Went here for the first time this week and really liked it. The gentleman working the bar service (and running around as a Jack of all trades) did a great job. You can order at the counter, order via a QR code, or at the bar they'll take your order. I did a BYOB with Angus, bacon, PJ cheese, and condiments. They make a really good burger. Service was prompt, friendly, and they keep it very clean. Perfect addition to FFSC. Will be back. Highly recommend if you need your burger fix. read more

I was thinking about grabbing a burger and I drive past this place every day for work. It was Saturday afternoon; how busy could they be? I had to dig a bit to find pricing and gave the menu a look. Lots of choices so I'm in the car. They're close to home and I found a parking space, woohoo. I decided on the 9 year anniversary burger on a brioche bun, medium well sans the mustard. I ordered through a person vs the kiosk. I like the in person ordering process better. I also ordered the fries. The place is pretty good size. From the outside it looks small inside. The menu has a lot of choices, between chicken, burgers, bowls, lots of toppings... The food came out pretty quick and I'm back in the car heading home to eat. The bun was fresh and they added a lot of lettuce and onion but the burger itself was small. Not quite what I expected. I asked for medium well and that's how it came. At this point I feel like I have been to most of the Big Buns locations in the area. All offer the same decent burger and fries, and the kids meal is a pretty good value with a slider, fries and drink. This one is slightly different because the entire middle of the restaurant is a large u-shaped bar area. There was only one server working taking orders and delivering food, but she was quite friendly and efficient. Its not a bad place to stop for a quick lunch or dinner. read more

Appreciate gluten free bun options, staff is knowledgeable about changing gloves. Burger flavors were good. Average I guess. My husband ended up with 2 bottom bun pieces and my kid ended up with 2 top bun pieces. But the kid loved both top pieces and it was with the chicken sandwich which was really loved, they would go back just for that. I've eaten at this location a few times-long time fan of the Big Buns brand though. Ordering at the kiosk is easy but can get backed up if busy. Kids meals are nicely apportioned and comes with fries and a drink. I had a build your own but on past visits I've done pre-established combos. The burgers are super messy which is a good sign for a quality burger. Each kid had a kid shake-Shake Shack is better IMO but maybe it depends on who is making the shake. Now THIS is a burger joint! If you're looking for a solid, delicious burger that isn't a smash-burger, this is where you want to go. I got a regular cheeseburger with standard toppings since it was my first time here, and I wanted to see how good the quality was. I was not disappointed. They let you choose how to cook your meat, which is more than most burger shops do. I had mine medium-rare and it was cooked to perfection. I ordered the cajun fries which were super crispy the entire way through the meal, even 20 minutes later near the end of my meal. They were surprisingly spicy as well, so if you like cajun seasoning but don't like super-spicy foods then be warned that the cajun fries may be too much for you. They also give a dipping sauce for the fries - I got the chipotle aioli (read: flavored mayo) for mine, and as an avid sauce-eater I was very pleased with it. The patty was thick because I requested it to be cooked medium, but I'd estimate maybe a 3inch in diameter sammich as a whole. That would be great if it were a $6 or $7 burger. The fries were crispy but cold & barely filled up its little side dish boat. Seemed like I got the bottom of the fry pan that had been sitting there awhile because they didn't want to drop some fresh fries in the fryer. The shake. It was tasty but so not worth $8! No way no how is a shake made with soft serve, some oreo cookie crumbs, and canned whipped cream worthy of that high of a price tag. Was it worth the drive? No. Was it worth $26? No. Will I be going back? Definitely not. The service alone wasn't inviting & the food at that price point wasn't outstanding enough for me to make the drive & tolerate the service. Funny name but I hear the food is good. It was tasty but slow coming out, they forgot two of our drinks so we never got them. My Southwest Smoke bowl was excellent with a very flavorful base of "Napa and Red Cabbage, Romaine, Quinoa, Avocado, Shredded Carrots, Pico De Gallo, Corn Tortilla Strips, Cilantro Lime Chipotle Vinaigrette". I chose an Angus burger for protein and asked for medium rare. I would have asked for rare but it wasn't an option. Having said that, DD2's burger was definitely rare & she also chose medium rare! Anyway, all the ingredients were very fresh - the avocado slices were amazing! - and what a great balance of flavors. DD1 had an anniversary burger but made as a bowl. They charged an extra $1.50 for it and we couldn't figure out why. Our first guess was that it would have a lot of lettuce or something, but nope! It looked very skimpy in the bowl. She also got the parmesan truffle fries and they were very good. In fact, DD2 and I snitched quite a few! She said her bowl was OK but definitely overpriced for what she got. We ordered the kids burger and tenders for the kids and my wife asked if they had a lettuce version of their burgers and they actually said they can make any of their burgers into a lettuce bowl version. My wife said her breadless burger was delicious and the best she's ever tasted. I've never