I was thinking about grabbing a burger and I drive past this place every day for work. It was Saturday afternoon; how busy could they be? I had to dig a bit to find pricing and gave the menu a look. Lots of choices so I'm in the car. They're close to home and I found a parking space, woohoo. I decided on the 9 year anniversary burger on a brioche bun, medium well sans the mustard. I ordered through a person vs the kiosk. I like the in person ordering process better. I also ordered the fries. The place is pretty good size. From the outside it looks small inside. The menu has a lot of choices, between chicken, burgers, bowls, lots of toppings... The food came out pretty quick and I'm back in the car heading home to eat. The bun was fresh and they added a lot of lettuce and onion but the burger itself was small. Not quite what I expected. I asked for medium well and that's how it came. All I could taste was the lettuce. The fries were fine, on the cold side but I drove home so I can't complain. I will likely give them another try, this time eating in the dining room. read more

I really wanted to love this place. Menu is exciting, desserts are outrageously fun! Location is weird. At metro stations and not the easiest to get to. Prices add up quickly... Fries were disappointing and soggy. We got Cajun and truffle. Ordered a burger medium well, got it extra rare. Was eating in the car so no way to heat it back up. Appreciate gluten free bun options, staff is knowledgeable about changing gloves. Burger flavors were good. Average I guess. My husband ended up with 2 bottom bun pieces and my kid ended up with 2 top bun pieces. But the kid loved both top pieces and it was with the chicken sandwich which was really loved, they would go back just for that. Probably wouldn't go back to this location, but I see they have a lot all over the place so willing to try other ones. read more

We were exploring the Herndon area and were looking for a place to eat. I picked this restaurant based on the name (and reviews). The burgers were very good. All 3 of us enjoyed our orders. The staff was super friendly. It was a really enjoyable experience. read more

At this point I feel like I have been to most of the Big Buns locations in the area. All offer the same decent burger and fries, and the kids meal is a pretty good value with a slider, fries and drink. This one is slightly different because the entire middle of the restaurant is a large u-shaped bar area. There was only one server working taking orders and delivering food, but she was quite friendly and efficient. Its not a bad place to stop for a quick lunch or dinner. read more

Went here for the first time this week and really liked it. The gentleman working the bar service (and running around as a Jack of all trades) did a great job. You can order at the counter, order via a QR code, or at the bar they'll take your order. I did a BYOB with Angus, bacon, PJ cheese, and condiments. They make a really good burger. Service was prompt, friendly, and they keep it very clean. Perfect addition to FFSC. Will be back. Highly recommend if you need your burger fix. read more

I've eaten at this location a few times-long time fan of the Big Buns brand though. Ordering at the kiosk is easy but can get backed up if busy. Kids meals are nicely apportioned and comes with fries and a drink. I had a build your own but on past visits I've done pre-established combos. The burgers are super messy which is a good sign for a quality burger. Each kid had a kid shake-Shake Shack is better IMO but maybe it depends on who is making the shake. Lots of seating available and additional seating around the bar. Atmosphere is very laid back -food is brought out when ready. Parking is easy for this strip mall location. read more

If you're in the mood for a delicious burger this is your place. The burgers are super juicy. The chicken sandwich is really fresh. I enjoyed the Parmesan fries. The Brussels sprouts has a good kick too it. I enjoyed my slushie and milkshake. Customer service was decent. Everyone is super friendly and informative with recommendations. Due to the area parking is a bit chaotic and busy read more

We ordered from big buns via Uber Eats, which was a bad start. But this review isn't about Uber Eats, it's about the ludicrously small portions and ridiculous prices for the tater tots and the chicken nugz. $70 for two sides and two burgers... You could put more than $0.50 worth of product into it. Definitely won't order from you via Uber Eats anymore, and probably won't patronize you at all. read more

Big Buns - This is the whole order of Parmesan tater tots. $5. The chicken nugz was even smaller - 6 weakly nuggets - $9.50. - Burgers Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

We ordered takeout at this big buns location, burger and tater tots. The burger was the very definition of average. Perfectly serviceable burger but nothing special. Not particularly juicy or flavorful. Tater tots were crisp but nothing that couldn't be easily achieved from a frozen bag at home. Not impressed for the price, food quality was just fast food+ with fast food++ pricing. read more

