I really want to love First Watch, but they don't seem to share that desire. We've been to many First Watch location. All are flawed, but this particular one on Rt. 50 seems to struggle the most. Every time we visit, if it's not this, it's that. Once their system failed and we weren't added to the waitlist, so we ended up waiting 45 minutes before realizing we weren't even on the list and then the wait time was about 90 mins for a table. Once they forgot a serious modification that could have caused a health emergency. Once we got into an argument with the server because they misspoke about a hidden up charge and then lied about it. Today, they just simply forgot to put our orders in and didn't realize until 30 minutes later that our orders had not even been placed. Always different host staff or servers, but always at this location. There is almost no manager presence. In each of these situations, no manager has ever come to speak with us, smooth things over, or offer recompense. Once, I was livid and contacted them by email and the manager only said to come back and he would pay for my meal. The restaurant is always just a bunch of servers and host staff running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The customers are always sitting straight up like meerkats, looking around for absent food and servers. When it does arrive, the food is pretty good, but we always ask ourselves if it's worth the grief--it's not. Each time, after about a year, we seem to recover from the trauma enough to give First Watch one more try. Today, we were celebrating and decided to give First Watch yet another chance. I think that was their last strike. For whatever reason, First Watch seems to go out of their way to provide a terrible experience for us. We get it, you don't want our business! read more

My family was looking for somewhere casual to eat around 11:30am. First Watch was perfect. Some could order breakfast, others lunch, everyone happy. The staff demonstrated good COVID protocols and the restaurant was very clean. The food was delicious and the staff top notch. read more

The service was great. The food was awesome. Our server was amazing. Definitely will go back when in town.

First watch is a popular spot and there's often a wait. Overall, the food tasted fresh but was average in flavor and preparation. I liked the barbacoa due to the pairings of beans, eggs, and avocado. However, the waiter made several mistakes, including dropping someone else's order at our table, taking over 10 minutes to bring syrup, and didn't come check in during the meal. The hassle of the wait and the overstretched staff would make me think twice before coming again. read more

Server was super friendly explaining the drinks to us. Quiet background music, noisy due to lots of people but comfortable. Wife liked the farm fresh concept. Started with the Morning Meditation (all natural beets, orange, turmeric, and ginger) delicious and good looking drink. I ordered The Works to try out the three meats. The Wife loved the pumpkin pancake. Everything we ordered was great. read more

The worst service for mediocre food at best. If you aren't white, I'd be wary of the service you get here. For the food, nothing noteworthy. The bacon was hard as a rock and tastes like the kind you buy at Walmart. From the moment we walked into the door to when we got our food was about one hour so I'd be cautious about eating here if you're on a schedule. The ambience is kind of like a slightly upgraded cracker barrel with a lot more noise. there are tons of actual good breakfast places in the area so I don't see any reason to come back here. read more

Horrible experience today. I know Saturday is busy, but we only waited 10 minutes for a table. Once we ordered, it took over an hour to get our room-temperature food. Server came once, to drop off a coffee pot and warm syrup (which was cold when I got my pancakes an hour later). My SO's brisket corned beef hash contained hardly any meat. White sauce was poured on top to disguise that it was mostly potatoes. Saw server when we ordered, and when she brought check. Horrible service. We wanted to get up and leave. Wish we had. read more

No silverware and only one cup for the table. Had to twice request silverware. Food was awful, toast burnt, eggs overcooked. Service was bad- lackadaisical and server never checked to see if we needed anything or refills. Coffee was worst I've ever had but I Needed coffee, I asked for 1/2 cup of hot water to dilute coffee and server brought me a brimful cup of water. I LOVE FIRST WATCH, but the one on rt 50 is to be avoided. Go to fair lakes or Reston. read more

First time here was awesome. Perfection. Incredible service and food. Second time, burnt potatoes and frozen bread. Impressive how you even do that. I was done with the meal when server checked on me. Manager didnt ask how everything was after, so I left and probably won't be back unless I am craving that hollandaise sauce. God that sauce is so good. read more