had a Nashville hot chicken sandwich before but most seem to look dry or bland. This hot chicken sandwich was so good. Had a really nice kick to it, some sauce on it, and slaw as well. It was soooo good. The manager came by to ask us how the food was and I was already done with my burger before anyone at our table was halfway done. Also the fries are fresh shoe string style fries that tastes so good too! They have regular soda from their fountain but also have a handful of gourmet drinks. All were very flavorful and refreshing! Our kid of course wanted the unicorn milkshake dessert. It was huge and they loved it. And the best part is they let you keep the small unicorn inflatable. Plus the chairs aren't very wide.... Fluffy folks it's uncomfortable Let's chat about drinks... Way toooo expensive for a basic chocolate shake which others have mentioned. My friend and I decided to try out the new Big Buns close to our home. We are both salad lovers so we decided that was our best option. She ordered the Southwest Smoke Show. A few mixed drink options and a white, rose, and red wine. They have "adult" shakes. One of them was called the Tipsy Apple Pie shake w/ Captain Morgan. The sides they offer are fries, Cajun fries, Parmesan Truffle fries, Jammin Sprouts, and Cajun Nugz. Regarding drinks, they have Mexican coke (in the bottle) and Maine Root fountain colas, and several types of shakes. They do also offer kids meals. We really liked our burgers and the fries. First time customer, and I was very excited to try them out, waiting months for them to finally open. I hate to say it, but I'm sadly disappointed. First, a tip: don't bother with the Big Buns app on the App Store. I had downloaded it months prior in anticipation of their opening; it's in partnership with Chowhound, but it no longer works. They do, however, have an online order interface via their website. That is how I placed my order. Order interface on their website was easy to navigate, easy to use. Text confirmations upon receipt and when meal was ready to pickup. Much like other establishments started in the pandemic, they have dedicated shelving for pickup orders. Which leads me to my next tip: if you order any drinks esp those from the bar or any of their shakes, don't just grab your pickup order in a rush and assume you've got everything. And double check your ticket. I sent my husband to pick up, he saw *two* empty cups in a cup carrier to indicate there were missing drinks he had to grab. He realized the fridge below the shelves were to keep shakes cold, so he was able to grab our shakes easily. However, there was no third "placeholder cup" in our cup carrier to indicate there was a third bar drink to pickup. Apparently you have to go to the counter or bar area for that to show ID. Which makes sense, but there was no signage or directions, nor a placeholder cup to give you a visual reminder. So he drove all the way home and then realized there was a third missing drink he wasn't given. No QC or ticket accuracy checks apparently (more on that below). Did not want to make the trip back to the restaurant, so we called the manager and he refunded the drink. Now, a review of the food and drink. On the bright side, the regular shakes (Oreo and chocolate) were good. Super pricey and a bit small, though. For $7.50, you get just a short clear 8oz cup. (As a comparison, for $7 you get a tall 16oz glass and additional refill in the metal mixing cup when you order at a local chain diner. Also handmade with real ice cream. The diner's "junior" kids sized shakes are $4.50with the 8oz cup.) We ordered the Peppercorn Steakhouse burger as it comes, but asked for the peppercorn mayo on the side. The brioche bun was sizeable and fresh tasting, the medium temp we requested was more medium rare, so keep that in mind when you indicate burger temps. It was a decent tasting burger. BUT, we got regular mayo on the side and not the peppercorn mayo (a second QC/order accuracy issue) so we didn't get to experience the recipe as advertised. It was large and assembled well in the carton and pretty tasty, but I would have liked to try the peppercorn mayo it was supposed to come with. Especially for the $14 price tag. Our second burger was essentially just a plain cheddar burger cooked "medium" (read: medium rare), and that was as ordered and tasty. $11 for this burger. We ordered a side of bacon queso fries based on the pics we had seen online, and that was the biggest disappointment of all. First, value for price: $7.99 and I've posted pics of what you get for that price. A small handful of cold greasy fries, the portion is for more for one person even though you think at the price it would be a shareable side. The fries are not dressed and assembled or ready to eat, though. There was a plastic lidded condiment holder filled with congealed cold queso (see pics) and a second one filled with what looked like the bottom of the grease container with bacon remnants. It was so disgusting and unappetizing. We tried reheating but there was just no saving it. If you eat in, perhaps you receive them plated and dressed as advertised and expected. But for to-go orders, save your money and skip what you thought would be a delicious side. Our total order for the two of us was $65 (minus a refund for the Margarita we didn't receive); it was definitely not a $65 value in portion or food quality. There are so many other competitor burger places just a few miles away with far better quality and prices. Sadly I think this Best Buns location will not last long here in the Franklin Farm shopping center. Which is too bad, because us locals really looked forward to this exact type of place! read more