Now THIS is a burger joint! If you're looking for a solid, delicious burger that isn't a smash-burger, this is where you want to go. I got a regular cheeseburger with standard toppings since it was my first time here, and I wanted to see how good the quality was. I was not disappointed. They let you choose how to cook your meat, which is more than most burger shops do. I had mine medium-rare and it was cooked to perfection. I ordered the cajun fries which were super crispy the entire way through the meal, even 20 minutes later near the end of my meal. They were surprisingly spicy as well, so if you like cajun seasoning but don't like super-spicy foods then be warned that the cajun fries may be too much for you. They also give a dipping sauce for the fries - I got the chipotle aioli (read: flavored mayo) for mine, and as an avid sauce-eater I was very pleased with it. For me this is the best non-fast food burger shop in the Herndon area. read more

BLUF: Too expensive for a dinky fast-food burger, barely a handful of fries, and a shake. The only thing worth it was the self-serve yummy soft drinks. Service with a smile nor a warm welcome nor above & beyond aren't mottos here. Venue was clean enough & I think fairly accessible for those who roll & walk. The burger. Tasty meat patty but waaaaaay too greasy. Like dripping greasy not just glistening greasy. The top half of the bun was toasted and lukewarm & the bottom bun was cold as ice and not toasted...like they probably dropped the original bun & replaced it with its cold, less tasty stand-in. How could they think no one would notice the cold, untoasted bun?!?! The first bite was good because I could taste the meat, but a few bites in & there was just too much goop on the burger that I couldn't taste the meat anymore. The patty was thick because I requested it to be cooked medium, but I'd estimate maybe a 3inch in diameter sammich as a whole. That would be great if it were a $6 or $7 burger. The fries were crispy but cold & barely filled up its little side dish boat. Seemed like I got the bottom of the fry pan that had been sitting there awhile because they didn't want to drop some fresh fries in the fryer. The shake. It was tasty but so not worth $8! No way no how is a shake made with soft serve, some oreo cookie crumbs, and canned whipped cream worthy of that high of a price tag. Was it worth the drive? No. Was it worth $26? No. Will I be going back? Definitely not. The service alone wasn't inviting & the food at that price point wasn't outstanding enough for me to make the drive & tolerate the service. The search continues for the burger joint that has it all! read more

the service was good but they can't seem to follow basic request. I asked for my rare, Blue Rare, it cam out medium well. The meat tasted good but needed seasoning. basic salting of the burgers would go along to bringing out flavors. The French fries are lacking big time. Soft, cool and not well salted, like 3-4-day old McD's fries. I also added bacon to my burger but they put it on another burger. small changes could make this better, and asking around others had the same issues, which at some point should be addressed. read more

The only thing I regret is how long it took me to come here... Here I am a lover of burgers... always in search of a great chicken sandwich that overflows past the bun... delicious hot chicken sandwiches like Hattie B's... heat that lingers just long enough but a good flavored burn... not pain for no reason! Could there be a place that serves both a great burger and a great chicken sandwich?!? They're like a mystical unicorn! Well... I think I found it! I really hate myself for settling for so many average burgers and chicken sandwiches... The owners and chef must love food and you can tell by the quality food they put out! I really NEED EVERYONE to come and blow this place up... I can't have this place disappear when fast food places and low quality food places stay afloat! You can't go wrong with the anniversary burger and the way the caramelized onions complement the thick bacon... the buns are perfect chewiness and the patties are not too smashed... tender to every bite! The decor is beautiful and modern... the owners literally put soooo much thought into everything!!! Make your way immediately if you are a foodie or a burger connoisseur! read more

Funny name but I hear the food is good. It was tasty but slow coming out, they forgot two of our drinks so we never got them. My Southwest Smoke bowl was excellent with a very flavorful base of "Napa and Red Cabbage, Romaine, Quinoa, Avocado, Shredded Carrots, Pico De Gallo, Corn Tortilla Strips, Cilantro Lime Chipotle Vinaigrette". I chose an Angus burger for protein and asked for medium rare. I would have asked for rare but it wasn't an option. Having said that, DD2's burger was definitely rare & she also chose medium rare! Anyway, all the ingredients were very fresh - the avocado slices were amazing! - and what a great balance of flavors. DD1 had an anniversary burger but made as a bowl. They charged an extra $1.50 for it and we couldn't figure out why. Our first guess was that it would have a lot of lettuce or something, but nope! It looked very skimpy in the bowl. She also got the parmesan truffle fries and they were very good. In fact, DD2 and I snitched quite a few! She said her bowl was OK but definitely overpriced for what she got. Would I come back if I lived nearby? Doubtful. I feel that it's overpriced, especially for a chain that can't fulfill an entire order properly. Parking is ample and free. read more