I have been to different locations a couple times and overall I like First Watch. This time, I tried the sausage and turkey gravy with eggs, and it was pretty good - I would order again. I think adding some fruit/veg as a side would balance the dish out better. The Million Dollar Bacon was a bit of a letdown - it was limp and not worth it IMO. The restaurant was quite busy during our visit. Even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait for a while before getting seated. I think this is pretty typical of First Watch to be honest. Though our server was nice and was doing their best, it was evident they were dealing with the rush, which affected the overall experience - food came out pretty slow and we needed to ask for water a couple times. Overall, it's a decent place and maybe the best local spot for a consistently good brunch. I'd recommend giving it a try, but it is very popular so make sure to reserve a table ahead of time. read more

Five stars breakfast place! Great food, interesting variety for breakfast. Especially fresh and delicious bursting with flavor and running yolks. The coffee was indeed very good. The staff, beautiful people. The atmosphere is very bright, friendly, and inviting; a perfect way to start the day. I highly recommend eating here! read more

First visit here and I was disappointed. Ordered the Egg white omelette with spinach, mushrooms and turkey in a wrap. It came with a side of fruit and some pico. Also had coffee. The wrap was very bland with an absence of any seasoning. The "fresh" fruit cup was dry as reflected by the strawberries and grapes. Looks as if it was sitting in the fridge. Same thing with the pico. I only ate a quarter of the wrap. I love coffee, but this was only fair- like the wrap, it was lacked flavor. Will I return? It's doubtful. This First Watch was my last! read more

First time at this location. Interior is spacious and clean and server was nice. I order the works and it definitely has a good amount things in it has both veggies and meat so it's well balanced. I'm not a huge fam of brunch food to begin with but this omelet was pretty good. Next time I wanna try the drinks too since they seem good. read more

I came here with a friend to grab brunch, and appreciated the waitlist feature on Google so we had an estimate of wait time. I still wish first watch would take reservations! Solid place to grab a quick breakfast. Plenty of menu items and very quick service. Spacious interior and friendly staff.

We're told we have a 15-25 min wait time and then 3 couples after us get seated before us. At no point was it ever communicated that there were reservations from home and that the wait time could extend. After waiting 20 mins and asking for an update, I see our wait time is still 15-25 mins with no updates. Absolutely unacceptable and horrible customer service. No explanation at all until I said something. read more

A nice, well-lit place with a farm/modern-barn type feel, with good food options that are decently price and average in taste. Customer service is fine, too from the waitstaff, but not so much from the hosts or those at the front. Areas of improvement: add hash browns and work on the quality/taste of the coffee (it was too dark). 3.5/5 read more

Customer service A+ Food A+ Cleanliness A+ Coming for Cali, my standards are pretty high honestly. Still, this place surprised me. I got the farm house skillet and enjoyed every bite. I loved our waitress, she was actually really nice. I genuinely enjoyed my time here. It was a great time. I would go back if I'm ever in town. If you're in this area I would recommend it. On a trip to DC and staying in Fairfax, we were looking for a brunch location. We were here on Super Tuesday with kids off school. At 11:30am, there was a wait which made us think, hmmm, until we figured out kids off school. Well, we were offered a 15-20 minute wait or to sit at the "community table". We choose the community table and what a great choice. We never turn down meeting new people although no one was seated at the table. This table seems like a counter at a diner. Such a great idea! The location although in a strip mall doesn't feel that way when inside. Very farmhouse chic vibe. Great staff. Our waitress came over almost immediately and took our drink orders. Coffee, Mimosa, and alcoholic Cereal milk. All were very good. Mimosa came with mini bottle of Barefoot brut. Amanda ordered the Chicken chimichanga. It came with a lemon sauce that was a little overpowering but overall very good with a large portion of potatoes. I ordered the skillet mash, farmhouse version with eggs over medium. This was very good, eggs perfect, a wheat toast along with some homemade grape jelly. Very tasty!! Would we come back, probably tomorrow before we leave for home! So absolutely! That says a lot cause I love finding new places! read more

This place was absolutely packed when we got here, luckily we were able to find a spot at the communal table and get seated immediately. Glad we were able to stay, the food here was well above average for breakfast. My Chorizo Omelette had a touch too much sour cream on top but that was easily taken care of. All in all, a pleasurable experience. read more

Wr were there for a late brunch. Food was decent, service was OK but not great. The place was loud, too loud to really have a conversation.

