Sunday and made a reservation in advance, anticipating a wait. Thankfully, we were seated within 10 minutes of checking in, which was a great start to our experience. We started with the summer drinks--Morning Meditation fresh juice and Purple Haze. Both drinks were refreshing and had a deep, satisfying flavor. For the main course, we ordered the traditional breakfast with chicken patties, Chickichanga, and cheesy grits. Every dish was delicious and well-prepared, showcasing the quality of the ingredients and the skill in the kitchen. However, I was disappointed to find that my water glass had visible stains. While it may seem like a small detail, it did take away from the otherwise pleasant dining experience. Overall, the food and drinks were fantastic, but attention to detail in the cleanliness of tableware could be improved. read more

I'm a fan of The First Watch locations I've previously visited - so when I discovered a First Watch in the Greenbriar/Chantilly area - I knew I was due for a visit. I was seated promptly. After looking over the menu - I opted for the Farmhouse Skillet Hash - which comes with seasoned, roasted potatoes, two cage free eggs, bacon, avocado, house-roasted onions tomatoes, and cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. I also ordered a side of bacon (4 strips), and coffee and water. The food came out in about 10 minutes - even thought the place was very busy. The skillet hash was DELISH! And the bacon was succulent! Yummm!!! Service was very good. Paid at the register with Apple Pay. #FirstWatch read more

Honestly, impressed at our waiter!!! The kitchen was extremely backed up, our food didn't come out for an hour. However the waiter mad everything worth while. He was so kind and attentive. He brought out free beverages on the house and gave us a free muffin while we waited. He truly went above and beyond with taking care of us. He would check in on us and see if we needed anything periodically and give us updates. We order the: Fresh baked muffin of the day (complimentary due to waiting long) 9/10 Chorizo omelet 8/10 - cooked a little too hard Healthy Turkey 8/10 New mango and pineapple juice 10/10 Overall I appreciated the experience and I will definitely come back. Nothing but a positive experience here on this trip. My gf and I stopped in for breakfast before her hair appointment. We were seated right away but it was a very busy breakfast morning. I ordered the healthy turkey omelet with added ham and my gf ordered the Mexican omelet with bacon instead of chorizo as well as a waffle. The food ended up being good but took a while to get out. But while we waited our waiter was very kind and brought us some muffins, free of charge, to apologize for the long wait time due to the kitchen being backed up. I wish I had written his name down. He was communicative and helpful to ensure we were informed and wouldn't leave dissatisfied. He was truly an example of how you offer customer service. There was nothing that could be done about the wait but he made it more enjoyable to wait. I would happily visit this location again based on this experience. read more

Always a great experience at First Watch. I've been several times, but this was my husbands first time. We were seated promptly as it wasn't too busy, but definitely began to fill up. Our server took our drink order right away while we perused the menu. I had the Traditional Breakfast with egg whites, toast, turkey sausage and I substituted cheesy grits for the potatoes. My husband had the Tri-fecta. He had bacon, multi-grain pancake and what he described as a perfectly cooked over medium egg. Went in this morning at 8:30. There were seven tables occupied. There was one woman with five children. Apparently she worked there because she kept running back into the kitchen. While her kids were sitting at the table. We ordered our food. We received our food at 9:10. My French toast and eggs were cold. Not room temperature but cold. I will never go back there again. I also ordered a soda never got a refill but when he came back and I told him I didn't want the food because it was cold and I didn't want another order. I didn't want to wait 45 minutes again. He came back with a bill for four dollars and something for the soda that he never bothered refilling. What has happened to this restaurant? By the way, the woman that apparently worked there and had the five kids came in after us, but they got seven plates of food before us. read more

Got seated on the patio, sat there for 20 minutes with not even a drink order, watching two different servers take the orders of the other two tables out there, and ignore us. As a former server myself, at the bare minimum, I expect to be greeted within 7-10 minutes of sitting down. If you're busy, you're busy. But you gotta communicate with your table. Or even if it's not your table, just be like "hey guys your server will be with you in a minute" or something. Any form of acknowledgement before 20 minutes have passed would have been appreciated. It felt like we were invisible. Anyways, we left without being spoken to once since being sat, and went to Ted's Bulletin in Reston instead. Good pop tarts there! read more

Great food and atmosphere. Wish they had lattes though. It's a great spot for brunch!