Unfortunately this place is going to be a no on future visits for us and it has nothing to do with the food. Issue is the type of seating.... It is unfriendly to both those who are fluffy and those with back issues. 1) the booths are set way to tight... if you are fluffy don't try as those tables are bolted to the floor 2) beware the slates... just far enough apart on the bench seating that it grabs as you slide... beware! 3) the low seats have two issues... it barely has a back so those that need a chair have no leaning option if you need that. Plus the chairs aren't very wide.... Fluffy folks it's uncomfortable Let's chat about drinks... Way toooo expensive for a basic chocolate shake which others have mentioned. If you want soda their fountain. Is mainroot ... I'm a Coke gal... they do have regular Coke in a bottle but not Diet Coke. Bummmer As to the burger.... Ordered a classic with cheddar , lettuce, pickles, and onion. Cooked well done as hubby doesn't like pink in his burger. Burger was nicely cooked. We shared it as we are trying to cut back but I would have happily snarfed both halves! Potatoes were just okay... nothing special... not a fan of aioli which comes with it... luckily on the side. If you want ketchup just ask So I would come back for the burger... but as seating doesn't fit either me or the hubby probably won't have a return visit as we prefer eating in to taking home Staff was super friendly and helpful so a major plus there.... So a 5 on the burger and staff... a meh on the rest of the food and shake... a 0 on the seating.... Averages to a 2! read more

We were back again for an evening meal during the week and found a new "special": The Big Bundle which is a classic burger, fries and a fountain drink for $13.99. They also have sliders during Happy Hour which is from 3:00 PM to 6:00PM. At these prices, our "dinner", was about $30 plus tip. Saw someone post about this place on Instagram. Decided to check it out. Drove 30 min here and the place was empty besides one other small family. We ordered the kids burger and tenders for the kids and my wife asked if they had a lettuce version of their burgers and they actually said they can make any of their burgers into a lettuce bowl version. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich since I've never had one and then we ordered a couple of soda fountain cups. My wife said her breadless burger was delicious and the best she's ever tasted. I've never had a Nashville hot chicken sandwich before but most seem to look dry or bland. This hot chicken sandwich was so good. Had a really nice kick to it, some sauce on it, and slaw as well. It was soooo good. The manager came by to ask us how the food was and I was already done with my burger before anyone at our table was halfway done. Also the fries are fresh shoe string style fries that tastes so good too! They have regular soda from their fountain but also have a handful of gourmet drinks. All were very flavorful and refreshing! Our kid of course wanted the unicorn milkshake dessert. It was huge and they loved it. And the best part is they let you keep the small unicorn inflatable. Also the kids meals are served on small frisbees as plates! I told my wife we could keep them and she didn't believe me. She asked one of the workers and he said, "of course! They are yours to keep and come with each kids meal". A frisbee is so much cooler than a cheap McDonald's toy lol. Really impressed with this burger place. It is a hike at 30 min away but worth it! read more

Looks good right? Well, it was MEDIOCRE. $19.07 for a combo that does not hit the spot. I asked for medium well and i got a well done meat bc why? They PRE-cook all the burgers. Be prepared for the shredded lettuce to fall all over your lap. They couldn't spare a whole leaf lettuce. I asked to warm the buns.... Got nothing but cold buns and ignored my request. The manager was VERY pushy, whom lacked of great customer service. He rushes you to order like a McD drive thru. This place is NOT THE burger place. I would NOT recommend. Craving a juicy burger? I thought the food would be great; however, I was quite disappointed. The hamburger was just okay. Purchased the 9-year Anniversary, and the lettuce was oily, the bacon was slightly undercooked, and the meat could have been seasoned. The cajun fries had so much seasoning, they tasted like eating Old Bay seasoning directly from the container. The quality and taste of food matter. read more

For $20 for a burger, fries and drink meal. And the name "damn good burgers" the burgers were lackluster. Def morning prepped toppings, mushrooms were lukewarm and watery. And the meat was a little gamey, couldn't taste any seasoning on the burger itself. Also ordered it medium but came out cooked all the way through. Eaten at various DGB locations for years, but I'm over it. I'll just make the drive to Melt Gourmet Burgers in Leesburg. They donate some proceeds to animal shelters too. read more