We always love coming to First Watch (both Fairfax and Chantilly locations) whenever we want a good and hearty brunch. I thought I joined the online waitlist for the Chantilly location and after checking-in, I realized it was the Fairfax waitlist that I joined. We were given about an hour wait time even though we had already been waiting an hour before arriving (completely my fault). However, the two hostesses were so sweet and offered us the communal area which is first come first serve. It was totally accommodating and everyone at the table had 0 issues and it almost felt very family-esque in the best way possible. read more

The food is good and service is fast. 5 stars. The traditional breakfast is excellent. Always a line to get in which shows how many people agree. Million dollar potatoes and brisket and gravy are fantastic. I am giving a 2 star because I went online to make a reservation the day before I was going there to meet up with some friends. I didn't find anywhere to make a reservation and read that they don't take reservations. When I showed up to get on the seating list I was asked if I was on the wait list. I mentioned that I didn't think they took reservations. The employee smirked and told me they don't take reservations but do have a wait list and not to get upset if several groups were seated be for us. Like it was my fault that I didn't know the difference and I was the issue. I asked what the difference was between a reservation and the wait list and was told "reservations reserved a specific table" and again made it clear it was my issue. Not very good way to treat customers. read more

First of all this location is really nice & clean.. ambiance is great . The staffs are so nice and very friendly. I got the sunny soul hash - it was alright 6/10 but again it's only gonna be on the menu for 10 weeks cuz it's part of their seasonal menu. Came here for brunch for the first time. Interior is pretty cute with a slight farm-style vibe. After waiting for about 30 mins, we were eventually seated. To our displeasure, they hadn't cleared the table completely and had left two used mugs at the table they'd taken us to, one of which had a lipstick stain on it. I ordered the chickichanga as I was in the mood for something more savory rather than breakfasty. Honestly, it wasn't as good as the description on the menu made it out to be. It was okay, or more precisely, it was kind of boring in terms of taste. The tortilla had a small amount of chicken and chorizo on the inside of it. They stuffed it more with onions or potato's from what I remember and topped it with some mediocre cheese sauce and a side of sour cream. Honestly though, I don't remember too much at all as the dish just wasn't that memorable for me. Definitely not planning on returning here for this dish. Might consider coming back to try their breakfast though. read more

Excellent spot for brunch! Their morning meditation fresh juice was very refreshing and tasty, I would get it in bulk for my home if i could. They also leave a carafe of water at your table. The portion sizes are pretty big. I got the egg skillet and some lemon ricotta pancakes, I didn't realize how big the pancakes were (about the size of dinner plates), how many strawberries they came with, and also how many potatoes were in my egg skillet. My boyfriend got the carnitas burrito and he started feeling pretty full when he was about 3/4 of the way done. There was a line when we got there around noon, and we were 8th in line, but we also got the text saying our table was ready after only about ten minutes. This particular store is also right next to bath & body works as well as Marshall's, so even if you did have a wait, there's stuff to do and look at. Service was friendly, quick, and attentive. Tables are spaced far enough apart that I felt safe. Not sure what it normally is laid out like, or if this is what the norm is, but they were busy without being crowded. I do highly recommend the million dollar bacon. It's a bit pricy, but with how much effort goes into making it, I can see why. I feel like one person could eat all four slices and then have some room for pancakes or biscuits & gravy or some other smaller entree/appetizer. Can't believe it took me so long to actually try this place out. read more

