Placed a pickup order. They forgot the cheese on my burger which was a $1 up charge. I had mustard , mayonnaise, and ketchup on the burger. They put an absurd amount of mustard. Think 50% mustard, and 25/25% mayo / ketchup. I literally thought they were playing a prank on me with the condiment portions. The cheese fries had gross cheese sauce on them instead of actual melted cheese. The melted cheese was a $3 up charge. The milkshake was okay. For $28 I was very disappointed and there is no way to submit a complaint online other than to call the restaurant clerk - who wouldn't offer anything to resolve my claim. So glad Foster's Grille is here! First tried their Charburgers at their Herndon, VA location (now closed). Placed an order online, which was simple and straightforward. Our order was ready in no time. Employees are friendly and quick. Plenty of seating is available. The ambiance is laid back. You can't go wrong with their Charburgers, Fries, and Shakes. The portions are generous and the flavors are there. The bun is soft yet holds everything together. The meat patty has a great char to it and is seasoned well. I'm upping to 3 stars with hesitation. This place seems to be hit or miss. My wife and I took our son there last year and everything was fine. Ordered take out last night and there was an issue. We ordered a burger, chicken sandwich and 2 Philly cheesesteaks. When we got them home, the food service paper they used with the Phillys had melted into the cheese! My wife tried picking it out but it was too much. To their credit they did replace both (even though only one was affected), but had they not thought about that happening? My co-worker and I came here for lunch. We normally go to Habit or just a local Corp Grill, but wanted to try something new. When you first walk in, there is a table to the left where you can customize your burger order on pads of paper. It's pretty narrow but a smart idea for people who are not ready to look over the menu. I liked that they had a bar at the restaurant. Beer and Burgers just go together! I also liked that they allowed you to customize your order with add on's. I ordered the Crispy Chicken sandwich with pepper-jack cheese and bacon with a 1/2 order of onion rings. The hostess was super friendly and helpful with editing my order, as it was cheaper to get the 1/2 order of onion rings instead of doing the soda/fries deal and upgrading to onion rings. When we sat down, my coworker chose a booth. It was SOOO TIGHT. He barley squeezed in. I had no space between my stomach and the table. I sat towards the very end of the booth so that I could take advantage of swinging my feet and stomach out into the isle. The onion rings that came out were not crispy. They were soggy from the grease... Was disappointed and ended up leaving half of the 4/5 of them on the plate. The bacon was not crispy and was 1/2 fat so I ended up picking that added upgrade off too. The Crispy chicken was really good! I liked the pepper-jack as well. My coworker said the burger quality is def in line with habit and even better than five guys. Overall, I was sad about the onion rings and the bacon. The sandwich quality was great though! I really liked that they had a bar, so it could be a potential HH location. I liked that they had specials posted around, so I took a photo on here to remember them. My fiancé and I think Foster's whenever we feel like craving a good charbroiled burger. We've been to one in Manassas Old town one many times because my fiancé especially likes the old town vibe and outdoor seatings near to open common area to walk around after. We recently been to this particular Foster's because they have daily deals which we like. I would say just try it if you haven't because I think it taste different from Freddy's charburger. I'm a big fan of fries with potato skin so I can't even be nit picky about fries at Foster's :P Anyways, they have socially distant indoor seatings and a good outdoor seatings setup too for families or even for pet! I've had Foster's in Herndon and the burger was descent. This time around I decided to try the burgers in South Riding. The burger was supposed to have been cooked medium well but it came out to be well done, thus I had a dry hockey puck burger with no taste. Burgers should be juicy and not dry. There was no seasoning in the burger. The fries were good and reminded me of Five Guys Fries. The service was good, I was greeted upon entering and a lady checked in me to see how I was doing. One thing that lacked was the seats at the booths were not clean and had crumbs and oily finger print stains everywhere. If you are going to wipe they table, make an effort to clean your seating. This location has an excellent beer program and you can follow them on untappd to know exactly what's available. Unlike many businesses they keep everything up to date and allow you to order flights if you want to try things. The food is good old fashion burgers and fries fare and is actually cooked appropriately (usually in the medium to medium well range) not carbonized like so many places these days. They also added more great outdoor seating during COVID for folks who prefer not to be indoors. I highly recommend making a stop here. read more

I walked in at 8:11 PM on a Sunday evening. Before I got there I looked on their website to see what time they close and it clearly states 9:00. Sign on the door states the same thing. When I walked in there you could just see how irritated the girl behind the counter was. I politely asked her what time they close because I did not want to keep them open past their closing time. Foster's makes an OK hamburger but you can find better. The meat was flavorful but dry. The roll and toppings were pretty good. I hadn't been there for a while. In the past, you filled out the order slip at the counter. Now they have them in the entry foyer. It can get jammed up in there with people filling out the slips while are others are going in and out. Also, they have daily specials that you do not see while in the foyer. When you walk in, there is a small alcove with pads of paper where you can indicate what you want (burger, chicken