Could deal without the traffic Chantilly is known for. Thank goodness for the relaxing vibe here. First Watch has grown substantially, but they've done this right. The focus on quality and customer satisfaction, is appreciated by this diner and plenty of others. Here you will like this location. Plus if you want to go clothes shopping, many options on foot are available. Thank you to the vibrant and friendly employees! They always do a great job. This place used to be good but food quality and preparation has declined. I ordered eggs Benedict and it was two boiled eggs with Hollandaise sauce. This is the second time I have experienced that. They are either doing that deliberately or don't know how to poach an egg. Service however is great. They took it off the bill when I pointed it out. This was our 3rd visit to this location & the food was delicious as always! Today we had a bad experience with the service. She seemed as if she was having a bad day so we didn't think anything of it until we saw her enjoying herself in the kitchen the entire time. She only took our orders in the beginning & gave us the bill at the end. No warm greetings or any other manners. She did not check on us once (this was post breakfast rush). We had finished our drinks before the food arrived & had to bother other servers for beverage refills. Came to visit my girlfriend in VA and she said this place a was a good spot. Came here at around 11am and it was super busy. Wait would of been around 1.5-2 hours but luckily there was a table that is a first come first serve sitting next to other people which was better than waiting. I ordered the Chickichanga and it was good. The sauce on it was tasty. Definitely was a nice change to the basic breakfast that you can find anywhere. Was a good price as well. Came here with my family and some friends after my niece was baptized at a church nearby! There were 7 of us and we were seated promptly without a wait around 1:30pm. There is plenty of parking outside since this is in a strip mall area with many businesses. The place was clean and service was good! Our waitress got two iced coffee orders wrong but she let us keep the incorrect ones and brought out the right ones quickly. They were good about refilling our waters and coffee. Food came out fast and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal! I got the Farmhouse Hash which was tasty and so filling, I couldn't finish it all! I wish it was served with hashbrowns instead of potatoes as the base, but I'm sure that's something I could request next time. I've seen First Watch across several states, and FINALLY paid them a visit for breakfast. I seriously have to stop doing that. I've been missing out on greatness for YEARS! This place is one of my favorite places now! I originally went as a morning date with my hubby. It was quiet, clean, and bright! I love pancakes, so I decided to go with french toast and million dollar bacon! They had a seasonal menu which sounded great! The french toast was served with lemon ricotta cream, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, house-made granola and crème anglaise. THIS was soooo good. I instantly got sad that it was seasonal and would be leaving soon. So, what could I do? Go everyday? I wish! Instead, I went every other day, and ordered this toast! I only had about 1.5 weeks remaining before they changed the seasonal menu. Since then, First Watch has been a normal instance of my morning routine. You can even go solo and take meetings while enjoying some awesome waffles and coffee. Nice, clean, great food, and super staff makes this place amazing! read more

The 8:00 am Saturday breakfast was a good experience. The restaurant was not crowded so we could enjoy a leisurely (1.5 hrs.) meal and conversation. You could not likely do this later in the day or on Sunday. The service staff was friendly and we didn't require too much support because they leave you with a big urn of coffee. The food was very tasty. I had the Tri Fecta (Belgian Waffle, two over medium eggs, pork sausage links) and a side of buttered grits. You could really tell the higher quality of food over what you get at other, less expensive establishments. The ambiance is open and friendly. Overall it was good (not all good) but I'd definitely go back even though I'd estimate the meal price to be 20-25% higher than other average places. Quality does count. However, I have to say the only negative thing I experienced was that the food arrived lukewarm. I can't face lukewarm or cold grits. I asked the server if they could microwave them for me and he said they didn't have a microwave (which, by the way, as a long time home cook, I find doubtful). But he may be right because the "new one" was only slightly warm. Lastly, the chair seats are hard wood, but I don't blame them. They probably didn't spec them to be used in 1.5 hour sittings. read more

First watch is a popular spot and there's often a wait. Overall, the food tasted fresh but was average in flavor and preparation. I liked the barbacoa due to the pairings of beans, eggs, and avocado.