They offer burgers made with Angus beef. They also offer chicken (fried and grilled) as well as veggie and impossible burgers. I didn't ask what the difference between the two. They have "designer burgers" with an assortment of toppings. Of course you can make your own meal. You simply select the protein, then you can either select a brioche bun or in a bowl (which salad bowl or quinoa bowl). Next is the 6 different types of cheese. Then they have toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion (raw or sauteed), jalapenos, and sauteed mushrooms. Then they have premium toppings such as avocado, bacon, fried egg, or onion straws. Wait there's more! They have 9 different sauces. They do have a limited amount of beers, the most main brand are Sam Adams Seasonal and Modelo Especial. A few mixed drink options and a white, rose, and red wine. They have "adult" shakes. One of them was called the Tipsy Apple Pie shake w/ Captain Morgan. The sides they offer are fries, Cajun fries, Parmesan Truffle fries, Jammin Sprouts, and Cajun Nugz. Regarding drinks, they have Mexican coke (in the bottle) and Maine Root fountain colas, and several types of shakes. They do also offer kids meals. We really liked our burgers and the fries. We had shakes as well and they were good. The prices are in line with the more upscale burger chains, so this isn't a cheap place to grap a burger, but it is a good burger. read more

Big Buns - you decide...... ! - Burgers Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

First time customer, and I was very excited to try them out, waiting months for them to finally open. I hate to say it, but I'm sadly disappointed. First, a tip: don't bother with the Big Buns app on the App Store. I had downloaded it months prior in anticipation of their opening; it's in partnership with Chowhound, but it no longer works. They do, however, have an online order interface via their website. That is how I placed my order. Order interface on their website was easy to navigate, easy to use. Text confirmations upon receipt and when meal was ready to pickup. Much like other establishments started in the pandemic, they have dedicated shelving for pickup orders. Which leads me to my next tip: if you order any drinks esp those from the bar or any of their shakes, don't just grab your pickup order in a rush and assume you've got everything. And double check your ticket. I sent my husband to pick up, he saw *two* empty cups in a cup carrier to indicate there were missing drinks he had to grab. He realized the fridge below the shelves were to keep shakes cold, so he was able to grab our shakes easily. However, there was no third "placeholder cup" in our cup carrier to indicate there was a third bar drink to pickup. Apparently you have to go to the counter or bar area for that to show ID. Which makes sense, but there was no signage or directions, nor a placeholder cup to give you a visual reminder. So he drove all the way home and then realized there was a third missing drink he wasn't given. No QC or ticket accuracy checks apparently (more on that below). Did not want to make the trip back to the restaurant, so we called the manager and he refunded the drink. Now, a review of the food and drink. On the bright side, the regular shakes (Oreo and chocolate) were good. Super pricey and a bit small, though. For $7.50, you get just a short clear 8oz cup. (As a comparison, for $7 you get a tall 16oz glass and additional refill in the metal mixing cup when you order at a local chain diner. Also handmade with real ice cream. The diner's "junior" kids sized shakes are $4.50with the 8oz cup.) We ordered the Peppercorn Steakhouse burger as it comes, but asked for the peppercorn mayo on the side. The brioche bun was sizeable and fresh tasting, the medium temp we requested was more medium rare, so keep that in mind when you indicate burger temps. It was a decent tasting burger. BUT, we got regular mayo on the side and not the peppercorn mayo (a second QC/order accuracy issue) so we didn't get to experience the recipe as advertised. It was large and assembled well in the carton and pretty tasty, but I would have liked to try the peppercorn mayo it was supposed to come with. Especially for the $14 price tag. Our second burger was essentially just a plain cheddar burger cooked "medium" (read: medium rare), and that was as ordered and tasty. $11 for this burger. We ordered a side of bacon queso fries based on the pics we had seen online, and that was the biggest disappointment of all. First, value for price: $7.99 and I've posted pics of what you get for that price. A small handful of cold greasy fries, the portion is for more for one person even though you think at the price it would be a shareable side. The fries are not dressed and assembled or ready to eat, though. There was a plastic lidded condiment holder filled with congealed cold queso (see pics) and a second one filled with what looked like the bottom of the grease container with bacon remnants. It was so disgusting and unappetizing. We tried reheating but there was just no saving it. If you eat in, perhaps you receive them plated and dressed as advertised and expected. But for to-go orders, save your money and skip what you thought would be a delicious side. Our total order for the two of us was $65 (minus a refund for the Margarita we didn't receive); it was definitely not a $65 value in portion or food quality. There are so many other competitor burger places just a few miles away with far better quality and prices. Sadly I think this Best Buns location will not last long here in the Franklin Farm shopping center. Which is too bad, because us locals really looked forward to this exact type of place! read more

I cannot speak for the burgers, but the Hollaback bowl I ordered sounded promising, however, it turned out to be a clash of flavors. And the falafel had an unusual texture.