sandwich/veggie burger/etc), your fixins, if you want fries/salad, how you want your fries/salad, what you want to drink, etc. It was overwhelming and exciting! I went with a cheeseburger, fries, and a cookies and cream shake. The shake was thicker than a Wendy's frosty, and twice as good (no dis to the frosty). It was a bit pricey ($4.75), but could definitely be shared by 2-3 people. An acceptable alternative might be a dessert portion of ice cream at $1.50. Went in at 4:30. Ordered a burger well done to go. Several other people came in and placed orders and got seated. After about 15 minutes, I noticed peoples orders coming out that he came in after me and were seated in the restaurant after 30 minutes I asked for a refund. The manager said you're well. Done burger is just coming up now. I said I'll just take a refund. I'm not sure if my burger was done or not but after 30 minutes I was done. If they actually cooked it for 30 minutes I wouldn't want it anyway. Very poor management. Will never go back here again. read more

Kentucky burger in my mouth... I love me a good juicy meaty burger. The kind where the juice drips down my hand... True, the burger patty was of good size and cooked as I ordered it (normally they cook it 'well' so you have to ask if you want it closer to moo). The meat was sort of bland. I asked (with ten people in line behind me... sorry, I can't see out of the back of my head) and found out that the beef comes from Kentucky and is never frozen (it was tender and not that gnarly grit pile that some places serve). Still could have used a dash more salt. The fries were cut from real potatoes (of medium waxiness) and I liked them. The serving was a normal handful of fries snuggled in next to my burger in my plastic basket (at Five Guys, I rarely order the fries because I can't eat such a huge portion). I guess portion control is good. This place is not fancy (I liked the wooden booths) and it has the feel of a suburban brewpub... oh, wait, it's Centreville! You order (on slips of paper) and pay at the bar and then wait for your food at your table. The price seemed a wee bit on the high side for a burger but then I guess the market is cornered out here? I love a good, grilled burger. Truly, I do. When the craving hits, I must satisfy it, so I took a trip to Fosters based on a friend's recommendation and decent Yelp reviews. This place kind-of reminded me of 'The Counter' in that you had to grab a menu slip once inside and specify what you wanted to order: burger, condiments, cheese, etc. I tried to order both my and the little one's order on the same menu slip, but the guy behind the bar quickly explained that I needed to fill out a separate slip for each of us. I ordered the Olde Fashioned Charburger meal for me and the Chicken Finger meal for the little one. Both meals came with fries and drinks. After seeing the Daily Specials posted above the bar, I ordered 8 of the 1/2 price wings (The Wed Special) mostly out of curiosity. 4 Asian wings & 4 Mild wings (w/ranch dressing) rounded out my order. The wait time wasn't too bad and the guy who took our order also delivered our grub. He was friendly. The little one really liked him...The food arrived hot to our table. As another Yelper mentioned, the hamburger bun was served un-toasted, which meant that it started to fall apart a little when I initially tried to pick it up. I agree that it would be better toasted. The burger patty appeared to be pre-formed, which disappointed me a little. I personally prefer that my burgers be freshly patted/formed. The burger itself was alright. It had a nice chargrilled taste, but nothing spectacular. The fries were average. I could take 'em or leave 'em. The little one's chicken fingers were dry. They weren't eaten by either of us, but the little one sure did try to finish off the fries - go figure. I won't be earning any 'mom of the year' awards this evening, that's for sure. To be honest, the highlight of my meal were the wings. They were well-seasoned, had a nice crunchy skin and weren't overly saucy. I preferred the 'Asian' wings over the 'Mild', but that's just me. Totally didn't realize how casual this place was until I went inside for the first time, but was still pleasantly surprised with how good it was! You order everything on paper order forms and then they bring your food to the table. The service was great. As someone who doesn't eat red meat, it's always a pretty exciting (and rare) moment when I find good turkey/chicken/veggie burgers, and Foster's turkey burgers are pretty darn good! Restaurant turkey burgers can often end up being dry or flavorless, but this burger was neither of those things. Plus, I loved that my burger (which I ordered with pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, pickles, and jalepenos) wasn't super oily and was light so it didn't leave me feeling gross and bloated afterwards. The fries were cooked properly but very under-salted so I didn't really end up eating most of them. When I got Sprite out of the machine, these black flecks kept coming out and floating in my cup which was kind of gross and alarming, lol. I've always enjoyed a Foster's burger, but when I found out this location was a craft beer haven a couple years ago I was floored! I work across the street from here and pretty regularly come over for lunch and a brew. The service here has always been very solid. Jeremy, the owner, and Elliott, one of the managers, always greet me with a smile and take time to chit chat if there isn't a huge line out of the door. Foster's is known for their charburger and they always deliver, though I make sure I order mine medium! They have the rest of the typical American burger fare - delicious fries included! The beer selection is always stellar. These guys always make sure to have a mixture of local VA craft beer and big name beers from other markets like Ballast Point, Stone, Avery, etc. In addition they've done events on the regular such as Third Thursdays and brewery spotlights to keep the craft craving customer coming in. Prices can be a bit higher than other places sometimes but I appreciate that I can get a 4oz or half pour of any beer I want. read more