Visiting my cousin and she brought us here for some breakfast this morning. No wait and there is plenty of space between the tables and staff are all wearing masks. We all ordered the purple haze for the drink and it was delightful. Crisp and refreshing and sweet. I have never had butterfly pea flower tea before and it was really lovely. The drink was a little sweet for my taste but the other girls loved it. My cousin ordered the power wrap and our friend ordered the traditional breakfast. I ordered the trifecta with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage and a single lemon curd pancake (I knew the pancakes were huge and didn't want to have a full order of just the pants). The chicken patty was delicious and not spicy at all. The pancake was rich and creamy and fluffy and the ricotta cheese was such an interesting addition. The lemon curd was rich and sweet but was the perfect compliment to the creamy ricotta center and sliced strawberries. Definitely could not have eaten a full order, but worth tasting it as a single on the side. The only odd thing was our friend ordered the gluten free toast with her breakfast and they put the regular toast on her plate and then put a single slice of gluten free bread on a side plate (not toasted). The server was great, the bathrooms were clean, the food was delicious, and I appreciated the measures they have in place to keep us safe while eating. read more

Great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch! Everything is fresh made! My wife and I enjoy going here. Took away one star due to getting our appetizer and main course at the same time! after I told our server that we would like the app first! You'll notice the app in the pic of my wife's pancake. The donuts were great, I had the eggs Benedict with Smoked salmon which was very good, I enjoyed the hollandaise sauce, and my wife loved her eggs and pancake. Breakfast is bae all day everyday especially on the weekends when I can dive into a good brunch and First Watch did not disappoint!! Saturday morning can get kinda crowded kinda quick so first things first, do add yourself to the waitlist through yelp (of course) or via their app and let the countdown begin. It updates real time with your spot in line and how many parties are ahead of you so you can perfectly tie your arrival to ensure the shortest wait time at the front of the house. If you are not one who likes closeness, this location may bot be for you as the seats are pretty close to each other. But once the food arrives you will forget all about your neighbors because you will be stuffing your face!! I have a thing for a seasonal menu and I stan for seasonal items which leads me to our selections in no specific order but enjoyed all the same. The Million Dollar Bacon is a million dollar must even if its only once and you eat or even dabble in pork!! First, it has a sticky appeal and will have you licking your fingers like you have no home training whats so ever!! The cayenne pepper give it a low sweet heat yet is not overpowering due to the brown sugar and maple syrup drizzle... whats that? Yes you can forward me your thanks for the recommendation lol. The Steak and Eggs Hash is a modern spin on a steak and eggs dish which is hearty from start to finish. Steak is cooked perfectly,, you can have you egg anyway you like it, fried hard, like hard hard for me and its nestled on a filling pile of sauteed onions, peppers and potato hash!! Man can you taste it because I feel like I can at this very moment!! The Parma Hash gives you and egg coked your way along with the creamiest parm, mozzerella and herb melted like sauce with well seasoned potatoes, mushrooms, onions, thick cuts of Italian sausage and tomatoes. You also get a decent size piece of toast. I think the pancakes are the underdog on the entire menu because they are fantastic even if its just a basic one with no topping. Fluffy and thick with warm maple syrup and a big dollop of butter, need I say more? The French Toast was okay but it did not blow me away because it was so naked as in just powered sugar and butter. I think if it were topped with berries or something fruity it would have elevated the flavor of it all for me. If you are drink adventurous, please try the Morning Meditation!!! It has a hint of tartness on the backend but depending on your taste buds it could be minimal. Not only is is visual stunning, it actually tastes fab. It is a combo of beet juice, agave nectar, orange juice, organic ginger and turmeric. A lot I know but one sip and you will fully understand the power of the perfect combination! Service was fantastic and I am low-key mad I cannot remember our servers name to give her all the kudos because she was super patient with me and my best brunch babes as we combed over the menu to decide what we wanted. She made sure our food was right and that our drinks were never empty at any point. Need I say more or do you now know where you should be brunching at next? read more

In my opinion I would say that the service and quality have begun to decline, I ve been to this location multiple times and had always enjoyed my experience. In my most recent visits either with friends or family we have failed to receive food or they had just run out, items were overcooked (Burnt or brittle), or it was beginning to show signs of age (wilting or slimy salads). I wanted to hope that this would turn around but I've see the same issues on multiple occasions. I used to love it but not so much. Hard to recommend. read more
